🌿-- Jin's eyes quietly fixed on his hands , watching how they shifted and morphed . Not in a bad way , or a judgemental way , but in a way of sheer { { c u r i o s i t y } } . It worried her , a bit , to see him so stressed . She wondered what it was that was plaguing his mind so much . She wasn't going to pry . It wasn't her place to dive that { { d e e p } } when she wasn't certain if he'd want to talk about it in the first place .

So , Jin clasped her hands in front of her as she looked across the table at him . She smiled , it was gentle and pure . ❝ If it helps you , then that's all that matters . Everyone has things that they do when they're stressed , or when they are feeling anxious . Sometimes , the best thing that you can do is move . ❞

She looked from his hands to her own , thinking about her own methods to calm her worried thoughts and { { e n d l e s s } } anxieties about the world . ❝ I think i like your method for how you handle those sorts of things . It seems . . . Healthy . I'm glad that you've found something that helps you , but , for what it's worth . . . I'm sorry that you feel like you have to do that at all . ❞ She lifted her jasmine green eyes up to his earthy brown ones , ❝ I'm Jin , by the way . It's nice to meet you . ❞

ahh feeling a bit off emotionally after yesterday. I went to a midsummer festival which was beautiful and had great music and it was fun to be around people. But it was also weird to be around so many couples and families. And while I never want to be in a relationship myself, having seen too many toxic ones, some ending really tragic too, it still left me feeling a lot like an outsider looking through a glass to a happy home. I don't want to be in their place but I don't want to be on the outside too and now I'm feeling weird

Edgar woke up to a shout. He blinked himself awake, groggy and confused. JJ was sitting up beside him, blanket pooled at his waist. He was breathing hard, chest moving fast and frantic. Edgar frowned at the sight.

"What's wrong?" he asked, sleepily reaching out to grab his hand. He sat up, resting his head on JJ's shoulder. "You good?"

JJ absentmindedly patted his face, nearly poking him in the eye. "'M okay. Just had a bad dream."

Edgar frowned again, pressing kisses to his bare skin. "What happened?"

"It's not a big deal. Let's just go back to sleep."

His voice was too shaky for Edgar to believe him, but he wasn't going to push. He'd tell him in his own time.

Not even ten minutes later, he was woken up again by JJ thrashing and nearly shoving him to the floor.

"Oh goodness gracious," he grumbled before reaching out and shaking him awake.

JJ startled awake with a yelp. "Ah! What?"

"Ya almost pushed me offa the bed cause you were squirming around like a worm."

He sighed in relief as he seemingly realized where he was. "Sorry."

Edgar waved off the apology. "It's fine. But now you gotta tell me what's bothering you."

He ran his hands over his face, obviously not pleased with that. "Do I have to?"

"Sure do."

"It's ridiculous," he complained, throwing himself back onto the pillows.

"Most things you do are ridiculous, sugar plum," Edgar joked as he laid beside him.

JJ wrapped an arm around his waist, his hold a little tighter than usual. "It's about you," he started. He traced a heart on Edgar's back through the fabric of his shirt. "You, uh, being taken by your dad. You not wanting to come back."

Edgar's heart crumbled to dust in his chest. "Oh, honey bee."

JJ hid his face in the pillow he was using. "I told you it was stupid."

"It's not stupid," he argued, "I have nightmares about that too. 'Bout you not wantin' me no more. 'Bout me not making it back."

It had been horrific. The fear that he might actually die. The fear that he'd never see the people he loved again. He was always the one who was left behind. He knew that pain, knew it like the palm of his hand. And JJ knew it too. From his mother. His father. Who knows who else.

Maybe, with each other, they wouldn't have to feel that pain anymore.

"But.. don't worry. I'm stayin' right here. Just you n' me, till you're sicka me."

JJ grabbed his hand, pressing a kiss to his dolphin ring. "Well then I guess you're stuck with me forever because I'll never get sick of you. That pretty face is why I keep you around."

Edgar rolled his eyes, grabbing the back of his head to manhandle him into a forehead kiss. "Go to sleep. We got church in the mornin'."
