cons of dating ran:
you have to clean up after him
you have to love him as much as he loves himself, if not More
you have to feed him sweets when he gets in a Mood
you have to live in constant fear of embarrassment of the things that come out of his mouth
will put rindou first before you im so sorry. u will always have to live with the knowledge that his family is his most important and most valued thing
he's not exactly jealous but he is clingy and melodramatic just to watch you squirm
good luck navigating his mood swings
good luck x 2 trying to tell if he's being serious or messing with you
he doesn't date for marriage so good luck x 3 getting him to that stage
guy who says "sorry i didn't reply i was asleep (for 14 hours)" but actually means it
you have to compliment him constantly. he's not insecure he just likes his ego stroked.
either join his pranks or be the victim of them. you will still be pranked but at least when you join his schemes you can redirect his mischief to someone else instead.
not afraid of commitment but you have to keep him entertained/be interesting to him as a person or he'll get bored and move on without remorse
pros of dating ran:
he buys you things bc he loves to pamper his favorite people and see them dressed in stuff he got for them 🩷

Thinking thoughts ab this messed up family again and thinking again about Garp wanting for Ace and Luffy to become strong - strongest - marines as form of protection because to him that's their best shot at staying alive.
While Dragon on the other hand was significantly different, I do think he was unexpected, because frankly Garp was and is not fit to be a parent ( having had no parental figure growing up ) nor do I think he would've really wanted a child. But he still loved his son and tried his best with what support he had from his peers and friends. He still wanted Dragon to be a marine, of course, but without the same kind of pressuring need as there'd been with Ace or Luffy, he'd be far more inclined towards letting things progress at a more natural pace.
He was still strict, more knowledged on being a soldier than father, but more lienient and more present in Dragon's early life. Present enough to complain and rant about restrictions and his anger towards the government and celestial dragons to or where his son could hear.

I don't talk about this nearly as much as I should, but i am SO proud of myself <3
I am proud of how far I've come, I am proud of the fact that I look in the mirror most days and I can actually recognize my own face, I am proud of the fact that I am genuinely happy (most days), I am proud of the fact that I am alive.
