thick wires, barbed or not, cross your body, tangled and bent. your body has adjusted to the ache, although 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 and you have to adjust once again. ( please do not adjust. ) let your blood boil, and bide your time. tighten your relations, making new ropes, soft and sweet. when the time is right, and you MUST make sure it is, cut through the wire. 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘳𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘣𝘶𝘳𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨, perhaps even forever, but that is normal. keep that in your mind.

˗˗ ˚ · 👁️🗨️ [ 𝑿𝑬𝑹𝑶𝑿 ; ] ... ( 𝘈𝘜𝘛𝘖𝘔𝘈𝘛𝘐𝘖𝘕 𝘈𝘜 𝘏𝘌𝘈𝘋𝘊𝘈𝘕𝘖𝘕𝘚. )
xerox felt lied to after finding out just who and what they were. they felt used by old man consequences, and by fredbear. as a result they took all their anger out on them and others -- innocents.
they were then consequently thrown to the void to decay and fade. however, they heard the call of something more. something else. beyond the void they found a means of communicating with someone who wanted to discover more about the afterlife. they were happy to provide as long as they helped them out of the void.
this lead to xerox guiding henry via radios and tvs they could manipulate, assisting him and feeding him valuable information about how souls and the afterlife work as a whole. eventually, it came time for his thesis and with assistance he was able to produce a spirit. and quite a powerful one. one driven by spite. xerox.
of course, xerox made an oath to lie and act as though they were an unknown spirit. as they did not want to risk henry losing what he’d rightfully earned. from there it was all downhill.
perhaps for a short time, life got better. the work they did together was revolutionary. though it was always clear henry was the one driving the mission, with xerox at his side whispering and chattering or lurching to the defense.
though as time passed, stagnations and stratification became far worse. the world begins to decay upon itself with xerox and henry at the top of the pile.
hawaii is lost to pollution, but that’s okay because xerox managed to save a portion of some privatized island for henry to relax at when he wants to. they do know how he loves his sunshine and beach shirts. and they love a good margarita every now and then.
all that aside, there are some differences between main verse xerox as a result of this path :
- their ichor has changed, fueled by spite and because their physical body is still alive ( or was rather ) it shifted their dark remnant into something more toxic, vile.
- while main verse xerox attempts to seem less scary and has less of a hold on their abilities as a result of not using them much. this xerox knows well what they’re capable of and always seeks to push their abilities further. they also make themselves more intimidating in front of everyone except one person ... said person being doctor miller of course. not because they care, but because they respect him and don’t what him to take it as a threat.
- they remember their own voice and thereby can attempt to use it, it’s still garbled and mixed with their distorted voice but they can do it. however, they don’t LIKE using it. they think it makes them sound human. weak. and it’s also incredibly vulnerable and way too intimate to use for anyone for their tastes. yuck.
- they’re quite used to how the partnership goes. they don’t get blood on doctor miller and they assist him in his endeavors in managing those who seek out his services. he is one of the most important people in the world. they are, however, a bit overprotective. they don’t take kindly to people who don’t have appointments, nor those who seek to waste the good doctor’s time.
- they prefer to keep dr. miller at the distance they’ve both afforded each other. it’s comfortable. it’s safe. there’s no talk of any moments of weakness either have after it’s hashed out. just the way xerox likes it.
- they don’t know about timelines like main verse xerox does. which is a good thing, because if henry turned his sights to showing the multiverse the joy of creation, they would most certainly and overly enthusiastically be at his side to take on the world and spread the message.
- they grow INCREDIBLY bored with life at the top. it’s just not as fun as it was when they were taking the world by storm, causing problems. being an ENFORCER like they enjoy to be. they want something else to chew on.
- should their Earth become uninhabitable, they would without hesitation take dr. miller back to the void to shelter him from it while they sought out another world.
- kindness is met with aggression, they do not trust in it and it freaks them out. of course, being frightened by kindness is no look for the good doctor’s head enforcer and guard dog. and anger is always a more comfortable alternative.
- all that being said, they haven’t told dr. miller everything. some things they’ve done behind his back. things that don’t concern him. things that do concern their previous life. things they have decided he doesn’t need to know.
- studying them or going through their info is off the table. xerox minds their step with allowing the doctor privacy, they expect the same treatment. they’re fine with answering some questions but to be known in any capacity is to give someone the right to kill you and they are quite done playing the fool -- unlike their main verse counterpart.
- the world is unfair. they have learned that the hard way. the world wants to be unfair? fine. they can play the game too, and they don’t intend to lose twice. no more being prey for them. they’re the hunter and they’re more than pleased with being the top dog.
one thing that hasn’t changed though is their taste in music! it’s the one thing they’re at least semi-normal about !

(voidedjoy) ‘ don’t get blood on my floor. ’ - for Sera <3
@voidedjoy
All he gets at first is a humored little huff, and it's . . . surprisingly lighthearted. They suppose there's always bound to be similarities in variants, but the amount of times she's heard her own nag her relentlessly . . .
"Xerox, you're getting blood all over the floors!"
"-- Ugh, Xerox you've gotten blood on my favorite vest."
"-- Xerox, the carpets! --"
Of course, there was the one time he didn't nag her . . .
She had gotten fairly good, in her own defense, at keeping him completely gore free when she worked. Even when he remained in the same room! Oh but he'd get in a huff over the smallest speck of splatter here or there. So to hear him here, now, with such a familiar order. It was . . . familiar. Shaking her head she continues.
❛ O ye of little faith... ❜ She begins, grin ever present. ❛ You have nothing to worry about, I assure you. ❜
Best to leave the rest up to speculation, being distracted so foolishly by sentimentality was a sure-fire way to be killed.

𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚝𝚊𝚙𝚎. 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚝𝚊𝚙𝚎. it’s an old one, one of note. the day they assisted him, manifested from the void and appeared. yes, they remember it well -- in spite of how the audio clips. or rather, how it was about to start clipping at a certain portion.
𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚑𝚎𝚊𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚒𝚛 𝚟𝚘𝚒𝚌𝚎 𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚝𝚊𝚙𝚎 ... ‘ 𝙷𝙴𝙻𝙻𝙾 𝙴𝚅𝙴𝚁𝚈𝙾𝙽𝙴, 𝙸𝚃 𝚂𝚄𝚁𝙴 𝙸𝚂 𝙽𝙸𝙲𝙴 𝚃𝙾 𝙱𝙴 𝙷𝙴𝚁𝙴 𝚃𝙾𝙳𝙰𝚈. ’ -- how did those dolts buy that bit anyways? where xerox feigned being some lost and completely random soul for the sake of it. was in no way risking there to be a technicality or snag for him to get what he rightfully deserved. ‘ 𝙸 𝙰𝙼-𝙼-𝙼-𝙼-- ’ 𝚊𝚑, 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚝 𝚒𝚜.
when they first listened to it back, they’d assumed it was the temporal rift they caused when exiting the void. what they couldn’t understand was why he was listening to it 𝙽𝙾𝚆 .
he’d been acting 𝙾𝙵𝙵 for a while now, though they couldn’t be sure why. at first, they’d have assumed he was simply feeling a bit burnt out. their work was very exhausting after all. but now ... what has overcome him to push him to act with such 𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚢?
pulling themselves from the shadows, they finally make themselves known. normally, should they happen upon him making or listening to his tapes they would leave him be. nothing there they did not know, and whatever they didn’t know they would like to remain a mystery. there was a certain distance they both liked to keep and xerox was just fine with that. but now ... 𝚗𝚘𝚠 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚢 𝚗𝚎𝚎𝚍𝚎𝚍 𝙰𝙽𝚂𝚆𝙴𝚁𝚂.

❛ 𝚃𝙷𝙰𝙽𝙺 𝙶𝙾𝙳 𝚃𝙷𝙰𝚃’𝚂 𝙾𝚅𝙴𝚁. 𝙸 𝚃𝙷𝙾𝚄𝙶𝙷𝚃 𝙸𝚃’𝙳 𝙽𝙴𝚅𝙴𝚁 𝙴𝙽𝙳... ❜ they were never fond of those haughty type meets. didn’t like having to restrain themselves for as long as they lasted, not when it was a waste of time. if they wanted something done, then why didn’t they just 𝚂𝙰𝚈 𝙸𝚃. how difficult was it to get to the point anyhow?
𝚊𝚑, 𝚋𝚞𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚊𝚝 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚓𝚘𝚢 𝚘𝚏 𝙳𝚛. 𝙼𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚛, ( aside from the joy he made of course ) -- he was quite good at managing the people, something xerox was never fond of. and if he needed something done, he didn’t waste time with dancing around it or dragging out a conversation, he got right to it and let them go when it was over.
❛ 𝙼𝚄𝙲𝙷 𝙰𝙳𝙾 𝙰𝙱𝙾𝚄𝚃 𝙽𝙾𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙶. ❜ they grumble lowly. ❛ 𝙸 𝚃𝙷𝙸𝙽𝙺 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚈 𝙹𝚄𝚂𝚃 𝙻𝙸𝙺𝙴 𝚃𝙾 𝙷𝙴𝙰𝚁 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝙼𝚂𝙴𝙻𝚅𝙴𝚂 𝚃𝙰𝙻𝙺. ❜ a light jab at the benefactors couldn’t hurt, it’s not like they could hear them anymore.
