Canonically extremely complicit in and debatably responsible for a 5 year old awakening a highly destructive power and accidentally murdering his entire family.

After he killed the boy’s grandparents and stalked their lone remaining son for years until the time was right to cause their downfall, too.

Then proceeded to “adopt” the 5 year old and raise him with the explicit purpose of filling him with nothing but hate for this world, in the hopes that he’ll raze it all to the ground. Bragging to enemies about this whole master plan all the while, and conspiring to steal the kid’s body from him to replace his own broken one.

Then there’s the aura of pure . . . paralyzing evil that Ichirō gives off to those in his presence, when he is not there to be kind. If a man like him is ever truly capable of that, without it being just another way for him to pull the strings in his grand design.

There was no time to stop him. No time to even move. It happened in an instant.

A microsecond.

And in that moment, this man made us feel death.

You’re going to simp for him eventually. Countless men and women alike have fallen to their knees in reverence of this man. It’s only natural.

Ichirō tends to hedge his bets well and is a benefactor of many an organization around the world. Two of his most notable contributions could not seemingly be more different, though there is a connection to be found there, if one should care to look deep enough.

1) He anonymously donates a hefty sum to a certain academy in Paldea every year, invested fully in the future of these younger generations. He always keeps a careful eye on what sort of people it produces, and what more vulnerable of the populace may be swayed into joining his family.

It is a fine institution, and he has so much faith in it that he is even willing to send his own blood to join its ranks.

2) Neither himself nor Dr. Garaki are well-versed in the phenomenon of Shadow Pokémon. He allows a portion of their research budget to go towards the group that’s been producing cutting-edge advances on that very technology. Their abilities to induce and study it are unparalleled, and it’d be a pity not to encourage the advance of science. Especially when it could lend itself so well to his own goals, in the end.

Why experiment on children to get hybrids when you can find ones that come pre-packaged with it?

Like for a Pokémon verse starter with Ichirō, a mysterious figure that’s been lurking in the shadows throughout much of human history. He is an idolizer of death, and considers it the highest honor that can ever be bestowed on someone. By his guiding hand, the whole world will be freed from their chains, and sent back to the stars from once they came.

By all means, keep earning their ire. He prefers to keep to himself, and not risk running it all into the ground . . . in all his years, there’s never been any sort of organization like the ones that have risen in recent times. And the top of all of them are individuals who, for the most part, he would prefer to just let be.

They’ll get theirs eventually, as per the natural order of the world.
