#''Killers'' is an interesting one because she's not afraid they're going to hurt her but she's afraid she'll lose control and hurt THEM.

Now that I work with a bunch of homophobes, I feel the weight of being a 'one of us.'
"Why are women so --- oh but not you, you're different."
"Why are gays so--' but you're not like them, you're more like us."
Krusty The Bird Killer rants for five minutes about black women being 'sluts that all have eight kids with different fathers because they'll lay with anything that moves,' and then talk sweet to our secretary, a black woman in her 40s who doesnt seem to count as a black woman when he's ranting.
I've been trying to put words to this behavior for awhile now. And I think it just comes down to 'us vs them.'
I showed up to work in a cowboy hat and work boots, wasnt afraid of the men's room, and lifted a 50 pound trash bag full of dog shit on my first day. I'm not like other women to them. I dont count. I'm one of us.
I talk about my girlfriend in a quiet way: I dont declare queer supremacy and I dont make my whole life about being queer and oppressed. I'm not like other lesbians. I dont count. I'm one of us.
They dont know me. They dont know my girly interests and they dont know about my political art pieces and they dont know about the fake eyelashes that I wore during pride. They certainly dont know I'm trans.
I passed their test. I'm 'one of the dudes.'
I'm really not, though.
If they saw me outside of work, I would be a Them. But they got to know me first. I'm in their list of "thems that are us." And every them that they meet can be an us. But they dont go out of their way to meet many thems.
I'm a Gay. I'm not the Gays. I'm (to them) a woman. I'm not Women. The secretary is black. But shes not The Blacks (pardon the phrasing, it hurt me to even type it that way.)
Every person is the stereotype of their group until someone gets to know them. But that doesn't disprove the stereotype- it just means that the person doesnt count as part of that group anymore. They're with us now.
Respectability politics really dont get us anywhere. If you're out to disprove the stereotype out of a sense that you'll change their minds, I'm telling you that energy is better spent living authentically if you are safe to do so.
Your influence on them doesnt change their perception of the box they put you in. They just put you in a smaller box. Fuck their opinions.

Omg completely down for mean!stalker Leigh, I've got sum idea like they're in a same group right? And then reader kind of sharing what she'd lost and her being abused by someone and Leigh going out her way to ruin this person who abused reader like my mind goes brRrrrrRRrRttttt,,,
RAAAAAHHHHHH I LOVE UR MIND
Leigh got used to seeing you in the group, but noticed you never had anything to say. It had been months since you joined, and you never uttered a word unless it was to her.
but this one particular time, the group decides to push you into saying something. Reasoning that “it had been months” and “you should be comfortable by now,”
after further insistence you caved and told everyone your losses, receiving a few pitiful hums and understanding nods. Then, you explain how speaking in public was only a new fear you had developed from an abusive relationship, also mentioning you had only gotten out of it several months prior.
you didn’t need to get into detail, you didn’t really want to, but your body language spoke volumes.
someone hurt you so much you were afraid to even talk? leigh started to imagine what you must’ve went through, someone hurting you when you are such a sweet, precious thing.
this made leigh lose it, a killer, almost animistic, instinct coursing through her. you could see it.
“what was their name?”
leigh questions, her hoarse voice filling the silence. you were shocked seeing her anger, she always acted as if she never liked you. you figured it was only because she lost her husband and she was just grieving in her own way, needing a little push to make some new friends.
“Lexi.” you say quietly. the tension in the room was electrifying, everyone could see it. you saw a few people shifting uncomfortably in your peripheral, but you couldn’t take your eyes away from hers. the look on her face made your heart beat ten times faster. you couldn’t tell if it was nervousness or excitement.
“Let’s take a break and eat some food, yeah?” Leah, the social worker, stands up and claps her hands together.
the next day, you’re comfortable on the couch watching the news. you hear that a brutally mutilated body had been found in an abandoned barn down a street you can’t remember the name of, somewhere around an hour and a half away from where you live.
you watch unsurprised, New York City was in its annual killer mode. a time of year where everyone seems to go rogue. Although it’s terrible, dead bodies found was nothing new.
“After a long and hard investigation, the body has been identified to be Lexi Warrington.”
~
(I don’t know what you wanted by ‘ruin’ but I think leigh torturing and killing them makes it a whole lot more interesting ( ᴗ͈ˬᴗ͈)ഒ)

Hey, so I was think how would your Avian Boys react to Fem Redaer playing a prank on them? (she knows them, they know her and they're cool like that leaning towards them wanting to be mates and her thinking it's cute when they gift her because she's that dense) anyways, this is the 'It's that time of month where I had to shed my skin' basically she's going to put a face mask that sticks to her face and she peels it off saying it's her old skin coming off she her face could be smooth and soft (bonus I'd she had chubby face cheeks)
Tumblr media
Oh boy... thanks for the ask!
Classic is so fucking confused, and kind of very muchly concerned. He wants to know how that works so much and will probably grab you and sorta gently scrabble at your face with his talons to see if there's anything in excess. He usually has a natural intrigue with your face- especially your cheeks- so just seeing you "pull of your skin" like that perplexes him. But then again, he wants to know more.
Once he finds out it's a prank, he'll probably squeeze your cheeks gently and snort- all with a conspiring grin that tells you he's definitely going to do something to get you back.
Red is. He's so confused. You get the whole head-tilt, wing drop, brow furrow that you'd probably find kind of cute as he stares at you for a long while before slowly, very intelligently, you hear him (probably for the first time) speak and all you hear is: "th' fuck?" He'll probably scoop you up and prod at your cheeks before you finally explain it was a prank- which immediately earns you a glare, a huff, a nuzzle, and the promise of him getting you back somehow.
Axe would be super intrigued! Not exactly confused, just big "WOAH". He'll get real close to you with his head tilted and eyelight enlarged before he asks whether that's an actual thing or not- likely narrowing his sockets at you when you tell him it's a prank. He'll then proceed to bap you over the head- albeit gently- with one of his wings before beginning to plan his own shenanigans.
(He hopes you're not afraid of heights.)
Dust immediately saw right through your lies. As one of the most powerful raptors out there, the difference in consistency between skin and the facemask is obvious to him- but it's very likely he still goes along with it. Even going so far as to peel some of it off himself with partially-faux intrigued body language. If this is something you find fun and silly then he's going to follow along to make you smile- it's worth more than all of the prey and shinies in the world to him. Hell, maybe he'll even do a few pranks himself.
Error is questioning everything. You've probably made him crash because people- specifically human-watching, is one of his hobbies. He's equally as interested and disgusted by humanity, so he does a lot of observing. He's probably equally as confused as he is concerned- did it hurt? Are you okay? Do you need help? I mean, he wouldn't touch you (haphephobia) but he's there to help if you need. Eventually once you tell him it was a prank he's going to playfully sulk, then probably make a (harmless) trap for you to fall into in order to get back.
Milord was likely suspicious, but also interested. He raises a brow and asks whether that's an actual thing, all the while studying the sides of your face- perhaps looking for clues that you were japing him, or perhaps if there was any more for him to help peel off? He's curious. Once he tells you it's a prank he squeezes your cheek with one of his hands with a vaguely amused expression. He now holds you in higher respect, being able to sneak around someone as intelligent as him.
Killer fucking flips. His hands go to the sides of his skull and his sockets widen comically before he proceeds to completely trap you in his embrace and check out your face. He probably notices a few pieces that aren't peeled off and don't seem the same consistency- or smell the same- as you skin- and then proceeds to place it on his skull for goofs. Your price for pranking him (even after you've told him) is him carrying you around, occasionally nuzzling your cheek.
Blue already knows what's up. He knows you're goofing but he's more than happy to play along- maybe he'll even tell you about some weird Avian things (and believe me, there are a lot of Weird Avian Things) that are actually true! He admires your willingness to be silly and not worry for your life (considering he knows his species' reputation), and fully expects you to prank him again! (He does ask whether the mask hurt, and what the mask was made out of)

Higurashi: Cotton Drifting Recap
So let me give my thoughts on the second arc of the series as a whole.
If Abducted by Demons is a Bad Ending where the protagonist is killed without ever discovering anything, then Cotton Drifting is a Neutral Ending where we discover the killer but failed to stop them.
Overall, the Cotton Drifting arc is my least favorite arc in the series. It's still a super important arc though because this is where we get the vast majority of the background information in the series. We learned about Hinamizawa's history, governance, and religion and those details will be important elements going into future arcs.
Cotton Drifting and Abducted by Demons both work hand-in-hand to fully onboard a new reader into the series. Cotton Drifting could never be a good first arc because it gives us an answer to the series of murders. I think it also doesn't delve far enough into the supernatural elements going on to hook a new reader into wanting to go further with the series.
Abducted by Demons had the role of hooking the reader in with this supernatural horror murder mystery. Once that was done, Cotton Drifting was able to step in and provide background information. It then also shifted us away from the murders and more to the supernatural elements of the story.
Cotton Drifting answered the initial question that Abducted by Demons asked. Who was behind the series of deaths and were they really caused by a curse from an angry god? The answer given is the murders were done by the Sonozakis to get rid of the village's enemies. There was no supernatural cause behind them.
But the arc doesn't try to touch on the supernatural elements that we've seen. What was with Rena's behavior in Abducted by Demons? What was that noise Shion and Tomitake heard? Was Takano really dead during the festival? Did Mion kill Keiichi from beyond the grave? These are the things the reader is expected to take interest in going forward.
I said at one point that Yutori Houjou's scary eye designs were "unhuman" while Karin Suzuragi's were "non-human". Every time someone had scary eyes in Abducted by Demons, that was accompanied by them acting in very non-human ways. But here, they tended to still appear human but their eyes were off-putting.
I'd say Yutori's approach is far more unsettling than Karin's because they hit that uncanny point. Karin's scary eyes tended to reach a point where my brain just processed Rena and Mion as non-humans whenever they started acting weird. But my brain still processed them as human when Yutori did the same thing.
And Yutori also used the eye scenes rarely and to maximum effect. The eyes ranged from blank, to dull, to those unhuman swirls. The last one is of particular note to me cause they only appear four times. Two of them are Rena and the other two are from Mion.
I feel like Rena doing the eye stuff is a big distraction. We've already had an arc where she was the insane psycho and then we go here. Eyes are on her expecting something. And then they're hit by Mion being the killer this time.
And this is my favorite panel this arc.
Tumblr media
That swirl pattern is used to unnerve the reader. The first time it happened was when Rena told Keiichi about Mion's feeling being hurt. We're supposed to be unnerved by her accusation toward him.
But this time it's being artificially overlaid on the scene. Rena isn't trying to accuse Keiichi. She's trying to help guide him toward the correct resolution. But he's mistakenly thinking she's still accusing him.
The ripples are not because there's something to be afraid of. It's just a reflection in a cup of tea.
Now for some updates on the info we have. Bold text is new info.
Character Info:
Keiichi Maebara: He moved to Hinamizawa three weeks ago.
Rena Ryugu: Birth name “Reina”.She had moved out of Hinamizawa when she was younger. At some point she assaulted three boys with a bat and smashed every window in her school. In her psych evaluations, she frequently talked about Oyashiro-sama as if she is possessed by it. She moved back to Hinamizawa a year ago.
Mion Sonozaki: Leader of the group’s after-school club. She has several misdemeanors due to her actions during the village’s protest against the dam project. She's the heir to the Sonozaki family and lives with her grandmother. She was involved in several of the past murders. She has a demon tattoo on her body.
Satoko Hojo: Related to the second and fourth set of victims. She and Rika live together.
Rika Furude: Related to the third set of victims. Rika is the head of the Furude family which is one of the main houses of Hinamizawa. She's in charge of the priesthood.
Shion Sonozaki: Mion's twin sister. Shion lives in Okinomiya with their parents.
Curaudo Ooishi: A detective with the local prefecture who wants to figure out the cause of all the deaths. He suspects a group within the village is behind the deaths.
Jirou Tomitake: A photographer who visits Hinamizawa several times through the year. He died by scratching out his throat.
Miyo Takano: A nurse at the local clinic. She went missing after the Cotton Drifting Festival. She was strangled and her corpse was cremated. Her autopsy suggests she died the night before the festival however.
Satoshi Hojo: Satoko’s older brother. He used to be part of the after-school club. He disappeared a year ago. Prior to his disappearance, he started carrying a bat and practiced his swinging. He also became distant from the club.
Village details:
Hinamizawa was originally known as Onigafuchi. The residents were believed to be descended from demons and the nearby villages offered tribute out of fear.
Oyashiro-sama is believed to be a god who gave the demons human form so they could live amonst humans
After the war, Mion's grandfather, Souhei Sonozaki, used black market funds to bring great prosperity to the village.
There are three main houses in Hinamizawa: The Sonozakis, the Kimiyoshis, and the Furudes.
Murder Mystery details:
Since 1979, someone has died each year during the Cotton Drifting Festival.
The first death was the director of the Dam Project. He was murdered and dismembered by several people. The person who took the right arm is still at large. However, the Director might still be alive.
The second death was Satoko’s parents. They fell off a cliff. The wife’s body was never found.
The third death was Rika’s parents. Her father died of an illness and her mother drowned herself in the swamp. Her body was never found.
The fourth death was Satoko’s aunt. She was beaten to death. Satoko’s brother Satoshi also went missing around that time.
The fifth death was Jirou Tomitake. He clawed out his throat after apparently being attacked by several people. Miyo Takano has also gone missing. Tomitake’s death is suspected of being drug induced.
Miyo Takano was also murdered. She was strangled and then burned.
Every death has a pattern of one discovered death and one missing person. People in the village refer to the disappearances as the person being “demoned away”
The villagers refer to the series of deaths as Oyashiro-sama’s curse due to the connections to the dam project. However, each new victim is less and less connected to the project. Tomitake had no connection at all, and Ooishi suspects the murderers are just targeting outsiders at this point.
Most if not all the murders were instigated by the Sonozakis to protect the village from outside threats.

#headcanons list#{{ I was so shocked to see emet0phobia acknowledged on this that I HAD to do it? Wow???#Also the ''God'' one is complicated because Azar is basically the Azarathean god (religious leader; more of a high priestess than deity)#but the Azar they worshipped/followed was like. Alive and living and aware for the first 8 or so years of Dove's life#and then still Interactive and Aware and Watchful of the Azaratheans even after she had died#but Dove's mother was so desperate to protect Dove from being discovered that she wouldn't even PRAY about Dove#and Dove picked up on that fear and was afraid to pray to Azar for a good long time even AFTER Azarath fell#that she avoided calling out to Azar until a moment in DDD where she's so thoroughly freaked out and desperate that she prays to her#hoping for an answer and that she would Make It Stop. (She didn't of course because like... DDD Still Happened.)#But it took a LOT of pressure and horror on Dove to finally pray aloud to her and not just secretly internally Hope She Does Something.#Though that changes after The Final Journey (read: the point at which I roleplay her here so this has happened for her already)#when Dove accidentally reaches out to Azar and Azar winds up guiding her on the journey to find these powerful gems#and at the end of TFJ it's revealed that Azar knew she was there all along. But she didn't bother doing anything about it because#in her words ''It wouldn't have made any difference. What happened was doomed to happen regardless.''#so yeah Dove's relationship with her religion is... somewhat Fraught and Hesitant but only somewhat. It's still really important to her.#''Blood'' is kind of dependent on the situation and how much she's forced to interact with it.#She's definitely very squeamish but it's less the blood itself that worries her and more how her stomach reacts to it.#''Killers'' is an interesting one because she's not afraid they're going to hurt her but she's afraid she'll lose control and hurt THEM.#After DDD happens Dove has a very sore spot around murder and murderers.#And there were SO MANY that got highlighted because of her huge struggles with social anxiety.

❗❗ TW ❗❗ sexual assault
Tumblr media
Her statement scared me... Like... Okay I got it, when I was still a kid I used to like (much) older guys, too, maybe like 10 yrs older or something. But then as I grew up I realized that even though it was a harmless crush, it's still dangerous and morally wrong to build a relationship between a minor and an adult. Still, it is understandable because as a kid we're still learning and cannot really differentiate yet as to what is morally wrong or not.
Now if this Lina person said that when they (sauceribs) were kids they thought Rin was going to ended up with Sesshomaru, shouldn't they be growing out of that mindset? Because they're adults now and they should've learned that romanticizing a minor and adult can be constituted as supporting grooming which is part of pedophilic behavior. Even if she they said that "it's just a drawing! it's not a big deal!", then again every time there's an animation that features POC or people from non-christian religions (e.g. buddhists muslims, &c.) as the main characters, we called them "representation". So, what makes it so different when it's a child or a teenager on screen? Won't it represents children/teenagers/young adults, too?
What I'm afraid of is not her mere statement, but what it might implies. If sauceribs' ways of thinking are like that, and they all now are adult, I'm afraid that they might let that mindset seeped into their every day's life. For example, they see a 20 yrs old something man hitting on a teenage girl and they'll be thinking "Oh yeah, that's totally fine. The girl definitely wants to be with him."
Tumblr media
And that's on a very basic and very common example of what grooming looks like in our modern society. But there are also child predators who is unheard of with appearance like a good, law-abiding citizen. Who knows that one of them are a mangaka? 👀 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I'm not saying that if you support sessrin then you'll become a pedophile. What I mean is that if you couldn't realize the disturbing nature of their relationship, it could potentially blind your judgement towards similar cases, real life or not.
Oh and one more thing. It seems that raisins and proshippers always deflect antis' statement with "So if you think that liking sessrin making me a lolicon/groomer supporter, then by that logic I wanna be a murderer too if I watch anime that has murder scenes huh?"
That's a good analogy and I've been thinking about it, too. But after some pondering, I don't think those are the same thing. Because, in the case of murder, we have been thought ever since we're little kids that it's bad to hurt other living creatures. So, even if we watch anime/movies with the MC being a killer, we'll realized - albeit unconsciously - that that's a wrong thing and we shouldn't do that. Only in some unfortunate (and extreme) cases where people are actually get inspired to murder other people or kill animals after watching anime/movies with that theme.... [1] [2].
Meanwhile, as for the case of grooming &/ other sexual abuse, we learned about all of that only recently, and just bit by bit too, thanks to the increased interest in law protection for women and especially for survivors who are brave enough to share their stories. Most of the time we can't sniffed it out immediately, particularly if we haven't known the couple for a long time or their background stories, because we've been told that "it's not our business" to know what's happening between a couple. That's why seeing a seemingly innocent couple in an anime/movie and being told "that man/woman sexually abuses his/her partner!" feels like a foreign thing to us, and of course for the die hard fans of the couple it feels like an insult hence the denial and deflection.
Again, if you wanna ask "wtf does the anime/movies couples hv to do with rl cases? 👿👿". Then I wanna ask you too, can you look at a teenager or a young adult who has been a real victim of sexual abuse and think "poor little thing..." but then proceed to watch an anime/movie that portrays a character with similar backstory? Will you be irked by the similarity or will you keep gushing over it?
In conclusion, justifying/normalizing sexual abuse in a mainstream media can leads you to justifying/normalizing sexual abuse in real life, too.

HOLD UP!!! You immediately had me at the "Twilight AU but Rory is the vampire" here 👀👀👀👀. Color me intrigued AND inspired.
Tumblr media
Ok so first off, the 'reveal' conversation. The COMEDY potential!! Just Jess being overall nervous but also pretty curious to know about what Rory as a vampire is like, whereas Rory is trying pretty hard to make him be more afraid and to hopefully get him to run away screaming so she can have some reason to tackle him, but this guy just isn't budging!
The shiny skin reveal! Like first off, THIS CAN'T BE THE SAME WITH EDWARD BECAUSE RORY'S NOT PLANNING ON STRIPPING IN FRONT OF JESS HERE (no matter how much she might like him despite her better judgement). Imagine the complete lack of suspense when she just uncovers her arm and shows Jess how it sparkles into the sunlight.
Rory: This is the skin of a killer, Jess!!
Jess: Wow, didn't know murderers had a continuous discount at Claire's for silvery glitter.
Rory: 😒
JESS WITH THE ICONIC GOOGLE SEARCH. THE DREAMS ABOUT RORY COMING IN WITH THE FULL DRACULA GETUP, MENACINGLY LEANING IN TO BITE HIM AS HE TAKES HIS "Paint me like one of your french girls" pose. Jess waking up from it not knowing whether he's scared or has just figured out a new kink for himself.
Jess dodging all of Rory's attempts to get him to stop wanting to see her by just coming in and asking her all of these questions while they're in the middle of the recess crowd in school. Rory giving up after the fourth attempt and answering all of his questions in a hushed tone.
Jess: So you can read people's minds?
Rory: Yes, except for yours. I still haven't figured out why though.
Jess: Huh, maybe Liz's all-round smoking diet during her pregnancy had its benefits after all.
Rory: Jess!!
I'm not sure whether I'd want Rory to be an older vampire like Edward or a more newly-made one, and in this case Lorelai is potentially still human but knows about Rory's condition despite Rory trying to keep her in the dark about it when she first turned. They still haven't found a way to break it to Richard and Emily though, despite their various brainstorming sessions over it.
Lorelai: We could get them drunk and just announce it to them!
Rory: Wonderful, and they'll accept their formerly estranged granddaughter as an undead creature.
Lorelai: Hey, you only asked how we should tell them, you never asked about how they'd handle it.
Jess just straight-up asking if she would eat the bullies in the high-school. Rory vehemently replying that no, she doesn't eat people, she just drinks the blood, but if he must know,......yes she drank from Chuck Presby once because she was angry and hungry and his blood almost tasted like Gatorade, so she's refrained from trying out the other bullies' blood. No, Chuck doesn't know what happened, he just thinks some girl went a bit too far with her hickey.
Jess and Rory talking to each other late at night and organizing a "studying" session where they just end up watching various B-movies, and sometimes Jess ends up falling asleep on the other side of the couch while Rory looks on at him and look, she's not being creepy here, she's just sitting on her side admiring this insane boy who still hasn't woken up one morning and decided that being friends with a vampire girl isn't in fact one of the smartest choices he could make in his life, and she can't help but like him because of that, ok? Also she really needs to hear more of his thoughts on some of the other American classics, it's imperative.
Rory ending up protecting Jess from an ongoing car that almost hits him instead of the whole "other vampire craves his blood" storyline but Jess ends up spraining his arm when he fell to the ground and Rory just feels guilty that she couldn't have saved him in a better way and tries to avoid him after that. Unfortunately she can't because this dumbass is walking along her trail in the nearby woods with his arm in a sling and goddamn it Jess, you're scaring away the deer!!
Yes. A thousand times yes. To all of this. The comedy. The pining. The Google search idea and elder Gilmore announcement. Yes to it all. But may I raise you some alternatives/more ideas:
In the books the sparkling looks more like the vampires are on fire. So when Rory reveals some skin in the sunlight, Jess is like «Shit, stop doing that do you have a death wish?!» and Rory just gives him a shit eating grin and waves her arm in and out of the sunlight. Also what if she doesn’t strip but takes of her sweater to reveal a t-shirt and Jess has a momentary heart attack thinking a vampire was about to flash him? All this being said the Claire’s silvery glitter scene is too good to replace ;-;
There just has to be a point while they’re close friends that Rory tries to impress/scare Jess by pulling him over her shoulders and carrying him while she speed runs. But when she tries to say something badass or seductive she has a brain fart and the only thing that comes out is: «Hold on tight... spidermonkey.» Jess doesn’t get to react before she runs, and when she’s finished the first thing he does is puke (apparently it’s hard to get used to that running according to SMeyer). Rory: «Oh no I’m so sorry I shouldn’t have done it, it was stupid and now you’re hurt and-»
Jess: «Spidermonkey???»
Rory: «oh, you’re fine.»
Jess: «SPIDERMONKEY????»
Rory: «I’ll just leave you here for the bears,» and walks away.
I’m not sure what her vampire origin story should be. It could be all the Gilmores are vampires and they bite each other at a certain age after procreating (and the eldest Lorelai decided to be an asshole and bite Rory early) or it could just be Rory like you said. In that case maybe Christopher became one and bit Rory because he wants her and Lorelai and him to be one big happy family of the night? But Lorelai refused and Rory protected her? Or maybe it was a stranger who passed by Stars Hollow?
Jess questions Rory’s humanity not after being saved by a car crash (pre friendship that is, I still think your idea should come in afterwards) but because he consistently skips school and on a sunny day («How can I lock myself in a stuffy dusty dark room on a day like this, uncle Luke?») he comes upon Rory hunting and eating a dear. That and/or she saves him from the swan. And because it’s Rory and she’s a clumsy new-born she saves him by speeding over and suckerpunching the swan so hard it does an action movie sweep miles into the forest.
Rory’s cover for sunny days in Stars Hollow is that she’s staying at Chilton longer for an assignment, or in the case of her still going to ST High it’s visiting their library for resources. Because she hates missing school, that cover is usually true, and she just refuses to go into any spot with sunlight:
Rory: «I have this skin condition, I have sun allergy»
Madeleine or Louise: «That’s not a thing is it»
Paris: «It is [starts infodumping]»
She usually locks herself in the darkest corner of the library and speeding away in a flash at closing time before anyone can spot her.
Rory has lost count of the amount of times Jess has dared her to drink from him. She refuses because she’s scared if hurting a friend:«What if I taste your blood and it’s so good I can’t stop? Like it tastes like heroin or ecstasy or coffee?» Jess usually counters with either «If you could resist Chuck Presby you can resist me» or «What makes you think I’d taste so good, huh?» Rory always ends up thinking she would have a blush right now if she was still human.
Jess wants to be a vampire too because hey what else does he have a chance at doing in life? But Rory refuses because she sees the potential in him and what he can be, and doesn’t want to take his chance at a good and normal life away from him. But at some point they get into a dangerous situation where Jess’ only options are death or vampyrism and Rory finally gives in. Also this is our AU and we get to decide which Twilight vampire-rules apply and in this AU vampires age mentally (it’s a bullshit excuse SMeyer and you know it).
This one depends on the origin but hey it’s an idea: While Rory was still a new new-born, her and Lorelai locked themselves up in the crap shack for a full week watching all the vampire movies they could in search of information that could help them. Rory decided to do empirical experiments too, and had garlic food, got a cross close to her, wore silver and stabbed her arm a wooden stake. The garlic food (like all food now sadly) tasted crap but didn’t kill her, nor did any of the rest. The wooden stake hurt but it healed fast.
Rory gets both Lorelai and Jess to order insane amounts of food just to watch them eat it because she misses the taste and needs to live vicariously through their tastebuds. In the AU where both Gilmore girls are vampires, they order so much food because they have no idea what the normal amount is (chaotic vampire Gilmores for the win).
Also I did not realize how well Bella and Edward’s powers fit Rory and Jess? Like of course Rory would be a mind reader and of course Jess’ thing would be an all-encompassing shield. Sometime when he’s still human and «bugging» Rory she poses the theory that maybe his head is just empty and doesn’t have any interesting ideas. Jess pretends to be hurt (okay he’s a little hurt but he’d never tell her that) and Rory immediately falls into apologetic mode.
Rory wants to go to prom because it’s a human teenage activity she refuses to miss before starts figuring out what to make out of her vampire life. Jess isn’t hyped for it but promises to get tickets. They end up both going as vampires because that altercation happens a week or so before. Jess struggles with not eating everyone in sight but he sticks close to Rory and they leave without a single drop of blood on their hands.
Also Luke as Charlie! Paying attention to the beat attacks and being the only one who noticed that Rory doesn’t actually eat the food on her plate anymore (her mom eats her own plate then switches it with Rory’s) and when Rory and Jess reveal the secret he momentarily closes down and has to take a fishing trip to process everything. But he comes back a ride or die wanting to protect the poor kids.
I also feel like there should be multiple moments where one is insanely attracted to the other and questions this attraction strongly. Like Rory crushing on Jess and wondering if it’s bloodthirst or just the last remains of her human teenage hormones. And Jess being full on into Rory while still acknowledging the fact that it could be some vampire seduction powers, but what the hell does he care? There’s a cute undead bookworm right there and if he has to go he doesn’t mind dying to be a pretty girl’s lunch meal.

How do you think the Dbd killers would react if they were aiming for someone else (like another survivor) but the survivor moved out of the way and they hit their s/o instead so they're s/o was the one that got injured? (if it's too many characters to write for then please let me know and I'll only pick a few)
.oh hoho, it’s angst night is it not?
read more because FUCK is this long
Trapper
- Damn survivors are too squirrelly to hit straight. He was lucky if her even managed to hit one of them in a match by catching them off guard. And this time he thought he had, and he swung after them, but they moved at the wrong god damn time. They looked back bug eyed, and ran. Not injured and yet, he still had hit something.
- You limped away, begging “Evan, please.” He felt bad about it, he tried his best to avoid hitting you for as long as possible, but he would if it came down to you being the last survivor. However, it was only the beginning of the match, and your friend had bolted in the opposite direction.
- He swings again, toppling you over, before picking you up. You’re crying, and screaming, which is pretty normal. Honestly, you act like a brat whenever he does this, because you always think he’s going to hook you. He goes down into the basement, and instead of doing anything, he waits until to wriggle out of his arms, before leaving. You peak around the basement and find that someone left a first aid kit down there.
Wraith
- It’s impossible to tell where where the Wraith is ever going to be, so when you hear his bell clanging, you run. Your run as fast as you can out of the immediate area. You and the survivor you were working on a generator with split up, but you trip. And get hit in the arm, to add insult to injury.
- Phillip immediately drops everything and picks you up, making sure you’re okay, and not too injured to keep on going. He had to kill you, but it’s not like he enjoyed it. He made sure to be careful with you, to minimize your pain. He tears off pieces of cloth, and ties them around your ankle, and the gash on your arm.
- He makes sure you’re able to stand on your feet, and walk on your own without limping. He even walks you to the nearest generator, like a gentleman, before cloaking and leaving to chase down the next survivor he finds.
Hillbilly
- Max tried to be gentle with you as possible. After you two got together, he refused to use the chainsaw on you. The thought of hurting the one person who genuinely cared about scared him greatly. He only hits you hard enough with his hammer to make him stumble, or knock you down, and hangs you by your clothing on the hooks.
- However, he does not show this same mercy to any of the other survivors. In fact, he loves chasing them down with his chainsaw, and hearing their bloodcurdling screams. He has no reason to care about any of them. When he was chasing one of then down through the cornfield, he didn’t realized they had diverged to the left, and instead, he hits you.
- He panics, of course. What else is he supposed to do? He picks you up, jostling you around roughly, and lays you outside of the cornfield. He tries, and fails, to make you feel any better, so he just runs away to go chase down some other survivor, leaving you for someone else to come help up. Outside of the match, he doesn’t let you go, and babbling nonsense that you think are apologies.
Nurse
- Outside of matches, Sally is soft and kind, like she was in life before going insane. She can’t talk, but you know she’s sweet on you, and would never dare of laying a single finger on you without your explicit permission. In matches, she is brutal and twisted, and shows no mercy to anyone, least of all you. However, she regrets hurting you, and makes it up to you outside of matches.
- She had knocked you and another survivor over, and had forgotten about both of you while she chased down someone else. The two of you had met up, and were trying to help each other up, but, well... You know what they say about the blind leading the blind. Sally finds the both of you, and lunges, aiming for the other survivor.
- You push them out of the way, and instead, her hands latch onto you, choking the life out of you, before snapping your neck. When the match is over, and you find her inside of the remains of Crotus Penn asylum, she hugs you so hard you can barely breath. You swear you can hear her crying as she buries her mask covered face into your neck. Once she finally lets go, you hug her again, and tell her you don’t hold it against her. This time, you can see the tears soaking through her mask.
Michael
- Michael was an interesting man to be in a relationship with, if you could even call it that. You knew from the bits and pieces of journals you’ve found that Michael it a killer, through and through, no sense of right or wrong, and yet, he spares you. Even lets you hang around him, and touches you strictly on his terms. He knows killing you outside of matches means you’d be gone for good, so relents then.
- Inside matches, he holds no qualms about killing you, but he always saves you for last, and stands and watches to the last moment as the entity takes your corpse away. You and another survivor had been hiding in the same upstairs room, so he couldn’t become more powerful while he prowled around. All of a sudden, he turned the corner, and stabbed the closest person, which happened to be you.
- The other survivor slips out and runs while they can, leaving you behind. You really can’t complain much, you would have done the same. You were pinned to the wall by his knife, and as soon as he removes it, you collapse to the floor. He stares at you while wiping the blood off of his knife. Instead of doing anything, he jumps out of the window, and chases down the survivor that slipped away.
Hag
- Lisa like to play cat and mouse with you outside of matches. She likes the games, and chasing you down, and tackling you to the ground. But she would never dare hurt you, and is almost afraid of touching you when you aren’t playing, or in matches. Like you’re this perfect thing that she’s afraid of sullying. She teaches you protective charms that she likes to think help keep you safe, and styles your hair with mud to keep the bugs out of it.
- She’s no different inside of matches, it’s still a game to her, with you at least. She’ll tackle you, and tell you to stay down before bopping her head against yours and leaving. She always loses matches, because she can never bring herself to putting you up on the hook. Even if you’re the last person left, she always let you escape.
- She lunged to get a different survivor, but they moved out of the way at the last God damned second, and she ended up hitting you instead. She cried, screaming, and chases down the survivor the moved out of the way, and kills them as retribution. She can’t face you for the rest of the match, and as usual, lets you leave.
- When you two meet up outside of the match, she immediately strips you down, and checks where she hit you, and upon not even finding a single scar, she is instantly relieved. She doesn’t play with you today, and instead sits with you, and holds your hand.
Herman
- Being hurt or injured around Herman was an inescapable fate. Sometimes, he’d slowly drive you insane, and would hold you until you got better. Other times, he would accidentally zap you, ranging from static to electricity. But he never means any of it, and you know it. It makes for an interesting scenario at the campsite when the other survivors ask why you keep screaming.
- The cramped hallways of Lery Memorial Institutes causes some incidents, however. He never hits with his stick, but instead expects you to willingly let him put you up on the hook. It depends on your mood whether you indulge him or not. When he drives you insane, you don’t get much of a choice. This time, he was aiming at someone else, but they hopped through a window, and you came running up, earning you a smack in the face, knocking you to the ground.
- He carefully picks you up, and hangs you up on the nearest hook, and leaves. When you meet up after the match, he lets you sit in his armchair, and makes you tea as an apology, and bumps his head against your, since he can’t exactly kiss you properly.
Huntress
- Anna can be a little bit more than rough with you, but that’s just in her nature. She squeezes you too hard during hugs and when she snuggles with you, and tugs you around her home by your arm like you’re a doll. But she would never dare harm you with her weapons. You were the first person who didn’t die, or leave her, so she was going to cherish you with every fiber of her being.
- Her aim, however, is something to be desired. She was aiming through the brush and trees to catch some unlucky survivor with her hatchet, but she didn’t realize that you were following closely behind them, and were knocked down by the hatchet. When she came to collect her prey, and she realized it was you she hit, she screamed, and carried you back off to the cabin, where she left you on the table why she went and slaughtered the other survivors.
- She carried you off to the exit once the rest had either escaped, or were taken care of, and let you escape. Outside of the match, she waited for you eagerly near one of the exits, and scooped you up into her arms, and carried you back to her cabin, where she tended to every single scratch and bruise you had before demanding apology cuddles.
Leatherface
- Bubba is an interesting character, and you find yourself having to wade into the dark to find him, and usually you have to find another killer’s domain when you want to spend any time together, usually Coldwind Farm, since it seems him and the Hillbilly have a sort of truce. And my, is Bubba an absolute gentleman. He doesn’t touch you with explicit permission, lest of all harming a single hair on his head. You’re the only thing he has left, since his family didn’t follow him here, and he treasures you.
- In matches, he still doesn’t hurt you, in fact, he cherishes any time he gets to spend with you, leaving him to be sidetracked. Even forgetting about all the other survivors when he finds you. He had been charging down some other survivor, but ran into a wall, and sufficed to say he threw a bit of a temper tantrum, in the process hitting you. When he realized what he had done, he started blubbering and held you in his arms (even though you were fine, and could still walk).
- He walks you over to the closest survivor he can find, and begs them to make you better (both of you have to stop from snickering at the ridiculous situation), and as soon as you are better, he hugs you and begs for your forgiveness. As soon as you say you do, he kisses your face over and over. Keep this boy happy, he’s a baby.
Freddy Kruger
- Freddy on the other hand? He may find you fun to play with, but in the end he doesn’t care about you. Or so he acts. He likes to leave little scratched on you outside of matches, marks that claimed you as his. And he loved torment you in matches, teasing you, hitting you but not quite killing you. It was all one great game.
- But you knew that, and it was like a game to you, because you knew exactly how to push Freddy’s buttons, and get him riled up. He swore to never kill you outside of matches when you got him going, and he kept up on that promise, no matter how much he wanted to slice your throat for calling him “kiddie strangler”. He rarely even attacked you because of taunting in matches.
- This time, you were working on a generator with another survivor, unaware of his presence, calling him a hot slice of beef jerky. Then the survivor called him kiddie strangler too, and it was all over from there. He goes to swipe at the other survivor, but they notice, and roll out of the way, and you get a chest full of claws instead. He shakes his head, says something about being too slow, and hangs you up in the basement. Just another day for the two of you.
sorry, I’m not familiar enough with amanda to write her yet.
