Playing an emotional video game with the Genshin Men

A/N: Managed to squeeze a short and sweet Indie game (that hit me in my feels) into my busy schedule at the moment and now I can't stop thinking about playing Games with an emotional story with the Genshin men... There aren't many men included in this brainrot because this was just a random shower thought. I could throw it on my WIP pile and flesh it out at some point if you want.

Neuvillette would put his arm around your shoulder while you start crying over what is going on in the game. And while he wouldn't outwardly cry it suddenly starts pouring outside.

Alhaitham would be surprised to suddenly see tears streaming down your face as you're playing the game. He isn't sure how he should react or console you. He would hesitantly lift a hand and begins stroking your back and put your head on his shoulder in silence.

Kaveh watched you play the entire time and gets heavily invested in the game as well. So when the emotional scene comes up you're both just bawling together on the couch. He's definitely the type of guy who would discuss everything about the game in depth with you later on.

Wriothesley starts massaging your scalp with his free hand as he watches you play. And he doesn't want to admit it but the game too hit him into the feels. So he attempts to hide his face from your field of view and blinks some tears away, while being your shoulder to cry on.

Alhaitham is the type of boyfriend to always infodump on you whenever something crosses his mind. He loves doing it! And he also loves your reactions to those random bits of trivia.

However - he is also the type of guy whose kind of humor is occasionally telling you fake "facts" that he made up on the spot with a straight face to see your reaction.

You were standing in the kitchen, preparing dinner with Alhaitham when he suddenly perked his head up and looked in your direction. You were plucking a couple of leaves off your herbs before throwing them into the pot that bubbled on the stove. "Did you know," Alhaitham begins in a matter-of-factly voice. "Oregano was once included in the periodic table of elements?" You pause for a moment, looking back at Alhaitham who had already gone back to dicing the bell peppers. "Wait... really?" You curiously lift an eyebrow. It was frankly hard to imagine a singular plant would be- "No." "Oh." He smirked smugly, walked over to the stove with the cutting board, and threw the diced vegetables into the cooking pot. "But... what's actually true is that coffee shortens your lifespan." That would be quite crazy if that was true... However now that you are thinking about it, maybe the caffeine was the reason for it? After all it can cause a racing heart if you consume too much of it. "Actually?" You asked, now hesitant. "No." "Hey! Don't mess with me!" You whined, poking his sides playfully. He turned around, catching your hands in his calloused ones before placing a kiss on your knuckles, that same smirk and the glint in his eyes still on full display. "But there is one thing in this world that can actually never be false." "Oh what now?!" You rolled your eyes and giggled. "I love you." Smooth. 'You're such an idiot' Was the last thing he heard before the kitchen towel was softly thrown in his face.

Thinking about Genshin men and taking a warm bubble bath with them.

With all the nice smelling essential oils, rose petals swimming in the water, a candlelit bathroom, and quiet music playing in the background. They gently wash your hair, massaging your scalp in circular motions, their chest pressed firmly against your back, and their arm gently snaked around your waist from behind. An occasional kiss is placed at your nape...

A/N: This thought came about because it's so cold here atm. Unfortunately, we don't have a bathtub at our current apartment *cries* - But just physical, non-explicit intimacy has me melting like candlewax in the sun 🫠 could it be any more obvious my love language is physical touch? SDIKFHSD- I need to write a fic like this.

I have a meeting in half an hour but all I can think of is Genshin men being totally whipped for you.

Imagine Alhaitham just being off the clock for work as his secretary comes into his office to inform him that someone wants to speak to him. He is just about to decline with an annoyed groan when he spots you standing in the doorway. With a loudly beating heart, he tells you to come in. He will always find time for you.

Or imagine Kaveh being supposed to work on a blueprint for his newest project but all he can focus on is you sitting across the room. And subconsciously he just starts sketching your image on his paper because he cannot take his eyes off of you.

Diluc who slides you another drink when you come by the Tavern and then sees how your face lights up. Keeps watching you with a faint smile as he observes how your lips wrap around the rim of the glass, secretly wondering what they would feel like on his lips.

Do I add this to my drafts and write a fic with it? Maybe...

// Alhaitham x Reader, Crack

Thinking about how it's completely possible that when you tell Alhaitham to already "cut out" the Christmas cookies while you're gone, he thinks about it in an overcomplicated way.

You leave the house to get more powdered sugar and return to chaos™️.

He's trying to figure out how he is supposed to make star shapes out of the dough like you told him to and he is stumped.

I could imagine him drawing a geometrically perfect star shape on cardboard that he cuts out and places on the rolled-out dough. Then he starts individually tracing around that shape with a knife. It takes forever and he starts to wonder why people willingly put this much effort into cooking/baking.

When you return he has only cut out around 15 cookies. And while holding back a laugh you to open the drawer next to him and hand him the star-shaped cookie cutter.

"Why would people own things like this?" "To prevent them from doing whatever you're doing, Haitham."

TL;DR: Haitham doesn't know cookie cutters because he never really had the urge to bake cookies himself.

Alhaitham is the type of guy that hides his crush well. Only his close friends would know he has a crush on you.

Not because he told them, because he didn't, but because he starts infodumping and is all too happy to explain things to you or discuss anything with you. It's clear as day to them that he is interested in you.

If it was anyone else, he'd not engage in it at all or would simply cut it off because he isn't interested. Not with you though.

You probably think he can't stand you because he always seems very cold and distanced.

But due to that you don't notice the little hints. Like how he seeks you out when he wants to discuss something, how he always wants your input on things or how he asks his friends if you'll be joining them at the Tavern as well later.

Alhaitham is unbelievably meticulous when he plans to buy something.

He isn't the type of man to simply splurge on things out of impulse, every purchase is carefully considered. Sometimes even too careful...

Do you want a new set of frying pans? He's reading about different kinds of coating, non-stick qualities, and material density of different brands and makes an extensive list of different pans with pros and cons.

He wants a new desk? He considers a million things: Which height does it need to be to keep his posture ideal? Which material is the most robust and durable? Which color deters his focus the least?

New coffee brand? Which one is the most acidic? How much caffeine is in it? Where do the beans come from and are they of high quality?

He does this so often and whenever you see him do the most insane amount of consideration for the most mundane things you find yourself in disbelief. How could anyone be so meticulous over something so inconsequential?

A/N: Inspired by my boyfriend who just watched a 40-minute video about wallets + reviews and ratings, since he plans to get a new one. God help me- /silly

Whenever Kaveh and you get into a fight, no matter how minuscule, he gets so worried and anxious that you're going to leave him.

Ever since his childhood, he has had a fear of abandonment. He feels unworthy of your love and wouldn't even hold it against you if you left him now. Especially after how he just treated you.

So, when he sees the resentment in your eyes after the fight and you leave the house without another word, he feels like yet another home he found comfort in was taken from him. Leaving his heart shattered and empty once again.

He wants nothing more but to break down and cry.

And that's exactly what he does.

No thoughts, only Kaveh gingerly wrapping his arms around your waist from behind and placing featherlight kisses on the exposed skin of your neck.

And upon inquiring what he's doing there, he just replies with: "Is a man not allowed to appreciate a fine piece of art?"

I believe Jing Yuan is the type of guy to send you cute cat pics and videos through DMs all the time.

And you just know he watched them while smiling at his phone.

I love this! There is so much room for brainrots with this scenario, I'm obsessed! I can only reiterate down-bad Alhaitham is my favorite genre 🤭

The thought of Kaveh using Y/N as a shield is so funny to me.

Like imagine you're just peacefully making some dinner for yourself in the kitchen and as usual you can hear the two blockheads bickering about Archons know what (again).

Cue Kaveh storming into the kitchen and going "Tell him he's absolutely wrong! I can't deal with this anymore. You're the only one he listens to anyway."

Of course, Alhaitham follows closely after. "Kaveh, they don't even know what's going on. Besides, stop making them pick sides."

You notice how Kaveh scoots a little closer and behind you so you stand in between him and Alhaitham. Sort of like a barrier for the verbal onslaught going on between the two.

Also Y/N going out with the Sumeru boys? heck yeah!

Needless to say, they absolutely carry you home if you get drunk, no questions asked. And lucky for you, by then you're too far gone and don't have to hear the fighting that unleashes between Kaveh and Alhaitham about who gets to carry you home on their back. Tighnari and Cyno can just roll their eyes at the two fools.

Now, imagine Cyno bringing his TCG cards and he asks Alhaitham to play with them and he keeps declining every time. The game is "too boring for him" or he is simply "not in the mood to play."

That is until you join them a little while later at the Tavern, enthusiastically asking if you could join in on a couple of rounds of TCG.

You'll never see Alhaitham volunteer to play against anyone this fast. Everyone knows what is going on but you. You, who is obliviously playing cards with the usually stoic gray-haired man, whose cheeks have turned a light shade of pink.

It makes the other guys just chuckle in amusement. Well, everyone aside from Kaveh who is seething on the inside when he sees how much fun you're having with Alhaitham. Expect glares that could kill to be exchanged between the two men.

Alhaitham is also acting unusually cheeful and smiley. Always smiling faintly whenever you laugh at something. Literally follows you every move with his eyes.

I imagine that Kaveh would try to divert your attention away from the cards and to involve you more into a conversation with him but is only semi-successful since you keep insisting you'd first have to win a round against Alhaitham.

Little do you know that "the bastard" (to quote Kaveh's thoughts) is not letting you win on purpose so you don't talk as much to Kaveh and keep you for himself.

In the prospect of conflict, I believe Alhaitham is the kind of person to simply go quiet and turn his back on you to leave.

It's infuriating because you know he does it both because he thinks starting a fight isn't worth his time and because he wants to rile you up because he is angry as well.

It almost makes it impossible to talk it out whenever he is angry at you. Because he will simply give you the silent treatment, staring daggers at you, and become passive-aggressive. There then always is this consuming suffocating feeling in the air that constricts you like a straightjacket and lets you know he is angry but you have no way to alleviate it.

A/N: Fighting with Alhaitham honestly seems like the most unpleasant thing ever if he truly is angry and serious about it.

Thinking about yn using the boys while they shop for groceries because the two are too smitten to say no.

Imagine the gossip !!!

We know cyno and tighnari will use the yn card.

Haha, yes! Y/N could just go "Boys, can someone go buy XY for me" and Kaveh and Alhaitham would without a single doubt start bickering about who is allowed to go get it for you.

"I have to leave to return something to the library anyway so it would be the most logical thing if I went." "Oh, is that so? It so happens that I need to talk to a client about a project in the city, right next to the store. So, naturally, it is more convenient if I went." "I'm sure your client is waiting, don't let them wait any longer. You have to make money somehow after all. I'm off work already and returning the book is just leisure time. So clearly, the odds speak for themselves, I'll go."

Also, I can imagine, whenever things don't go Kaveh's way, he'd be quick to pull the Y/N card as well. Like when Alhaitham is not tidying up after himself, letting books lie around, or random used plates stand on his desk. Or whenever he's literally doing anything that Kaveh doesn't like.

"I wonder what Y/N would say about this, if I told them that you [...]"

Cue a very annoyed Alhaitham doing whatever Kaveh was complaining about. You're just his weakness. What can a man do?

And yes, Cyno and Tighnari see through both Kaveh and Alhaitham immediately after you joined their Tavern evenings once. I mean one would need to be blind to not see that both these men are head over heels for you and are fighting a secret war over you behind your back.

Now imagine there is a discussion going on and naturally both your roommates start bickering about something, as usual. Eventually, Tighnari and Cyno exchange glances and Tighnari just goes "Y/N what do you think? Who is right?"

They've never been so quiet this fast.

Al Haitam who wakes up in the middle of the night to find Kaveh and yn baking cookies.

Yn is spared because his big fat crush, kaveh gets lectured.

Ohhh my gosh imagine... (this also got longer than I thought but I could stop myself from brainrotting soooo enjoy <3). And as a preface to this drabble: Flustered Alhaitham is my favorite genre fr.

"Cookies"

Alhaitham is woken up by some banging and drilling sounds coming from the kitchen. Naturally, his mind wanders to Kaveh first thing. Because who else would be insane enough to cause such a ruckus at 3 am in the morning?

At first, Alhaitham pulls his pillow over his head in order to try and muffle the annoying sounds. He definitely doesn't want to sleep with his noise-canceling headphones again since he is unable to sleep on the side with them.

Eventually, he finds it too uncomfortable to press his pillow to his head and decides to get up to give Kaveh the scolding of a lifetime.

He practically tramples to the kitchen, not even putting in the effort to put a shirt on before, because of how furious he is and how much he wants the noise to stop.

"Kaveh! Have you ever considered that some people are trying to get an adequate amount of undisturbed sleep?" Alhaitham starts shouting as he walks along the hallway and turns right to enter the kitchen with balled fists and eyebrows furrowed in anger.

"You're unbelievable. What are you even-" he continues his tirade before being interrupted by someone running into him and effectively shutting him up immediately. And it was none other than you. With flour on your cheek and those innocent-looking eyes, he could fall for again and again.

"Cookies. We're baking cookies... Oh, I'm sorry, did we wake you up?" you ask innocently. Alhaitham doesn't want to say it but seeing you makes his anger dissolve into thin air. You could wake him anytime and he'd be content. Kaveh on the other hand...?

"Yes, but it's okay," he reassures you before addressing Kaveh directly. "And you; stop enabling everyone in this goddamn house to join in on your stupid ideas! Do you understand? It's 3 a.m., go to bed, for Archon's sake!"

"Wha- it wasn't even my idea!" Kaveh exclaims exasperated.

"It was actually my idea." You admit with a shrug and an awkward smile, patting Alhaitham's bare shoulder a couple of times, effectively frying his synapses. Because it wasn't until now that he realizes he is standing in front of you with his upper body entirely exposed the entire time.

Alhaitham can feel a blush beginning to bloom on his cheeks before he quickly turns around to stomp back to his room, the feeling of the touch of your hand still lingering on his exposed skin.

The last thing Alhaitham hears, before closing his door behind him once more with a loudly beating heart and a flushed face, is Kaveh's snicker and a "Quite fascinating behavior there, Acting Grand Sage."
