Something I adore about this saga is how the songs all end with such powerful and forceful singing. It almost feels like Odysseus is trying to drown out the screams he hears by being louder with his own pain and convictions

For anyone who hasn't seen them before, Hidden Search Operators are handy tricks you can use when you're either searching or filtering AO3.

summary: string is a generic way of explaining that you can search AO3 for a specific word that appears in a summary. You can do this from the search bar in the header, from the Any Field box at the top of the Advanced Search form, or from the Search Within Results box at the bottom of the filter menu.

Examples:

summary: Bruce

summary: "Bruce Banner"

summary: Bruce OR summary: Banner OR summary: Hulk

You need to put quotation marks around your search term if it is more than one word. The quotes make sure that the site searches for those two words together.

The other two operators listed work best in the Search Within Results box.

expected_number_of_chapters: 1 will return results where every fic has only 1 chapter currently posted.

You can use expected_number_of_chapters: -1 if you want results where every fic has more than 1 chapter currently posted.

otp:true will return results where there is only 1 relationship tag on the fic. If you want results where there are 2+ relationship tags (and no fics with only 1 relationship tag) then you can use otp:false

I kinda want a scene similar to the one in Run With the Wind (the one where Kakeru almost punches his former teammate but Chikusei-so squad step in) in WIND BREAKER.

Like, maybe someone from Sakura's past goes to Makochi and insults the fam while they're out on patrol and Sakura almost loses it but gets stopped and protected by the Furin squad? Like in a 'Sakura is not alone and never will be alone again' kind of way.

OR

Someone steps in to defend Sakura (I kinda want it to be Nirei — like the others are about to go but it's Nirei who makes the first move because 'You don't know how far Sakura-san has come how dare you come back to hurt him') but Sakura is the one to stop him, and is like "Your strength isn't worth wasting on someone that doesn't even matter."

In any case, I just want someone from Sakura's past to show up at least once, so we can see how Sakura would approach them now that he has people who love and support him🙏

gintoki really is one of my favorite characters of all time. he seems at first glance to be a ridiculous and whimsical person until we slowly uncover the horrors he endured in his past. with what he’s been through he has every right to hate the world and everyone in it. he could easily have taken the same path as takasugi and destroyed everything. but his experiences didn’t turn him into a beast, he remained kind. too kind for his own good sometimes. most of the ridiculous situations he ends up in happen because he just can’t turn his back on someone who needs his help. he’s simultaneously the funniest and most melancholic person and these two aspects of his character being interwoven to create the hilarious, exciting, intense, joyful, tragic narrative we see is the true genius of gintama
