📚 some thoughts on the freshman 📚

forgot just how messy the freshman is omg,,, choices did it DIFFERENT back in the day ‼️

chris was a total jerk for sleeping with/ pursuing the mc, ((andrea in my case)), telling her they have something special, & then choosing to entertain becca bc he doesn’t want to catch feelings??? wild. i mean, i guess that’s a lot more realistic than a lot of these pixel men are- but still. i do feel bad for him bc the whole suit chooses to side with andrea & essentially ignore chris which sucked 😅

kaitlyn kind of breaks my heart 😭 she’s such a fun & genuine friend right of the bat- then she gets dragged into the mc’s messiness!! i mean, don’t get me wrong, this girl loves drama as much as everyone else in this messy house,, but she really catches feelings for andrea only to be considered an option out of many while still feeling obligated to be a friend while she’s hurting. i love her decision to take a break from alcohol after she realizes how it was damaging her- it’s a really cool part of her character 💕

james isnt even really included for the first good chunk of the book. but i do really love the whole fake fiancée bit & wish it lasted a little longer 🥺 him and andrea have cute banter & hats off to this man for putting up with the tornado of drama that follows her everywhere she goes. he can be kind of an enabler lol,, but so can every other character in these books.

like, for example, ZACK!! love him sm though. i thought it was cute the way he was so obsessed with everyone’s love life & then terrified to pursue a man who was clearly interested in him. lolz. it was cool to see zack and tyler’s friendship happening separate to andrea. it really feels like the characters in this book were people with lives- not just people whose existence revolved around the mc (which happens in choices books pretty often)

ALSO wow abbie is so mean to tyler!! she’s snippy and rude and gets so upset @ him when he says literally anything. and for everyone around them to constantly be trying to get them together?!?! over leila who actually pursues him in a normal way!?!? CRAZY 😵‍💫 abbie’s not really that likable tbh,, but i like how andrea & kaitlyn did their best to make her feel loved & included,, very sweet of them 💗

super low stakes compared to other books- but i love the slice of lifeness of it <3 again- super different than modern choices books.

i do appreciate how diamond choices actually feel worth it now compared to older books. also how modern choices is prettier to look @ let’s be real,,

but also i feel like a lot more love and care is felt when you read the older books- especially the og freshman books 🙌

moral of the story- the freshman holds such a huge place in my heart & wow is it messssyyyy 😭💕

I wouldn't be the reason Chris lost his dad," Buck swallows and Eddie sees pain in Buck's eyes unrelated to the wound in his stomach. But Buck turns away from him saying the following words. This is not happening. No, no, no. Buck can't tell him that he loves him so much, dying for Eddie in his arms.

"Yes. I'm sorry I said that now. I obviously didn't make it any easier for you," Eddie wants to shout that Buck's death would never have been easy for him. He wants to wake up in his bed and find out that this is just the worst nightmare he's ever had. "But Eddie, at some point I'll just be a memory. And I hope you will remember me with a smile. Solar opposites season 4 ‼️SPOILERS‼️

*typing on August 14th, 11pm*

Okay so…I was only right about a few things XD

Their specific dispute that we saw last season (little mountain lake) WAS actually talked about/ mentioned? But mostly through the red goobler (Chris) explaining it to Jesse when she had her own goobler. I actually liked that him and korvo actually met again so it could be explained that for korvos goobler to disappear he has to get over that specific issue he has (like Jesse did).

Pupa hasn’t called them dads yet, but he acts more of a toddler (and they acknowledge that what their family needs to do is important for the pupa and I like that structure they had) which is AMAZING, because holy shit they act like a family so many times this season 😫💝💕💕 (and call each other a family and it’s amazing 🥺💕💕)

ONE OUNCE OF ROMACE?!?!!?! ERmMMMM more like 10 cups of it 0//////0 we were FED a BOUNTIFUL this season and the village is thriving.

Yumyalack does do his own thing and gets a bit of characterization but nothing else really. The birth a day episode was like a little glimpse of it, however it was very nice :3 and I like the way they’re taking his character.

More screen time DEFINITELY, and FINALLY A MOMENT OF FUCKING PEACE AND TRANQUILITY IN THE WALL THANK FUCKING CHRIST IT WAS A RELIEF. The silvercops also got alot of attention here as well! And it was pretty good; the world that was created by symbolically establishing anti-cop messages (which I LOVE) was amazingly done and I appreciate that they didn’t shy away from showing the ugly side of things (ie. discrimination, violence, gentrification, etc).

The ending of the silvercops plot kinda confused me though like wtf? Uhhhhh what’s happening….?

Not gonna lie the way korvo acts this season makes me wanna punch him, like why is he a dick?? Sure his character in early seasons was grumpy but he never really went out of his way to be an ass, just controlling or salty, but no! The whole goobler thing with him and Jesse and him roasting yumyalack went way too far (in my opinion) and it also just made me uncomfortable like dude, that’s ur kids SHUT THE FUCK UPPP rahhhhhh.

Terry and korvos relationship definitely improves though.

The ending of the season…..*deep breath* I’m mixed about it, like I know it’ll be solved in the upcoming valentines special but a little part of me is worried that it’s just gonna be a “hahah we got you, they’re actually gonna be humans and get discriminated against again” and that makes me scream.

I’m mixed about it because I’m curious about how this’ll work yet I fucking hate how they couldn’t just talk it out at home (like they usually do)

I just *hhHHYGYGYGYgy* I..I’m scared, but also excited.

Overall, I did really like this season, a lot of the parts made me happy stim and about make my heart skip beats. I’m so ecstatic for what’s next 🥺💕💕

RESIDENT EVIL 2 REMAKE

‼️SPOILERS AHEAD‼️

- I like it

- Was very spooked during my first play through

- But one thing that lacks is the music, so it’s a good thing I have the DLCs, because the OG OSTs are chefs kiss, it really got me in the mood and even tho when I turned them on I already had done my first run with Leon and was now doing it with Claire, so I was more confident, I was immediately more on edge because of some of them.

- Doing the first run a second time is a bit “boring” the first half is just very predictable and despite some minor changes to fit with Claire’s play trough it’s just basically the same as Playing with Leon first. So I was a bit more comfortable considering I had already played it… but still it made me want to make sense with the “lore” which was very complicated since it’s the SAME

- I love Leon, and I love his corny one liners 💕 he’s just so bbgirl and puppy like

- I enjoyed Ada too!! Love the way she acted with Leon, the annoyance all that…. Love it. even tho the kiss was very sudden, sure there was some “tension” but to me it felt more like a one sided puppy love Leon felt. Well until after the kiss cause it did feel like Ada wasn’t 100% totally indifferent to him either. Also she’s very mysterious and stays this way in later games too! I also like it. You also think she’s very cold and calculating when you first meet her, but she’s actually a tad bit caring (she treated Leon’s gunshot wound when she could have just left him)

- I also really like Claire! (Fuck Chris for not telling her he was going to Europe tho….talk about some older brother 🙄) she also has some one liners up her sleeve and I actually liked them (seems like I enjoy cornyness)

- Sherry, baby 🥺, I love her, she wasn’t annoying at all, and I just feel for her, she was a second choice to her parents… she just deserves better overall

- Loved the dynamic between Claire and Sherry, just Claire risking it all to help her and cure her, she didn’t give up on her when her own mother did. Just… enjoyed Claire’s run because of this.

- Iron’s disgusts me

- Even if Marvin was only seen a couple of times awake, I still liked him, even though he was a cop I liked his character! Une penser à toi Marvin, mon reuf 🫶

- William Birkin is ugly….

- When playing Ada’s segment during his run I felt very confident (the confidence was turned down a notch when mr.x killed me for the very first time in my whole run)

- Sherry’s segment was a bit more stressful to me since we control a kid, and she just can’t defend herself (I had to look at a guide for her segment cause I was shitting myself not knowing what to expect….)

- As for the boss fights, it was just the same as when shooting at the zombies, even though Birkin phase two, was different since you need to stun him and then push the button so the container can push him off the platform, and the first time I did it I just shot at him and ultimately died because I didn’t see there was the platform and all that so I just stayed in the same spot because I had assumed you had to do the same thing as phase 1, so I just didn’t know what I was supposed to do…. As for mr.X boss fight I don’t know if you just wait a certain time until Ada gives you the weapon to be able to kill him or not, anyways I just emptied my guns on him. Birkin phase 3 was just running around and shooting at his eyes until he “dies”, and for phase 4 with Claire you also just shoot him until he dies….

- Mr.X is very stressful to me no matter how many times I replay… I just feel better when I know he’s behind me… I just don’t like not knowing where he is, also don’t like being taken by surprise.

- The problem with the first run is just that it’s pretty much the exact same thing despite choosing either Leon or Claire. So for the people who did the run a second time with either of them and didn’t play the second run are “missing out” since it very different and “canonically” would be how Claire lived raccoon city, even if things are still kind of foggy about, who killed birkin and what happened to mister X yadiyada, also in the second run you get a lot of stuff earlier than in the first so it makes things a bit faster/easier, also there are a bit more enemies, or just enemies that show up at places where they weren’t in the first run.

- So to me it’s a bit annoying that the dev’s didn’t just do, when you Play Leon the event’s go like the first run did, and if you choose Claire it goes like the second run. But I guess it just is a bit like the OG RE2 with the B and A scenarios.

- Leon’s noir outfit is 🥵🫠

- TALKING ABOUT COSTUMES! Love Leon’s R.P.D uniform, he has no fashion style tho… he just dresses like a regular white American sitcom character

- Claire’s outfit I also do not like… I prefer the OG one….And the remake model of the OG costume is growing on me

- Love the Elsa Walker costume, love it even more since it’s a reference to a character that was a protagonist in the early stage of developing RE2.

- THE (true) ENDING IS SO CHEESY BAHAHAHA WITH THE SUNSET AND ALL THAT SHIT AND JUST LEON BEING LIKE “whatever comes our way we’ll be ready” BAHAHAHA IT’S JUST SO CORNY I CRINGED

- I’m not sure William cared for Sherry very much, even if I do think before the G-Virus completely took over is conscious he did try to protect her in some way, but he also couldn’t control it so he ended up infecting Sherry so…

- Even though I understand Annette wanted to destroy the G-Virus for the sake of the “world” because of the destruction it could cause, and in the end she did care for Sherry. She, objectively wasn’t a very good mother.

- Overall I doubt they cared for their daughter that much since

1. Her father just threw away his life without caring for the aftermath of losing him would do to Sherry, all because the G-Virus is his “life’s work”, that really tells a lot on his priorities….

2. Her mom literally said “stay home” when there was a whole outbreak going on outside… I’m not sure she’d be safe the whole time, and it just seemed like Sherry was a liability while she was trying to stop William. I get that you’re trying to “save people” but she’s still your daughter… the only time you can say that she cared a bit, was when she treated her before dying…. And that was all thanks to Claire…. (Claire is more of a mother to her than her own)

Notes: Here’s how I did! Keep in mind that my play through twitch Leon on assisted was the very first time I picked up an horror video game.. so I was stressed and scared. Then as I continued to play I got more comfortable as you can see with Claire.
