HADES THROUGH THE AGES

hades at ages 16, 29 and 48. his hall of conquers during his lifetime includes getting adopted and four siblings, working for ursula soul, acquiring nightmares and a few addictions, studying, obsessing over good and evil and everything in between, joining merlin's order and the council, consecutively, and aiming at changing punishment's people's lives. ah, of course; he's also one of his mother's greatest disappointment.

There it is, the feeling he's been missing: a pain that isn't on the inside, a hurt he can really feel, can make sense of and fight or yield to. The second Corinthian grits his teeth and bears it, digs his nails into Desire's throat as if it means something, as if an Endless can be harmed by something as insignificant as a nightmare.

"Harder," he hisses, trying not to think of Sila--

(nails on his scalp, sweet smile and scarlet lips, his eyes; his eyes have the strongest feelings still attached to them, hunger and want, the few emotions he got to keep when he was made a nightmare again. he can't love but he remembers when he could and did)

--and failing, thinking of him, knowing Desire knows it because Desire knows everything he has ever and will ever want. He needs this to be harder, rougher, needs it to be nothing like Sila at all. Nothing like Dream either, who the second Corinthian has never touched but the first certainly did, whatever the fuck that was.

"Hurt me," he demands, glaring them in the eyes. "I'm a nightmare. I can take it."

Three seething hisses bark from mouths that bear artistically carved teeth. And despite a lack of eyes, its Creator would know that the Nightmare glares spitefully into those infinite depths of swirrling stars.

"What did I do this time?"

It can jeer and struggle all it likes against the unshaking grip in its golden locks, but the Corinthian knows he can not free himself. Being forced to face the Endless's retribution as well as the humiliation of being rough handled so effortlessly.

All this for simply entertaining himself with ruining Lucienne's day. When was the last time Dream cared about the relationships between his subjects?

Or had the Nightmare's lack of decorum before the Endless's fae guests pissed his Creator off? Or was it simply that the Corinthian had been slacking on his duties as a Major Arcana recently?

Whatever the reason, the Nightmare doubts Dream will keep him in suspense about it for long.

Prompts Are Now Open

As I said a few weeks ago, October is a month away and most people think of Halloween, but creators are thinking of something else. For us, it's a month for challenging our muses and come with new content. Historically, started as Inktober for artists to do art, but through time, it expanded to fic writing and other creative endeavors as well, and different theme-based challenges were created. So, this year, I decided to do my personal mix-themed writing exercise for Star Wars.

I took the prompts from @whumptober2021, @flufftober2021, @angstober (using prompts from 2020), and kinktober2021 on Twitter. If you want to participate in any of the individual (or all) challenges, check their blogs you'll find the complete info.

There are some prompts that I have already figured out what to do with them. The others, well, I thought it'd be nice to give something to my followers and the fandom in general, so this is your opportunity to request a short fic from me.

You can do more than one request. Also, you can combine prompts from the different lists or days (eg: whump 6 + angst 21, fluff 1 & 15). In that case, I'll split the fic into as many parts as the prompts given.

All the fics will be cross-posted on AO3 and Tumblr in October on their corresponding day.

A request might not be fulfilled if there's a conflict with the day of publication of another. If both are a single prompt, I'll choose the one that inspires my muse more.

The exception to the rule above is if one request or more has multiple prompts in it, and one of those prompts is of an available day.

The rest of the unfulfilled requests might be published later in November, but I don't guarantee it. Most likely, they won't be.

cassana & steffon got betrothed a couple of months before the war of the ninepenny kings, but that wasn’t the initial idea ormund had for his son; while for lord estermont it would be quite the privilege to have his only daughter married to the son of his lord, the same couldn’t be said for the baratheon who wished to find someone of higher status for his son to marry than the daughter of one of his bannermen. but rhaelle, steffon’s mother, noticed how close his son and the estermont girl seemed to be when cassana was sent to be one of her ladies and changed her husband wife — also considering the troubled story on how their own marriage came to be, wishing for her son a happier life than her own. the war pushed back their wedding, but when he returned — a lord now, having lord ormund died in his arms — his first act was to marry the woman he loved.

trilla’s sleep was disturbed by nightmares long before the day moe found her, but when before she dreamt of order 66 it was now vader troubling it. vader attacking her, vader finding cere, vader attacking moe for saving her. it didn’t take long for moe to notice — and the next time trilla wakes up screaming and trashing she is there for her, holding her and calming her down. the nightmares won’t leave for some more time, but they are gradually less intense and easier to forget with moe always by her side when she wakes up.

With that said though, I’ve had the displeasure of dealing with people who were extremely jealous themselves. And I regret ever associating myself with them. It gets to a point that these people, just become such an unpleasant presence altogether. It sucks out all the fun, there used to be.

This was the incident that cemented to me the fact that popular fanons are the worst, and every RPer’s worst nightmare. There was a massively popular and widespread HC for a character, that I picked up as a muse. I didn’t agree with it, and as such I had to make a post explaining that (the fanon was basically claiming that the character had ADHD, and basically every single other blog that rped that character also ran with the aforementioned fanon.).

Then some time later, I get a new follower and some hours later I received a DM from said new mutual that was basically demanding me to change my post ‘bc it was ableist uwu’ or some bs like that. I had to explain myself that I wouldn’t change my take on the character, I wasn’t complying with the fanon, and I even went as far as to ask for suggestions on how I could word the post “better”. Funnily enough, the bitch couldn’t provide me with a proper response.

Needless to say, we didn’t stay as mutuals for much longer after that. Moral of the story: If sb slides into your DMs like this, just block them. These people are 100% full of shit.

♦ What was a mildly annoying thing that has happened to you rp wise?

// How about the time I didn’t follow sb back, and said individual took it very personal. And they went on to try do ANYTHING in their book, to see if they could get me to acknowledge them. They would whitewash their POC muses in their edits, try to copy my AUs and HCs... All because I didn’t follow them back. And to make matters worse: blocking them was fruitless. Because they’d remake their blogs every other day, so they were essentially block evading as well.

The Nightmare hisses from the burn that comes with having fingers interlock in his blond hair and yank his skull backwards. His back arches uncomfortably to ease the pressure off of his scalp, staring up at an older well dressed man he doesn't recognize. His response is immediate, he pulls a blade from beneath his beige jacket and presses it roughly to the throat of the stranger who has grabbed him.

"You greet everyone this way?" He purrs, before a spark of recognition raises his eyebrows.

Shit, he does recognize him. This guy is big in Gotham.

And he's kind of hot.
