Her answer however left him pretty stunned, enough so that it took a bit for him to finally say something.

A group of tiny, wiggly little plants scarpers up on to Mammon's desk, all of them collectively working together to haul themselves up with a folded piece of paper in tow. The largest of the group — no larger than Mammon's palm — took it upon itself to unfurl the paper before the demon. The writing was... mostly legible, but the key here was that it seemed to not be the same handwriting as the person named upon it.

It seemed that this was part of a new trend in the Devildom — Valentine's day forms to "apply" to be one's lover for the day. What's more, the familiars had penned this application in place of their master, apparently because Xavier himself was too modest to allow himself the indulgence. Between the sloppy handwriting, childish wording, and the little vine-like "footprints" made with ink all over, they were clearly hoping Mammon would accept their hard work — enough so that they all seemed to smile up at him as best flowers could smile.

A tiny part of him wondered if he should have helped them along, made the process a little quicker for the little plants, but a larger part told him it was amusing watching them all work as hard as they did. They reached their goal in the end, application laid out in front of him without shame.

Mammon knew pride when he saw it, and even if it laid with a dozen or so sentient plants. All of their efforts had lead to this, their smiles softening at his heart and encouraging a rare one of his own.

"Look at you little shits." He reached out and nudged the largest one with a finger before taking the paper into hand. "Damn, this handwritin' is worse than mine! Guess I can still read it, but. . ."

He looked up from the application, towards the familiars. Every now and then, his brain refused to connect, but that wasn't the case now. Mammon could tell that this hadn't been peen by Xavier's hand, but he wasn't upset by the intent of the familiars. In fact, he thought it sweet that they wanted their master to find happiness.

"Alright, go on." He motioned them aside, a faint blush touching at his cheeks. "I got plans t'make 'cause of you."

His plan was a simple one. All he had to do was take out his phone and send the exchange student a single text. It was short and demanding, but it made his intent clear — he hoped.

He would accept no arguments. If the holiday was meant to celebrate love between people, no matter the form and despite the fact that he was a demon, then he aimed to spend it with the one person that made him feel genuinely cared for.
