I decided to rewatch Buffy's 'Once More With Feeling' and then the very end of 'Smashed' and I'm gonna say it: Buffy & Spike's first kiss and sex scene still work incredibly well. His absolutely gone look, the way she's shocked at herself and then clearly into it, both times. Her leading both times. The snarking/violence as foreplay. Whatever their relationship became in season 6, it sure started off exactly as I would have imagined it given all that had come before.

i would love to hear more of your Dooley thoughts if you have some to spare
AHHH THANK U I HAV QUITE A BIT!!!
ok so i will start w my initial HC that started the week i started watching nothing but An Erotic Life...
Basically I tapped into the bit about Sinbad stealing Dennis' book because he liked it so much (like Charlie did) and was like "what if that wasn't coincidence... What if Sinbad and Rob Thomas were sort of a manifestation of Dennis' suppressed memories from around the time before he lost his memoirs (in high school)" and then at the end Charlie talks about how he loves Sinbad so I took that as an omen I had to dig deeper into this idea KJNFKGDNF (and will disclaim I am not saying this is what rcg INTENDED lol...)
(tw for discussion of suicide ahead)
So I've gone back and forth with the Charlie / Sinbad correlation, but the reason I clung onto the idea specifically of Rob Thomas as Dooley is because of context...At the end of the deleted scene where Rob helps Dennis escape from rehab he kills himself... The LAST thing we heard about Dooley in the season prior was that Dooley was majorly depressed and killed himself... So I was like "what if that was NOT just pure coincidence..." and based my HC off that...
So that's where I'm coming from with my interpretation of who Dooley is, since we really don't get any insight into who he is outside of that... (I know Dooley is probs just an rcg in-joke/friend reference and not that serious..)
I think that initially Dooley was the first person outside of his enmeshment with Charlie and Mac who Dennis could talk to and kind of trust. We know Dennis wasn't necessarily involved w the Freight Train like mac nd charlie, but we do know Dennis was friends with Dooley. I also think Dooley knew a lot more than Dennis did about some of the worst aspects of both Mac and Charlie bc of his involvement w the Freight Train... Whether he felt like he could explicitly share those things with Dennis, I'm not so sure. But we know Dennis finds out later lmao... But I think he tried to help Dennis and guide him a little bit.
I also kind of imagine Dooley becoming insanely attached to Dennis as this sort of like image of who Dooley was before joining the Freight Train... kind of naive and not as broken down yet. So, again, they were kind of the original "Soulmates of Pain". in my mind..the outsiders who are still apart of this group...
I imagine Dooley being overly affectionate/aggressive towards Dennis LMAO...putting dennis in a headlock (lovingly) every time he sees Den...
But I think Dennis feels jealous of Dooley sometimes... Because he "got out" before Dennis, when he is loathing the gang... Every time Dennis sees an open window he thinks of Dooley

alright y'all I've recovered enough from vol 2 that I can now articulate my thoughts somewhat. here we go! I really want season 5 immediately but unfortunately cannot have that :( I will say that I think Stranger Things' episode Nines are just,,,, amazing. nothing so far has come close to my love for s2e9 except for s4e9. I think they're tied
ngl I was mildly concerned they were going to attempt some kind of redemption with Brenner so I was pleasantly excited when he continued to be as evil as he ever was :) El finally standing up to him and realizing she's not the monster, he is, was AMAZING and I loved how she just said bye and walked away. left him to die on his own as he deserved! Owens is still a shady guy but he's always on the gang's side (I'm just curious what happened to him? like did Sullivan have him killed? arrested? will we see him next season? I'm nearly certain we'll see Sullivan again because I don't think that subplot will be so easily resolved)
as for the rest of it, Eddie's death panned out pretty much exactly how I thought it would so I never let myself get too attached to him. what got me was Dustin's reaction! Gaten did so amazingly in that scene wow. Jason also died which was great for me because he was just insane at that point and while I kinda felt for him he was also annoying. sorry not sorry
Jopper finally getting together was lovely. I've never been overly invested in them bc they are so canon in my mind that I never doubted it would happen but it was great nonetheless. Hopper reuniting with El had me smiling so hard at the end bc for a sec I genuinely thought it was Sullivan coming to kidnap El and that was how the season would end and then it was just good ol' Hop :) El having a family like she deserves is my favourite thing!! Hopper and Mike also hugging caught me off guard bc I didn't think they'd do it but they did and I hope that leads to them having a better relationship!
now El getting picked up in the desert and blowing up that helicopter? TOP. TIER. I had my arms up cheering "HERE COME THE PIZZA BOYS!!!!!!!" and when you could see Mike getting out of the van being the first one to run to her, all in slow motion, my god. I was speechless. their whole reunion was gorgeous. El's disbelief, the forehead touch: chefs kiss. El hugging Will like that? best. I live for El having a family. El's brothers ftw
Mike's long-awaited monologue: WHAT. I was shaking and on the edge of my seat the whole scene. It will absolutely live in my head rent free for the rest of all time. I can barely even process it. He really said he's loved her since the moment he saw her I can't believe it. It's what I've been waiting for since I was 16 years old and it still feels surreal that he really told her all of that in words. Mike Wheeler, King of Not Talking About Any Of His Feelings Ever, really said all of that. Wow. Finn knocked that completely out of the park
Lastly, Max's death? HOLY SHIT. That one tore me up I was sobbing and yelling at my tv. I really love Max and didn't want her to die even though I had a feeling something else was still going to happen to her. THE FACT THAT THEY USED THE SONG FROM FINDING WILL'S BODY IN S1- JAIL FOR 1000 YEARS. Her dying in Lucas' arms and his reaction really got me. Both Caleb and Sadie did phenomenal work this season and made me love Lumax a lot more than I did before. Lumax OUTSOLD!!!! Max's little drawing and the fact that they won't get to go on their date and the way Lucas was sitting in the hospital with his beat up face reading her a book... I'm in shambles
El being there watching it happen while no one knew she was there was also heartbreaking
Mildly concerning that El couldn't find Max's mind in the void though, even if she is in a coma. El can find and even vaguely communicate with Terry who is in a vegetative state, so I'm not sure what I think will happen with Max next season. Guess we'll have to wait and see!
That ending too. Vecna's not dead obviously and Hawkins is... yikes. The cliffhanger makes it seem like season 5 will pick up where 4 leaves off and I am very excited to have a resolution!
This isn't even all I could say but I don't want this post to get super long so I'm just touching on the stuff that stuck with me

If you could make a playlist about Frock, what songs would you put on it?
I am VERY LATE and I am sorry my playlist is here if you want -> https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6lwRwjgNuiSEHVSHS8u4kK?si=b80d09ba871f4dda BUT just for u anon i'm going to pick 10 frock songs from there because OOF i have way too many songs in this playlist and maybe some of them are a bit too ooc/specific SO 10 frock songs that I personally think fits them best (/!\ Warning for explicit songs /!\) : 1. Bitchboy - the oozes : this one I HAVE TO PUT IT idc it's an explicit one but it has it all the crazy weird lyrics the punk rock the CAT the unnecessary swearing the GODDAMN PINK CAT ON THE COVER 10/10
2. Hate me (sometimes) - stand Atlantic : I like the edgy tones here so I pick it for the way frock had a bit of toxicity and relationship difficulties at first, then slowly worked it out. Could fit both? but I think frown mostly
3. Sorry bro (I love you) - Dorian Electra : an excellent pick I may say this is just a mood, a mood and a queer mood. Fits for both brock and frown.
4. Spoiled little brat - Underscores : big big favorites for this one and the next, I should just quote the lyrics no elaboration needed bc it's them, also the amazing mix of electro punk/rock is all I need for their aesthetic. Frown's theme tbh (Yeah I live for the attention I got a problem and it's not my fault Why would I pay it any mind? I'm a pop-star baby, pop-star baby All I wanted was a mention But yeah I guess I must have pissed you off)
5. your favorite sidekick - underscores : same as before, more chill so Brock's theme. The fact both songs are meant to complement each other ugh i live for this.
6. Nothing - Bruno major : So hard to find Brock songs but this one represents him best to me from lyric to melody to vocals, it's a top one. He likes corny af songs and would sing this. (Track suits and red wine Movies for two We'll take off our phones And we'll turn off our shoes We'll play Nintendo Though I always lose 'Cause you'll watch the TV While I'm watching you)
7. The only exception - Paramore : not me hearing this song since middle school and never being as much into it and now suddenly I'm overly invested. A fit for frown post season 3 finale AND although this song was meant to describe romantic love it's really vague enough to talk about love in general or feelings of attachment to others and i like this interpretation. (Maybe I know somewhere deep in my soul That love never lasts And we've got to find other ways to make it alone Or keep a straight face And I've always lived like this Keeping a comfortable distance And up until now I had sworn to myself That I'm content with loneliness Because none of it was ever worth the risk
But you are the only exception)
8. Drops of jupiter - train : I've loved this song for a reaaally long time so it might be a bit ooc but tbh this is just a pure, corny love declaration from someone loyal and pininggggg so Brock song yes (Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken Your best friend always sticking up for you Even when I know you're wrong? Can you imagine no first dance Freeze-dried romance Five-hour phone conversation The best soy latte that you ever had And me?)
9. Best friend - laufey : that part about making fun of the other and laughing so much and then that part about getting mad with them but at the same time life would just be boring without them right???? I mean..... yeAH. A fit for both and pLEASE LOOK AT THESE LYRICS (When we're ninety-eight and ninety-nine (ninety-nine) Tumbling down the stairs You'll barely catch me in time (tumbling down) We'll argue about what to watch on TV Finally pick a movie, then we'll fall asleep (asleep) We'll still be a little bit strange Some things never change
It's funny 'cause you drive me half insane A universe without you would be thoroughly mundane There's no one else I'd rather fall in love with And that is my best friend in the world
You're my best friend in the world)
10. You're My Best Friend - Queen : The ultimate song. Queen? Platonic love? iconic queer artist? This is like the real-life equivalent of the Best Best Friends song from the show. I wouldn't be surprised if they actually took this as inspiration for the song lmfao
bc I'm extra i'll just put in some bonus :
Anyone Else But You - Moldy Peaches My Dumb Heart - Jack Stauber (it's not in my playlist bc spotify doesn't have it) Thanks, I Hate It - Simple Creatures
Congrats for making it to the end of this ask! <3

Hi, I really trust your taste (u introduced me to btvs/bojack/killing eve) but I'm still not sold on glow :/ could u make a top 5 reasons to watch? Just so I can get the right ~vibe~ lol
omg first of all, let me say that I’m so flattered that you trust my taste and watched those shows bc of me lol that makes me so happy :D
now, I don’t know exactly what’s putting you off abt glow and I’m not really good at these things, but i’ll try…
so one of the top reasons to watch glow is that the cast is mostly made up of women, and these women are pretty diverse: theres women of different races, sexualities, body shapes, ages and just out of the “norm” in general. all coming up together bc they apparently don’t “fit” what society expects of them and making a trashy show about women wrestlers is the way they find to discover their value and voice
I don’t really like pushing this “representation” narrative to convince ppl to watch shows (bc we’ve all learnt how insidious that can be) but I think Glow does a decent job when it comes to it, in a way that’s not overly pedantic imo and they deserve more attention for it
- the main story revolves around the complex relationship between these two women: ruth and debbie. So if you liked killing eve maybe you’ll like this one too.
- it’s one of the more honest representations of women’s relationships and friendships I’ve seen. It’s not that petty competitiveness but it’s also not that BFF narrative that ppl try to push when writing about relationships between women. you can see they all love and care about each other
- the women are not perfect, mostly the main two are portrayed in a way that’s hard to simply right them off as “good or bad” and I think that’s a positive thing.
- while the first 2 seasons are more focused on the friendship between ruth and debbie and thats the initial driving force of the plot, you eventually end up loving all of them for their personalities and personal dramas. And I'll say by season 3 you have a more ensemble cast dynamic.
- it’s pretty funny, and trashy, and has some absolutely ridiculous eps that you just can’t help loving it (s2ep8 is a gem lol) but it also can be gutting in a way you wouldn’t expect
- I think the show treats all the women with compassion, which is also smth you wouldn’t expect
- the music is so good
- it’s set in the 80s, but while all that glorious trashy-ness of the decade is present, the show also seems more aware of the unsavoury bits that the recent wave of media nostalgia seems to forget: the casual & overt racism, the fear surrouding aids, ppl struggling with coming to terms with their own sexuality amid all of that, it's all there but not in a way that weights you down, imo
- interacial lesbians featuring no white lol
Honestly I don’t know, it’s a pretty unconventional show and different from everything I’ve seen on tv. I’ll advise you tho that if it’s the wrestling thing that’s putting you off (like it was to me), I’ll say give it a chance bc I did and didn’t regret it, also once you get attached to everything else, the wrestling just becomes second plan and you even end up enjoying it (bc again, it’s ridiculous and not at all to be taken seriously lol).
