Hey there. I was wondering if you could help me. I'm struggling to find a job, for when I finish college in a couple of months. Unfortunately, there's slim pickings for us theater majors out there, and I've had no luck landing anything. Do you think you would know a job that I could get?
You never thought you’d be in this situation. Sure, your friends and family looked upon you skeptically when you said you were getting a degree in theater. Always questioning you about your career plans and what you planned to do with that. But you persisted- spending hours learning about the evolution of theater from different cultures and creating complex scripts. You truly loved it- your passion palpable. But graduation day was approaching.
“I’d like to do something in my field.” You say, while your college’s career counselor looked over your resume on his tablet, “I’ve written a few plays and...”
“I can see that.” His words carried a dismissive tone and his eyes are glued to his tablet, “But there aren’t any opportunities for you based on your specific interests and timeframe.”
“But that’s not fair.” You complain, “I came here because you guarantee 100% of your graduates leave with a job in their chosen field.” You felt frustrated- you paid a lot of money to get this degree with the belief that you’d be employed.
“We do indeed.” He says, continuing to focus on his tablet, “We work closely with our students to get them to where they need to be.”
“So then why...”
“But sometimes it takes time.” He continues, swiping aggressively on his touchscreen, “But with all struggling students, we can match them into a program that has better career prospects.”
“But I don’t...”
“Take for example Exercise Science.” He says, “This year, 100% of their students will be going into a career in their field.”
“How does that have anything to do with...”
“Theater didn’t work out for you, did it?” He says, handing you the tablet, “But I think we can start fresh.”
You look down at the tablet and raise an eyebrow. Was this some kind of joke? It was a schedule for a freshman. Typed in bold letters at the top was “exercise science major” with classes already planned for the fall semester.
“What kind of game are you...?” You look up at him.
“What’s wrong?” The career counselor asks, “I thought this is what you’d want?”
“Well, it’s just that...” You look back down at the tablet, but it’s your hands that catch your attention. Are they bigger? Meatier? You shake your head, “It’s just that...”
“Are you having second thoughts about your major?” He asks.
“Yes... no... I mean, I don’t...” Your shirt is starting to feel a bit tighter around your chest, “It’s just that...”
“It’s not uncommon for new students to have doubts. But we want to ensure that you’re happy with your choice.”
“New students? But I’m...” Your sleeves feel tighter around your bulging biceps and triceps, “Wait... since when...?” You run your hand along the veiny muscles of your thick arms.
“This is why we have these meetings prior to you matriculating.” He continues.
“Ma-matricu...?” That word hurts your brain and your eyes narrow.
“It means before you formally enroll.” He says.
“Ah thanks bro.” You chuckle, “But wait... I’m already a student...” You shake your head again, “Seriously, what the fuck?”
“No need to get vulgar.” He says, “It’ll be okay.”
You start to breath faster and you quickly open the camera app on the tablet. The face looking back at you is definitely not your own. It’s younger, more chiseled, and your eyes are dull. But before you can say anything, a loud tearing sound fills the room. You yelp when your shirt falls in tatters around you, leaving your chiseled physique on full display. You whimper as you run your hands along your cobblestone abs and firm, hairless pecs.
“This isn’t... how, bro?” You look up at the career counselor.
“I said not to worry.”
And suddenly you feel a tingling in your brain. You realize your memories are being altered and changed as the last four years of your life are removed. Time spent in class, writing screenplays, and hanging out with your theater friends become hazy. Your time studying Anton Chekhov and Lynn Nottage vanish from your mind. Even personal details start to shift. You’re no longer a 22 year old college senior about to graduate with a theater degree. No, you’re an 18 year old high school senior about to enter college. A single tear rolls down your chiseled face as you realize your passion for theater has been replaced for a dedication to the gym.
“Are you okay?”
Something feels terribly wrong. And as you look down at your toned abs and meaty pecs, there’s a voice yelling deep from within you that this isn’t you. But no matter how desperately you try to remember being anything other than this meaty, smelly jock-bro, there’s nothing else. A dumb smile etches itself on your face.
“Nah man, I’m good.” You chuckle, “Sorry ‘bout the shirt though. These muscles can’t be contained.”
The career counselor smiles, “No worries. Well, we look forward to you starting in the fall. I’m hopeful that this time will yield you great success.”
“Yeah man, sure.” You grin.
And off you went- likely to the gym. Excited for the future and a career you were truly passionate about.

Things Biden and the Democrats did, this week #4
Feb 2-9 2024
The White House announced that a landmark 23 million Americans, 1 in 6 households, have been connected to affordable high speed internet with the help of the Affordable Connectivity Program, saving Americans between $30 and $75 every month on their internet bill. 4 Million ACP users are seniors, 1/4th of households on the program are African American and 1/4th are Latino, and it supports 320,000 households on Tribal lands. Sadly the program will be forced to end if Republicans in Congress continue to block new funding
The White House announced $5 billion for a National Semiconductor Technology Center, focusing on research and development as well as workforce needs. This is part of an effort under the CHIPS and Science Act to make America a world leader in science and grow jobs for the 21st century. This will include hundreds of millions of dollars of investment in workforce development
The EPA announced finalized rules that will strength air quality standard around fine particle pollution, AKA soot. The new stronger rules are projected to prevent 4,200 premature deaths and save Americans $46 billion in health costs by 2032. Soot is particularly harmful to those with lung and heart illnesses, children and those with asthma. Industrial soot is more common in low income communities
The Department of Transportation announced $1.5 Billion investment in America's bus systems. The bulk of the money will go helping local transport authorities buy low or no emission buses. There will also be investment in bus facilities.
President Biden signed a memorandum directing a strengthening of human rights safe guards around weapons transferred from US stockpiles to allied nations. The directive seeks to guarantee no arms are transferred that might be used to violate human rights.
HHS and HUD announced a join program partnering with 8 states and DC to help streamline an all of government response to homelessness. This is an off shoot of the $3.16 billion dollar investment amounted by HUD last week to end homelessness in America
The Department of Energy and FEMA released the findings of a two year study that projections Puerto Rico will be able to be 100% renewable energy by 2050. DoE also announced that by the end of the 30,000 low income Puerto Ricans will be able to apply for a solar power program, the first investments in a billion dollar DoE program for the island's renewable energy future
Department of Transportation announced $417 million dollar loan to the North Carolina Turnpike Authority to complete a major transportation overhaul in the greater Raleigh area
The EPA and Department of Energy announced a joint plan to invest federal funds to help measure and reduce methane emissions from the oil and gas production. Methane is the second largest green house gas after CO2 and is responsible for 30% of global warming in the last 200 years. This comes after the EPA pushed new rules to fine oil and gas manufacturers for excess methane emissions.
The Senate confirmed 2 more Biden nominated federal judges. This brings the total number of Biden judges to 177 For the first time in history a majority of a President's judicial nominees are not white men, Biden has nominated a majority women and people of color Biden also nominated 4 more federal judges, including two LGBT candidates. If they are confirmed it'll bring Biden's LGBT judge total to 11 tying with President Obama for the most LGBT people put on the federal bench

I'm sure you've been asked this before, but I need a source who isn’t wildly out of touch with what it's like to be a normal person. how financially viable was it to move to japan as a 20/21 year old? did you move there with assistance from a study program? were you able to afford everything relatively easily without an extreme amount of financial stress? sorry for being nosy. I dont need specifics, I'm just terminally curious for a firsthand account from a person who isn't independently wealthy or a 70 year old retiree. ❤️
For one semester of tuition I (my parents) paid:
$5000 without scholarship
$3000 with scholarship
Scholarship was granted on the basis of academic promise and financial guarantor status, and some students had their fees reduced by 75% and 100%.
Tuition was the thing my parent's helped me with the most, as they had saved up for all my siblings to go to college, and only my sister and myself did. But like I said, there was also significant tuition help for students worldwide at my school. Everything else I paid myself.
Before I moved I made sure I had no less than $5000 in pocket money for paying my move-in fees at my apartment, getting a Japanese phone, bank account, insurance, and a bike. After that, home appliances and necessities. When you make your budget, you always want to over prepare. I made sure I had $1000 wiggle room on top of my budget because once youre there, YOURE THERE and home is a long puddle away.
My rent was $600 for a small 1 room apartment (pictured here) that I would have paid less for if I spoke Japanese (paid the gaijin tax by going through an english speaking rental company)
Tumblr media
I chose this apartment because of its proximity to the Karasuma subway line, which I could ride directly to school. There and back was about $4 a day, as I went all the way up town. I paid about $40 in utilities on low-use months, and up to $120 on high-use months.
Monthly insurance was $70 without student subsidy, I believe closer to $10 monthly with it. This covers basically everything healthcare-wise.
Food was cheap in Kyoto specifically. Most restaurants had meals under $10, and if you're moving there for school theres a high liklihood you'll be in the city, which means you'll rarely be more than a 3 minute walk from a convenience store which has lunch sets you can take home or reheat and eat in the konbini's sitting area (not guaranteed to have one but more frequent than not having one). I spent maybe a few hundred monthly on meals, mostly because I couldn't cook due to how small my kitchenette was (it's that little stall in the back left corner of the room in the picture).
As an international student, if you're performing above a certain threshhold in your studies you can get a baito visa, meaning on top of your studies you can work a part time job for up to 20 hours a week. This can help a lot, and I knew a few people who worked at clubs, as translators, and as baristas.
If you are making money, you are expected to either pay tax to Japan, or your home country. This is something I absolutely cannot give advice on.
All that said, in my case, living in Japan as a solo adult was easier and significantly more affordable than living in the US with 3 roommates.

Wrong Order
Per our eating more healthy I've been placing orders with a company that delivers local produce, eggs, etc. Yesterday they sent me the wrong order. So now I have food that we don't normally eat. Need to figure out what to do with tofu. A lot of it is not recommended for people with eczema - which is annoying. We got fennel and mushrooms which are good for eczema but I don't normally use. I assume the company will still send my order.
Now that I've been at work for over a year I've been taking more liberties with my schedule. Longer lunches, doing some telehealth appts at lunch. I make sure I get done more work than most people do. No one seems to notice. I'm hoping its because they don't care but not really sure. I assume if they don't like it they will tell me.
As a nurse I get multiple text messages a week about job opportunties. They are generic and sent to a ton of people, I assume. Last week a recruiter reached out about a job I must have applied to when looking for jobs over a year ago. Its the same job I am doing now. 9-5 Mon-Fri. Normally the problem with nursing jobs is you have to do weekends. Which doesn't work for life with kids right now. Basically the same pay as my current job. I use my husbands insurance so not worried about that. I assume the job is also paid for via Medicaid - which is obviously shaky right now. The only difference is - there is no office. When I' not with a patient everything is done at home. Which would be ideal for me. He said I have 48 hours post appt to do my documentation and can do on my own time. 10 cases a week - which is not difficult. Making my own schedule would make life with kids so much better. I'm going to go ahead with the interview. However, I most likely won't take it. I am happy with my bosses here. No drama. I haven't had any problems getting Christmas week off - which is hard in a nursing job and VERY important to me. I am getting a ton of overtime - which i do easily at night time. The OT means I can take extra weeks of vacation - which is also super important to me. My jobs certainly not 100% guaranteed with Medicaid cuts but I lay offs would be done in a fair way based off union rules, I assume. Plus, I would get unemployment.
Anyway, if you are looking for a job where they are desperate for people - nursing seems to be a fairly good bet. Nothing's guaranteed with a nut job and his crook friends in the WH but it seems more guaranteed than most. You won't get rich but the salary is decent - especially when starting out. If you already have a bachelors degree an accelerated nursing program takes roughly 18 months.

The New York Times
Jonathan Swan
May 4, 2025
President Trump said in an interview that aired on Sunday that he did not know whether every person on American soil was entitled to due process, despite constitutional guarantees, and complained that adhering to that principle would result in an unmanageable slowdown of his mass deportation program.
The revealing exchange, on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” was prompted by the interviewer Kristen Welker asking Mr. Trump if he agreed with Secretary of State Marco Rubio that citizens and noncitizens in the United States were entitled to due process.
“I don’t know,” Mr. Trump replied. “I’m not, I’m not a lawyer. I don’t know.”
Ms. Welker reminded the president that the Fifth Amendment says as much.
“I don’t know,” Mr. Trump said again. “It seems — it might say that, but if you’re talking about that, then we’d have to have a million or two million or three million trials.” Left unmentioned was how anyone could be sure these people were undocumented immigrants, let alone criminals, without hearings.
Mr. Trump responded “I don’t know” one more time and referred to his “brilliant lawyers” when Ms. Welker asked whether, as president, he needed to “uphold the Constitution of the United States.”
The comments came amid the many legal challenges to the administration’s agenda, especially Mr. Trump’s aggressive deportation campaign, and as top administration officials have begun to question the president’s obligation to provide due process. Mr. Trump has attacked judges, called for their impeachment and ignored a Supreme Court ruling directing his administration to facilitate the return of a migrant, Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly sent to a prison for terrorists in El Salvador.
Mr. Trump said in the interview that he may seek clarification from the Supreme Court on what it meant by the word “facilitate” when referring to the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia.
Like most conversations with Mr. Trump, the interview roamed over broad territory, covering subjects as diverse as recent economic data, his trade war with China, negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, his musings about an unconstitutional third term in office, and possible Republican successors. The interview was taped on Friday.
The president, perhaps frustrated that President Xi Jinping of China has held firm under the pressure of the administration’s 145 percent tariffs on China, reverted to tough trade talk after weeks of signaling that he was eager for a deal.
Mr. Trump said he was not worried about a recession despite some Wall Street analysts predicting one and suggested that it was a good thing for the United States to have gone “cold turkey” on trade with China through the prohibitively high tariffs.
“We were losing hundreds of billions of dollars with China,” he said. “Now we’re essentially not doing business with China. Therefore, we’re saving hundreds of billions of dollars. Very simple.”
Noting that the U.S. economy shrank in the first quarter, Ms. Welker asked Mr. Trump when he would take responsibility for the economy and call it the Trump economy rather than blaming it on former President Joseph R. Biden Jr.
Mr. Trump’s response encapsulated his lifelong relationship with credit and blame: “I think the good parts are the Trump economy and the bad parts are the Biden economy because he’s done a terrible job.”
Asked about the war in Ukraine and his administration’s efforts to negotiate an end to it, the president said he had come close to walking away from the talks and still might do so.
Mr. Trump claimed during his presidential campaign that he could strike a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine within 24 hours of taking office. About 100 days in, he now claims he was being sarcastic. He has been frustrated by the grinding process and lack of progress. And President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia has ignored Mr. Trump’s public calls to stop bombing Ukrainian cities.
“Well, there will be a time when I will say, ‘OK, keep going. Keep being stupid and keep fighting,’” Mr. Trump said in the interview.
Mr. Trump was asked about his repeated statements about considering an unconstitutional third term in office. In the interview, he went further than he had previously in saying he did not intend to run again, despite the fact that the Trump Organization’s online store is selling Trump 2028 hats.
“There are many people selling the 2028 hat,” the president said, “but this is not something I’m looking to do. I’m looking to have four great years and turn it over to somebody, ideally a great Republican, a great Republican to carry it forward.”
Then he mentioned two Republicans who might fit the bill as his successor: Mr. Rubio and Vice President JD Vance.

Why Choosing a Top-Rated Medical Coding Institute Can Transform Your Future
Tumblr media
In the evolving world of healthcare, the demand for skilled medical coders is steadily increasing. With hospitals, clinics, insurance companies, and medical billing firms all seeking professionals who can accurately translate medical diagnoses and procedures into standardised codes, medical coding has emerged as a vital career path. If you're in Kerala and considering this profession, enrolling in a top-rated medical coding institute in Kozhikode can significantly enhance your prospects.
This blog explores how the right training institute can make a substantial difference in your career trajectory and why Kozhikode is becoming a preferred destination for aspiring medical coders.
What is Medical Coding and Why is It Important?
Medical coding involves transforming healthcare diagnoses, procedures, services, and equipment into standardised alphanumeric codes used universally. These codes are extracted from various sources, including patient medical records, laboratory reports, and doctors’ notes. Accurate coding ensures that healthcare providers receive proper reimbursement from insurance companies and maintains a standardised system across the healthcare industry.
This job not only demands technical know-how but also a keen understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. That's why it’s crucial to receive professional training from a top-rated medical coding institute in Kozhikode to ensure you’re industry-ready.
Why Kozhikode is Emerging as a Hub for Medical Coding Education
Kozhikode, also known as Calicut, is quickly emerging as a prominent centre for education in Kerala. With a thriving academic environment, Kozhikode offers a range of specialised institutes focused on healthcare and IT-related training. Its accessibility, well-connected infrastructure, and growing healthcare industry make it an ideal location for pursuing a medical coding course.
Moreover, the presence of several hospitals and healthcare facilities in and around the city provides students with potential internship and placement opportunities. Opting for a top-rated medical coding institute in Kozhikode can thus place you at the centre of a growing and dynamic industry.

A top-rated medical coding institute in Kozhikode ensures that students gain both theoretical and practical knowledge, preparing them for real-world challenges.
2. Expert Faculty and Mentorship
Top institutions employ experienced instructors with real-world industry experience. These professionals offer practical insights, tips, and mentorship that go beyond textbooks. Their guidance can help students understand complex coding systems and apply their learning effectively in actual healthcare scenarios.
3. Hands-on Training and Practice Sessions
One of the defining characteristics of a top institute is its focus on hands-on training. Simulated coding environments, case studies, mock tests, and real-world assignments help students become confident in applying their skills accurately and efficiently.

Wait, that's sick as fuck. I didn't know you originally majored in sculpture ! Now I'm curious about the long story. It's so cool to collaborate with tattoo artists, that sounds like a lovely experience for a first tattoo.
aaa ty! it really was great and i loved my artist he was really awesome and did an amazing job. my tattoo is over 10 years old now and still looks great, i couldnt be happier with it!
this actually ended up SO long so the full tea and all the drama under the cut but the TLDR: school hired a new head of the art department, he was a graphic designer who dissolved the fine arts programs and cut my major and i had to switch. insane highlights included are him being a misogynist a filling a female professors office with tampons, my homophobic jewelry professor trying to get my scholarship revoked when he found out i put on drag shows, my college's president embezzling millions, a parking garage collapsing, him getting fired, and my college no longer existing LOL
the long story is that i went to school for sculpture, but my university wasnt a dedicated arts university, we instead had an accredited arts college within our university. the year i enrolled they hired a new head of the arts department who was a graphic designer and decided he wanted to shift the program away from fine arts and towards digital arts because that was "the future" and began cutting the fine arts departments. i did not know this when i enrolled, obviously lol
so this dude is cutting more and more fine arts classes as the years go on, tho ofc he starts with the courses taught by women. the painting classes, which were taught by a dude named Todd who had it written into his tenure contract that he started every semester a week late because he'd be at burning man every year, kept his job to the very end. Todd was also a furry with a spotted hyena fursona and had 2 six food tall pillars called the "pillars of Todd" inside the painting studio where each side was a different version of his fursona wearing a little outfit. also all his paintings had a hidden gnome. Todd was overall pretty cool honestly he was a kept boytoy his wife was this 6ft tall butch construction worker who was loaded af and came from old money and genuinely kept him like some kind of feral animal. it was insane. he let me paint bridges and wet caves.
but anyway they keep telling everyone that if u enrolled under a fine arts major that ull be able to graduate with that degree, guaranteed. because technically, the higher u get into ur degree, the more freelance ur classes become, u go from taking like "intro to x" to just "studio" classes. so like for sculpture, u take "intro to sculpture" or "sculpture 100" then "sculpture 200" then 300 then 400 then "sculpture studio" and so ur senior year u should be taking at least 4 studio classes in ur given major which are essentially just free studio time to be working on whatever art your making. so u dont really need a full class of 30 ppl, a "studio" class can be just u. so even if they arent actively advertising that theyre offering sculpture anymore, i could still be taking sculpture studios, or so they said. at my university, each senior student had a final that consisted of a "senior gallery showcase" which was literally just a gallery show where u displayed all the art ud made over the course of ur 4 years there, usually there was some kind of theme or thesis, but really it could be whatever u wanted. it was ur creative vision and u got to do whatever u wanted with it.
it was also a chance to teach students *how* to showcase their art in a gallery, how to present it to the public, how to hang it, light it, price it, name it, describe it, advertise it, how to work with a venue and just other kinds of practical real world things that a lot of artists have to deal with but dont really think about till theyre out in the real world selling their pieces u know. it was a really cool program. one year a girl did like, a guerilla marketing campaign where one night her and a couple other ppl printed out these little 4x4 square pictures of sheep she drew, and they posted them EVERYWHERE like one day everyone woke up and the entire campus was just plastered with sheep and no one knew where they came from and everybody was fucking talking about these sheep. for days ppl were dying to know wtf was up with the sheep. and then at the end of the week right before the show same thing, everyone goes to bed next day they wake up and theres posters with the sheep and a time and place and so then everyone shows up to figure out where tf the sheep are leading us and BOOM its her gallery show. it was amazing and fucking genius. she had the biggest turn out i'd seen my entire time there. i still have one of those sheep i'll never forget it it was one of the most genius pieces of marketing ive ever witnessed in my life
so okay, im in my 4rd year, they're no longer offering sculpture as an actual major u can have, but im now 4 years deep into sculpture studios, i have all my other art prerequisites done, i am just working on my studio courses in order to have enough pieces and enough outside credits to graduate and i go to sign up for my final 4 studio courses. and this piece of shit *fires* the only sculpture professor in the entire university in order to fully dissolve my program because I was her only student left. and he tells me "well its fine, u can just transfer to pottery" as if thats at all the fucking same
which, fun sidenote to all this, this dude is a huge misogynist and a homophobe and is best buddies with the jewelry professor who is *also* a misogynist and homophobe and ALSO a gigantic racist weeb. he had a big ass FMA tattoo and spent a year abroad teaching in japan, his wife was also japanese but did not speak much english and he would always say the most fetishistic gross shit about her. the sculpture professor they fired, was a woman who they were constantly harassing to the point that she got a big ass german shepard service dog because she felt so unsafe on campus after they filled her office with fake "used" tampons dipped in paint. they were trying to get her to quit so they wouldnt have to pay her any benefits but she fucking stood her ground and refused so finally they fired her instead. after the jewelry professor found out i was gay and the head of our on campus lgbtq group that put on drag shows on campus, he called around and tried to have my scholarship revoked in order to get me kicked out because he knew i was there on a full tuition scholarship and couldnt afford it otherwise. it did not work and i filed a formal complaint against him that went nowhere cause ofc it did.
so like very literally these fucking men tried to actively ruin my life lol so after all that i said fuck all of this and decided to completely change my major and leave the art program entirely. I was really close with the head of the sociology department at the time, because i was taking a minor in womens studies and a lot of philosophy courses and stuff, and literally just broke down crying in her office and asked her to help me and she sat down with me and looked at what credits i had and what we could do and what degrees i could realistically get without having to completely start over from square 1. it still took me 7 years to graduate because i was completely unmedicated at the time and the mentals be illnessing and all but i did it eventually LOL
and while we're here and im spilling tea on my university, while i was there it came out that the president of the university and the dude who hired said piece of shit head of the art department, was embezzling millions of dollars from the school and had mismanaged a huge renovation project that crippled the school. so like, he built this gigantic fucking convention center at the far end of campus ontop of our parking lot, in order to make up for the parking loss, he built a parking garage on the other end of campus. well, since he embezzled the millions he got for the building of the convention center, he ended up selling it off to private investors, so the school doesnt even own the convention center. then, he cut tons of corners with the parking garage and used completely unsafe materials like indoor elevators for the outdoor garage (i got stuck in them one year because they would freeze in the winter and lock up) and concrete that wasnt rated for that weight and it literally fully collapsed, crushing everything inside. thankfully no one died. he was eventually found out and fired, obviously, because he was clearly very bad at hiding this. it also came to light that a lot of the ppl he hired and the decisions he made were equally bullshit, like that art dept head? yea he was also sexually abusing multiple female professors ontop of the harassment of my sculpture professor. the football coach got caught purposefully poaching suspended members of other schools teams who had criminal records because he knew theyd come to our school for dirt cheap, so our football team literally consisted of nothing but 20somethings with charges for assault and rape. literally tons of departments were a clusterfuck of a mess because everyone he put in charge were his "buddies" or otherwise unqualified pieces of shit and all of his hiring and firing decisions were ass
end of the story is that my university literally no longer exists LOL they dissolved it entirely and now its campus merged with a bunch of other schools to become one conglomerate state school and its called like pennwest or something now. absolutely fucking hilarious outcome honestly. good riddance

https://www.tumblr.com/not-goldy/749388466527354880/but-whats-special-about-jimin-and-jungkook?source=share
The special thing is anon that somehow it's always them two together when it actually matters. Who's the two members that have been close on and off cam together for 11+ yrs?? Jikook. Who's the member that goes to jk to comfort him the most when he's cryin?? Jimin. Who's the member that goes to jm when he's cryin?? Jimin. It's the consistency. who were the two members together when they got their first #1 hot 100 together?? Jikook. Which are the two members that do make efforts to spend their b'days together? Jikook. The other couple days i won't mention cause i don't know how much jikook give importance to those but it's still them two together if you consider it. Who were the two members that were last to leave their dorms than everyone else and were living together in dorms when everyone else left? Jikook.
Now who are the two members that someone ended up Enlisting together and not just together but actually using Buddy program? again Jikook. You know what's special? That if you actually try to find out which are the kpop idols has enlisted together using buddy program you'll only find jikook cause after yrs of Buddy program's exsistance no other two idols has ever enlisted through buddy program. Don't you think it's a wondering thing that how's it's always those two together??
And i for sure know if jikook ever talk about why they enlisted using Buddy program they won't go too much into depth. The only answer will be that they were both with visible tattoes so they thought why not go together and all. but you know what's questionable here? It's that why would any idols will willingly want to go to frontline when you have way more options to be in safer areas. Jin's frontline was given to him by the military itself so it has nothing to do with him willingly choosing when Buddy program directly guarantees you that you're going to frontline. They're idols anon their appearance needs to be good. They need their body parts well functioning to keep doing their work.
Do you know how much mental trauma that military gives?? Do you know they gave taemin desk job in middle of his MS cause he was going through mental health issues caused by military. Jimin didn't want to go neither jungkook nor any other members. So it means ALOT that the one who's been with you for 11 yrs is still going to be with you. Jungkook is shy and introvert in nature do you get how hard it would go for him to be with new people. Everyone was making fun of jm calling him omega but has anyone stopped to think how hard it was going to be for jungkook? He needs someone with him more than jm does cause jm can be extrovert when he wants and can easily get along with people than jungkook.
Yes they have other options so why is it always them?? Bond of people who shares vulnerable moments together is wayy stronger than anything else. Special thing is jungkook saying the hyung that gives him most comfort is jimin, his fav hyung is jimin, he said it in 2014 and it's 2024 ALOT has changed but it's still jimin that's going to be the one who'll give comfort to jungkook during his tims of military and vise versa. So many things happened in all these yrs, so many people wanting/wishing/hoping for them to stay away yet they're still together and very close.
Me and Jungkook's girlfriend thinking the same thing

Stuff related to anxiety and jury duty behind the cut. I hate adulting.
I had a bad experience with jury duty a few months ago that made me spiralingly anxious and occasionally quite self-hating a few weeks afterward. I wasn’t actually required to be on a jury that particular day but the judge made me postpone and pick a date within a certain time frame, instead of just dismissing me. I ended up picking Wednesday of this week, with a great deal of worry because I didn’t have all the information I needed to make that an educated choice. Now that I am coming closer to it, the anxiety is increasing again, and it’s making my brain, well… a pretty bad place to be actually?
My biggest fear right now is they’ll force me onto a trial that ends up being way too long, and I’ll miss my graduate school residency (which begins on July 12th and is absolutely 100% mandatory for my degree, cannot be missed.) Trials in this court are supposed to last about 3-5 days on average, so if things go like they say on paper, I’m in the clear, but when do things ever work like they say on paper? Missing my grad school residency means not doing my fourth and final semester and delaying my graduation until January 2026 at least, missing the trip I was going to plan in summer 2025 to celebrate my graduation, etc etc etc. It may even mean not getting a degree at all, because I go to art school, and there’s been enough administrative fuckery lately with my school that I’m worried it will—like many art schools recently—close abruptly and without warning. I have reached out to my school administration and asked if they want to write a letter on my behalf, and I’ve gotten some response, but I’m worried they won’t give me what I need in time and that a judge won’t believe me anyway when I bring up my education concerns.
My smaller fears are just… I guess… all tied to the disruption of routine that would come from being on a trial. And the worries of like, having someone’s situation in my hands to judge, and being surrounded by other people who are judging me. It’s pretty much guaranteed to make me overthink things, even if the trial is about a more minor crime. I do have slower processing speed, I do need to move around every half hour, I do need particular sensory accommodations, and all of these things would affect me, and yet!
I suspect 90% of this is my neurodivergence + generalized anxiety combo at work, and I suppose it is very real, but my dynamic disability imposter syndrome is really, really screaming at me. Like, oh, what do you mean you can get into one of the best writing programs in the country but you cant handle a simple adult responsibility like jury duty? No one likes it, you’re not unique! Suck it up! Who cares if you have AuDHD? That’s what the awful part of my brain is saying to me. It is telling me that my disabilities are no excuse to feel this way, that other people’s disabilities are more “real” and that my life is a piece of cake my comparison. My brain also tells me that I’m a hypocrite, and that if I take civic duties as seriously as I say I do, I should be having fun and jumping for joy about this.
And then having made those comments, the mean part of my brain rolls in and starts in on its other greatest hits. If I can’t keep a room clean as a goddamn adult, then I don’t deserve to have a comfortable living space that’s the right temperature, so no use having anyone look at your likely broken air conditioner. I don’t deserve to write fanfiction because I haven’t worked on my original fiction at all and I don’t like the “correct” characters in my fandoms anyway, and I don’t deserve to write original fiction because I’m the worst at my IRL job. Actually, I probably don’t deserve a place to live at all! Or friends! Or anything else!
The mean part of my brain is, as it happens, a liar. It’s also a loud one.
Anyway. Thank god for yoga in a few hours. I think that may help with the intrusive thoughts for a short time but I would really, really, really appreciate it if this jury shit could be resolved in an expedient, friendly manner so I can just breathe out and focus on other stuff.
