1 Corinthians 6:9–11
My translation:
9 Or do you not know that unrighteous ones will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not led astray; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor soft ones nor males lying with one another 10 nor thieves nor greedy ones, not drunkards, not slanderers, not ravenous ones will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And these things some of you were; but you were washed, but you were made holy, but you were declared righteous in the name of the lord Yeshua the Anointed and in the breath of our God.
Notes:
6:9–10
ὅτι introduces indirect discourse after a verb of cognition, the negated perfect οὐκ οἴδατε (from οἶδα; perf. form with pres. sense).
κληρονομέω (18x) is, “I inherit”, from ἡ κληρονομία (14x) “inheritance” (cf. ὁ κληρονόμος, 15x, “heir”), itself from ὁ κλῆρος (11x) “lot” (used in deciding) + νέμω “I assign” (not in NT). The substantival adjective ἄδικοι (“unjust, unrighteous”; see note on v. 1; NIV: “wrongdoers”) is the direct object of the negated future οὐ κληρονομήσουσιν. θεοῦ is a descriptive genitive modifying βασιλείαν which is the direct object of the verb.
The negated present imperative μὴ πλανᾶσθε (from πλανάω “I mislead, deceive”) denotes a prohibition to an action already in progress.
The οὔτε ... οὔτε ... οὔτε construction is, “Neither ... nor ... nor ...”
ὁ μοιχός (3x) is “adulterer”, from μοιχεύω (15x) “I commit adultery” (cf. ἡ μοιχεία, 3x, “adultery”).
The adjective μαλακός (4x) is, “soft” (so in the gospels) from ἡ μαλακία (3x) “softness” (in the sense of “infirmity”). Here it is figurative and means, “effeminate” (BDAG), referring to the passive male partner in a homosexual act.
ὁ ἀρσενοκοίτης (2x) is, “a homosexual person”, from ἄρσην (9x) “male” + ἡ κοίτη (4x) “a bed, lying down” (note the two root words are found in in the LXX of Lev. 18:22, 20:13, et al). The term refers to the active male partner in a homosexual act.
ὁ κλέπτης (16x) is, “thief”, from κλέπτω (13x), “I steal”.
The series of plural substantives form a compound subject of the main verb κληρονομήσουσιν in verse 10: πόρνοι (“a sexually immoral person”; see note on 5:9), εἰδωλολάτραι (“idolater”; see note on 5:10), μοιχοὶ, μαλακοὶ, ἀρσενοκοῖται, κλέπται, πλεονέκται (“covetous”; see note on 5:11).
Here the construction changes (“neither ... nor ... nor ... not ... not ...”) adding to the compound subject of κληρονομήσουσιν: μέθυσοι (“drunkard”; see note on 5:11), λοίδοροι (“reviler, slanderer”; see note on 5:11), ἅρπαγες (“swinder”; see note on 5:10). The ten substantives form the subject of the future κληρονομήσουσιν (from κληρονομέω “I inherit”; see note on v. 9). βασιλείαν, modified by descriptive genitive θεοῦ, is the direct object of the verb. ‘All of them are in apposition to ἄδικοι, an apposition which would seem quite natural to Greeks, who were accustomed to regard δικαιοσύνη as the sum-total of virtues, and therefore ἀδικία as the sum-total of vices’ (ICC). Paul ‘is not describing the qualifications required for an entrance examination; he is comparing habituated actions, which by definition can find no place in God’s reign for the welfare of all, with those qualities in accordance with which Christian believers need to be transformed if they belong authentically to God’s new creation in Christ’ (NIGTC).
6:11
The substantival near-demonstrative pronoun ταῦτά, referring to the ten substantives in verses 9–10, is the predicate nominative of the imperfect ἦτε (from εἰμί) and the indefinite pronoun τινες is the subject. With the second-person verb, τινες is translated, “some of you”.
ἀπολούω (2x) is, “I wash away”, from ἁπό + λούω (5x) “I wash”. The preposition “away” does not translate into English in the passive, so, “I wash”. ἀπελούσασθε is an aorist middle, thus “you washed away [your sins]”, not “you were washed” as most translations read.
ἀπελούσασθε and aorist passives ἡγιάσθητε (from ἁγιάζω “I make holy”) &  ἐδικαιώθητε (from δικαιόω “I justify”) are each preceeded by ἀλλά for emphasis, showing that the Corinthians are no longer marked by the behaviors that the pagans are. CGT takes ἡγιάσθητε to mean, “dedicated to a holy life.” BDAG says, ‘In the context of 1 Cor 6:11 ἐδικαιώθητε means you have become pure.’ Most translations: “But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified.”
The preposition ἐν (twice) modifies all three above verbs instrumentally. ἐν τῷ ὀνόματι τοῦ κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ (“in the name of the lord Jesus Christ”) has to do with an appeal to authority. καὶ ἐν τῷ πνεύματι τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν (“and in the Spirit of our God”) expands the agency of the three verbs.

ENEMY LOVE?
How are Christians to relate to an increasingly hostile and alien culture? Do we respond in kind, fighting for the values we hold dear, or does Christ call us to a better, more productive way?
How are Christians to relate to an increasingly hostile and alien culture? Just as I presented some historical context, let’s broaden our view a bit to gain some important Biblical context.  Up above, we saw through the example of the Old Testament, that despite being God’s chosen people, there were times when Israel disobeyed and in turn suffered calamity and banishment under the just judgment…

Get Rid of Sin (1 Corinthians 6:1-11)
Sin is both things we do as well as things we leave undone, both the breaking of God’s commands, and the lack of conforming to the teachings of Jesus.
The Apostle Paul at his Desk, by Rembrandt, 1657 When any of you has a grievance against another, do you dare to take it to court before the unrighteous, instead of taking it before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you incompetent to try trivial cases? Do you not know that we are to judge angels, to say nothing of…

"THAT CONTAINER IS LYING ABOUT ITS CONTENTS"
Matthew 7:15, “Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you LOOKING LIKE SHEEP on the OUTSIDE, but on the INSIDE they are really like wild WOLVES.” (GNT) My two favorite seasons are Winter and Fall! Winter, because I love Christmas, snow, carols, decorations and the like. And Fall, because I love the colors, Thanksgiving, the start of the scent of fireplaces, but most of all,…

Pursue what matters most
In the book of Romans, Paul begs Christians to give their entire lives over to God because God sacrificed everything for them. Jesus gave up His life so that we could experience His unending love and grace. We cheapen His gifts if we refuse to align our lives with the way Jesus lived.
But we give our lives to God by making Him the one thing we pursue above anything else.
So here are 5 steps you can practice—right now—to help you put God first.
Give thanks
“We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds.”
Psalms 75:1 ESV
Right now, take a moment to thank God for what He’s already done for you. Reflect on His faithfulness, and recount the stories you have seen and heard of His wonderful power.
Spend 5 minutes in silence
“Abide in me, and I in you.”
John 15:4 ESV
Abiding in Jesus starts with stillness. So right now, pause, take a deep breath, and give anything concerning you over to God. Spend 5 minutes centering your heart on the One who matters most.
Remember Whose you are
“You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 ESV
God loves you. The price He paid for you cost Him everything. So remind yourself of Whose you are, and reflect on some of the things God says about you.
Meditate on God’s Word
“Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.”
Psalms 119:97 ESV
One of the best ways to find out how Jesus wants you to live is by spending time in Scripture. As you do, ask God to speak to you through His Word about what His will is.
Focus on what is excellent
“…If there is any excellence … think about these things.”
Philippians 4:8 ESV
You have been given the mind of Christ. If you’re not sure what you should think about, try asking yourself: What is praiseworthy? What thoughts and actions would honor God?
Make a list of whatever comes to mind, and pursue those things.
By practicing these steps every day, you can create habits that will help you pursue intimacy with God every day, and put Him first above everything else.

1 Corinthians 6, Reed's Version
I hear that when some of you have a complaint against a fellow believer, you actually take it to the civil courts instead of to the church! Don’t you know that Christ’s people will help him rule the world someday? So if you are worthy to rule the world, why do you think yourselves unworthy to decide trivial matters? Don’t you understand that we will judge angels, much less trivial things? So when you have a dispute over small matters, why do you submit yourselves to the judgment of those who don’t share your worldview? You should be embarrassed! Can it be that there really isn’t anyone in your church wise enough to decide such cases for yourselves? Apparently not, because you are suing one another in civil court! It’s bad enough that there are lawsuits among you at all. Wouldn’t it be better to just let yourselves be hurt or cheated? But as it is, you hurt and you cheat one another — your own brothers and sisters! Don’t you understand that those people you consider so wise as to judge your cases have no place in God’s kingdom? Don’t be misled; things like sexual impurity, idol-worship, adultery, homosexual practice, thievery, greed, drunkenness, verbal abuse and extortion have no place in God’s kingdom. Like those people, you were once marked by these things. But you were washed in baptism, you were purified, you were set right with God through the lord Jesus Christ and God’s Spirit.
You say, “In Christ, I can do whatever I want.” Yes, but not all things are good for you. “I can do whatever I want,” but some things will control you if you let them. You say, “We are flesh and blood, so let’s indulge every appetite. Everything turns to dust in the end.” But the body was not made to serve improper lusts; it was made to serve the Lord. Our bodies will not stay dust but will be raised up by God’s power, just as he raised Jesus. Don’t you understand that you are connected to Christ not only in spirit but also in body? So is it right to take a part of Christ’s body and unite it with a prostitute? Never! Don’t you realize that to have sex with a prostitute is to become of one body with her? As scripture says, “The bodies of the two become as one.” But you are already united with God, since you share in His Spirit. So avoid sexual impurity like the plague. You say, “Sins don’t affect the inner person.” That’s not true. Sexual sin is indeed a sin against your own body. Don’t you understand that your bodies is temples for the Holy Spirit whom God has sent to live in you? So, you don’t belong to yourself; God has purchased you, and at a cost. So honor God, I beg you, in everything you do with your body.

Teaching people they can embrace sexual immorality and yet still inherit the kingdom of God is a clear example of heresy.

Washed Clean and Sanctified
And such were some of you [before you believed]. But you were washed [by the atoning sacrifice of Christ], you were sanctified [set apart for God, and made holy], you were justified [declared free of guilt] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God [the source of the believer’s new life and changed behavior]. — 1 Corinthians 6:11 | Amplified Bible (AMP) The Amplified Bible Copyright © 2015 by The Lockman Foundation. FAITH!
• “Now FAITH is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” —Hebrews 11:1
• “And without FAITH it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” —Hebrews 11:6
• “I tell you the truth, if you have FAITH as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” —Matthew 17:20
• “Fight the good fight of the FAITH. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. ” —1 Timothy 6:12
• “We live by FAITH not by sight.” —2 Corinthians 5:7
• “Be on your guard; stand firm in the FAITH; be men of courage, be strong.” —1 Corinthians 16:13
Faith is the most important gift a Christian has (other than Salvation in Jesus Christ and God’s Word: The God-breathed, Spirit-filled Holy Bible). With God and faith, the impossible can become the possible. Hebrews chapter 11 (https://bible.com/bible/116/heb.11.NLT) is all about the faith of people in the Bible: Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses (and his parents), Rahab and the people of Israel! And these are just the people mentioned in Hebrews 11! There are many more ordinary people throughout the Bible who were chosen by God and, by faith (and with God’s help), did amazing, miraculous things.
Friend (just like the people in the Bible), with faith and God’s help, there is nothing you and God can't achieve together. Keep seeking God’s will, keep praying, keep believing (Lk 11:9-10, Mk 11:24) and you will see miracles begin to happen. Amen and Hallelujah! 🙌🙌🙌

9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh. James 3:10-12 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of devils; ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table and of the table of devils. 1 Corinthians 10:21 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. 2 Corinthians 6:14-17
Throughout the entire Bible we hear of the warnings and consequences of trying to be on the side of the world and the side of God. How come we so often mix our words with blessings and cursings? How can we claim to be of the light if we talk like those who are in darkness? As it is said in James can a fountain send forth sweet and bitter water at the same place or a fig tree bear olive berries? We have been told and the truth will set us free and here we have it. Let us put away all cursings and become a fountain of blessings.
Prayer
Father we thank you for your truth. We know how foolish and stubborn we can be and we thank you for your patience. You have warned us many times about being a partaker of both sides and we are deeply sorry for all the times we have not listened to you. We turn from cursings to blessings and ask to help us stay on your path. Thank you Father. Praise be thy name, Amen.

"THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING AND KNOWLEDGE"
THE HOLY SPIRIT’S WORK IN JEREMIAH: God’s call and anointing upon Jeremiah’s life as a prophet began in the womb. God reveals to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5 AMPC). This reveals that the…
