elijah is closest to rebekah. he is very protective of her. there is not only peace and harmony between them, because they are very different in character. rebekah wants to fall in love and is very romantic, if she had her way, she would marry the first one who smiles at her. elijah is very strict in this regard and even if rebekah often mad at him for this, she did not regret his decisions in the end.

most of the strife was caused by finn, the actual firstborn son, who should have inherited the title and responsibility. elijah has always been a responsible person, but being the head of the family is another league. elijah would have imagined his life differently, he actually wanted to build his own right to exist. his studies were also not designed to manage the considerable family estate. there is a lot of pressure on elijah (which he also additionally places upon himself). if finn had made other choices, elijah’s life would be different.

that being said (and with finn out of the picture), it is probably kol who causes elijah the most trouble, as he often stands out through negative behavior. klaus behavior is often a burden as well, but unlike kol, klaus can also act prudently.

so! since i'm doing a twili au time to throw some thoughts about the twili and the twilight realm. so this can be a general headcanon post but also will apply to my au!

sky islands

If you look at the Twilight Realm in the game it appears to be a bunch of islands just floating around. I like to think the traveling around and structure is similar to Skyloft in Skyward Sword. So most people use shadow kargaroks to get around. Though, I can totally see their technology also helping like the floating platforms and teleportation they are able to do. They have multiple ways of getting around all these islands but I love them having bird monsters to get around.

shields are masks

One of the funniest scenes in my opinion is when Midna puts the shield on her face and nearly chops Link's head off with the sword. With that in mind I fully think that shields are used as masks. They probably use their magic so they can see through it and hylian shields really just don't do it well. We can also look at the shadow beasts and it appears they have some kind of shield on their face we never see their actual face. So just maybe what we see is some kind of shield. Even the Fused Shadow is like that it's place entirely over Midna's head. Which is very interesting perhaps it's very similar to Sheikah magic? Who knows. But I do think this is how they use these kind of items.

magic

We are well aware the twili are magic users it's because of their great magic and what they tried to do with it they were banished. I think the magic various depending on each twilil. Like I think those that or royalty or could be a future ruler and nobles hold more magic than the average common folk. I also think their magic has weaken over time because of Midna's reaction when she uses the Fused Shadow she is shocked by how much magic it has. I also think each twili could have a unique way to use their magic kind of like with swordsmanship and such! But everyone probably has what is considered the basics like teleportation, magic inventory, shadow manipulation, being able to float if they want, and so on. I'll have to think about this more for my au for what I want Link who is named Emery in this verse to have specifically.

family heirloom

This here is specially for my verse and a way to allow Emery to interact in the world of light without being a shadow. I like to think maybe in his family there is this family heirloom I'm thinking a ring that has been passed down. It has designs that is very hylian but as a twili they wouldn't know it's hylian. And what this heirloom can do has been lost to time. Emery finds out when he accidentally ends up in the world of light. Instead of being a shadow the ring activates and allows him to keep his physical form. He can still be a shadow and hide in shadows. This is just something to allow easier interaction and something that I like too.

something I've been thinking about quite a bit about the very specific ways my muses show affection or like... things they'll only do with people they love or care about. Like for example:

Mikah: Night hikes and stargazing. They're a bit of work but they like being outdoors at night and while they won't drag anyone outside if they truly don't want to, they like sharing that moment with people close to them.

Penny: The sweetest good morning texts. Like as soon as she's coherent enough to grab her phone, the first thing she thinks of "I have to say good morning." If she and her s/o are are sharing a living space, then lil good morning chats.

Wynn: Picnics :) or camping. He's another one that likes being outdoors and just chilling, enjoying the scenery, and feeding a loved one little snacks brings him so much joy

Evan: He is big on gift giving. And not just spending money because he can--his gifts are extremely specific and he only gives them if he knows the person in question will like it.

Dakota: Just a little night in--like a genuinely, normal night in. Like "posting up on the floor in front of the TV with snacks" night in. Like an "order food and relax" night in. Like a "stay up all night talking about your thoughts" night in.

Joey: (Very Lera specific) Another one that likes the indoors. He'll cook for his partner and make a nice dinner for then. Makes sure he knows their favorite dish so he can make it for them.

Roderick: Go for a drive with him. It can be a nice little drive to the beach or to a park or wherever. And, on top of that, he will listen like whatever his loved one has to say is the most important thing in the world.

Andy: Flowers that he knows his s/o likes--not ones that remind them of him. It doesn't matter if he holds any power over them or what shape they take--he'll keep more of them around.

Vega: (Very Astra specific) S/Os hobbies and likes become something he gets invested in. like in addition to his own. they become something that he wants to participate in as a means to be closer to his loved one.

Lawali: Will 100% make his significant other, whoever they are, his muse. It'll influence how he paints and what references he likes to use. They won't necessarily be in the paintings/photos but their influence on him will be tangible

a couple fun facts about Vega:

he's ambidextrous but his dominant hand is his right. thus, this is where most of his hand injuries are due to him being a tiny bit quicker to react with his right than his left.

speaking of his right side, he has a sizeable tattoo that wraps around his upper arm ( near his shoulder ) that is identical to the tattoo Astra has on his face. it was not present when he and Astra were working their way up through the organization and was a decision Vega made after Astra's death. if you ask for an explanation for it, he will not elaborate on its meaning.

he has a nick across his lips ( left side ) that has since healed.

does not specialize in blades but he likes them quite a bit because of Astra and takes care of the ones he has again, because of astra. he much prefers ranged combat and is a little biased towards firearms, though, so if given a choice between the two, he will pick the latter unless he has a clear advantage with the former.

Early bird. He typically wakes up very early. Has the wildest bed-head too, and usually never does much to tame it. At most, he'll run his fingers through his hair and shake his hair out.

He has a conditional RBF. If he's thinking about something or spacing out, the RBF is present. If he's actively talking to someone or around other people, the RBF may or may not appear. If he's antagonizing Astra, there is no RBF.

blood headcanons: part 1 | part 2 | part 4

choosing the group to cover today was a little hard but i'm going to opt for joey, mikah, and vega today, given that it'll be a little easier since they have a singular shared trait: the fact that they can resurrect when killed.

mikah and joseph are a slight different case compared to Vega, as they are Ajin. the resurrection is a set bodily process that is just.... apart of their life. whether or not it's caused by an organ or something else, no one knows. all anyone does know is that when they resurrect, they're as good as new.... and you know, i will take that to heart.

mikah and joseph's blood will always taste fresh. it's pretty basic in flavors and is honestly comparable to those staple summer drinks that you crave when it's hot out and your throat is dry. it's thirst quenching and whatever flavors are in it don't get watered down or diluted by ice and whatever else you add to it. it'll naturally taste a little less impactful if you attempt to drink from them right as they've reset but it lasts maybe an hour at most.

vega, due to the fact that his resurrections are not really.... natural and are caused by some supernatural process that takes a bit longer than the other two, is more like flavored sparkling or seltzer water. still very good and refreshing but in a different way. it may lose some carbonation when he's just revived but it doesn't take too long for it to reach the same mouth feel as it normally is. maybe a couple days, at most.

the key take away is that it will never taste any different. it is reliable in that no matter how long they live and no matter how many times they are killed, it will always go back to tasting as though you just uncorked a bottle of it that just been chilling and waiting for you.

talking about scars | @soulsxng ( CLOSED. )

the only remaining scars of mikah's that I haven't talked about are the minor scars that they have. they've got a gunshot wound on their shoulder ( it passed right through so they were mostly fine after wards ) and a couple nicks and scratches on that same side from… jobs or fights that they got in. Other than that, their skin is…. pretty clear.

joseph, on the other hand, has quite a few because unlike mikah, he values his life and lets each and every one of his scars heal properly. The one people usually see first and foremost is the scar on his lips. It's towards the right side of his lips and is a thin, vertical line that goes across both. It was given to him… by Mikah around the time that they got dakota's younger sister ( who they were dating at the time ) killed, try to sabotage her businesses, muddy her reputation, and a bunch of other vindictive, misguided nonsense that they decided was a normal response to shit that i won't get into right now.

in any case, mikah's ghost swiped at his face multiple times when he was trying to deal with them. joey has his own ghost and managed to keep theirs away from him for the most part but was still able to get in a few really good swipes before joey's dispatched it. there used to be accompanying scratches on his face as a result of it but those have healed and mostly disappeared. the one that created his lip injury was a little closer to his face and therefore made a deeper cut.

if you look ever closer, you can probably see matching lines near his chin and near his eyebrow. they're not as serious and are… basically invisible most times but… still there.
