The one thing I miss about being active in the MCR fandom, is writing reader inserts.

Like. I’ve done Samy/Reader and Niko/Reader a few times. But from 2016-2021, I was receiving requests/prompts for Gerard/Reader stories almost daily. I wrote like. Between 50 and 75 reader inserts for that fandom. I lost count. It was amazing.

But, BC fandom never showed that same interest. Maybe because I don’t write NSFW things. Idk.

Back in early 2023, I specifically made a post, practically begging people to give me requests. I only got one (1) response, and then the girl I wrote it for deadass forgot to read it until 45 days later.

At which point I was just like, wow, okay, fuck y’all, I’m just doing M/M now.

The Promptober 2023 prompt for Day 2 was "lending someone a jacket to fight the chill" which reminded me of the short I wrote for Sheratober / Flufftober 2021 called Something Amazing (where Glimmer falls asleep on Bow's shoulder and he wraps her in his jacket even though he's also freezing) so I decided to do a quick scene from that fic for this prompt.

First off - my condolences on the menty b and hope that the distraction of some comfort fics will help.

My go to when I don’t know what comfort means to you fluffy family feels, to which I always recommend Tennessoui’s Keeping Up With the Skywalker-Kenobi’s and Rexismycopilot’s I’m the Satellite and You’re the Sky as well as their Flufftober 2021 collection. I really really need to get better at keeping rec lists, but I’d add Our Love is Timeless by ArdenSkyeHolmes221.

Summary:

According to the rules, no Jotun shall ever set foot in Asgard. According to the rules, no Prince of Asgard shall befriend a Jotun. According to the rules Rules were made to be broken. Angrboda, the Jotun maiden, and Loki, the Asgardian prince, meet as children when Angrboda sneaks into Asgard on a rescue mission. An unlikely friendship springs up over the centuries as the two continue to meet in secret. As friendship deepens into a love that neither Asgard, nor Jotunheim will accept, they must decide if the prize is worth the risk.

Loki was bored, which was always a dangerous thing.  He’d been trapped inside the blacksmith’s shop with Thor for hours. The clanging of metal on metal, along with the terrible heat, was giving him a headache. As was usual, the blacksmiths ignored him in favor of Thor, who was easier to please and more profuse with his praise than Loki ever cared to be. For a time, Loki had amused himself by using his seidr to push the smoke into the workmen’s eyes. But by now, this joke had worn thin, even to him. “We’ve been here long enough for you to purchase the entire shop, brother,” Loki said. “I want to see the new volumes at the bookseller’s.” “As if I’d be stupid enough to follow you to the bookseller’s,” Thor said. “You’ll spend all day there. Aren’t there books enough in castle the library? I’m surprised you haven’t gone blind from all the hours you spend staring at words scribbled on pages.” The blacksmith laughed heartily at Thor’s joke, and turned the prince’s attention to yet another weapon.  “At least I know how to read,” Loki muttered.

15, 18 & 25 for the Ask Game

15. favorite weather for writing

I always feel happier when it's sunny out in general, so definitely then! But I do sometimes get a fic idea when it's late at night and dark out, and that is also a mood for writing. But I quite prefer sun!

18. if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic

I have a lot of takeouts for New Beginnings... but it's been so long since I wrote that fic, I really don't remember if they somehow still got in it, just written differently🤔 But I labelled the outtakes of Flufftober 2021, and the premise of Chapter 11. Notes of that fic became entirely different than what I imagined, so I can use an outtake from there ^-^

The chameleon’s notes tend to be short and to the point, sometimes with a date and time for good measure. 12:30 I’m doing groceries, one of them had said once, or Please fold the laundry on another, and though those notes are a testament to Espio’s sweet caring and fussing he always inflicts on the Chaotix, those notes aren’t Silver’s favourites. No, his favourites are the notes aimed specifically at him, the notes that say Take care of yourself or I’ll bring home doughnuts or Don’t wait for me tonight, I’ll be back late. They are small signs of just how much the other cares, and though he leaves so many there is little point in collecting them Silver treasures them all the same.

25. besides writing, what are your other hobbies?

I really enjoy crocheting! Right now I'm creating a jacket/vest for myself, and when that is finished I'll continue on with a Stardew Valley chicken blanket. And I make lots of little things for friends, too! It's a neat skill to have ^-^

That aside, I also like playing videogames and going walking and cycling outside!
