I GOT TO EXPLAIN HELLBEATS CORRUPTION TO A WHOLE 3 INDIVIDUAL PEOPLE

If you do check it out I do wanna give some quick heads up for you though:

The mod is a fan mod combining Hellbeats (FNF but in Hell) with Corruption (FNF but zombie apocalypse) -- you don't really need to know the full lore of either I think, since the mod does its own spins on both, but I thought it would be good to say given the change in setting

As it is a Corruption fan mod, each song is shown off separately like "episodes"

The mod was cancelled, so it's just the first two weeks + a bonus song and the first song of Week 3. Still a really good story!! It just ends on a cliffhanger.

I do still highly recommend it! My friend @inkandpaintleopard showed the mod to me a while back and it just rotates around in my head sometimes

OHH now I'm even more interested,, looks at you with my big eyes

Also the mention of the Corruption mod just reminded me of when I first got into FNF pff

Just- Hellbeats Corruption thoughts:

• Do you notice how Skid’s eyes kinda change color? Like ordinarily they’re white, but in Devotion they have a kinda gradient. Maybe it comes from the corruption, cause his corrupted eyes are blue?

• This thought hit me earlier and I forgot to say anything, but where would Girlfriend fit into the mod? Did she ever hear that any of that was happening? Would she have been able to do anything? Cause I just think that if Pump can bring Skid back then GF could heal Boyfriend easily (I’d also like to think though that that’s not how it works and the spookeez are just that special)

• I forgot to say this last time I said anything about the random details; I’d always known that the end-title card plays a bit more music with each video, but watching all of them in one go told me just how much. Like it starts out so ominously silent and ends with an entire little tune. That and the lights going out idk I just love the end screens and this whole mod

Oh, no I didn't notice that! I wonder if it has to do with the corruption, or maybe it's connected to his heart being blue

GF is... completely absent the last time I checked? Which tbh is an interesting angle given she's always with Boyfriend. I imagine if the mod had continued past Flashy Sins we would have seen her eventually, especially given DD's namedrop in the final video

For what it's worth, that V2 video had a placeholder cutscene basically saying BF was on his way to meet her, Monster just got to him first, so she was... probably fine? If DD cared enough about Hell to cancel his concert and offer refuge, then him and MM were probably even more overprotective of GF than they usually are

Oh I didn't notice that! I'll have to do a rewatch soon, that's really cool (also yeah I love the lights going out, little things like that just tick off all the boxes for me)

So I was thinking about HBC Roy again, y'know, as you do, and I realized that the later redesigns for HBC Skid and Pump have stuff going on with their right eye, and HBC Roy has a big scar over his right eye

It's 100% a coincidence but I thought it was neat

Ok the first thing I thought of was that HBC Monster has that too?

And apparently so does Boyfriend?

Like yeah it’s definitely coincidental but like what if there’s a theory to be formed

Holy shit I went back to listen to Pump's voice in HBC and HIS PUPILS CHANGE SHAPE!!!

It's only in some poses/obscured by the glow effect but I didn't notice it the first time around!!!!

Oooo okay but this has also given me t h o u g h t s

Like maybe at first the body is just the mannequin with tentacles, but as time goes on it starts to resemble Skiddad more and more, but twisted, as part of both Hell Logic and Eyes, like he gets his hair back but it's all bumpy like Eyes' head/"brain", and his hair crooks are recreated with those bug limb/feeler things Eyes has

Also I keep imagining the mannequin with those teeth Eyes has and it's creepy perfection

WAIT THAT WOULD BE SO FREAKY AND COOL ACTUALLY-

I took a closer look at Roy's design in Atonement and-

It looks like he's got horns and a scar over his eye, and now I'm wondering if the scar happened before or after he died-

Sorry for the eyestrain on this one, but he's got a tail too!

Like it's such a small part of the video but just- Roy looks sad. He looks tired, and MAN I wish we could see what he was like in Hell before the Corruption took hold

Oh, and he's in the window during Devotion too, now corrupted

Like damn even in the corruption that smile looks forced. The fact he's staring at Skid and Pump too...

OH I DONT THINK I EVER THOUGHT THAT WAS HIM IN THE WINDOW-

Do you think he regrets whatever he did while he was alive? Whether it was bullying or something more? Maybe he regrets what he did to Skid and Pump and that’s for some reason why he’s in their general area?

I wanna know where they got all their clothes from. My headcannon right now is that their old clothes just got really beaten up over time so they found new ones (I read somewhere that the original Hellbeats takes place 100 years after the actual game), but like I don’t think there’s a definite answer.

Was that shirt Roy’s wearing ever in the background of any Spooky Month episode or am I just making that up?

Skid doesn't even face BF anymore, he's just. Crying. He wants Pump, he wants his mom, he wants to go home.

(as a sidenote, I love how all of Skid's vocals in this part are squeaky or warbley, like he's trying to sing through tears)

ALSO. I might just be looking too far into it but to me it looks like their shadows look like their Hellbeats selves??

Like Skid's hair is pointed into horns and Pump's afro looks like his pumpkin.
