his crush on adaine wasn't a lie, it was just being manipulated by the fact he was being controlled by porter. even after he comes back he still has a like annoyingly persistant crush but he doesn't feel like he's allowed cuz everything that happened on both sides, but the heart wants what it wants so as much as he want to hate her, he can't.

dragons aren't very parental, the threat of their offspring stealing from their hoard leading to a pretty detached style of upbringing, but he is really close to ivy's family. her parents constantly ask after him when he's not around and consider him part of the family

If Korydass was a Companion in BG3

This is just touching on Act 1…

The big Kory disapproval moments are any time you’re an outright asshole, really. Abandoning or killing potential companions is a huge no-no. Killing the tieflings OR the druids and she will turn against you outright. You get an approval bump from her for saving the Owlbear Cub and Scratch, but there’s also a big approval boost for treating the distressed Frog in the swamp with kindness.

General chatter in early game will see her very awkwardly flirting with Karlach (of course ❤️‍🔥); but also getting a little flirty with Wyll or Shadowheart.

(So much more after the break!)

When Kory gets the slightest hint that Shadowheart likes animals but is trying to suppress it, Kory goes all in on pointing out rare birds or offering to help with her fears of wolves. The wolf thing doesn’t get a great response, but there will be another ambient dialogue about it in Act 3 after the events of the House of Grief, one where Shadowheart does take Kory up on the offer.

Another ambient dialogue soon after recruiting Karlach would be Kory and Karlach both offering horn-care suggestions for Wyll after his transformation. Towards the end of the conversation there’s an exchange that goes somewhere along these lines:

Wyll: Is it polite to ask for assistance with the cleaning process?

Karlach: “Depends with tieflings.I’d pick stones outta my friends’ if we got too rough-and-tumble. Mum and Dad and I would help each other out with the annoying nooks in each others’. But you know, you gotta gauge it person to person and never handle someone else’s horns without asking first.

Korydass: “I’ve been led to understand that is always something… intimate for Dragonborn. Something that you’d only ask a lover to do.”

Wyll: “Led to understand?”

Korydass: “I haven’t spent a lot of time around other Dragonborn.”

Wyll: “Oh.”

Shortly after this Karlach would offer to point out the proper oil to buy for his horns when they next saw it and the dialogue would end.

Kory would absolutely have something to say about the exsanguinated boar, which would change depending on if Astarion was in the party at the time or not. After the Vampire reveal, she’ll note she’d suspected he was a vampire since then (if you have not found the boar or she wasn’t in party, she’ll be surprised).

An early exchange with Lae’zel would have her nearly flirting with Kory, and it all going over Kory’s head:

Lae’zel: “You fight ferociously, like the beasts you embody.”

Korydass: “Well, that’s, um, the point of undergoing the transformation.”

Lae’zel: “I appreciate your tactical approach as well. You beguile your foes with your seemingly soft nature, then you tear out their throats when they’ve let their guard down.”

Korydass (surprised, and honestly a little alarmed by the description): “I—uh… thank… you?”

Lae’zel: “However, you could do with physical training for this form. Should you wish it, I will assist you.”

Korydass: “I’ll… take that into considerstion.”

There will be chatter between her and Gale about assisting him with the cooking; Gale politely calls her cooking “rustic” and Kory takes it as a massive compliment. They do discuss foraging quite at bit, with Gale occasionally making requests of Kory for certain ingredients if she can manage it or use druidic magic to grow said ingredients.

Bismuth was normally seen as just A Guy™️, but he was known to be sweet and level-headed, a good compliment to Karlach's enthusiastic personality

As an ice dragon, he was able to use some of his frost breath on Karlach to help her cool down even if just a bit

This helped her to sleep, and Karlach was very grateful for the nights where Bismuth would cold-breathe on her until she fell asleep

Karlach was very interested in having a dragonborn companion, wondering just how strong he could be

Though they couldn't touch for obvious reasons, there were other ways to test strength like seeing who could throw increasingly heavy rocks the farthest, who could swim the farthest, hold their breath the longest, and who could beat the most party members in arm-wrestling matches

Karlach didn't really care about who won the contests, she had so much fun just messing around with Bismuth

She also loved following Bismuth around as he goes from room to room during their adventures grabbing everything of value

Karlach is very proud of her duty to carry the heavier finds for him. The weight would do so she could imagine carrying him around in her arms someday (despite Bismuth being a good few inches taller than her and likely heavier)

Handling things that required Strength checks? Also something she loved doing for him

Bismuth was definitely kinder than his friend Chandrelle. While both would help those in need, Bismuth inclined towards Karlach's methods: Smashing up the bad guys in daring acts of valor

Bismuth's dedication to finding Infernal Iron for Karlach's engine is just another thing that gets the engine revving

ive started writing a dragonborn simon no chosen one au bc its been rotting my brains for MONTHS so heres a little bit from the prologue!

Lucy’s mind drifts farther and she cannot call it back. She tries to grasp at something as it passes through her memories, something almost lost, something important.

She tries to reach.

She tries so hard to reach.

Her baby boy hiccups, and his little red wings jump slightly in surprise. Lucy smiles and reaches out her hand to rub at his back, her fingers finding the spot where flexing red tendon and bone melts into thick, chubby skin and her mind grabs at the feeling. 

Lucy remembers. 

Briefly, for a few moments, she remembers the ember-like glow of her mother’s eyes as she spoke of old, dead clans, and of the generations of Salisburys that were now ash in the earth. Lucy remembers the spark in her mother's voice as she whispered smoldering secrets, about the ones who could fight and burn and shift and fly.

 'The Salisbury name was once akin to something powerful, Lucy-love, something you’d never even dream of. My own mother told me legends and myths of how we rode, how we flew with them. ‘Like companions’, she said, ‘like friends’. But I know better. They weren’t myths, my rose girl; just stories long gone. We didn’t fly with the dragons, Lucy. We flew as the dragons.’

As the dragons . . .

Originally I wasn't going to do an introduction for Self Insert #3 but I changed my mind ❤️‍🔥 anyways. S/I for dra/gon's dog/ma, Elpida "Elda" Castalia Igaliko. Originally commissioned as a custom from Birthday on TH (the reference art is done by them!), but by sheer coincidence she fit near perfectly into the universe as is 😭 she's specifically meant to be shipped with Julien 💘

She is descendent from a long line of heroes. Her mother was cursed to transform into a dragon while still with child, leading to Elda herself taking on some draconic features though she's able to use magic to hide the majority of them. Her heart shaped prayer book, the Codex Amores, is filled with powerful incantations and is a family heirloom. She is feared due to being something between Human and Beast, which leads to her isolating herself from the world as well, fearful she may be hurt or hunted down otherwise 💔

Fun fact: Her name is a bunch of references to the song she's inspired by ("hope" "fire" "to sew" "abandoned hearth").

tfw you're a knight from a fairly well off family so you've never had to step into a kitchen a day in your life. and later you get married but your wife is very particular about how she likes things done so she doesn't let you into the kitchen. And then your wife divorces you to become god and you end up spending time traveling between your homeland and the little village that was your ex's hometown mostly eating at other people's houses so you still don't end up cooking for yourself. But then you get a sexy new girlfriend (who is sometimes a dragon) and you want to impress her. but you still don't know how to cook 💔
