Disclaimer: This read may not go along with a lot of people. This is just something that I cam across and is a good to know article for most (if not all). I understand if a lot in my list would be unfriending me for this. I believe we just have to be more aware of these things too.

Heaven's Rainbow and the Worldly Rainbow: Their Significance, Differences, and Similarities.

Worldly Rainbow:

The rainbow flag is a symbol of the LGBTQ+ community and is widely recognized as a symbol of pride. It was created in 1978 by Gilbert Baker, an artist, designer, Vietnam War veteran, and then-drag performer1. Harvey Milk, one of the first openly gay elected officials in the U.S., commissioned Baker to create a flag that would represent the gay community12. The original flag had eight colors: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue, and violet1. The colors were meant to represent diversity and inclusivity within the LGBTQ+ community1.

The flag was first flown in San Francisco’s United Nations Plaza for Gay Pride Day on June 25, 19781. It quickly became the most popular symbol of gay pride and has become a ubiquitous symbol of Pride today1.

Since then, the rainbow flag has undergone several changes. The original eight-color version was reduced to six colors in 1979 due to production issues2. The current version of the flag has six stripes: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple3. Each color represents a different aspect of the LGBTQ+ community. Red represents life; orange represents healing; yellow represents sunlight; green represents nature; blue represents harmony; and purple represents spirit3.

Gilbert Baker designed the rainbow flag as a symbol of pride for the LGBTQ+ community at the request of Harvey Milk. The original eight-color flag represented diversity and inclusivity within the community. Today’s six-color version has become a ubiquitous symbol of Pride that represents different aspects of the LGBTQ+ community.

According to a CNN article, Baker was inspired by the Bible and the American flag when he created the rainbow flag. There was no information about Baker's religious views or beliefs. However, he was an advocate for human rights and social justice. In 2017, Baker passed away at the age of 65.

Harvey Milk was an American politician and gay-rights activist who was one of the first openly gay elected officials in the United States. According to a Freedom From Religion Foundation article, Milk was very critical of organized religion and did not attend religious services. In one of his recorded wills, Milk said of his funeral: "I hope there are no religious services".

However, according to a Them article, Milk struggled with Judaism growing up and thought that religion in general was peppered with falsehood and hypocrisy. It remained central to his identity, and he actively shared about himself during a time when being Jewish was still derided by general society.

Lillian Faderman, a distinguished scholar of LGBT and ethnic history and literature, wrote that as an adult, Milk rejected the religion in which he’d been brought up but adhered closely to one of its major tenets.

The Colors and their Meanings:

The rainbow flag has six colors, each of which represents a different aspect of the LGBTQ+ community. Here are the meanings of each color:

4. Yellow: Represents sunlight.

5. Green: Represents nature.

6. Turquoise: Represents magic/art.

Critical Citrix ADC and Gateway zero-day exploited by hackers

The Citrix ADC and Gateway contain a zero-day vulnerability (CVE-2022-27518) that state-sponsored hackers actively exploit to gain access to corporate networks. The latest vulnerability authorizes a fictitious attacker to implement commands remotely on vulnerable devices and apprehend them.

As the vulnerability is actively exploited in attacks, Citrix has warned admins to install the latest update at their earliest convenience. Further, the company mentions in the security update going along with the advisory, ” using this vulnerability, a small number of targeted attacks have been detected in the wild.”

The impact of this vulnerability has been seen in the following versions of the Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway:

Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway 13.0 before 13.0-58.32

Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway 12.1 before 12.1-65.25

Citrix ADC 12.1-FIPS before 12.1-55.291

Citrix ADC 12.1-NDcPP before 12.1-55.291

Versions given above are affected only if the appliances are designed as SAML SPs (SAML service providers) or SAML IdPs (SAML identity providers.

Upgrades to Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway version 13.1 address CVE-2022-27518. The ones using older versions need to upgrade to the latest version available for the 12.0(12.1.65.25) or 13.0 branch (13.0.88.16). Other than this, Citrix ADC FIPS and Citrix ADC NDcPP Should also update their versions from 12.1-55.291 or later.

Users of Citrix-managed cloud services do not need to take any action since Citrix has already remedied the issue. In addition, for ADC gadgets and executing the vendor’s security suggestions, system admins are advised to take counsel from Citrix Best Practices.

A state-sponsored hacker exploited the vulnerability

.Citrix has not shared any information about this new vulnerability exploit. The NSA has shared that the state-sponsored APT5 hackers (UNC 2630 and MANGANESE) are actively corrupting the threats in attacks.

ATPT5 was exploiting Citrix devices actively,” tweeted NSA cybersecurity director Rob Joyce. “Their guidance link below will help you identify and remediate this activity.”

An advisory published by the NSA titled “APT5: Citrix ADC Threat Hunting Guidance” provides tips on securing Citrix ADCs and Gateways and detecting if a device has been exploited.

Chinese state-sponsored hackers known as APT5 exploit zero-day vulnerabilities in VPN devices to gain access to sensitive information. APT5 breached the US Defense Industrial Base (DIB) network in 2021 through a zero-day exploit in Pulse Secure VPN devices. The vulnerability is currently only being exploited by APT5, but after it has been disclosed, we expect to see other groups use it shortly.

In the past, hackers took advantage of similar security issues to gain access to corporate networks, use ransomware, and steal data.

The CVE-2019-19781 remote code execution vulnerability was discovered in Citrix ADC and Citrix Gateway in 2019. A ransomware operation, a state-sponsored APT, or an opportunistic attacker can exploit the vulnerability. Due to the widespread abuse, the Dutch government advised companies to turn off their Citrix ADCs and Citrix Gateways until security updates could be applied.

Begadang dan Overthinking

Ada yang akhir-akhir ini lagi punya kebiasaan tidur larut malam bahkan pagi baru tidur, padahal ga ngapa-ngapain? 

Yang lebih menyebalkan adalah entah kenapa semakin ga bisa tidur, semakin larut justru semakin kita memikirkan banyak hal. Sampe akhirnya ga jarang jadi overthinking. Ada yang malah jadi tiba-tiba ngerasa sedih, sebel, kecewa, marah bahkan sampe nangis tengah malem. 

Pernah? 

Sebenarnya itu mungkin terjadi karena kita ga kunjung tidur, padahal ga ada pekerjaan penting sehingga waktu kita senggang dan pikiran liarpun mengambil alih. Terus akhirnya malah jadi manggil-manggil sesuatu yang ga penting sebetulnya untuk dipikirkan.

Menurutmu itu baik engga? Kalau kata hallosehat.com. “overthinking tentu merugikan karena hanya membuang-buang waktu kita saja. Bukan hanya waktu, energi kita juga terkuras dan hal ini juga mencegah kita untuk melakukan banyak hal. Terlalu banyak memikirkan satu hal juga dapat membuat kita terlalu khawatir.”

Terus gimana dong? Kuncinya ya JANGAN BEGADANG. Hilangkan kebiasaan tidur terlalu larut atau kurangi aktivitas ga penting yang bikin kita begadang, misalnya kayak maraton nonton anime atau sibuk stalking doi. Kalau ngerjain tugas, kejar deadline? Yaaa masih gapapa lah.

Soal menghindari kebiasaan begadang ini jadi semakin relevan bagi umat Islam, karena Rasul pernah ngasih tau nih kalau kita sebaiknya segera tidur dan jangan terbiasa begadang.

Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam membenci tidur sebelum isya dan beliau tidak menyukai obrolan setelah isya. (HR. Ahmad, no.19781 dan Ibn Khuzaimah, no.1339)

Prinsipnya, kalau kita ga begadang karena hal yang tidak penting apalagi kalau begadang cuma gulang-guling di kasur sambil buka sosial media, maka kita ga akan ada waktu kosong. Kalau ga ada waktu kosong, pikiran kita auto ga akan kemana-mana. Karena dia ga punya waktu luang buat ngeladenin overthinking kita.
