ougghhh everyone’s talking so fondly about lionpaw and his new friendships made by the ripwater event but all i can think about is his mention of ashfur’s comment. and how lion probably thinks it’s just a little joke but ash might actually mean it :(

There's this little pearl of a theme hidden in the Ripwater Episode, if you look carefully; abuse acts on people in insidious but subtle ways.

It's Mistystar who's defensive of asking for help or admitting a problem, thinking of what she did to Leopardstar and also repeating cultural sentiment that once victimized her herself.

It's Squirrelflight shouting at her daughter for acting like she used to, because she's spent some years being yelled at in a similar way

It's Hollypaw who isn't allowed to enjoy her achievement of saving Otterpaw's life or lean into how much she has in common with Lakepaw, because she's ashamed of how she did something "wrong" by snooping

And lastly, it's Lionpaw, who's starting to believe the vicious comments that Ashfur says about him. I referenced Willowpelt partially for the sweet little irony of him teaching her recipe to her unknown grandson, Ripplepaw, but ALSO because Ashfur is starting to isolate him.

Willowpelt is the Head of Hunting, currently, a position that Lionblaze is going to succeed her in. I don't think Ashfur is playing 4D chess quite yet, but there's a couple of little motivations knocking around in Ashfur's heart for why he's nasty whenever Lionpaw interacts with her;

Ashfur hates Willowpelt, because of the events from Ferncloud's Parting. He isn't aggressive to her directly, but he does spread rumors and slander whenever possible, happy to remind others of her exile.

Lionpaw getting close to Willowpelt will annoy him. Ashfur both hates and resents his apprentice, but also feels POSSESSIVE of him. He feels like Willowpelt will "steal" what's his.

A simple but hard truth; Ashfur wants Lionpaw to hurt. Maybe Ashfur sees it in his head like "telling the hard truth" or "toughening his apprentice up," but when he makes those malicious little comments, makes him recoil with hurt, it feels righteous.

Maybe in the next draft, it should actually be Ashfur, not Blackclaw, who comes to growl at Lionpaw for bonding with Lakepaw over the spears. Maybe have Willowpelt come in to show them how to properly use one and that's actually what set Ash off. Like he just used xenophobia because it was convenient in that moment.

#Also I have been waffling on where BB!Willowpelt dies #But I've realized I need her around for a good part of Po3 #She has a really juicy history now and the dynamics are playing out too well to just pass over. She's too useful to be fodder.#And since I want her around for early Po3 it makes the most sense for her to hang on just long enough to eventually be succeeded by Lion #And if she dies sometime in BB!OotS it's REALLY convenient to fill the 6-month timeskip between Cruel Season and The Beaver Mission with it #Like Lion and Jay threw themselves into work to stay busy while mourning their sister #Plus she can purr and say she's excited that Lion is her grandson-in-law now when he gets with Cinder #See what I mean? It just works out too well if she hangs on a bit longer.#ANYWAY yeah good on you for catching that tiny nugget. mr house never being able to replicate his courier six because they never let him scan them, so all he has are a few shoddy recordings he took to recreate the courier from. his replicas of courier six are flawed: none are as perceptive, resourceful and proactive. they aren't good at out-of-the-box thinking or improvising. their problemsolving, diplomacy skills and technological innovation ideas fall short of the original and are just another disappointment every time. they end up hollow shells like jane, marilyn and victor. letting new vegas go, ruin itself in pursuit of recreating his perfect right hand again, hope for another fruitful partnership and bright future of the mojave like they did before is so delicious it makes me sick actually send tweet ✌

Keith has seen in black and white his entire life. He knows that this means that somewhere out there is his soulmate, his other half, his perfect match, the person whose touch will allow him to see the world in color. Keith has no desire to meet them, however. From the moment he understood what seeing in grayscale meant, he wore gloves to avoid touching anything or anyone directly. When he came to the Garrison and started seeing splashes of color, he ignored them, hoping to delay the inevitable meeting. Keith thinks he’s safe after being booted from the Garrison, but when a Garrison cadet interrupts him from rescuing Shiro, all that changes.

i do like the general concept of dot and bubble but rtd please hire Black writers, i'm begging you.

#idk i think the episode would have worked better in a future season so we can first have a more serious episode abt racism #and the doctor's experience without bringing it up for basically the first time in this era as a twist ending #and i know that Gatwa was still busy on Sex Education and couldn't be a lead in every episode but it feels wrong to not center the dr here #and a continued problem i have with doctor who is whenever they bring up real world discrimination and not just Scifi Allegory #they seem to either a) have it be dismissed without a discussion (The Shakespeare Code) or #b) make it so over the top that it doesn't actually feel connected to the real world (which happened a few times with 13 and misogyny iirc)#idk maybe i'm just complaining abt nothing. other people seemed to like it more #dw negativity #i guess #my posts #dw spoilers

Ngl youtube videos suddenly got me slowly turning into a Justin Russo hater.

#like mainly later seasons him #early seasons him is fine #but like i guess plot wise you could argue he becomes more iffy because you know the competition will be soon #and justin does want to become the family wizard #as for some reason this show still never fully tackled the fucked up shit of the idea that wizard siblings have to grow up studying magic #only for one or two or whatever number siblings to lose it to one sibling in a competition #like stevie was the closest we got to that #but like it still dont make it less bad with how justin was #like the worst example i can name is him literally refusing to save alex whose his sister btw and shes always dropped shit to save him #because he wants to project onto her that she purposely fucked up his chances to get back into the competition via #pushing the students to take the test only for them to be failed because bad guy being bad guy in reality #and basically blames her for the failure and such as a result and acts like its all an act when she is mad on the students behalf and shit #and his students have to drag him kicking and screaming just to save her from the bad guy's shit #and there's also the competition itself where harper and zeke get grabbed by a creature during it #but alex has to convince her brothers to save the two and thats just cold already on justins end with zeke #but cause they took too long they all lose the competition and magic #and both brothers especially justin proceed to treat alex like shit even during work hours meaning #fucking over family business just to get at alex #and when the dad ultimately almost sells the place justin STILL blames alex #like she was the only one working fully max was being max and justin was being a little bitch to her #aka the infamous refusing to make her orders only max's and when he does he throws the sandwich at her #and cause she was holding drinks at the time and didnt see it coming the drinks went on a customer #and also throwing table trash into her already full bin shes carrying around while cleaning tables #and therefore messing it up for her like #and alex's logo...well from sounds of shit thats just justin again being a hateful bitch to his sister with zero consquiences #even one commenter pointing how he sadistically smiled while telling her all her friends hate her #like dear god if the show was doing this to make everyone root for alex its working i hate later season justin #gonna be interesting if hes matured or not as an adult

looking at the leafs fanbase & realising that most people have never watched a team sport before becoming a leafs fan and finally realising that’s why people act the way they do.

#morgan rielly i am side-eyeing you #this isn’t a shot it’s just mind boggling to me how some people genuinely do not believe this comes down to being a business #at the end of the day.#the fact the core have lasted as long as they have without the success to back it up would NEVER happen in any other sport/team #but because it’s happening in toronto & most people don’t know how team sports on a broad scale works #this is just seen as normal. its not lol.#most executives give you a window of like maybe 3 years max to try and get a championship once you have good players & if it doesn’t happen #someone or multiple people get traded like thats just how it works #i think people overreact because its toronto but people overreact because they’re exhausted theyve put up with almost a decade of this core #with literally nothing but 1 singular playoff round to show for it #so forgive people for reading into it #i’ve been here over 12 months only and i’m concerned i cannot imagine what it’s like for seasoned leafs fans

well everyone now that sparkstember is over i can now devote my energy to being insane in other still sparks-related ways

#planning my next projects #on the one hand glad to not have to get a whole video done in the span of like 2 hours every day #on the other hand it was a fun creative challenge that gave me a sense of purpose. it was fun #but i need to keep myself busy as we descend into winter and ✨seasonal depression✨#if i dont get it done today over the next couple days im going to make something silly for goofball's upcoming birthday #and then once that's done i dont know. i want to get back to work on my screenplay and try to FINISH IT!! but idk how long that'll take #i also have to finally finish watching that film course i bought oops. maybe ill start it over #and then?????????#i have a vague Idea of a possible short film i could make. that would also be like a kind of prequel to my Main Film Idea #and its something i could actually reasonably do as a short film and its not like insanely big budget like every other idea i have is #and I'm debating abt emailing my old film teacher and being like heyyyyy maybe you could help me make this short film????#but id want to have this idea way more planned out and written before then. but OUGH WRITING ANOTHER SCREENPLAY???#WHEN I HAVEN'T EVEN FINISHED MY FIRST ONE??? sigh.#the road to making my Big Great Movie is long and arduous. will we get there. who knows #oh also debating abt writing a letter to those silly guys. but i don't knowwwww #OH lmao i keep forgetting to mention i finally got my passport (it actually came earlier than expected)#so like. goodbye everyone im heading to the sydney opera house on halloween (JOKE i am not that insane. but i wish i could)

I sure do love to go to the thrift store and acquire things!! Today I got a broken (?) little wooden music box, a couple pieces of fabric (one dark pink cotton jacquard and one dark brown and gold sari silk) and also a plate with a picture of the Hartland covered bridge on it. That's the longest covered bridge in the world, and I've walked across it, and now I can eat sandwiches off it's monochromatic blue image.

#hi yeah yes i AM slightly tipsy at the moment sorry!#OH i also got 4 little packs of gold plated sewing needles!! and another plate that has Green Gables on it #but that;s in a different province from me so marginally less exciting even though I do love the 1980's anne of green gables series #just had another hecking busy week at work (because it is prom & wedding season and I am Suit Alterations Tailor #but now it is weekend and I have 2 days of no things #yay!! Maybe I will work a bit more on my shirt and some drawing!#I wish I had more space to put things. if I did I would go to the thrift store even more often and obtain even more delightful candlesticks #and also more silver plated goblets. I'd have a whole corridor of shelves with all my fancy little metal thrift store goblets #thrifting #hey did you nkow that all aclohol tastes bad and yucky and you can only hide it in lots of fruit juice and stuff???#this is a fact I know but learn all over again every frew several months #blergh!#speking of which! fun fact: I am a balding old man of 27 and when I got to the beverage store with a hat I get asked for ID usually #but never when I have no hat!#today I had a leafkerchief on my head which I have been wearing a lot lately for balding head reasons and also cause #of those dang sebaceous cysts upion my scalp that are so lumpy and numerous (4) and unsighlty #unSIGHTLy I mean #UGH the surgery people said I'd hear back about an appointment in a month and it's been almost 3! Im only on season 1, so pardon me if this has been explained or at least acknowledged, but why the fuck are the brothers still in school? Its been on my mind for ages now because they’re how old? Literal eons? Okay, how long does it take to graduate from education? 20ish years? Okay cool, how the fuck are they still in the education system. Are they dumb? Are they teachers? Are they there to relearn information as technology and science has evolved over the years?? What the fuck are they doing??
