For desk pet and its accompanying stories what were the first few days/weeks like? Was Rhys always so forceful with her or did he try being gentle at first? He’s deliciously cruel to her and poor reader is staring to fall apart. Beautifully written as all your writing is. 🫶

Honestly I’d quite like to write a fic in the desk pet universe about what that first night was like?

I’ve had some thoughts about it—that reader would have been living in Velaris and wanted to help Rhys after what he went through to protect his court and that’s how their initial bond is formed, but while Rhys kind of emotionally latched onto her, there was a competition of some kind, or at least perceived competition that Rhys didn’t like between her and someone else?

Either way, I imagine he started out as charming and trying to gain her affections the normal way, before he eventually decides he’s lost enough—he deserves to have reader for himself. And so he invites her out to dinner, but reader essentially decides it’s too complicated and she needs time and Rhys just isn’t having it, and that’s when his personality switches up to how it is in desk pet and play-mate :)

I’ve mentioned in the past (I think) that I’d like to write the Stockholm Syndrome equivalent where we get to see what reader is like once Rhys has worn her down enough? I don’t know when I’ll get the chance to write that though, but it’s certainly something I’ll do eventually 🫠

I’ll have to decide whether to write their beginning first or their (kind of?😬😭) happy ending 🤦
