revisiting the iheart best solo breakout of 2018 is absolutely bananas. what a horrible time that was. while it was a success it felt--and still feels--like it was ultimately a failure bc it didn't get sony to change their minds (part of me fears it was wielded against him to get shitfactor to happen) but i hope it was a vote of confidence for louis himself, at least.

True, agree with all, but he made some good songs at the start, the ones that got the radio coverage.i don't think his relationship with Sony was all that strained or they went after him, 2 1D members was better than one - if he made music that got them air time. He did that - then Walls happened at by that point he knew Walls isn't something Sony would back and it was an amicable split. If Sony was going after him- Just Hold On and Back To You wouldn't have gotten the coverage they did - they don't care about HS or LT, they just care about $$$ ultimately and HS wants to make music that is recieved by a certain group. LT doesn't want to - he wants to follow a different path and that's okay - he's with a label now that allows that. The crux of his problem is that PR team - the shit that gets said about him is other PRs teams doing their jobs, it's his team that should be getting ahead of it. But he seems quite stubborn so unless his label intervens a bit on these festivals going ahead, it'll be hard to push a stronger PR team on him

Just Hold On was promoted by Steve Aoki and released on his Dimak label, not by Sony.

Back To You’s marketing was cut off one month after released, pulled from AllAccess just as it was climbing radio charts.

Just Like You was a personal project. Louis was interviewed by Zane Lowe at BBC (not yet an Apple employee or FSM client) but never released to radio.

Miss You was shut down.

LT0 was killed (by the label? By Louis?).

i don’t really like harry anymore (here come the hate anons i can feel it lmao)

his newer music is not doing it for me, i like some of his first album and a select number of songs off of fine line, but beyond that i don’t really like him. his personality these days is 100% an act and i don’t like that very much. not to mention some of the many shady business decisions he and his team have made in the recent past. additionally he treats his former band mates rather poorly and is friends with people who openly bash them (especially louis who is the loml) so i can’t really stand by that.

the reason i don’t openly and constantly talk shit about harry all the time is because that’s not what i want my blog to be. i want a more positive atmosphere on my blog because i use this as a bit of an escape from the trials and tribulations of real life. (additionally my best friend irl is pretty into harry so i gotta stay out of that mindset a little because i love her more than life itself)

it's wild to me that anyone would even ask why there are so few solo louies because if you've had the misfortune of being around since the ot4 disintegration then you've seen how anyone who cares about his artist career has been pushed out. but the fact that fans were pushed out is exactly why that question is asked. bc his music is so good it makes no sense that his fandom is essentially scraps from other fandoms.

but the fandom was never there for artist louis. larries wanted him to be a the voice coach; hets wanted him to be a family man living in a commune. he is the accessory to whichever dream scenario you have. he can't do festival shows because he's raising his siblings, don't you know? he can't do festival shows because he's hiding from the BTS cameras in jamaica.

i was declared an untouchable ~rad~ because i didn't like harry's pr and "new image" -- but the majority of declared rads didn't even talk about harry. i could list the accounts that were focused on business and were chased off by e**ie with the same lies that live on now, years and years later, with such conviction they could never be convinced otherwise. i hate harry but i have never said or done what these people accuse me of.

anyone declared ~rad~ is excised from the fandom with surgical precision. block them from all UAs and gifmakers, if they participate in any fests, helpful users will join in and WARN PEOPLE of the DEVIL!!

maybe that goes back to the sony slides that emphasise that he is a package deal. but it's gone beyond hets. people who meet him, the stalker fans and others do it with a mission: what did he say about harry? about danielle eleanor freddie briana? what did he look like when he asked? did he smile??? he's a weathervane, and that's what he should be.

i also blame LTHQ, because they've made absolutely zero effort to foster a healthy fanbase based on his own output. from headlines about 'eleanors boyfriend' or 'freddie's dad' -- propaganda works. he's a footnote in other people's stories. and if you challenge that, you are the threat.

it's been enough years now that tired fans tried to wait and make an effort but you can only do so much. especially with an unreceptive hostile fandom, and HQ that would rather have piggyback fans.

"why are there so few solo louies" because fandom follows the leader. and if you don't, you're an island of your own, cut off. you might last a while like so many did, but eventually the returns are too few to be worth it.

that vid of harry saying “i miss u” after singing zayn’s verse of soml truly has me reminiscing... they were just young lads who were friends... in the end the hostility was manufactured by the structures that manipulated them into their pop facades..... they probably just miss their buds who they spent nights in a cabin with, scared shitless that a cow-man was gonna murder them.... and the dumb shit they did for the band like 1d day and the bread van... plus 10 billion other bts memories we have no idea exist.... like poor guys must just miss their buddies sometimes even though they may have errantly posted a heated tweet or acted petty...

Your tags too! I will always have so much love in my heart for One Direction, but I agree, I don't want them back either. Too much has happened and not happened and it's best to leave it at that, even though I do wish we could go back in time and have them end differently (mostly for closure, I think). They were my biggest comfort and obsession! and while I miss them, I don't want to go back. Love that you understand! <3

absolutely! there’s definitely a lot that went down and there’s a lot of healing that would need to happen in order for them to be able to work together again (even if zayn didn’t join (since he doesn’t perform live anymore)). if they were to do a reunion tour i wouldn’t want it to be for another few years at least, and i’d want it to be entirely on their own terms
