He's a lil more chill--most of the excitement for him is because Leo's causing him trouble, so maybe there won't be as many since it's just him? Sho really knows a little about everything huh. He cuts his own hair, he memorizes textbooks, he plays every sport, he can cook. . .is there anything Sho can't do? In his character story he even says he played guitar for a little while but hasn't done it lately, so music is probably within his wheelhouse too.

I'm beginning to suspect that he heavily values freedom and being able to go where he wants and do what he wants. That includes taking you wherever you wanna go. Even at max affinity he has the same response--'we're going somewhere, anywhere you want.' At max affinity he doesn't mention an R&R permit--which suggests he doesn't care if you get in trouble going out, as long as you actually get to go out. One of the first things we see him talking about relating to Darkwick is asking Leo if he regrets going--I think Sho regrets it. He can't leave whenever he wants, even though he's one of the top students as far as grades, he's more restricted in what he's allowed to do and when. . .so I think these offers to drive you anywhere in total freedom are his ways of showing you what means the most to him. Just. . .being able to do whatever, whenever. I think that's also part of why he likes Leo so much. Leo doesn't let himself be restricted either. Leo gets into fights and into trouble and Sho complains about it but he understands the liberation. Sho wants to see that unrestricted you, I think. Even if it isn't anything extreme, even if it isn't anything exciting. He wants to see what you're like out of Darkwick's cage. So he'll take you on little joyrides into freedom. Show him where you go and what you do when no one's there to stop you.

New Years: (January 1st)

I'm surprised Leo's wasn't similar to this tbh. Like, Leo's an influencer, why didn't he mention getting a metric fuckton of valentine's day chocolate? I'm happy Sho's loved by the students tho haha.

I STILL FEEL LIKE I CHOSE A BUNCH THIS ONE IS ALSO ALL OF THEM NOW . . .Sho is pretty lowkey. But after rereading them all and giving it some thought, you can definitely get a feel for his character. He seems like he keeps busy a lot--he's always doing something. Cooking, playing sports, reading, memorizing his textbooks. . .he's confident and comfortable and sometimes he's a bit rough around the edges. And sometimes he's a little flirty too, if he likes you. But that's all part of how confident and self-assured he is--and he has plenty of reason to be when he's so smart and skilled at damn near everything he touches. He acts more like the senpai character here. He's a lot like Haku, except where Haku is a bit lazier and less motivated(although he still works hard) Sho is always on the go. Always up to something, always trying something. He likes to keep busy and doesn't like to sit still--to the point that he even considers going to class when he's got nothing to do during the day. He wakes up and has nothing to do? Let's call Leo, he's usually got something going on. He complains about Alan making him work out so much or go to the pit or play basketball real hard? He still goes and does it anyway. But it seems like he just. . .always wants to be busy. I can't really think of many points he just kinda had downtime. Yeah, he goes fishing and reads and watches basketball(?) but like. . .he's still occupied even then. Then again maybe that's because he's stuck in Darkwick. He'd rather be driving around somewhere or doing some sport but he can't do so much unless he can leave. . .he feels a little restless to me. But maybe that's just me haha.

カナイ区の看板は何語かわからない言語で書かれてるのにエーテルア女学院の掲示物はなぜか完全に日本語なんだよなぁ。流石にこれは他言語でもそのままなのかな。 The signage in Kanai Ward is written in a jumbled language so players can't tell what language it is, but the posters or something on the wall of Aetheria Academy are completely in Japanese. I'm curious to see if this will be localized.

I've been asked by a few people about an English version of the opening theme since Ion doesn't give lyrics for it in-game. I do not trust myself to have the lyrical ability to translate it well rhythmically, but I've been thinking that perhaps if I put out a gist of the meaning then perhaps someone more musically inclined can work off of that to turn it into something usable. At the very least, I hope it's helpful to give a bit more context. I'll include the original lyrics as well for those who want to compare side by side. For all of these (assuming I get to more) I'll be using the full song version lyrics from the vocal collection. Translation notes are in brackets. Sorry the spacing is weird because Tumblr's formatting is honestly kinda garbage and won't let me change much.

Note: The lyrics in this game are quite dense with nuances and references so if there's any I seem to have missed, please do let me know! Overall thoughts: I’m sure people can draw their own interpretations from this but you can see it’s a song about dreams and the hard-fought battles in pursuing said dreams with lots of Quartz-related phrasing. Quite interesting as well how Kisa is sometimes mixed in with various LI characters and sometimes singing in contrast to them.

I would recommend for those who haven’t read it to also check out the first chapter of the moon novel (translation here) as it emphasizes Kisa grappling between her dreams and her reality. 

Also I would like to plug this cover version by Saki Hazuki singing this song with both male and female parts which feels very Jack Jeanne.

She was asked out on a date in episode 3, and Shirley may have felt like things had progressed a bit. With that feeling, could there be some unexpected developments in the next episode? About a dozen or so species of hazel species are found in the marshy regions of the Northern Hemisphere. The hazel leaves are rounded with jagged edges, velvety soft to the touch, and turn yellow or pink in the fall. The hard nuts of the hazelnut ripen from mid-August to October. Wrapped in ragged leaves, it is said that it takes 9 years for a hazelnut to bear a full crop. The number nine is the sacred number of the muses who are in charge of our intellectual activities. This is one of the reasons why, since ancient times, the hazel has been associated with inspiration in the arts and learning.

The ancient Celts regarded the hazel as a tree of knowledge. All knowledge was intertwined within the husk of the hazel nut. This is where the idiom "in a nutshell" comes from. The hazel is the tree of white magic and healing, the poet's tree. Its sacred berries were the food of the gods as well as a source of inspiration and immortality. For the ancient Celts, there was no better expression than poetry, neither in art nor in magic.

An ancient Irish code, handed down to posterity as the 'Sacred Triad', stipulates that anyone who intentionally cuts down a hazel tree is guilty of death. No other tree has been given such high status, except the apple.

The hazel is said to be a talisman of good health and protection against all kinds of disasters. In Ireland, on Beltine and Solstice, a cow is led in front of two huge torches, with its back covered in hair roasted with a flaming hazel wand, as a curse against magic and bad luck. Sometimes hazel twigs were also tied to horses' manes to protect them from fairy magic.

The planet that rules the hazel is Mercury. The hazel is inseparable from water, but the ruling element is air. It is said that the hazel is surrounded by the magical power of mercury, which enhances mood and brings inspiration.
