swear to god the amount of time I've spent on this fic that's just looking up release dates of fucking songs/albums like do you KNOW how many times I've had a half dozen tabs open that are just the wikipedia page for [band/person name] discography

because yes I remember that The Beatles' Revolver came out in 1966 but WHEN in 1966, when can I make Adora listen to it while doing homework

for extra-fun points this was back when a lot of music had not only different release dates but the albums had different track lists, between the USA and the UK--American kids had more spending money, on average, than British kids; so American albums tended to be shorter so they could sell the songs as singles and EP's as well. In the case of The Beatles specifically, their really early stuff was across more than one label! Their albums didn't have the same track lists on both sides of the pond until Sgt. Pepper--at that point they insisted on it, and after that the track lists were always the same.

Sgt. Pepper was still released a week later in the USA than in the UK but I wonder if that was like, literally due to the time it took to ship the damn thing across an ocean lolol

Anyway even as an obsessed teenager in the mid-90's I only bothered memorizing the British album names/tracklists, since that's what was released on CD--the singles that weren't on any albums in the UK were released on their own compilations.

I say "bothered memorizing" lol I didn't even do it on purpose it just...happened. I used to be able to just recite the UK full-length albums in order of release.

OH RIGHT the one I missed was Beatles for Sale. To be fair that album has a lot of...less good songs on it. Though it does have Eight Days a Week on it, which is one of my FAVES. And I got Yellow Submarine and the White Album in the wrong order. (To be fair, Yellow Submarine was mostly "leftovers" from recording Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour; the White Album is a totally different style)

ANYWAY this was SUPPOSED to be a post about writing my fic lol god I spent all of yesterday going "I need to write....I need to write...." but couldn't get any words down, until I watched a chunk of Monterey Pop on youtube and then voila, words fell into the gdoc. The funny thing is that I know I just recently reblogged a post that was like "if you're stuck, write or at least imagine things later in the story" and I keep refusing to let myself do that even thought it keeps working when I give up and do it. Because of course it's by writing things that happen later that I figure out how to approach scenes that happen earlier!

But also at this point, their senior year is going to be two or three chapters!, and "Catra hitch-hikes to SF" is going to be an entire chapter by itself. My actual chapter listings in the doc are unintentionally hilarious because at this point it's going to be, like, twice as many chapters as I was planning. 😩

That said I think I only need a couple more scenes before this upcoming chapter is finally done? But at this rate, by the time they graduate high school the rest of the fic will be basically done hahhhhh

         𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. matilda sempre foi conectada a escrita. ela sempre adorou a ideia de ter diários e escrever tudo o que podia sobre o mundo neles. para uns blogs, para outros amigos a quem nem sempre se devia contar tudo ― para ela papel reciclado, canetas coloridas e post-its com notas de rodapé que a maioria das vezes incluía pensamentos súbitos. por um período, na adolescência, ela se conectou com a música ( através de um clube de coral no ensino médio ) e arriscou postar alguns vídeos online, cantando covers de artistas que admirava, mas ela nunca aparecia em tela. era apenas a voz, colagens de imagens temáticas e um nome falso: ella, tal qual fitzgerald, uma das favoritas de sua mãe. a coragem de assumir a paixão por cantar veio do acampamento ― e da influência de um grupo de semideuses que, junto com ela, formavam o ungodly hour, uma banda no maior estilo fundo de garagem, atração nas festinhas clandestinas do acampamento e certamente #1 para quem adora se reconhecer nas dores de cotovelo, corações partidos e mentes voláteis dos outros.

         𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 : a tracklist de canções a seguir são tomadas de artistas reais e utilizadas dentro da dinâmica do jogo como canções originais de matilda, com possíveis colaborações de membros da banda. caso haja alguma composição que corresponda com a de fcs utilizados no rpg e o mesmo pretenda usar para desenvolvimento próprio basta entrar em contato para comunicar.

          001. love is embarrassing 🅴 ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) a música tem como inspiração uma das primeiras relações amorosas de mattie, no mundo mortal, no ensino médio; de fragmentos recolhidos do diário e mais algumas desilusões amorosas ao longo do caminho, a canção surgiu, durante um dos ensaios da banda.

         002. lacy ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) inicialmente se tratava de uma poesia, até ela encontrar os acordes certos e transformar numa canção que ainda não mostrou para ninguém. a música tem com inspiração a adoração platônica que matilda desenvolveu por giselle voight ( @vcight ).

         003. baby ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) a canção não chegou a ser concluída, mas foi escrita entre uma e outra, após o término entre matilda e gabriel ertois. houveram fases de reações referente ao ocorrido e no momento em que escreveu esses versos ela ainda estava dividida entre a mágoa e a culpabilidade direcionada a gabe ( @ertois ).

         004. rock bottom ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal & gabriel ertois ) após encontrar algum termo de paz e confortabilidade após o término, matilda e gabriel retornaram a ser o que eram antes, amigos; e para além disso, parceiros de arte. ela apareceu com parte da música escrita e mostrou para ele, que complementou com alguns versos e transforaram em algo do qual era é totalmente apaixonada desde então.

         005. bad idea, right? 🅴 ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) inicialmente era para ser uma brincadeira. era uma noite qualquer e mattie estava contando seus segredos para uma das amigas, como o fato de ter chegado ao ponto de ter recaídas com o ex namorado. a amiga disse "você deveria escrever sobre isso!" e ela imaginou why not ? talvez realizar que haviam mais pessoas que tropeçam em más ideias fosse reconfortante.

         006. amelie ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) assim como lacy, essa canção não necessariamente ganhou vida como uma canção. matilda apenas começou a escrever fragmentos dela logo em seguida ao primeiro encontro que teve com aurora elysius, num verão do acampamento. elas compartilharam todo o verão juntas, até o verão acabar e tudo desaparecer no seguinte. ela finalizou o que havia começado a escrever, para tentar externalizar a confusão que sentiu com aquilo. ( @stcnecoldd ).

         007. mess it up ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) numa sessão de reflexões, a música surgiu, entre pensamentos de sua própria culpa em relação ao que deu errado na última relação séria que teve.

         008. all american b 🅴 ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal & willhelmina parrish ) chame de sessão de descarrego, mas quando mattie começou a compor essa, ela estava em sua energia mais raivosa possível. juntou com mina para complementar a veia caótica do que queria expressar, sobre as expectativas e a personificação feminina que observava, fosse dentro ou fora do acampamento ( @willeminas ).

         009. jealousy, jealousy ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) pegue uma garota insegura e uma escola preparatória cheia de mortais fúteis e que acreditam que o ápice dos anos de escola são resumidos em dar voltas em carros caros e ficar de amassos com o cara do time de futebol debaixo da arquibancada. mattie nunca sentiu que pertencia e por certo tempo aquilo a encheu de inveja, por querer pertencer, ser normal; ou anormal, para os padrões básicos do ensino médio e não do tipo "meu pai é um deus olimpiano". ela escreveu essa música depois de levar um pé na bunda ao convidar um cara para o baile.

         010. brutal 🅴 ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) hormônios, aflição e a divisão entre passar nas provas e não ser perseguida por um monstro aos dezessete anos. mattie uniu tudo o que havia de mais angsty nessa fase e pôs num papel ― e até que se orgulha disso.

         011. i wish ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) uma carta aberta sobre o luto que enfrentou com a perda da mãe, quando precisou ser cuidada pelos avós, os guardiões legais dela após o falecimento da mãe.

         012. willow ٫ ໋ ( composição de matilda rosenthal ) mattie escreveu essa com as madrinhas em mente, a conexão que viu entre elas, as mulheres do pensionato em rhode island, que eram as melhores amigas de sua mãe e ajudaram em sua criação.

The title track "Girl's Night" was written by Hyeju. Last album she co-wrote "Real World" and now she wrote a whole track herself. And girl scored a title track! 😍

Okay, this is a massive one in my opinion. The track "Moonlight" was written by our girl Yeojin. If you remember for the last album she co-wrote "Colouring" along with ViVi. Now she's written a whole song herself - love watching her grow 😭 ALSO - JinSoul participated in composing the song so we now have a JinSoul-composed track for Loossemble. ALSO - ADORA helped compose this track. ADORA is most famous for writing and composing some of BTS's and TXT's best songs along with other artists. Some of her most recognized works include: For BTS - "Spring Day“, “Not Today“, “Best of Me”, “Blue Side”(J-Hope solo), “134340“, “Love Maze“, “Magic Shop“, “So What”, “Euphoria“(Jungkook solo), “Epiphany”(Jin solo), “Forever Rain”(RM solo), “Home”, “Chicken Noodle Soup”(J-Hope remake solo), “Friends“(Jimin and V duet), “Moon”(Jin solo), “Sweet Night”(V's Itewon Class OST) For TXT - “Our Summer”, “Roller Coaster“, “Poppin’ Star“, “Can’t We Just Leave The Monster Alive?“, “20cm”, “Maze in the Mirror”, “Way Home”, “Ring” Other big names - “Labyrinth” by GFRIEND, “Blind Letter” by fromis_9, “Good Night My Princess” by Chungha, “CRUSH” by ZEROBASEONE She's credited in writing or composing or both for all of these songs. And “Our Summer”, “Poppin’ Star“, "20cm", and “Can’t We Just Leave The Monster Alive?“ are all in my top 10 favorite TXT b-sides("Our Summer" and “Can’t We Just Leave The Monster Alive?“ are in the top 5 for me). I am so excited to hear what she's done for this song. (Sorry this was long but I'm so excited about this one)

The track "He Said I Said" was co-written by ViVI. Can't wait to continue to watch ViVi grow too. Hopefully, next album she'll have written her own song. 😎

The track "Truman Show" was co-written by Go Won. It was also composed and co-written by Yves (listed as Yves(LOONA) 😮) and Yves's older sister Min!n’(who also worked on "Strawberry Soda"). So another Yves-composed/written track 🎉

The track "Starlight" was written by Hyunjin. We got another Hyunjin track - last album we got "Day by Day". I'm excited to hear more of her work. 😊

This album feels like it's gonna be even more amazing then the first and I can't wait.

P. S. Why are jikookers acting like the song is a duet? Jungkook is only doing backong vocals. Nobody would do the same if it was Adora.

They would've, that's so true. I don't know much about Japan but definitely Korea. But yeah, it's a thing BTS have done previously. Sea is a hidden track. Ddaeng is not on streaming platforms either. They're both two of the most loved BTS songs lol. I don't remember much about proof tracklist but I remember there was Young Love, that namkook unit song in the album; and wasn't there a Jungkook solo too? Or Jhope sang in it too, something something. Those proof songs are only available in the physical album, same as letter.

No, people wouldn't think much of it if it was adora, but to be fair Jimin and Jungkook have history, I don't think it's the same. It might be more valid to compare it to another member doing background vocals.

TXT Previews "Blue Hour" EP, "Self-Written" Songs

In preparation for the release of their new EP, Minisode 1: Blue Hour, on October 26, TOMORROW X TOGETHER (also known as TXT) is giving fans an exclusive first look at the EP’s five tracks. According to a press release sent by Big Hit, lyrics on Minisode 1: Blue Hour “are self-written teen narratives by the members.”

On October 22, Big Hit unveiled a preview of the forthcoming project on YouTube with a visual trailer. Clocking in at 1 minute and 39 seconds, the video offers the first acoustic teaser for the project, introducing the quintet’s five new tracks one by one.

Drawing on the imagery from the previously released concept photos and individual teaser trailers, each song is presented via small video clips featuring very distinct visual styles but with an overarching retro feel. The preview also introduces a revised order for the EP’s tracklist.

Previously revealed as the fourth track in the project, the video preview kicks off with “Wishlist.” Produced by Sam Klempner, this song’s uplifting beats give it an anthemic pop feel. Described by Big Hit as a “bright” track, “Wishlist” counts Yeonjun, Huening Kai, and Taehyun among its writing credits. Visually, the preview mirrors the homemade, video call-style aesthetics of the “R” concept photos.

The second track introduced in the video is “날씨를 잃어버렸어 (We Lost The Summer).” This song, which per a press release features “creative contributions” from Charli XCX, introduces a rhythmic change. With a quasi Latin-inspired beat and a palpably slower cadence, “Blue Hour” seems to be more percussion-based, serving as the perfect background for TXT’s airy vocals. Visually, it mirrors the “AR” concept photos.

The third track teased in the video is “Ghosting.” A soft ballad with a nostalgic feel, this song is produced by EL CAPITXN and written in part by Soobin and Taehyun. Though sans cowboy hats at first sight, the song is teased with visuals from the carnival-esque carousel setting that has served as the background for some of the other teasers.

“하굣길 (Way Home)” is the fourth track in the video and it’s said to feature arrangement from Bang Si-Hyuk (aka. Hitman Bang or Bang PD) and ADORA. Described by Big Hit as “dreamy,” with its R&B-inspired beat, this pop song introduces perhaps the most notable shift during the preview. Through black and white imagery, we are presented with a closeup of the members, donning the same styles introduced in the “VR” concept photos.

The fifth and final track featured in the preview is the EP’s title track, “5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나 (Blue Hour).” A fun and loud pop song with guitar-led funky beats, this song was produced in part by Big Hit Entertainment’s Slow Rabbit and Bang PD. Visually, we also see some familiar settings as the members frolic through a green field clad in white.

Minisode 1: Blue Hour will “close off their Dream Chapter series to move forwards into a new journey,” Big Hit stated in a press release. After its release on October 26, the quintet will perform the lead single live for the first time that same day during their comeback show.

Yoonmi watched Pdogg play the track. She must have frowned a little bit judging by the chuckle he released.

“You’re being very meticulous about this.”

Her cheeks heated up. “Sorry about that.”

“No, don’t be sorry,” he reassured her.

“You’ve got a point, too,” Adora inserted herself. “Yum yum was a little too pop for the image she’s going for. You wanted summery but elegant, yeah?”

“Yeah,” Yoonmi agreed. “Something more feminine, too. Yoongi oppa said it would suit my first image well instead of girl crush or cute or something like that.”

Yoonmi looked at her tracklist. She had five or six bsides but still no potential title tracks. That’s why she spent the past two weeks trying to come up with something new while trying to help polish the songs they were working on for Young Forever.

Pdogg went over her tracks again. One caught his eye in particular. He turned the laptop to face Adora and Yoonmi.

“Is this really the songs title?”

“Huh?” Yoonmi snapped out of her thoughts. “Oh. Yeah. I thought it was cute. Actually, hold on. Can you play that?”

Pdogg nodded and did as he was told. The familiar synth notes played, and a smile grew on Yoonmi’s face. She exchanged looks with Adora who nodded at her in excitement.

“This is it,” she said. Yoonmi clapped her hands together in excitement. “I can’t believe I forgot about this!”

“Well, you have been making these songs between 1 and 4 in the morning.” When Yoonmi and Pdogg looked at Adora questioningly, the older girl shrugged. “I have my sources.”

“Kookku oppa the snitch,” Yoonmi muttered under her breath. Pdogg heard and laughed.

“Art has no curfew,” he told the two girls. “It looks like we’ve found our title song, then.”

“We did,” Yoonmi agreed. Her grin grew wider as she wrote it down on her notebook in her tracklist. “It feels so much more real now.”

“It just gets realer, Yoonmi.”
