I'm having Such a hard time deciding on a story for Nerine 😭 I decided to shift away from my initial concepts a little bit but haven't been able to come up with anything else Satisfying to me

Most of my s/is are in the "cursed princess" category of character, but I'd say Nerine fits more into the "sorceress / evil queen" category. Not that she is evil per say 😭 but the role of princess requires a certain level of helplessness, and when a woman in a fairytale isn't helpless, she's usually either a witch (if shes using her magic for petty reasons) or a goddess (if shes using her magic for "good").

It's hard to see Nerine as someone notably helpless, but she's also not gentle and benevolent in the way that fits into the goddess archetype. She's stern and commands respect! She isn't necessarily unkind, but she's distant in a way that makes her hard to get close to.

I think of my s/is as embodying different parts of myself.... Dianthus is the most likely "me" irl (or as close I can get to that, my perception of myself and how I actually am probably aren't 1:1 💔). Honey is Me but if I lost all my inhibitions and was more of a party girl.

Elisabetta and Nerine are both the kind of "overly serious / takes everything literally" part of me, but Elisabetta still has a sense of whimsy to her..... Nerine isn't 100% serious 100% of the time, but she's definitely someone who isn't all that expressive and comes off as intimidating due to it... 💔

Funfact about Nerine is that her outfit takes some elements from medieval fashion 😱 after a lot of trial and error I decided to go for a "medieval chic" look for her dress and jewelry. I'm not sure how obvious it is though 💔

Floette does not battle unless she absolutely has to... Not because she dislikes it but because she actually gets a little reckless and overeager about it 😭 doesn't listen to AZ at all !

Thinking about making AZ's last two Pkmn a klingklang and a bronzong but I'm not sure 💔 cuz I also like wrydeer and drampa or furfrou for him

Here's some info about Nerine 🫶🏾 super simplified because I'm lazybones right now 😭

Like I mentioned she's Also 3000~ years old due to the effects of the Ultimate Weapon 💔 her height didn't increase like how AZ's did but it did affect her hair and eye colour 😱

Currently thinking of her as like an early chemist, like ah... I forgot her name 😭 that ancient Assyrian perfumer girl.

AZ had an interest in building machines, and Nerine had an interest in science and humanities. This is how they initially connected...

Because I'm a big fan of cheesy tropes I do like the idea of a "forbidden love" between a noble and a lower class woman 😭💔 not sure if I'll go that route tho

Also considered the idea of AZ taking notes from Nerine's research in order to construct the Ultimate Weapon... something she absolutely did not give him permission to do 🙊

Her Magearna is a prototype of the "official" Magearna, which is based on old concepts and diagrams by AZ. Nerine's Magearna has a deeper colour palette as well as a keyhole in her chest protecting her soul-heart. Its eyes also appear to be constantly closed... AZ had created it as a gift for Nerine 3000 years ago, so there is no other exactly like it in the world.

Nerine's doublade is straight up just the soul of a famous knight who died during the war 3000 years ago.

Nerine's name comes from a type of spider lily... Her spider lily theming as well as palette are meant to tie her to yvetal. She looks a little suspicious; there's certain things about her that could easily tie her to team flare, and the fact that she's not particularly emotive doesn't help........ (The reality is that she's just autistic)

AZ's floette sometimes comes to visit her, tho she's never made herself a permanent companion. Floette is waiting for AZ to let go of the anger and grief he's held onto for centuries now...

Floette isn't quite sure if she can forgive AZ. Neither is Nerine... but 3000 years is a very long time. The world has changed and so have the people within it...

AZ only finds Nerine again after Floette returns to him. They've led two very different lives in their time apart. While AZ was once a king he seems to be nothing more than a vagabond to most people. And Nerine is now a deeply respected academic and fashion historian (is it cheating if she's lived through it all?)!

If I'm understanding the Latin correctly (which I admit I may not be 😭) the title of the song means "as the history of Kiersau burns"

I don't have any special reason for using it beyond liking how it sounds and the ties to how history changes depending on what information was and wasn't preserved :~)
