Hi Plant, What in your opinion was the most revealing financial shenanigan? in the sense the most hidden and obfuscated fact, I am aware that the funding is "complex" but wonder if it is deliberately so, to avoid having to be transparent.

Paradise Papers, for sure. First, because it shows us how much we don’t know. They brag about the accounts being “audited”by parliament, but these arrangements were not discovered until they were leaked by a third party, and if they have one of these opaque entities, they probably have hundreds. Second, because of the arrangements to keep the investment secret. Again, if they have one of these, they have hundreds. Third, because of the “we were not aware of any shenanigans because we aren’t in charge of the investments” excuse.

My personal favorite, the Pearl of the Caribbean project in St. Lucia, is not that big, but it has all the goodies--Chinese billionaires, gambling, horses, and horribly unrealistic numbers. Harry did the groundbreaking ceremony THREE YEARS ago and they still haven’t even finished the race track. LOL, according to the original press releases, the first races would be held in Nov 2017. LOLOLOLOL.

Even the horse racing people are wondering what’s going on in St. Lucia.They can't help but notice that the government hasn't actually enacted any of the laws/regulations/partnerships with international regulatory bodies they would need to complete to actually have a legitimate horse racing industry in the country

This was a patently obvious scam where they promised a $2.8 billion dollar development in a region where the biggest and most prosperous islands (and St. Lucia is not one of those) count themselves blessed if they land a $300 million resort, and I check up on it every once in a while to see if the poor St. Lucians at least got a non-world-class “dirt-track” racetrack for all their trouble. The answer so far has been no.
