Today i want to share some colors i've been learning this week! I did want to try the graphic learning, so i hope you like it and find it useful.

노란색 = yellow.

보라색 = purple.

분홍색 = pink.

나는 언제쯤 어떻게 죽게될까. 새순이 올라오는 알로카시아를 바라보며 생각한다. 내가 사랑하는 사람들보다 내가 먼저 가는게 나은건지 내가 사랑하는 사람들을 먼저 보내는 게 나은건지.. 나은 건 없다. 죽는건 많이 슬플 뿐이다.

I heard that some colors in korean can't be used as adjectives, like the color light green. How do i know if a color can be and adjective (so, can be conjugated) or if it cant? Also, how would i use in a sentence those not adjective colors?

안녕하세요! Thanks for the question! Colors are complicated in Korean. I think the simplest way to use colors as adjectives (as in, to say something like "a red shirt"), you can just attach the name of the color in front of the noun:

빨간색 셔츠 = red shirt

For some colors, the 색 can be dropped. The word for red is one of them, so you can also say 빨간 셔츠.

What you might be talking about are colors in the form of descriptive verbs. This includes words like 빨갛다 (to be red), 노랗다 (to be yellow), 푸르다 (to be blue/green), etc.

These descriptive verbs are meant to come after the noun. For example, 셔츠가 빨개요 means "the shirt is red." But you can also just say 셔츠가 빨간색이에요 (at least I think you can).

As for your question, I believe you're asking about what to do if a color does not have a descriptive verb form. In which case, you can just use their -색 versions as I have above. I hope this answers your question!

이공이삼 그리고 이공이사

많이 걸을 거라던 다짐은 지켜지지 못했다. 걷지 못한 만큼 생각할 수 없었고, 쓸 수 없었고, 정리할 수 없던 한해였다. 한두 달의 고민으로 결정하기 어려운 인생의 숙제들이 많아졌다. 일과 관계, 사랑과 생활, 미래와 현재- 내 삶 전반에 걸쳐 고심하고 또 고심하며, 다만 매일 속에 어떤 작은 다짐을 반복했다. 모든 것이 불확실했지만 괜찮았다. 무엇이든 내가 선택할 수 있었으니까. 후회는 없었다.

꽉 채워 2년 동안 다닌 회사에서 좋은 성과를 냈다. 귀한 파트너들을 만나 따뜻한 말을 나누며 지냈다. 큰 프로젝트를 마쳤던 6월 이후 한동안 일이 손에 잡히지 않아 힘들었다. 한편, 어떤 업무들은 예전보다 덜 힘들이고도 해낼 수 있어서 성장했다고도 느꼈다. 이직을 심각하게 고려했던 시기도 있었지만, 흘려보냈다. 좀 더 머물러 누리고, 이루고 싶은 것들이 있다.

일상을 담은 영상을 만들어 유튜브에 올리기 시작했다. 혼자만의 재미가 쏠쏠하다. 2024년에는 15개의 비디오 -그러니까 한 달에 한두 개를 ��드는 게 목표다. '좋댓구알'이라는 말을 내가 하게 될 줄 몰랐는데. 어색하고 좋다.

엄마와 함께 교토에 다녀왔다. 일흔을 넘긴 엄마는 내가 모르는 한자를 읽어가며 어떤 곳인지 척척 알아채고, 어떤 길이든 착착 찾아갔다. 얕은 영어와 일본어를 쓰던 나를 기특하게 바라봐줘서 어딜 가면 괜히 더 크게 스미마셍~ 아리가또고자이마스~ 오네가이시마스~ 했다. 많은 부분 까다로운 엄마에게 이노다 커피, 니시키 시장의 오뎅 가게, 그랑호텔 대욕장, 길에서 만난 세라복의 학생들만큼은 완전히 취향 저격이었다고 본다.

가장 뜨거운 여름, 바캉스로 경주에서 하루- 남해에서 이틀 지냈다. 경주의 100년이 된 고택에서의 낮잠과 남해안에서의 해 질 녘 산책, 늦은 밤 티타임이 좋았다. 서울 아닌 곳을 차로 달리는 기분 또한 만끽했다. 주말엔 장거리 운전을 많이 했다. 춘천, 평창, 속초, 강릉, 연천, 파주, 대전, 천안, 청주, 공주, 예산, 전주, 임실 등 전국을 부지런히 누볐다.

한 계절 간, 새벽 6시마다 수영을 배웠고 친구의 제안으로 클라이밍을 경험했다. 빨간색 수영복을 샀고, 그걸 입고 수영하는 동안에는 다른 사람이 된 것 같은 기분이 들었다. 누구의 딸이나 친구, 회사원이나 oo님이 아닌 채로 낯선 사람들 속에 팔다리를 휘적일 때면 조금 외롭기도 했었다. 반면, 클라이밍은 조금 다른 느낌. 맨몸으로 홀드를 붙잡고 씨름하고 있으면, 누군가가 '할 수 있다.', '조금만 더', '그 옆에 홀드 있어!' 외쳐줬다. 의아했지만 싫지 않았다. 그런 의미에서 적당히 혼자일 수 있고 적당히 공통점을 공유할 수 있는 등산이 내게 가장 잘 맞는 운동이라는 생각도 했다.

4분기에 들어서면서 갑작스레 찾아온 인생급 현타에 절절한 시간을 보냈다. 2023년은 '월급'이라는 걸 받기 시작한 해로부터 11년 차가 되는 해였다. 문득 손에 쥔 게 없다는 생각이 들자 무섭고 걱정이 되기 시작했다. 매일매일 전혀 새롭지 않은 새로운 소식과 화려한 이미지들이 범람하는 가운데, 다 돈 이야기로 보여 무척 피곤해졌었다.

'젊음' 같은 걸 믿기에 더는 젊지 않아졌고, 어른이 되어 단단해진다는 건 평생의 숙제여서 단시간 내에 이뤄질 리 만무했다. 설명할 길 없는 패배감과 찾아오는 대상 없는 원망의 마음이 뒤섞였다. 수시로 붉어지는 눈물을 참고 저릿한 마음을 부여잡으며 나를 다독이는데, 무진 애를 썼다. 분명, 겪어야 하는 일이었다. 이제 겨우 다음 페이지로 넘어갈 수 있게 되었다고 생각한다.

혼란과 폭풍의 심상이 휩쓸고 지나가자 '오랜 계획, 오랜 기다림'이라는 말이 남았다. 내 삶에 무언가가 시작되고 있다. 떨림. 걱정보다는 기대함으로 걷기를 마음 먹었다. 무엇이 되었든 있는 그대로 겪어내고 싶어졌다. 물러섬 없이. 온전한 나로 살아갈 때가 되었다. (2024.04.)
