Letzen Samstag hat es die Dichtung meiner Wasserpumpe vermutlich entschärft. 🥺🤔 Und wir wissen ja alle selber das man da total unentspannt ist wenn das Auto etwas hat. Also hab ich alle Hebel in Bewegung gesetzt und @voelzis_garage hat gesagt: jo komm Sonntag rum, das kriegen wir hin. Selbst da war ich noch etwas unentspannt und aufgeregt. 🙈🤔 Die Reparatur ging recht fix an dieser Stelle möchte ich mich nochmal bedanken, das alles so super geklappt hat! hello! as a celebration of me finally getting my driving license (shoutout to my instructor, he is an absolute saint and has forever changed my perspective on cars and car nerds), i thought i'd ask about your opinion on the cars my family owns — the Škoda Fabia I (the specific one we have is a combi from late 2004. slowly perishing, mainly of rust) and Kia Cee'd (2013??). is there anything remarkable about these two?

Ah, the Ceed, as Kia cowardly renamed it in 2018, in a decision I deliberately reject as I keep on referring to it as Cee apostrophe d, as Top Gear liked to call the earlier model they gave celebrities to go try to get themselves killed on tape, Tom Cruise getting the closest because of course it would be him.

Notice how nary an ounce of steering was given up whatsoever. Man was just balancing the car with the throttle in the true racing driver spirit of "If I die I die and if I don't this'll be a good time".

However, this is a bit of a sidetrack, as that's not your car - that'll be one o' deez, which whether as a 5 door...

...station wagon...

...or its bafflingly named coupe version (Pro_Cee'd????)...

...looks sharp as a goddamn tack in my books. In fact, wanna know how that's not just cheap flattery? That station wagon was actually the car I was pushing for our family to get when ours needed changing! Life didn't grace us with the opportunity, however, and so we ended up replacing our grey Citroën Picasso MPV with another (the ole' Xsara Picasso to C4 Picasso pipeline) which served us decently over a couple years before developing woes and getting passed on to family friends more willing to deal with them. Weird car, that C4 Picasso. Most of the steering wheel didn't turn.

Now, you may ask why those French folx would do that. And the answer is in the word French. I can just imagine the designers asking feedback about the handbrake and getting all giddy as they look at them struggle to figure out where it is. Actually, go on, you try!

Wait, wait, we're once again getting sidetracked, we've still not addressed the Fabia! And that's a crime, because it was a hugely important car for Škoda: as Volkswagen's involvement with the company had turned from shareholder to owner its involvement in the cars had turned from help to codevelopment, making the Fabia a humongous departure from Škodas of old. However, for the latest Octavia, no closer to those hunksajunk, the rave reviews had been no match against Škoda's brand image, which was so terrible that even Wikipedia feels comfortable saying they were laughing stocks.

So for the Fabia, Škoda turned to marketing agency Fallon London for a very bold advertising campaign. So bold in fact that I didn't even stumble into it through my passion for cars, but through my study of marketing. And it's so simple you could miss it. (...it's in the lower right.)

This simple idea, and how hard they doubled down on it...

...completely turned Skoda's fortunes around, in a brand repositioning so successful that all of Fallon's Škoda-related ads received awards. Including this one.

That's not even an ad for Škoda. That's an ad for themselves.

Opinion on the Trekka?

The Trekka is a curious case, now they are considered to be collectable classics and Škoda counts them amongst their significant historic models. They were a New Zealand only light utility vehicle made by the local Škoda importer based on the first generation Octavia. The rear wheel drive Octavia chassis and drivetrain (with 1,221cc 4 cylinder engine) were imported from then communist Czechoslovakia and fitted with the NZ-made bodywork and trim. They exist because in New Zealand at the time agricultural vehicles attracted no tariffs so the Trekka could significantly undercut imported rivals which were subject to high tariffs and import restrictions. In all around 2,500 were made in pick-up and hardtop station wagon form.

In New Zealand in the early 70s I was a child growing up on my parent's farm in the rural South Island. Our neighbours had a Trekka and locally it was something of a joke with bits always falling off it and often breaking down. This was at a time when other Škodas models were poorly made and were themselves something of a joke (how do you double the value of a Škoda? Fill it with petrol). So the reputation of the Trekka has gone from zero to plucky little hero over the decades. They remain the only New Zealand designed, developed and manufactured vehicles to enter sustained series production (they were made between 1966 and 1973).

Should you buy a Skoda Octavia? (Test Drive & Review 2013 - 2020 1.5 TSI)

P.S. One of the last intelligently designed ICE vehicles in Europe! It does exactly what it was designed to do exceptionally well and doesn't break your bank account...! Now almost no one else makes anything like this...Now the new ICE vehicles are much more expensive and their maintenance and repair costs are sky high...

I'm so happy we have a Peugeot 205 now. Its so nice seeing an 80s icon in the game. We don't have enough older cars especially if you're like me and like to play with different decades. A few things cannot be changed on it but it is cool to have in the game. I wish we could have more older cars especially the Mercedes-Benz W124, Rover SD1, Škoda Octavia Mk1, Honda Legend, Honda Accord fifth generation, SAAB 99, Subaru Impreza WRX P1, and Mitsubishi Evolution V. Like the SAAB 900 the Peugeot 205 is a highly underrated car.

when did you decide to abandon the queen of the skies. i been offline for a second but also what is skodaoctavia. just looked it up and it's a 5 seater Sedan with the last recorded price of ₹ 27.34 - 30.44 Lakh. It is available in 2 variants, 1984 cc engine option and 1 transmission option : Automatic (DCT). Other key specifications of the Octavia include a Ground Clearance of 137 mm, Kerb Weight of 1430 kg and Bootspace of 600 litres. But why tho

It was an April fools joke because I don't know every single person I know has a škoda Octavia because I am a Czech person. Very Boeing and common car. Which I respect still but I thought it was funny to rep that čs the Queen of the Skies yk.

The reason the April fools has lasted this long is I keep saying ahhh I got planny of time I'll do it later

The only real one I know is a guy who got a drivers license and bought a gray Škoda Octavia only because of getting into MLP back in 2011 and seeing a gray-coated character called Octavia Melody.
