"just . . . don't be too pessimistic about it, yeah?" gyuri finds herself prompting, brows scrunching slightly, a small grin tugging at her lips. while she isn't in hyoseops position ( isn't anywhere near being in his position in a multitude of ways as they near the years end ), gyuri isn't lacking in common sense and understanding. she can only imagine the stress that comes with being an idol as awards season rolls around, so the least she can do is try to give some motivation. it's up to hyoseop what he does with her words, but at least gyuri can say she tried. "on the incredibly slim chance you really don't win anything, at least you'll have next year. you'll have all the motivation to work that much harder."

"somehow, you not being that interested in movies or shows doesn't really surprise me." unlike gyuri, whose whole world revolves around television and movies, it makes sense for hyoseop to not be as tapped in when he was already busy with his idol work. "are you interested in acting? you know, in taking on serious roles sometime in the future?" with a raised brow, she finds herself growing curious. "i'm hope this upcoming year will have more in store for me, but you know . . . working together on a project . . . that sounds interesting— if you ever really want to work on your acting skills, let me know. i can try to help you practice."

following the older mans gaze, gyuri allows her eyes to trail the tinkling sky above. "it is pretty. you picked a good night to be out."

"i'm sure type zero will walk away with a few new awards under their belt once this awards season is finished, so i wouldn't stress myself out over that if i were you," gyuri dismisses easily, brows raised in mild amusement. as an outsider when it comes to the happenings of her idol coworkers, gyuri can only imagine the time and effort that goes into all the different projects hyoseop has had to exert throughout the year, so the idea of there bere absolutely no payout seems silly. "i have yet to work on a real production since joining the agency label, so i have nothing to hope for this year, but i'm determined for next year." smile growing, gyuri lifts her chin slightly. "whenever my appearance finally airs, you can expect a message from me ensuring that you be parked in front of your tv to watch— i'll even quiz you after the fact, you might learn a thing or two." the younger is joking, of course . . . to an extent. a full on quiz may be too much considering she plays a small role, but gyuri has plenty of time to figure out the details. if hyoseop has time to play around outside like this, he'll have time to watch a few moments of gyuri on screen. " . . . i just hope you're not in the habit of staying out too late, even if you can, especially now with how cold it gets."

“i don’t want to get my hopes too high up” he pouts “sometimes it’s better to expect nothing, don’t you think? i know type zero hasn’t done bad this year, but there’s a lot of groups who have done well, there’s only so few groups who can win, maybe there’s nothing for us this year” he shrugs “that won’t be the end of the world though, our fans seemed happy with what type zero brought to the table this year”. “it might sound weird but… i would rather have fabula win awards than type zero… it’s my sister’s first year as an idol, i want all the hard work to feel like it was worth it, y’know?”. “hope next year will be a good year for you then with lots of awards” he smiles to gyuri.

“ah i usually don’t watch a lot of tv or movies to be honest” he runs a hand through his hair, “but let me know when you act in something, i’ll make sure to watch, that might be a better idea than staying outside with no idea of how long i’ve stayed outside” he shrugs. “i hope 2025 will be your year, and who knows, maybe i’ll eventually have time for practicing acting and we can act a little bit together” a short laugh escapes his lips.

he looks up “the stars are out, it’s pretty, isn’t it?”.

gyuri hasn't ever had much of a sweet tooth, her threshold for sugar at an embarrassingly low tolerance thanks to a rather healthily controlled diet on behalf of her mother growing up, treats of the less . . . exciting variety now being her go-to. so, with the task of needing to create and curate a personally tied chocolaty treat just for fans during this lovely dovey inducing season, the young actress knows she'll need to pull out all the stops whilst still staying true to her own palate.

what comes to mind first? fruits, a basic, but foolproof, compliment to all the different forms of chocolate there were. it takes gyuri only a moment to rifle through her list of favorites, a multitude of combinations whirling through her mind before she lands on a winner.

a dark chocolate outer shell, rich as it is bitter, dusted lightly with a magenta colored powdered sugar to not only offer visual intrigue, but to also give a hint as to what lay underneath the treats velvety exterior. inside, a rich raspberry ganache, refreshing thanks to real raspberries being crushed into it and allowing for sweetness without being overly chemical. simply balanced, uniformly tame in appearance, but decadently fresh— perfect in gyuris eyes, a wonderful mirror to herself.

i'd like to give my thanks to you, the ones who allow me even the smallest amount of your attention. your time is so precious, so final, and yet you still go out of your way to offer a fraction of it to me. for that, i could never be more grateful, but i'd like for this to be a start— something special, something that will hopefully help us grow closer and show that i care. a piece of my heart lays in every bite. i hope that, just as you inspire and drive me to push myself harder every day, this can do the same for you, if only a little. so, please enjoy! ♡

it's a rather impressive feat, gyuri internally boasts, keeping her features as level as she does, jinos own efforts in calming his laughter being particularly contagious despite how well he does to keep calm. gyuri wants to dissolve into laughter of her own, her antics so far removed from how she normally is that isn't almost comical— she isn't demanding, isn't bratty, but has always been the type to know what she wants. so, being able to play those aspects of herself up a little for added effect is far more fun than she'd anticipated it being.

jino, from gyuris perspective, has a much better understanding as to what being a younger sibling is like . . . because he is a younger sibling. his reaction serves as motivation, as approval, in a way, an unspoken positive towards her choices in character exploration.

"i personally believe there's no such thing as going overboard when it comes to getting into characters, but . . . let me know if i take the bit too far, please? the last thing i want to actually become the annoying little sister in the wrong setting," gyuris words are light as she speaks, a happy grin spreading across her lips. it's not often she loses herself, and while it's sometimes entertaining, she'd rather it not be over something as simple as noodles.

following his lead and stepping away from the line, gyuri thinks. "i think i'll go with . . . pears. i feel like changing things up a little. i'll just give them to you if i don't like them," gyuri mumbes easily, eyes scanning his screen. "oh, we've got to see for ourselves if it's really that good. who knows, we could end up being the review that gets them to a possibly deserved five stars!"

there’s a pause in between words that should be said instead — somewhere in there, jino has to laugh because as a younger sibling, he can only attest to gyuri’s response. he’d never say so out loud but he has definitely replied to jiah in some way or form similar to how she had just done. and for that, his amusement is increased tenfold. 

( he can already imagine jiah getting a kick out of this, surely citing that he was definitely getting a taste of his own medicine right about now but jino is all but bemused, instead he feels rather flattered by the similarities he sees in gyuri and his own personal role as his sister’s very own annoyance )

trying but failing to keep his laughter at bay, quickly raising a hand to his lips to pass it off as a cough as he nods, already bringing his phone up to his face — another cover to keep him from turning faces as he feels almost taken over by his giggles — and bringing up the food delivery app. 

“alright, alright — calm down, now, i’m sure we can find a spicy noodle shop nearby.” he’s about two seconds ready from jumping for joy at the idea that he would be quenching this singular craving he’s been having for ages — cutting it out for his role hadn’t been the plan but somehow …. here he was, weeks without a spicy noodle meal in sight.

“would you rather cucumbers or pears in yours?” stepping out of line, he hangs back; already scrolling through the shops that had popped up when he typed in 냉면 into naver. extending the screen down to gyuri, he slows the scrolling of his thumb so she can look through the ratings of each shop. “this place has a rating of 4.98 …. that seems too good to be true.”

despite making up half of the rather intimate pool of supporting cast members for this newest addition to the cinematic universe that was nova iuventa, gyuri finds there to be a saddening lack of overlap in interactions between herself and several others— in reality, it's a natural part of the filming process, different scenes in need of different people, different characters. they're all on a tight schedule, only a short amount of days allotted to getting everything right in as few needed takes as possible, so gyuri hadn't expected there to be much time to simply talk amidst the chaos.

that being said, the moment she's given the go-ahead to take a small break, her next featured scene not for a little while, gyuri is on the prowl. the destination? the snack table.

she doesn't expect to find anyone right away, least of all ian, but an easy grin grows upon her lips thoughtlessly the moment he comes into view. "did they give you a bit of freedom, too?" striding over, gyuri stops before the table, scanning the selections available. she's not particularly peckish, but grabbing something for later never hurt. she grabs two packs of gummies, flavors differing in relation to their colored packaging, and holds them up for ian to see. "what do you think— red or green?"
