The first Yuzu disappears from sight.

ooc ; when I was first playing around with Yuzu and her relationships with the Yiga, originally, she was going to be Sooga's granddaughter since her main timeline is during ToTK, but you know what? She's Sooga's adoptive sister now. Because I run both her and a Sooga blog and they're my canon, my rules. Sibling vibes. Protective baby sister Yuzu and her massive Big Brother, Sooga.

She stopped stirring the curry she'd been working on when she heard that voice. That voice often calmed her. That voice was soft and friendly, it was the voice of a family member. She was still quite small, even older now, Yuzu stepped down from the stool she'd been standing on to reach the stove and turned towards the redhead. "Ah, Ichi-nii never said anything to me, he might just be busy." She hadn't an honest clue as to why he'd avoid Orihime. "But if you're lonely, you're welcome to hang out with me. I'm making curry for dinner and would love for you to try some."

There's such a surreal divide in my mind: to this day, I'm STILL ambivalent on Etoile's design, and I still find issues with it when I put it critically. But dangit every time I see fanart of her I just melt in happiness. I dunno if I'm a critical idiot or if my ambivalence was caused by the card art itself.

For funsies, a bit about Yuzu's biological family

Maternal Grandmother ; Kaede. Daughter of a Sheikah woman who joined the Yiga shortly after the Calamity; Kaede was born among the Yiga and was a medic for them for several years before she died of natural causes in her late sixties.

Maternal Grandfather ; Daiki. Yiga foot soldier, killed in action when sent to search for the missing Hero forty years ago.

Paternal Grandmother ; Anzu. Living in Kakariko. She is a Sheikah woman, retired from running the inn, which was taken over by another family after her retirement. She does not know about Yuzu and Yuzu does not know about her.

Paternal Grandfather ; Kanta. Sheikah born, took his newborn son Sota from his mother about 30 years ago, after many years of arguing with his wife about their differing beliefs. He died in service of the Yiga when Yuzu was three.

Mother ; Momoka. Yiga spy-master in service to the clan for 20 years before her marriage to Sota and the birth of their daughter, Yuzu. She left her daughter to join her husband in the Depths as a researcher two years ago.

Father ; Sota. Yiga Blade Master. Though born a Sheikah, he was only an infant when his father stole him away to join the Yiga. He fell in love with Momoka while on a mission with her. He went down to the Depths in search of Master Kohga five years ago and became one of the many researchers there.

Yuzu would have made a comment about him calling her short, but she didn't have time to. She was too concerned when she saw him holding his arm and wondered had something happened? She recalled Ichigo making a promise to her when she was younger that he wouldn't put his life in danger anymore in big fights, but she'd forgive him for fighting again, so long as he came home alive. Most kids would call her brother a yankee, a hoodlum, a troublemaker, but Yuzu always knew Ichi-nii as a protector, a guard, a defender. She had a feeling he wasn't looking for trouble, but it had found him rather instead. She wouldn't tell their dad, she didn't want him to get scolded.

Ignoring the comment about being short for the rest of her life, Yuzu dragged a chair over to the freezer and fished out an ice pack. Whatever had happened to his arm seemed to be hurting.

"Ichi-nii, did something happen again?" She asked as she handed over the ice pack.
