Do you have any advice for younger detectives, or kids who want to become a great detective like you?

Oh? Of course I do! Before I became a great detective, I was an inspector on the force. I learned many of my great deductive skills there, in fact. Maybe take a visit to your local precinct and watch the masters at work! Of course, you could also read lots of detective books. It seems to work for that group of kids Conan runs around with... Brats.

btw last week on jp twitter they were goncharov-ing a detective conan movie into existence lmao

it all started because of this twitter user pointing out that the Osaka Expo 2025 venue looks like a setting out of a detco movie (x)

then someone fixed the color, added "original work by gosho aoyama", and voila (x)

An aspect of dcmk I find interesting is whenever someone confronts Conan about his identity, or implying that he's actually Shinichi, they never seem to think further about it than how it affects them personally. It's always that Shinichi is lying to 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 and trying to deceive 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮, but never that he's in hiding to protect 𝘩𝘪𝘮𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧.

And Shinichi freaks out every time, because in his mind his identity being revealed is literally life or death, no matter who it is. He goes into a panic survival mode every time, but whenever someone confronts him (Hattori, Ran, Sera, etc.) they never think of it from his perspective, and it just makes him out to be the asshole in the scenario.

Funnily enough, the only person (other than Agasa who he told willingly) who actually respects his situation and thinks about it from Shinichi's point of view is Kaito. Obviously this happens in a movie so the canon is a little flimsy but when he finds out Conan is actually Shinichi, instead of confronting him, he 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘴 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘺. He immediately shows support rather than trying to get him to confess or rat him out, and I fully believe it's because Kaito understands what it's like to have a hidden identity. While he doesn't directly understand Shinichi's situation, he understands enough to not threaten him with it, which is probably a big reason why Shinichi ends up trusting him as much as he does.

(the same could be argued for Akai but he hasn't revealed that he knows so I'm not counting it in this)

The funny thing about Kaito and Hakuba's frenemy shtick is that Hakuba doesn't just stand around and read out all his deductions because he knows reason won't stop Kaito from creating chaos. So he actually counters with more chaos.

Conan/Shinichi will be like: From how this room is laid out, one can infer that his escape plan is through the roof! He will then abseil from the top of the dome to the ground and hide in the garden!

And Hakuba will be like: No he won't, I cut the ropes.

Conan: You WHAT?

Hakuba: I took a walk. I saw a rope I haven't seen before. I cut it.

While Conan/Shinichi tries to MiNdPaLaCe Kid's plan, Hakuba's already blocking 3 escape routes and cuffing Kid in disguise to himself (or carrying him like a potato sack).

Hakuba is so powerful Gosho shelved him for the better part of the last 40 years only bringing him back once in a blue moon 😭

Hakuba being dynamic in both thinking and action makes him the perfect foil for the Magic Kaito series while Shinichi's armchair-esque deduction style tends to work more on criminals that are willing to confess when exposed. Not shameless showmen like Kaito.

What is a typical routine for you guys?

Hm. On an average weekday, me and Ran-niisan go to school while Mouri-san loafs around works at the office. Sometimes we get a case, and I'll usually tag along. If not, Ran-niisan's out with friends, or working on schoolwork, and I hang out with my school friends. Weekends are a little more relaxed schedule wise. -Edogawa
