Unfortunately, it’s refreshing to see a character in Star Wars who is legitimately a real piece of shit to children after all the parental figures that have been lauded at us.

okay okay hmm a day of relaxing with diluc. sitting together and reading the same book only turning the page when the other has finished reading. cozy comfy and safe with each other :3

His crimson eyes followed the drifting of your gaze over the pages of the book. His arm was gently curled up around your waist and the book was resting between the two of you. Occasionally he would mutter a soft, 'go on' whenever your pretty eyes drifted over to him. Before you could even ask him anything, he was already turning the page. 

For a while, he thought he was reading faster than you, until now. He had only just finished reading and it became apparent to him that you were just rereading the last paragraph, waiting for him. He raised a brow, and you glanced up at him with a little grin.

Oh? Diluc glanced down at the page again, “Have you finished?” he asked.

You nodded, and figured this was the best time to reveal your secret, “Mhm. I’ve been done for a while,” you replied. There was a bit of cockiness in your voice, veiled by that sweet tone which now filled the halls of his home and his workplace and wherever else you managed to stick yourself to since you have become a staple in your life.

Diluc did not know if he should be offended or not? He could not really find it in him since you looked so adorable, staring at him with that little smile on those lips he adored so much. He sighed and shook his head for a moment. 

Carefully, he took the book from your lap and he shut it, setting it off to the side table before shifting his position so that he could fully wrap his arms around you and tug you into his embrace. With all the tragedy that had befallen him, he could not help but cling on the few good things he could rely on, including you. His darling. There was no Fatui, no Abyss, just you and him, and the faint afternoon light which was slipping through the windows, bathing you in this golden light.

You grinned and slipped your arms around him in return, nuzzling your cheek against his shoulder, “What? Don’t want to read since you’re not faster than me?” you teased.

He scoffed and pressed a kiss to your cheek, “Oh, shut it,” he said, but there was no real bite in his tone. It was phenomenal the way you seemed to calm him down. He was always quite schooled in his demeanor, unwavering and serious, but beneath it all there was a fury which never quite disappeared and yet… around you, it was completely silent.

“Let’s just enjoy this,” he added, leaning completely against you.
