Genshin Impact Character Constellations Meanings

(I am by no means an expert, this is something I did for fun, I tried to be as accurate as I could but if there’s anything wrong feel free to tell me)

Albedo

Albedo's constellation Princeps Cretaceus means "Chalk Prince" which is well, his title, which is a reference to the (highly possible) fact that Albedo is a homunculus, an artificial human being created from chalk

Amber

Amber's connstellation Lepus is pretty straightforward, it simply means "Rabbit" and goes along with her rabbit theme

Ayaka

Ayaka's constellation Grus Nivis means "Snow Crane"

Barbara

Barbara's constellation Crater means "Bowl", in specific, a large bowl used to mix wine

Beidou

Beidou's constellation Victor Mare means "Conqueror of the Sea", a fitting name for our Uncrowned Lord of the Ocean

Bennett

Bennett's constellation Rota Calamitas means "Calamity Wheel", which is, well, due to his bad luck (my poor little bean :'/ )

Chongyun

Chongyun's constellation Nubis Caesor means “Cloud Cutter”

Diluc

Diluc's Noctua means "Night Owl"

Diona

Diona’s Feles just means ... “Cat”

Eula

Eula’s Aphros Delos is... kinda complicated...so anyways, Aphros means “Sea Foam” and was the name of an ichthyocentaur in greek mythology, while Delos is the name of greek island where Artemis and Apollo were supposedly born (probably a reference to Eula’s nobility I guess)

Fischl

Fischl’s Corvus simply means “Raven”

Ganyu

Ganyu’s Sinae Unicornis simply means “Chinese Unicorn”, a term often used by people to refer to the Qilin of the chinese mythology, Ganyu’s species in-game

Hu Tao

Hu Tao’s Papilio Charontis means “The Butterfly of Charon”. Charon was, in greek mythology, the ferryman for souls to the underworld. Quite fitting for Hu Tao if I say so.

Jean

Jean’s Leo Minor means “Small Lion”, going along with her title of Lionfang Knight. (I’m honestly upset that Jean is the only character with an animal constellation that doesn´t have neither an animal companion or an animal based attack, we were robbed, that’s what I’m saying)

Kaeya

Kaeya’s Pavo Ocellus means “Peacock Eye”, eye as in the eyes in their tail. But hey, maybe that’s what is under the eyepatch, the eye of a peacock... just kidding... unless-

Kazuha

 Kazuha’s constellation, Acer Palmatum, is the name of a tree species native to Japan, South Korea and China.

Keqing

Keqing’s Trulla Cementarii, is most likely refering to “Trowel”, since Trulla refers to a ladle or scoop and Cementarii refers to a mason

Klee

Klee’s Trifolium means “Clover”, I mean it IS her motif

Lisa

Lisa’s constellation Tempus Fugit means “Time Flies”, yet another reminder of how little time left she has...

Mona

Mona's Astrolabos, means "Astrolabe", an instrument that was used to make astronomical measurements

Ningguang

Ningguang’s Opus Aequilibrium means “Work Balance”... okay, that checks out

Noelle

Noelle’s Parma Cordis means “Shield of the Heart”

Qiqi

Qiqi’s Pristina Nola means “Traditional Bell”

Raiden Shogun

Raiden’s Imperatrix Umbrosa means “The Shadowy Empress”, a reference to her being her twin’s kagemusha, or shadow warrior

Razor

Razor’s Lupus Minor means “Small Wolf”

Rosaria

Rosaria’s Spinea Corona means “Crown of Thorns”

Sara

Sara’s Flabellum means “Fan”

Sayu

Sayu’s Nyctereutes Minor literally means “Small Nyctereutes”, however I’m pretty sure they’re only really talking about one type of nyctereutes, in which case it would be “Small Tanuki”, it fits Sayu way more.

Sucrose

Sucrose's Ampulla means "Bottle"

Tartaglia

Tartaglia's Monoceros Caeli means "Narwhal of the Sky"

Lumine / Aether

Guess what... Lumine’s Viatrix and Aether’s Viator both mean... Traveler... yea that’s it...

Venti

Venti’s Carmen Dei means “Song God”

Xiangling

Xiangling’s Trulla means “Ladle”

Xiao

Xiao’s Alatus Nemeseos means “Winged Nemesis”, Nemesis being, in greek mythology, the goddess of divine retribution

Xingqiu

Xingqiu’s Fabulae Textile means “Woven Tales”

Xinyan

Xinyan’s Fila Ignium means “Strings of Fire”

Yanfei

Yanfei's Bestia Iustitia means "The Beast of Justice"

Yoimiya

Yoimiya’s Carassius Auratus is the name of a species of fish

Purple electricity sparked from her blade , singing a song as it hopped over the heated metal and into the ground . Cocky sneer in place , booted feet carried her forward with a sway of her hips . The carnage of fire reflected in her single hue , approaching the camp of hilichurls and other beings of the abyss , already half destroyed by a fellow claymore user .

“     Don’t mind me joining the party !    “   Rushing forward , the Captain joined him in battle , and with a few sweeps of her blade and charging her blade into the ground , the electro conducted through the ground and shocking their enemies around them , a shield surrounding the man to spare him from her own attack .

The bandit that has been causing grief throughout the land was being guided off of her ship , bound and tied by her men . Of course , there were better ways to go  about apprehending him , but she believed her method was more effective and less time consuming — and for a woman such as herself , time meant money .

Crossing her arms over her chest , the Captain gave a small click of her tongue .         “     Don’t worry your pretty little head , I only caused enough trouble to get the job done . And , as a bonus  on my end, already dealt with the matter .    “     Amusement laced her voice , and while she speaks so casually , still possessed a naturally commanding lilt , such as her character and not out of sheer disrespect to the woman before her .

𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗜𝗟𝗦 : Aether looked out of the ship deck and marveled at the horizon just up ahead, still not at all used to the view. He wasn't one to travel by the sea (after all, why sail when one was gifted the ability to soar through the skies?) and so the novelty of it still hasn't worn out. The sea has and always will be her home . Only the ocean can control her , but even then , she did not bow her head but only forged on . The definition of a free spirit , though that has proven to be quite troublesome for many people . 

Hands poised at her hips , she watched the waves which carried the Crux across its vast and endless waters . Her singular eye focused on the horizon , and only when she was satisfied that the coast was clear — both from bad weather and possible obstacles — did she turn her attention to the young traveler . 

At his words , she threw her head back in a boisterous laugh ; Beidou was a loud and rowdy individual , and she was unabashed to present her strong - headed nature .     “      Did you think I’d let you stand around ? As long as you’re on my ship , you are part of my crew . If I can put you to work , then I absolutely will .     “     Clapping a hand on his back , with a little more force than intended , she gave another cackle .

“      Meet me in the crow’s nest , I think I’ve got the job for you ,    “     she instructed , pointing a finger up one of the tall , wooden mast where the look out point can be found . Grabbing the rope , she tugged on it and handed it to Aether before she climbed her way up herself .
