Cheri had known this time would come, but she had once believed that if she had pretended it would never happen, the least it would happen, but her father had been a dying man for a long time, rested by his bed almost every day, and almost every time. Currently, her hand had been in his. She didn’t know if what he had was infectious, but she hadn’t minded if it had taken her with him.
Currently, Cheri had been in his room, accompanied by two of her father’s men, one who had stood near the exit and one who had stood at the opposite side to where she had been standing. Both of them had their hands clasped together, as they had absently watched what had been happening in front of them, as if they had not believed that great Dylan Harley had been on his final day.
“Everything is now yours,” her father had whispered and Cheri clenched his fingers gently, she wanted to be rough with him, clasp him so hard that no one would be able to rip them apart.
With a sad smile, Cheri looked at him with teary eyes. “Thank you for being such a good father, and accepting my mother and I when we came to your doorstep.”
“The colour of your skin, you being half…isn’t going to stop me from loving you,” Dylan shared and as if what he had said had activated her tears to run down her cheeks, Cheri had hugged him.
Her lips had trembled as she struggled to pull her words together. “I’ll always love you papa,” she said before she had given him one last kiss fore, she forcefully pulled herself away from her father, she had turned to his men, her expression bleak as she pulled herself to her feet, she didn’t want to see it, see his eyes rest for the last time, so she had left her father’s room without turning back.
The door had closed behind her and she was met with Cindy, the lover of Matthias Jacobs, the right hand of her father. “Hey baby,” Cindy whispered, her eyes doe as she stood in the corridor with a plate of a dessert in her hand. Cheri didn’t reply, but Cindy had understood and escorted Cheri to her bedroom.
Everyone had understood that Cheri would want to be left alone, though Cindy wouldn’t want her to sleep with an empty stomach. Ever since Cheri had been informed that her father was going to die soon, she had lacked her nutrients, had denied fare or even a drink.
“They’re going to expect you to marry,” Cindy shared and with a sour humoured expression, Cheri looked at her with the side of her eyes.
“They cannot expect me to marry right now,” Cheri said and with a soft pat on her shoulder, Cindy shared a smile with her.
She had gently wriggled her eyebrows with a knowing look on her face. “What about Kyle?”
Kyle Blake, Cheri’s boyfriend. Cheri had contemplated about it but at the end, she had folded her arms. “I’ll need to sleep on it,” Cheri had replied. It had all been too much, the death of her father and now the suggestion to marry?
Cheri needed to rest. “It’ll be quick, I’ll want to bury him tonight, thank you for the food,” Cheri said as she bit into the small cake, respectfully, Cindy had nodded before she watched Cheri enter her room, Cheri had then closed the door behind her.
She was now the head of the family, a responsibility her father had put onto her the minute she was introduced to him, she was first known as his bastard daughter, but Dylan had made sure that the same respect people from the Harley gang had for him, would be shared onto her and her mother, Whitney.
This was a new page for her and it didn’t feel real, but it was now her reality.
ಹ ೀ ಹ
Something had felt wrong, a terrible feeling had developed in her chest like the pit at the end of the waterfall, she had felt it before she had woken up and it had scared her.
It was as if rain had drippled against her, but this time it didn’t feel like the usual tears of clouds but had the texture and smell of dirt, she had felt cold and she had felt the darkness before she could see it, so Cheri had gasped and the taste of grime had been discarded into her mouth and that’s when she knew exactly what had been happening to her.
Cheri was being buried alive.
She had immediately sat up, and turned into a duration of panic. “Stop!” She had screamed as she looked up from the hole she was buried into, the shape of the hole was formed into a poorly shaped circle, to mirror the lack of care they had felt for her. They never did, Cheri had realised, it was an appearance just for her father, Cheri had quickly pondered if they had felt the world lift off their shoulders when her father finally died.
“Bring me back up, immediately!” Cheri cried out and to reveal themselves, Matthias and Cindy looked over the hole, they didn’t dig her too low but they had felt thousands of yards away, unreachable as if someone had tried to capture a star.
Matthias had a look on his face, ominous and arrogant, the usual expression he usually worn whenever he walked behind Dylan. Cindy on the other hand had an expressionless face, and with the amount of dirt that had been in her eyes, Cheri couldn’t focus too long on what the look on Cindy’s face must’ve been without wiping the grime out of her eyes every two seconds.
“I’m sorry Cheri, can’t get a mulatto to get all of that money,” Matthias said before he used a shovel to rudely throw more dirt onto her, Cheri had gagged at the taste and had whipped her head back to spit out the mud that was chucked onto her, now aware that she had not been alone in the hole, but was accompanied by the body of her deceased father.
She screamed. Screamed so loud as if there was no one around her to hear it, her wail like a prayer for someone to save her, and it was as if God had finally answered one of her cries, her prayer she had thought would be her final one when violent sounds of bullets being split into the air had commenced.
She had gasped and covered her mouth, Matthias and Cindy had jolted away from the scenario, the shovel had hit the outside ground and ricocheted into the hole. Cheri had jolted backwards and pulled her paws away from her mouth, she only had two options, to silence herself and wait for the shooting to stop, or use the circumstance to cry out for help.
“Help!” Cheri nervously cried out, and immediately two men looked over the poorly shaped gap. One white man and another one had been Indigenous.
She had never seen them before so, Cheri had promptly thought of them to be new people to Valentine. Immediately they quickly formed a human chain to pull her out, and thankful, Cheri released a great sigh once she had felt their hands grip around her, she had leaned against one them, the white man who had immediately consoled her, he had been soft with the way he had patted her shoulders and had then brought her into a hug.
He was beautiful, but there was a huge essence of resolve and ominous energy to him, he had much hair to him, light-brown threads with blue eyes, with a scar near his chin. He had worn dark clothing that complimented his appearance.
“What happened?” He had asked once Cheri had let him go, his hands were still on her shoulders, he had examined her so intensely that Cheri had felt embarrassed.
She couldn’t picture how dirty she must’ve looked, but there was a twinkle in his eyes as if he shortly admired what he had looked at, who had been in front of him. Like a lotus flower. Beautiful no matter how dishevelled she had appeared.
“Th-they tried to bury my with my father, he’s dead,” she nervously breathed out. “But they wanted all my money I inherited,” Cheri explained and now accompanied by another man, an elegant man, and had appeared rich with many golden rings.
He had eyed Cheri as if she was a lost kitten, and truthfully, Cheri couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable by the way he gazed at her. “Arthur,” the man said. “Help her get on your horse,” he had ordered and without question, the blonde man who she had known to be Arthur gently took a hold of her again and led Cheri to mount his stallion.
“What about her home?” Another man questioned, it was the darker-skinned man, just like Arthur, the man had a scar on his face, he was very big, muscular and had long flowy hair. He had looked at Cheri with a look of sympathy and Cheri had wondered if she had looked like the perfect damsel in distress.
“There’s worthy stuff in there they probably stole,” Cheri replied, her voice croakier than she had expected it to be. “Nothing there matters anymore.”
She was now passed a shawl, and Cheri gripped the fabric around her tight and then curiously scanned the area, there were a few more men that had been around the area, most of them had been away from her to give Cheri the distance she needed. She had been so hurt and scared, that she didn’t realise how windy it was. The man that Cheri had automatically thought to be the leader walked towards her.
“Don’t worry, we’ll take care of you,” he said and with a short nod, Cheri gently thanked him.
“Thank you,” she whispered before she had softly leaned herself against Arthur who readied his horse to walk.

This! This is a Photo of the Haunted Mansion Fence Overlooking Tom Sawyer Island in Disney World.
'Okay but why'
Well When I was a wee kiddo about 6-8. I was a bit of a hazard to myself. Like I shouldn't have made it to ten several times. Drank perfume, licked a stain stick, ate plants I shouldn't have.
And got my head stuck on two occasions. One of them was in my grandma's car. and the other was right here!
'how the hell did you-'
Yeah I was looking at ducklings and stuck my head in the fence like a ding dong.
Caused a whole panic in the line, My mom was freaking out, her friend was freaking out, my friends at the time were confused! we're trying to get my head out. And this guy who didn't speak English comes over and acts like some Hercules who's gonna pull the bars apart! Would have been hella cool if he did but he couldn't.
Not even like two seconds after he tried, I got out on my own. I just had to push my ears in and we went about our day.
And that's the story of why you don't go sticking your head into fences kiddos.

“So, your father had control over Valentine?”
They had listened to what Ms. Grimshaw had said and had left Cheri alone for a couple of days before they had questioned her, it had been both Dutch and Hosea, Cheri had already known who Dutch was, a charismatic two-faced leader, while the man beside him was Hosea, an older man, Cheri had been unsure who had been older, Hosea or the other old man she had seen previously, named Strauss.
Hosea appeared to be a kinder soul, religious and wise, Cheri had been surprised a man like him had been in a connection with a gang such as the Van Der Lindes, but once Cheri had turned around aside from the men, she saw women and children, all who had been pulled into Dutch’s flaky hope about a paradise. They were unsure if they were going to Tahiti or Australia.
“Basically, he just had a lot of money and it won people over,” Cheri replied. She was leant against a thick body of a tree, arms folded as she tiredly looked at the two men who had sat in front of her, her long eyelashes coated her eyes from the blazing Sun but she had still felt the heat of the star warm her skin, perhaps after this she’d buy herself a hat.
“One of the girls told me of the plan some of you are going to do, hijack the train going to Brazil,” Cheri then said as she gently pulled herself to stand up, the back of her shoes stained by the dry mud from the camp floor. “I want to make a deal with you, Dutch,” she spilled and unsure, the two men briefly shared looks.
“Well come on,” Dutch encouraged, he had leant over, elbows gently dug into the thickness of his lap.
Cheri had then spoke. “They took much money from me, millions,” the dark-haired woman explained. “If you guys help me, get my money back, I will give you much of the sum, half of it,” she shared, and she looked at their faces, her own one serious.
“How do we know you’re telling the truth?” Dutch had asked, his tone in disbelief, but the look Cheri had saw glint in his eyes, he had wanted it to be true. “How can we trust you to not run away with the money you’re promising?”
Cheri had then licked her lips; his point was valid. She had gently patted the pad of her index against the fold of her arms and gently thought about it. “If I run off with the money, you guys can do whatever you want to me, kill me,” the Harley suggested. “Then with that, you guys can get all of the money.”
There had been a surprise of silence but Cheri had not allowed their quietness to make her feel anxious. “Deal?” The lady proposed and with a brief tuck of his lip, Hosea had sat up, right hand balled and rested against his knee.
Cheri had believed she had nothing to live for, her parents were gone and her inheritance was stolen. Though, Cheri had thought, her death being in the hands of the people that saved her was poetic.
With a dry smile, Dutch reached to shake her hand. “Deal.”
ಹ ೀ ಹ
It was usually looked down upon, women wearing trousers or pants, but Cheri had thought that both her and Sadie looked like they were put in their big sister’s clothing with the dresses they were wearing. Cheri did like wearing dresses, though the freedom of being able to wear trousers was what she had missed.
The adrenaline she’d get whenever she’d climb a tree, or jump in the river almost naked when she was young, her parents used to find her behaviour comedic while others looked down on them for raising a, “savage”. Lower lips tucked behind her teeth, Cheri had made way to Sadie who had hidden herself against a tree, likely to get away from the ecstatic energy the camp usually had.
“What do you want?” Sadie had asked and with her hands on her hips, Cheri made way to stand in front of Sadie.
“Wanna do some shooting?” Cheri offered and with her once folded arms, there had been a glint that danced in Sadie’s eyes which had caused Cheri to bite back a laugh.
“You now have my entire attention,” Sadie smiled and appreciative, Cheri walked to stand beside Sadie.
The two women had then commenced to walk further down the camp, they had carefully dodged Jake who excitedly ran around the area. Jake, the young son of Abigail and allegedly John Marston, the three of them were usually main talk of the camp, John who Sadie had told Cheri, was one of Arthur’s closest friends, repeatedly denied the concept of Jake being his son, his reason was because Abigail was a prostitute.
“Arthur and Hosea have gone bear hunting, it gave me an idea of wanting to hunt, but I wanted a partner,” Cheri explained as they made it to the horses. “I asked around, most of the women don’t hunt, and I heard about your situation and I know you heard about mine, we both need smoke to blow.”
It had appeared as if Hosea and Arthur hadn’t left yet, as Hosea had been the first to notice the women climb up the horses, the older man stretched his leg as he stood up straight, his eyelashes carefully protected his eyes from the bright sun, yet, to make sure he had been correct on what he had been seeing. Hosea shadowed his eyes with the edge of his hand fore he called out to them. “Now what are you two ladies doing in this fine morning?”
“Arthur can’t always be the one doing the hunting,” Sadie said as she patted her horse, and with a smile, Cheri gently raked her fingers through the hair of the spare horse that previously had been hitched.
Unsure, Arthur moved his gaze from Sadie to Cheri. “You know how to use a gun?”
Cheri frowned. “Yes,” she said in an offended tone.
“Are you sure you know how to use a gun?” Arthur asked and insulted, Cheri twisted her face, her hands gripped around the reigns of the horse she mounted, and Sadie couldn’t help but laugh at the expression on her face.
“Yes,” Cheri said. “You barely know me for you to be asking me that question.”
With a smug look on his face, Arthur fixed the hat on his head. “Touche.”
ಹ ೀ ಹ
“The girls say you have a lover,” Sadie began, they hadn’t been too far from the camp and currently, there was a  comfortable silence but both women had itched to speak to one another. Though, Sadie had contemplated that Cheri might be tired of hearing what happened to her and her father.
Cheri smiled, she had looked ahead but could feel the way Sadie had looked at her, with a speck of caution and curiosity, she could then feel the way Sadie looked away from her as she awkwardly coughed. “His name is Kyle,” Cheri explained. “Belongs to a good family…”
Eyebrow’s arched, Sadie easily heard how low Cheri’s voice became when she said the word, ‘good’, and awkwardly, Cheri tucked her lower lip behind her teeth, she could feel the silent question Sadie had shared.
Her green eyes highlighted by the sun, so her curious expression had been clearer. Cheri had thought her eyes were pretty, and had briefly lost herself in them, so when she turned away from her gaze, Cheri spoke once more. “His family don’t really accept me because I’m half coloured.”
“That sucks,” Sadie said. “I’m sorry.”
Cheri dryly side smiled as she shrugged. “Kyle treats me fine, so I’m okay,”
“I was told what happened to you,” Cheri had then shared. “About the fire and how Dutch took you in.”
Sadie hummed as she twisted to look at her knuckles, she had then calmly joked. “It seems like Dutch has a thing for Damsels in Distress,” Sadie said as she had screwed her face. “But I ain’t no damsel.”
Inspired, Cheri had smiled at her, even if Sadie had worn clothes that didn’t not fit her appearance, Cheri could still see that Sadie Adler, was as tough as nails.
They had eventually arrived to the spot that was said to be good for hunting food. Cheri had been first to jump off her horse, she had hitched it to a tree as Sadie followed. When Cheri pulled out her gear, the red-head glanced at the brunette. “What are we huntin’?” Sadie asked as they dragged their feet against the short grass, Cheri briefly examined the area, took in how much there had been wildlife and had grinned.
“Whatever we think the camp should eat,” Cheri responded as she had then found a good place to spot and shoot their food, the two women positioned themselves on part of the land most of the animals wouldn’t see them and commenced to release their bullets.
“Where you learn how to shoot?” Sadie asked. “Since you’re a lady and all.”
As kickback, Cheri had smirked fore she had spoken. “My father taught me how to shoot, to protect myself from extremists and all,” Cheri explained and with sorrow, the Harley woman had looked away. Her reality had not felt real, her father gone along with her inheritance, almost buried alive, it felt like a plot from a book.
“It sounds like your father was a good man,” Sadie shared and appreciative Cheri beckoned her head as she re-adjusted her focus on the animals.
“He was.”
Once the two women had finished, they tied their dead food against their horses, the brief motion had been silent, you could hear Sadie’s stomach rumble and hear her mutter about how the food they had caught had been better than what Pearson usually made them chop and cook at the camp.
Cheri had commenced to pull herself up on the horse till she had heard Sadie cuss. “Fucking O’Driscolls!” The woman seethed, and confused, Cheri had curved to see where the woman had looked.
“Who?” Cheri had asked and without second thought, Sadie grabbed her gun once more.
“Get on your horse,” Sadie commanded and Cheri had done so. “Get your gun.”
Cheri’s nose had hastily flared as she quickly grabbed her weapon, she had followed Sadie, and followed to shoot at the men who had wanted to pass. Cheri had been confused, but she had trusted Sadie, the look she had on her face had been adequate with vengeance, her eyes sufficient with boldness and strength of a lioness, Cheri could not help but admire the woman.
The men had started to shoot back, just as confused as Cheri to why they had been attacked, yet once their eyes were set on Cheri, there had been a shift of recognition in their eyes. As if they had seen her before and once they fully understood where they had seen Cheri, one of them had spoken. “The lass was with Arthur Morgan!” The person shouted and immediately their fire force had strengthened.
Nevertheless, the two women had not backed down. They had used their horses to navigate around the land and shoot their bullets into the O’Driscolls’ heads and hearts. “I’ll kill all of you, you fuckers!” Sadie screamed and Cheri had not said anything, but had quickly understood that the O’Driscolls were a rival gang to the Van Der Linde, and that Sadie had hated them with her entire heart.
The two of them had not left until there had been no more O’Driscolls alive and breathing, Cheri had been surprised on what she had done, still, she couldn’t lie to herself and think that she didn’t feel good. To release her grief and anger, to imagine what she would do when she saw the Jesters.
Sadie had then wiped forehead sweat from the back of her hand before she put her gun away. “Let’s go,” she said and behind her, Cheri had trailed Sadie back to the camp.
ಹ ೀ ಹ
Cheri had worn one of her nice clothes, hands gripped against the fabric of her dress, Cheri had gently walked up the stairs that led to Kyle’s home. He had been on his porch, a book in his hands and a story he had seemed to be invested in, but when he had looked up to see Cheri, the man had immediately closed the book.
“My love,” Kyle had smiled, he had reached out to her, scanned the calm smile Cheri had on her face when she joined hands with him. The both of them had kissed, it was short but loving. “I’ve been waiting to do that with you.”
The front door of his home had opened, and before Cheri could have the blessing to speak, her eyes had landed onto his parents, they had both stood beside each other, and awkwardly, Cheri had pulled her hands away from Kyle. His father, Ben, had been the first to speak. “Cheri,” he waved. “Come in, we’re having dinner.”
Hastily, Cheri and Kyle had glanced at each other. Kyle had a look on his face that had embodied encouragement, though Cheri had known how’d dinner would end. Sarah, Kyle’s mother had turned around and left to the kitchen, and as Kyle’s father gracelessly scratched the back of his head, so Cheri smiled at him as she accepted his offer. “Sure, thank you.”
Kyle had been the one to close the door behind them, and as the three of them had sat down, Sarah had been the one to set down the fare. “We shall say our Grace,” Sarah had said and respectfully, Cheri had joined their short prayer.
“How strong is your faith, Cheri?” Sarah had asked when they all began to eat.
“As strong as I hope,” the younger woman smiled.
Unmoved, Sarah had sat up on her seat. The woman had looked exactly like Kyle, but instead of the warm and loving look Kyle usually had when he looked at Cheri, Sarah’s eyes were cold and disapproving. “A woman of God shouldn’t be hanging around people like those gang members.”
With her tongue held back, Cheri had glanced at her food. Disappointed that Kyle had told his family about her association with the Van Der Lindes. Not that Cheri had been embarrassed to be with them, the critique of his family intimidated her, due to the fact that it usually stemmed from racism. On the other hand, Cheri had not been surprised that Kyle had told his mother, he was a mama’s boy.
As she shortly breathed, Cheri beckoned his head. “You’re right,” Cheri said and she started to eat.
“Mother, please leave her alone,” Kyle pleaded and unimpressed, Sarah shrugged her shoulders.
“Alright,” the lady muttered and as Cheri quietly thanked him, her partner had winked at her. “I’m sorry for what had happened to your father,” Sarah expressed and thankful that she had decided to be kind.
“Thank you,” Cheri had acknowledged, aware of the unsure look Ben had on his face, as if he had been aware something was going to happen.
Cheri had recognised the expression Ben had on his face and had looked back at his wife. “Your father was a good man,” Sarah approved. “Especially for accepting a coloured child,” she confidently said and surprised, Kyle coughed in shock as an awkward silence cloaked the room. “If you pro-created with Kyle, it would be a blessing for you because his blood will wash down the coloured.”
Silent, Cheri put down her cutlery before she laughed in amazement. “I’m sorry Kyle, I just can’t,” she said as she lifted herself off the seat. Without looking at her lover, Cheri picked up her dress as she quickly made it out of is home, aware that Kyle had called for her.
Kyle had sent a look of disapproval to his mother ere he quickly made it to his feet. “Cheri!” He called once more, desperate to put a stop to her disappearance.
He grabbed her arm and gently pulled Cheri close to him. Cheri who didn’t realise a tear slipped down her cheek had looked away from him, she ad felt the way her partner had guided his hands around her waist, his face apologetic as he then moved his hands to clasp her face. “Cheri, please be patient with my mother.”
“I’ve been patient with her long enough,” Cheri snapped, eyes finally locked with his. “I can’t do it anymore,” she expressed, her eyes conveyed with exhaustion. She had wanted to leave, but knew that her Kyle was stubborn. So Stubborn
Kyle furrowed his eyebrows and had feathered his touch against her skin. “You can’t break up with me,” he said, surprised that Cheri had thought of the result of disconnecting with him, and with a tired bounce of her shoulders, Cheri pulled away from him, her focus locked on the natural sounds of Valentine, the sound of carriages, the hooves and neighs of horses, it had reminded her of the camp, and that was where she had wanted to be.
“I—I just don’t know, Kyle, I need time to myself,” Cheri said and with a couple of steps backwards, the woman had turned around and walked down the steps of his porch before she left, and when she had walked away, the Harley woman had felt the eyes of Kyle press into her back, but with her entire strength, she didn’t turn to look back at him.

Cheri had quickly taken favour of the cliff back at camp, she had wondered if this was God had felt, looking down at Earth and seeing light and the small motion of the living, how beautiful it had been, life and movement, she had worn a shawl, a black one she had protectively worn around herself. Cheri had been lazy to wipe her tears, yet when she heard the footsteps of one of the camp members near towards her, the young woman hastily used the fabric of her shawl to wipe away her cries.
She turned to look back at who walked towards her, and there was Arthur. Cheri couldn’t help but smile with the side of her mouth, but he didn’t see.
“You’re like a mosquito,” the lady said and with a shy smile and Arthur continued to walk towards her.
“Words going around that you and Sadie encountered the O’Driscolls,” Arthur said.
Cheri nodded her head as she could feel the soft warmness of his physique stand beside her, he had overlooked the cliff but had focused his perspective towards the large Moon that had gazed down at them. The full circle of the celestial had glinted against their skin, highlighted them like moonflowers.
“I didn’t know you were enemies with them,” Cheri shared and as he held the buckle of his belt and moved the weight of his body on his left leg, he had looked at Cheri, who didn’t look at him, he could tell she was lost in her own mind, as if she was trapped by a perplexed puzzle.
“I was right about questioning both you and Sadie,” Arthur said and with a frown, Cheri twisted her figure to look at him.
She had then snorted. “We handled them with ease.”
“Oh, so, did you?” Arthur smirked and with a smile, Cheri scrunched her nose.
“Now, there’s enough food to keep the camp full for a couple of weeks,” Cheri said.
With a brief thought, Arthur had then folded his arms. “Maybe next time it can be the two of us hunting.”
Cheri hummed as she took in his idea. “I like Sadie as a hunting partner,” Cheri responded and briefly graceless to her swift rejection, Arthur scratched the back of his head.
“Is the reason why you were crying because of trouble in paradise?” Arthur questioned, and surprised, Cheri’s eyes quickly widened. She had been told once that it was always obvious whenever she cried, her nose and the bag of her eyes would form a cherry undertone.
Embarrassed, Cheri clenched her jaw. “Sadie said that you went to visit Kyle after you dropped the food at the camp,” Arthur said.
“I’m not crying,” Cheri lied and unmoved, Arthur arched the right of his eyebrow.
He unfolded his arms, as if he was about to reach to hug her, though he had recognised that Cheri was a woman who had liked her boundaries. “Cheri, the camp has many women, I know when a lady is trying to hide her tears.”
Cheri looked over the cliff once more. “It has nothing to do with you,” Cheri said as she readied herself to leave, but as he ghastly attempted reached for her, Arthur called her name.
“Cheri---”
“Goodnight, Mr. Morgan,” Cheri cut off as she fixed her shawl around her body, she had a look on her face that had informed Arthur she had not wanted to speak about it, and quiet, Arthur softly clenched his fingers, respectful of her needs.
‘Goodnight, Cheri,” he whispered as he watched her leave to her tent.

ℛ - Are you religious? and ಹ - Share a story from your childhood!
Yet Another Munday Meme
//ℛ I wanted to attach information about religion in Finland for context and I'm just gonna drop this line from Wikipedia because oh my gosh it's so funny to me that the percent is exactly that
"Finland is a predominantly Christian nation where 66.6% of the Finnish population of 5.5 million are members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland--"
Anyway no, I'm not religious. I've received the religious education that's mandatory for everyone who belongs to church, but I resigned once I was an adult.
ಹ Let's see... I can't remember the exact age, but I was just a little kid at the time. I was in this market event outdoors and I had an air balloon in my hand (the kind that was filled with helium). I took a look at some Donald Duck comic books that were on sale, and I was so focused on them that I accidentally let go of the balloon and it floated up in the air. At the same time, someone or some people launched this kind of small rocket, I guess it was some kind of a hobby thing? And the man that was selling food in the next booth pointed at my balloon and went "Look at that, it's going faster than the rocket!" (I'm sure it wasn't, but it looked that way from our angle). And then he gave me a salmon steak for free because of it. At older age I realized he probably did that so I wouldn't cry after losing my balloon, but that memory has just really stick with me - I'll always remember how happy it made me and how kind he was.//
