dnd is soooo fun so like okay. created this character off the top of my head 5min before the first session. human rogue, chronically opportunistic, chronically Just Some Guy, so unremarkable (and good at using it to slip under the radar) that rolling to be normal has been entitled a stanley check, stanley is not his real name. a few months later i start watching black sails. due to the . latent similarities . stanley very quickly gets a hell of a lot like silver. anyway, this dnd party acquires a haunted ship with a skeleton crew but never spends any fucking time at sea which annoys me SOOOOO BAD bc the autism beast is haunting me but im being chill abt it. This session we actually set sail. due to convoluted dnd circumstances we end up with a plan to capture a merchant sloop and ditch the ghost ship at which point my autistic ass starts going Pirate Mode cause nobody else in the party is making decisions so stanley starts telling the skeletons to tack hard to port, head south-west and set a course for whereverthefuck im doing SHIP JARGON im having fun with SHIP JARGON. so then people start picking their positions on the ship. im assuming konrad is gonna be captain bc hes the necromancer who can actually control the crew so he was captain of the last ship and he immediately called dibs on the captains quarters so i say "well i guess ill be quartermaster :)" bc its all just falling soooo nicely into place. and then. the other players go Hold on. This whole operation was your idea. also you know which side is starboard. and they fucking elect stanley as captain.

Water (pure H2O) is not inherently wet. HOWEVER, due to the intermolecular forces (specifically the hydrogen bonding) between water molecules, it’s effectively impossible to have a single molecule of water. Thus, any given water molecule is constantly in contact with other water molecules and is therefore constantly wet. So, theoretically, if you could get exactly one water molecule, then it would not be wet. But that’s really impracticable (I’m sure it’s been done at least once in a lab, but that’s because Nerds) and so practically, in everyday life, yes, water is wet.

Who was Odd's previous employer?

Ah. This question. It's Teufel, by the way. It's still a bit of a sensitive subject for Odd, so they're leaving it to me. So, as talented as he is, Odd's still pretty new to the villain scene. The man's only around nineteen-ish. And getting started as a villain isn't as easy as you'd think, no. You either need some big, terrible event to happen, a stroke of luck, or for an already established villain to take you in. For Odd, their method was the latter. Tales of his inventions and experiments reached this big, villainous mastermind, who thought the young inventor could be a valuable asset. Odd was only about eighteen at the time, and fresh out of school. He was approached by this villain, and offered a job. They took it, because to him, it sounded perfect. And it was perfect, for a while. Odd had funding, materials, and a competent lab partner. That's actually how Odd and Sinister met, actually! Anyways, for a while it was good. Until his employer's true colours started shining through.

Every supervillain tends to fantasize, or even attempt world domination. This villain wanted something else entirely. To enslave the entire world. And he wanted Odd to be the one to set this into motion. He started to force Odd to stray further and further from their morals, punishing him for the smallest mistakes, depriving them of sleep, and preventing him from working on anything other than this mind-control device.

The villain would even exploit Odd's fears and insecurities, forcing him into being and doing something he didn't want. Honestly, if you ever see Odd nowadays, you'd never be able to distinguish the bright, energetic young scientist from the dull, exhausted young man he was a mere year ago.

Anyways, long story short, after Sinister's invention failed, it created an opening for Odd to escape. After that, he managed to run into his now-nemesis, and take down the villain. Despite the somewhat happy end, it was still a terrible and traumatizing experience for them. I don't even know the full story. Sinister knows more than I do, but I'm not sure if she'd be willing to share...

that article going around abt firefox's new ad program is annoying bc it's phrased as though "mozilla has finally TURNED on its people and is SELLING YOU OUT for cold hard cash!!" when. that's not what's happening. it is specifically being implemented to discourage tracking behavior, and literally all the data they are giving to advertisers is aggregate and anonymized, which is like, the opposite of what that post wants you to worry about, lol
