Okay so I'm gonna put this stupid huge screenshot here of all the characters assignments I worked out when I was first thinking about this the other night for anyone who actually knows anything about FMiP and then I'll actually explain some of the fun/important ones

Okay so Bdubs as Lena just kind of immediately was like the easiest choice in the world. Lena is very silly but incredibly serious about her dancing in the same way Bdubs is incredibly silly but very thoughtful and serious about his art. She tends to be very headstrong and stubborn, but always willing to try new forms of dance and to learn new things, and all of that just felt very Bdubs to me.

I also thought he'd be very fun across from Etho in the role of Max, who tends to be portrayed as very skilled and mysterious in the same way Etho tends to be seen by a lot of people, but when you get down to it can be a little bit of a pain in the ass or a loser in an endearing way. Max wishes he could be Etho is all I'm saying. Anyways I just think Etho and Bdubs whole dynamic maps well onto what the show had going on with Lena and Max.

Tango as Ines is fun. Ines is Lena's roommate and while she tends to be a bit closed off and slow to trust in a way that sometimes reads as self absorbed, she is fiercely loyal once she is someone's friend. She is also a fucking genius in quantum physics and the only one who knows about and assists Lena with her time travel issues throughout a lot of the show. I think Tango with his kind of closed off, game design genius locked in a hole to make fun stuff for his friends approach to minecraft maps very well onto Ines's whole thing and I have always really live Tango and Bdub's friendship so that works out perfect.

I put Cleo as Thea, who is Lena's main rival throughout the show because I feel like Cleo and Bdubs often tend to play kind of antagonistic towards each other often in a very fun way that could map really well on to Lena and Thea's whole dynamic. I also think her usual dynamic with Etho maps really well onto Thea and Max's relationship, so win win.

Joe gets to be Jeff because they are both silly goobers and I also think Jeff's whole thing of like. Being out of place in the school because he's actually mostly a street dancer who audition for the ballet school on a dare and sees himself as not worth the position despite being good enough to have gotten in could be really interesting to explore with Joe 'I'm always trying to do the unexpected and the opposite of everyone else' Hills. Also Jeff is one of Thea's best friends and you know I can not resist the Joe Cleo friendship <3

Pearl as Dash is pretty easy. Dash and Ines have a really fun dynamic in the show that I think could be kind of interesting to mix up with Tango and Pearl's dynamic from this season

Bree and Kennedy are basically Thea's silly minion characters so I thought throwing XB and Keralis in there as a silly dynamic duo was perfect.

Scar as Henri!! Henri is the one in the original show who gives Lena the time piece necklace, inadvertently accidentally sending her forward in time and then spends the rest of the show trying to fix it and getting himself into trouble over and over again. Henti is the type of guy who always has a plan but these plans are often impulsive and about 50% of the time fails spectacularly, which I think is perfect for Scar. He also spends like half of the show running circles around the Time Collectors like bugs bunny. Which also feels absolutely perfect for Scar. Plus I am always a fan of a good Bdubs and Scar duo, so that's a free bonus.

Anyways. Speaking of the Time Collectors. I've put EX, Hels, and Zed in their place. I think EX and Hels as like guys who think they are serious villians but keep failing miserably and being treated like misbehaving children by characters like Xisuma (taking the role of Victor), and who are often working towards the same goal but struggle to agree on how, plus Zed, who is very silly and very happy to be helping but not really fully bought into the whole villian thing, and who also occasionally has incredibly effective ideas despite his portrayal being a little air headed is perfect. Also with the way Frank and Clive are often portrayed as being actually really close despite the kind of silly dynamic they have, I think EX and Zed are perfect for that.

And anyways Xisuma as Victor, who is Henri's father in the show and the original owner of the time piece that sends Lena forward in time. I like X for this role because Victor and Frank specifically have a really interesting dynamic that works well for X and EX, and also because I always love X in a kind of care taker role. And Victor specifically is a kind of interesting complex character I wish the show had explored more. He's trying to do what's best for everyone but in his refusal to be fully open with any of them in his attempts to protect them he actually ends up causing more problems as all of the people he's trying to keep out of trouble keep acting on incomplete information and making more trouble. And anyways I think X works great for that kind of role and dynamic with the other characters.

Okay speedrun round. Ren as Alexandria, Lena's mother in the show who also has a history with time travel and Victor specifically. I like this for him because of A) the monarchy era and B) he and Bdubs dynamic during his rule in s9. Mumbo is Oscar, who is kind of a reclusive, nervous time travel genius who ends up helping Henri in the show, which i think is bothe the perfect role for Mumbo and the perfect dynamic for him to have with Scar. Joel as Claudine, who was kind of Lena's rival in the past and who kind of caused her family to want to take her back home to Russia sparking the whole plot cause I like Bdubs and Joel's stupid rivalry. The rest are whatever I'm done typing this has gone on too long o7

Okay, I'll bite. What the fuck is Find Me in Paris

YAY YIPPEE LET'S GO

Okay so Find Me in Paris is a show about a girl named Lena who is a Russian princess attending the Paris Opera Ballet School in 1903. Her commoner boyfriend gives her a weird time piece necklace he found in his father's things as a gift before a big performance, and when the two of them try to run away after Lena's parents try to force her to go back to Russian she accidentally time travels to the modern day Garnier opera house using the time piece. She then has to try to blend in at the modern ballet school, posing as another student as her clueless boyfriend tries to find a way to bring her back to the right time period. Drama ensues, obviously.

It is the maybe stupidest show in the world and I love it dearly. It's kind of got the vibe of if like an old school Disney series was made for a slightly older audience. It is all sincerity and passion and absolute zero budget. Or their budget all went into the locations they film in because honestly the way they use the back drop of Paris is impressive as hell. The cinematography bounces between honestly beautiful, completely standard and unremarkable, and honestly just completely baffling. The time travel CGI is terrible in a way that is so incredibly hard to look away from. Everything in the modern day is bright and vibrant and every time we see events happening in 1903 they put this greenish filter over it that fucks with the exposure in a way that is sometimes completely distracting. The writing is. Iffy. At points. But grows on you in a way you would not expect. Mostly because this show is carried on the backs of it's actors, who are all obviously incredibly passionate and imbued their characters with such individual and believable personalities despite their slightly cartoonish nature. Despite everything you really do buy into all the relationships because it is obvious the actors do too. The soundtrack fucks like all hell. All their music is made for the show. The choreography is also sometimes really impressive all things considered. Occasionally corny. Buy occasionally really really good.

It is trying to be everything at once. There is sports anime style ultra competitive ballet school drama. Normal teen relationship drama. A side plot about them breaking school policies to do street dancing competitions. An ambiguous evil time travel agency. Independent antagonists called the Time Collectors (the best characters btw) who are working against both the main characters and the evil time travel beauro. Family drama. Time travel related family drama. I think they tried to do chosen one shit in the last season?

The main character is a Russian princess with an English accent living in Paris who leaves her time a decade before the Russian revolution which had to have killed or displaced her family and despite discussing her family history on several occasions this is never brought up or explored despite everything other little thing they will explore.

There is like. A love pentagon in the main cast, and it's stupid and evil. Lena has her 1903 boyfriend and then ends up in the future and ends up down bad for this guy Max who sucks and already has a girlfriend (who eventually ends up with the main time collector guy?) And also there's a gay guy (the other best character) who also likes Max and is actually the only one normal about it and they write him a normal actually gay love interest later but literally why tf is every one in this school down bad for Max who sucks. This is not the only confusing love triangle in the show. You get it. You understand the type of show this is. Certainly.

All of the characters are of ambiguous age and it is unclear if they are supposed to be highschool or college age which got. Concerning at a certain point in the third season when they introduced a third love interest for Lena. Idk i didn't finish that season it came out much later than the first two and has. Almost nothing to do with the first two honestly. On the other hand there are a lot of really cool and complex adult figures in the kids life's, teachers at the ballet school, parents, time travel experts, and a lot of them, especially the teachers, end up in really interesting protector roles for the kids, since they live at the school and spend most of their time there, and yet even as more and more of the kids get dragged into the time travel drama the show never chooses to explore the idea of any of the out of the loop adults finding out about the time travel. Wasted potential in my opinion. I think Armando or Miss Carré should've gotten to hit someone from the time travel beauro upside the head with a lead pipe.

I could probably talk about this forever. I stumbled across this show by accident in middle school and have seen the first two seasons 1000 times since then. I said all this not having watched it in over a year. It is the comfort show of all time and it has no fandom and no one has ever heard of it. Those first two seasons just got put up on Netflix recently. For those interested. Nudge nudge.

So, the IWA, Interworld Affairs, is an agency that helps handle things like disputes between different servers, server set up and maintenance for inexperienced admins, security for large scale public servers, and, their bread and butter, helping with anomalies, both code based and magical. This could include anything from sending someone in to find and fix an issue with the code in your server to finding a hacker who's caused problems for you to dealing with something more esoteric, like say, a credible sighting of herobrine, or some kind of magical corruption taking over your server, or say, an evacuation and rescue mission in the moon happens to start falling out of the sky on your server for no reason.

Case-HC-E follows follows Roger, an experienced field worker with the IWA who is exceptionally good at his job but is a bit hard to work with, and Felix, a recent transfer from the archives who is a friendly face with a lot of background knowledge but has zero field experience, as they take on IWA case HC-E-34768. The admin of popular creator server Hermitcraft has called in a strange magical anomaly in his server, a portal that's grown up out of the earth, a rift in their world, linking their world to that of their friends, a server which does not exist according to most IWA records and which the Hermits claim has been inaccessible for a long period of time, a period in which they have not been able to get in contact with their friends on the server. Technically, Roger and Felix's job is just to figure out how to close the rift, which they'll have to cross through it to do, but they get a lot more than they bargained for, to say the least.

So yeah, it's about them getting trapped in the Watcher!RT controlled version of Empires and what it takes to break that control, essentially. The whole project, when I get the time to actually do it, is supposed to be run ask blog style here on tumblr, with the readers/askers essentially serving as chat, or the crew of low level watchers that follow RT around, stalking Felix and Roger as they get roped into everything with Empires.

Anyways, as for the ghosts, very good prompt!! I feel like if I really wanted to get in depth about them I could think about it for days but like. Initial thoughts. Joe, Cleo, and Bdubs are definitely all outdoor cats. Probably also all three of the neighbor ghosts. I feel like Wels and Hels would both be sphinx cats and Hels would be fully hairless while Wels would have some amount of fur like on his legs and such. I feel like Cleo, Bdubs, and Keralis all have like really long, thick fur, and Keralis’s is extremely properly groomed and pretty and he wears bows and shit and Cleo would try to get him dirty of purpose. Mumbo and Scar are both those like really slick short haired cats. I feel like Mumbo's grey-blue and Scar is like an orange tabby. They are all terrorizing both each other and the humans on their property 24/7. Bdubs jumps the fence to go bother Etho despite living on Grian and Joel's side of the fence.

hellooo. do you have any thoughts about helsknight. any thoughts at all. i was driving to work at 3am today and there were deer frequenting the road and i considered the possibility of helsknight running out in front of my car full plate armor and getting hit and totalling my car and got a little frightened. i dont have any other sorts of helsknight thoughts right now just strange ones like that. do u have any. helsknight. yay

A) I'm in love with the image of you hitting helsknight with your car. I'm imaging him standing unharmed while your car is left nothing but a pile of scrap metal. Kind of like that scene in everymanhybrid where they hit slenderman with their car and it just kind of. Puts them somewhere else instead of doing any damage to him.

B) I have been back on the helsknight thought grind lately cause I picked back up a fic idea from a few months ago, so!! assuming my life can get back on the rails in the next few weeks, there might be a new long term fic with him soon :]

I won't say too much for fear of spoilers but I will say it was the same idea that had me drawing that little gnc hels doodle forever ago and that it's me exploring the idea of a Hels and Keralis friendship back in s7, involves leaning more into the clone part of Beef's cloning machine, and is kind of playing with how Hels might end up a bit more integrated in the hc server than I tend to usually write him

and also I can hand you this little doodle that I drew around the same time and never posted cause I've been looking for an excuse to post it anyways and I probably won't get around to drawing more to go with it any time soon
