CWP Devlog

As the @campwillowpeak coder I figured why not give an update! (With Ziggy's blessing✨)

Completed majority of Harper's route for the Demo (Should be complete tomorrow)

Completed player customization screen (includes custom pronouns)

Completed sprite coding

Completed main menu screen coding

Set up the romance and friendship system

Set up the framework for an inventory system and notes system

Set up the framework for cabin-mate and room choice

Then there's a bunch of little things I've done to make the process easier for the game.

Currently just waiting on assets and script from Ziggy 🫡

I'm getting frameworks set up so that once I do get the assets it's just plugging them in and tweaking it all to fit!

Long time, no disappointment with the Genshin Fandom (Mainly Twitter)

With the recent drip marketing that hoyo posted about half an hour ago of this lovely lad

I've noticed twitter zeroing in on his name. Which at first glance does look a bit strange admittedly because it says Gaming.

That's because his name is Cantonese. In Mandarin Chinese, his name 嘉明 would be Jiāmíng (Jia1 Ming2). But because it's Cantonese, it'd be spelt as Gaming but pronounced as Gah-Meng (unfortunately I can't speak Cantonese so I cannot give tone marks. If anyone out there is Cantonese and can speak it, please feel free to add the tones!).

I know some people will make a comment about his name coming from the fact that they just did not know which is absolutely fine! But sometimes (and we all know how that part of the fandom is) people are just pricks who use it to get their 5 secs of clout. It's 2023, going on 2024. We should not be having this conversation yet here we are.

Anyways this was just a little educational post about his name while I'm ahead on the potential shitshow that may ensue from this :'D

I'm very excited to see him in game and very excited to see what his movesets will be like!!
