i adore svsss so i feel like it's my duty to persuade you. here's why you (specifically) should read svsss:

shen yuan doesn't have to memorize anything. he just is Like that. like he knows everything already because he's weird and a dedicated hater and i respect it

i think saying that shen yuan tried to fix the story is technically true, but also a touch misleading. he tries to not get his limbs ripped off, and that is his motivation through like, the entire novel. i mean he is very much exceedingly Normal about binghe so he does do his best to make his life better... but it's really just so he is in his good graces so that he doesn't get his LIMBS RIPPED OFF. LMFAO. it isn't until the end, when the story is SOOO far off the original that his motivations really shift, and at that point there is absolutely zero fixing he can do because it's so off base

the isekai is there, obviously, but imo it really isn't the most interesting part about it. shen yuan doesn't see the world as something he can fuck around with and change, he sees it as immovable. unchangeable, stuck to the narrative. also his fun little back and forth between "i hate this fucking place. this novel sucks" and "omg binghe's <333 i love it here" is HILARIOUS to me

the svsss fandom has the best ships and i STAND by that. no one gives a shit whether two characters have never interacted in any postive way, they must smash their faces together regardless. i say this as the number one tianliu fan--two characters who literally like, hate each other in canon.
