where usually a little fox sat there was none today                                       few meters away from that, halfway hidden behind a tree  (  it was a park, of course there'd be trees  ) sat a blond man. dressed in very light blue jeans, ripped open at the knees fashionable & a very light pastel yellow shirt that accentuated the   GOLDEN   COLOR   of his hair, the man was leaned backwards.     eyes closed.       one palm pressed against his side that was turned away from view. he didn't have the energy to transform, lashes fluttering in the breeze / whenever sunlight danced through the leafy crown of the tree to illuminate closed hues.      it was tickling him.         he just wanted to make sure that she was alright. the demons he had fought   LAST NIGHT   had been out hunting for unlucky mortals out at this hour in this little park. it was in the outskirts of town, further away from the busy / colorful nightlife of the city. it was easier for them to find victims here away from prying eyes of guardians who   GATHERED   around more crowded places. not him though.

once her figure came into view                     a breath he's been holding finally leaves his lips. she was alright. she always fed him such nice things when he was here as a fox on that little old bench over there. just enjoying the sun shining down on his furr. now that he knew she was  UNHARMED  ( because somebody was running when he had fought all 6 of them )  his body relaxed visibly & wound ached less. the bleeding had stopped a bit ago but the bandages still shone crimson underneath his shirt.

What is the funniest incident your character(s) has/have gotten themselves into?

Ik I'm backed up so much and I haven't been on writeblr in FOREVER but I couldn't ignore this Bug :)

Depends on who you ask. I think it's hilarious to write seven teenagers who have never been inside a normal grocery store now exploring one:

The next day, by Fletcher’s choice, they head to a grocery store. He had been reminded that his favorite food, strawberries, would probably be a lot bigger now; more to enjoy! Cricket can’t keep the grin off his face watching Gio, Fletcher, and Caelan gawk over the massive food all around them. At one point, Gio wedges himself into one of the freezers, ‘just to get to shiver’ as he explains. Jeff and Ruth allow everyone to pick something for them to buy from the grocery store to eat before they get back. 

But they might not think so. Cricket thinks that this little moment from Gio is hilarious:

“What on Earth is that?!” Gio breathes, horrified.  Cricket approaches, thankful for his vast wealth of bug knowledge. The poor thing’s trapped on its back. He flips his hand over and presses the back of it against the bug’s legs, biting his lip as the hooks on its feet tickle his skin. He slowly flips his hand over again, revealing the spotty, cream-colored carapace and double horns of a two-inch-long male eastern Hercules beetle.

“Just put your hand next to mine,” Cricket instructs, “and let it crawl right over. It’ll feel a bit weird, okay?”  “Okay,” Gio breathes. He puts his shaky hand next to Cricket’s, gritting his teeth. Slowly, the beetle starts to crawl over, lightly tapping at Gio’s palm with a foreleg.  “There you go,” Cricket murmurs gently. He feels Gio tense as the beetle makes contact.  “Is it supposed to be sharp…?”  “Yeah, helps him hold on,” Cricket says. “Shouldn’t hurt, though.”  “It doesn’t—it just feels—!”  Gio steps back as the beetle finishes crawling onto him. “Okay,” he says, voice strained. “Get it somewhere—get somewhere to—ugh! Just—find a place so I don’t have to hold this thing anymore!”  “I can take it back,” Cricket says, laughing.  “Find a place!” 

And while Gio doesn't find a lot of things funny, Fletcher's done a lot to make him laugh. He'll always remember the time that he told Fletcher that he was nervous about a speech he was supposed to give, so Fletcher stood in the back and emphatically gestured about everything that Gio was saying, and he could barely keep from giggling through his speech.

And, heck, one more as a bonus. Cameron once saw Fletcher fall down the grand staircase at the Violett house and had to get dragged home by his parents because he couldn't stop laughing.

crimson eyes slowly fading, the guardian spirit bit back   A  SARCASTIC  REPLY   towards the man as he cracked his fists. he was more than ready. dealing with demons & the like was what   CONNECTED  them in some ways                  even if their  `relationship´ was just one born out of necessity & sarcasm. afterall, your enemies enemy was your ally. mayhaps they'll be on better terms in the future, who knows. but naruto would not hold his breath for it               his life may be   ENDLESS  but the fox wasn't that bored. there was plenty to do in their world afterall. dangers did not stop just because he wanted them to. grinning sarcastically, a hiss fell from  well curved lips. sun kissed skin dotted in crimson once again as cut re-opened slightly from the movement.

❛                  this  guy   better  be  a  distant  memory  once  we're  done  with  our   museum  date .    ❜       the uzumaki groused, moving back one of his yukata sleeves elegantly despite   VISIBLE  ANGER .    the seal tattoed into skin glowd like sunlight as he touched it, activating a spell. they were now invisible. next a flash of red and where he stood now sat a 2 meter tall fox with nine tails swaying behind.  looking at the other man, almost glaring he waited for him to get on. that was faster than  ANY  OTHER  WAY  of transportation afterall. fox spirits speed unmatched. as fast as lightning indeed. once they'd arrive, he'd change back instantly. he needed his swords most likely. he was agile, yes but not every demon could be   UNDONE   by claws alone.

Thank you so much for the kind words under my first blog post—it really made me feel braver about sharing things!!

I recently read a post about how the boys would act if the MC turned into a little kid, and it reminded me that a few days ago I doodled a baby dragon Sylus (yes, I have a hyperfixation on dragon!Sylus, no regrets), and it got me thinking… what if I wrote some headcanons for a baby AU? Totally platonic, soft, and cozy.

When you woke up in the middle of an open field, the first thing you saw were a pair of bright red eyes staring at you curiously—and white hair with two little horns poking through.

Sylus was crouching nearby, chin resting in his hands, his tail swaying gently behind him. He looked completely enchanted. He’d never seen someone like you before. So beautiful. Such shiny eyes, such soft-looking hair. A treasure. He came to this place often, but there was never anyone here.

“Sylus?” you said instinctively, recognizing him instantly.

He tilted his head at you in surprise. How did you know his name? Did you come here for him? He looked no older than five—just a tiny little thing. He jumped up and started walking circles around you, inspecting every detail. You were weird. No tail, no horns, no wings...

“Are you here alone?” you asked, sitting down in the grass.

He burst into laughter when he noticed flower petals stuck in your hair. He nodded proudly—yes, he was alone. Then he stepped closer and gently picked the petals out of your hair. You were so warm...

After that, he followed you everywhere.

He brought you shiny rocks and sweet fruits.

And then, after a little while, he tugged on your hand and led you to a small cave filled with gemstones. He showed them off with pride, carefully placing each one in your hands, bouncing on his little feet. You had to see them all. These were his treasures, and he worked so hard to collect them!

It was pretty obvious he lived there by himself.

But… where was his mom?

Who took care of him?

Had he really been all alone this whole time?

At night, he insisted that you stay inside the cave. Treasures need to be protected—and you, you were his most precious one. And you smelled like flowers… like something warm and safe and home.

He gently pushed your leg toward a little “bed” made of soft leaves in the corner of the cave. You had to rest.

And once he was sure you were lying down, he ran to the cave entrance, crossed his arms over his chest, and lifted his chin like a proper little guardian. You could tell right away—he was guarding the cave.

So small.

But so serious about protecting.

And if you ever tried to get up? He’d immediately come running back to tell you to lie down again. He had to protect his treasure.

So small. So alone.

Later that night, when you woke up, you found him curled up beside you, softly snoring, his tiny hand clinging to your shirt.

You smelled like flowers and home.

He felt safe.

part 2 🌸

Oh this is so much fun, I can see the main characters from New Royston doing a lot of these.

Mario Kart for sure--some of the giants having their own controllers, and Cricket, Eneas, and Auster teaming up on one controller to play. Though Eneas would get very competitive.

No Monopoly. Lots of touchy feelings there. Eneas would be going on about how this was actually an experiment to show that capitalism doesn't work, Fletcher would throw a fit that he's losing, Gio would probably win without trying and gloat about it, and Cricket would probably burn the board afterwards 'for the sanctity of the friend group.'

Among Us would be fun! Even if it didn't exist when New Royston takes place. Any social deduction game would be great with these characters. Auster's good at quiet lying while Caelan's good at talking so loud and fast that no one would suspect him of anything. Cameron would be the type to always know who's lying, but not be able to get the others to trust him. Gio would get confused and frustrated very easily, Eneas would throw accusations at the drop of a hat, and Fletcher and Cricket would just want to do their little tasks and be severely disappointed if they got to be imposters (Cricket would do his best and actually be a very good imposter, Fletcher would get nervous and throw the game).

No Cards Against Humanity until they go to college. By then, Cricket might know enough slang to actually have fun with it.

Twister would be fun, if they were all the same size, though the smaller ones would get an advantage just from already being so physically fit.

I previously considered these characters in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons, but I never considered how they would play it! Gio, Fletcher, and Caelan would be hesitant; while they weren't banned from playing it, their parents were growing up in the satanic panic and probably brought some of those sentiments into their households. Gio would actually love it, he'd create a billion characters. Fletcher may not 'get it' at first, but if he were allowed to make joke characters, that's what he'd do (and then those joke characters would accidentally stumble into horrifically tragic circumstances and become the party's emotional crux). Caelan would make a horny bard. Eneas really wouldn't see the point at first, he'd have to be dragged into it by Cricket or Auster, but eventually he'd get emotionally invested. Auster would play for a nice distraction and be much more interested in the combat and strategy than the roleplaying. Cricket would be more interested in the story and try to create a happy ending for everyone; the thought of actually just killing monsters left and right without trying to find peaceful solutions makes him uneasy, and though Auster tries to explain that it's just a game and this is how it's played with no bearing on reality, Cricket still doesn't like it. Cameron would consider it strange how easy it is for the others to roleplay (he's from a culture where pretending to be someone means actually becoming them in a sense), so he'd be the most likely to DM, and most likely from a module since that's a bit more acceptable to him than just making up a story and fits in with his skills as a storyteller. Though I could also see Cricket or Gio being amazing DMs, Gio finding ways to create action and suspense that bring their sessions late into the night, Cricket taking bits of lore from the manuals that he finds interesting and expanding upon them to create unforgettable scenarios packed with moral dilemma.
