2 Corinthians 13, Reed's Version
This will be my third visit. As they say, “Every matter is to be settled by the testimony of two or three witnesses.” I told you during my second visit, and I’ll remind you of it again: when I come visit you, I will not go easy on those who have have continued to wallow in sin or on those who have excused such sin. That should appease your demand for proof that Christ really speaks through me. His power has always accompanied my preaching; he has never been mild with you. True, he was at the depth of weakness when he was crucified, but now he is at the height of power at God’s side. We live with Christ and so share not only his weakness but also his power to deal with you.
It’s not me who needs proving but you! Test yourselves to see if you still hold to the Christian faith. You can recognize that Jesus Christ lives within you, can’t you? Unless of course you’ve failed the test. But I hope you will recognize that we ourselves do pass that test. Now my prayer to God is that you commit no more evil. Not because of how it reflects on us; we just want you to do what’s right, even if we don’t get any credit. You see, we can’t do anything that’s contrary to Christian truth, only what aligns with it. So we rejoice when we are weak yet you are strong! And that’s what we pray for: you being fully revitalized. That’s why I’m writing like this when I’m away, so that when I come I won’t have to be harsh in exercising my authority, which the Lord entrusted to me to be constructive and not destructive.
Finally, my brothers and sisters, be joyful! Mend your ways, comfort one another, be of one mind, be at peace; the God of love and peace will be with you all. Greet one another with a Christian kiss. All of God’s people here send their greetings. May grace from Jesus Christ and love from God and community from the Holy Spirit be with all of you.

Meditation: What is God's intention for the commandment, keep holy the Sabbath (Exodus 20:8; Deuteronomy 5:12)? The scribes and Pharisees wanted to catch Jesus in the act of breaking the Sabbath ritual so they might accuse him of breaking God's law. In a few penetrating words Mark the Evangelist records that Jesus looked at them with anger, and grieved at their hardness of hearts (Mark 3:5).
God's purpose and intention for the Sabbath commandment
The legal scholars and religious-minded Jews were filled with fury and contempt for Jesus because they put their own thoughts of right and wrong above God. They were ensnared in their own legalism because they did not understand or see the purpose of God for the Sabbath commandment (remember the Sabbath day - to keep it holy - Exodus 20:8).. Jesus shows their fallacy by pointing to God's intention for the Sabbath: to do good and to save life rather than to do evil or to destroy life (Mark 3:3).
Commemorating Christ's resurrection and work of redemption on the Lord's Day
Since the time of the first Apostles, Christians have traditionally celebrated Sunday as the Lord's Day (Revelation 1:10; Acts 20:7; Luke 24:30; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2) to worship together around the table of the Lord (the Eucharist or Lord's Supper) and to commemorate God's work of redemption in Jesus Christ and the new work of creation accomplished through Christ's death and resurrection.
Taking "our sabbath rest" is a way of expressing honor to God for all that he has done for us in and through Jesus Christ our Lord and Redeemer. Such "rest" however does not exempt us from our love for our neighbor. If we truly love the Lord above all else, then the love of God will overflow to love of neighbor as well. Do you honor the Lord in the way you celebrate Sunday, the Lord's Day and in the way you treat you neighbor?
"Lord Jesus, in your victory over sin and death on the cross and in your resurrection you give us the assurance of sharing in the eternal rest of heaven. Transform my heart with your love that I may freely serve my neighbor for his good and find joy and refreshment in the celebration of Sunday as the Lord's Day."

how we became priests
“You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.” — Psalm 110:4; Hebrews 7:17
Like almost all peoples throughout history, the Jewish people believed that sacrifice was one of the essential elements for dealing with sin and setting humanity free (see Lv 4:13-14). The person who offers sacrifices to God on behalf of the people is called a priest. Thus, priests are an essential part of God’s plan of salvation. Consequently, because Jesus is the Savior of the world, He must be a priest. For the Jews, all priests descended from the tribe of Levi. Yet Jesus was from the tribe of Judah. How can Jesus be a priest?
In the book of Genesis, we hear about the priest Melchizedek (Gn 14:18-20). He was a priest before there were the tribes of Israel. He was a mysterious figure “without father, mother or ancestry, without beginning of days or end of life” (Heb 7:3). The psalmist prophesied that Melchizedek’s priesthood would continue (Ps 110:4). The writer of the book of Hebrews proclaimed that Jesus is a priest in the order of Melchizedek. Jesus sacrificed Himself on the altar of the cross. He is truly the Savior of the world, and we who are baptized into Him share in His priesthood (see Catechism of the Catholic Church, 1546;1 Pt 2:9; Rv 5:10). Through our Baptism “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit” (Mt 28:19), we are priests in the order of Melchizedek. Alleluia!
Prayer:  Father, may I live my baptismal priesthood to the full. I offer You my body as a living sacrifice (Rm 12:1).
Promise:  “Then He said to the man, ‘Stretch out your hand.’ The man did so and his hand was perfectly restored.” —Mk 3:5
Praise:  “May my mouth speak the praise of the Lord, and may all flesh bless His holy name forever and ever” (Ps 145:21).

Because we understand our fearful responsibility to the Lord, we work hard to persuade others. God knows we are sincere, and I hope you know this, too. Are we commending ourselves to you again? No, we are giving you a reason to be proud of us, so you can answer those who brag about having a spectacular ministry rather than having a sincere heart. If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Either way, Christ’s love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them. So we have stopped evaluating others from a human point of view. At one time we thought of Christ merely from a human point of view. How differently we know him now! This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:11‭-‬21 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/2co.5.11-21.NLT #rv #rvlife #rvliving #believe #camping #livinginanrv #rvtravel #ourcrazyrvlife #rvfulltime #fulltimerving #Christian #blessings #lifeontheroad #rvadventures #rvlivingfulltime  #rvcamping  #traveltrailerlife #rvcouple #prayer #love #faith #rvlifestyle #dogs #dog #dogsofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/Cm3s6YkuAjd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

TOP ADMINISTRATORS
“Men should regard us as servants of Christ and administrators of the mysteries of God.” —1 Corinthians 4:1
Are you a trustworthy administrator of the mysteries of God? Do you believe:
1)      Jesus died on the cross for us and gives us a new nature through Baptism into His death? (Rm 6:3)
2)      We can live a new life by faith in Jesus? (2 Cor 5:17)
3)      We can be filled with the Holy Spirit, God Himself? (Eph 5:18)
4)      The Church is the Body of Christ? (Rm 12:5)
5)      The Bible is the Word of God? (2 Tm 3:16)
6)      We can be forgiven of our sins by repentance and Confession? (1 Jn 1:9; cf Jn 20:23)
7)      We receive the Body and Blood of Jesus in Holy Communion? (Mt 26:26-28; Jn 6:51-58; 1 Cor 11:23-29)
8)      Jesus heals the sick? (Acts 10:38)
9)      The Lord inseparably joins together a man and woman in marriage? (Mt 19:5-6; Eph 5:31; 1 Cor 7:10-11)
10) We will rise from the dead? (1 Cor 15:22)
11) Jesus will return to judge us all? (Rv 22:12)
12) We can live with God forever in heaven? (1 Pt 1:4)
These are but a few of the mysteries of God. If you believe them, you are among the richest people on earth. We must “prove trustworthy” (1 Cor 4:2) in sharing, teaching, and ministering these mysteries to others.
Prayer:  Father, may I share the precious pearl of Your kingdom (see Mt 13:46).
Promise:  “But when the days come that the Groom is removed from their midst, they will surely fast in those days.” —Lk 5:35
Praise:  John is a faithful husband, loving father and ministering deacon, pouring out his life in love for the Lord.

Meditation: Why did Jesus offer himself as "food and drink"? The Jews were scandalized and the disciples were divided when Jesus said "unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you." What a hard saying, unless you understand who Jesus is and why he calls himself the bread of life. The miracle of the multiplication of the loaves (John 6:3-13), when Jesus said the blessing, broke and distributed the loaves through his disciples to feed the multitude, is a sign that prefigured the superabundance of the unique bread of the Eucharist, or Lord's Supper. The Gospel of John has no account of the Last Supper meal (just the foot washing ceremony and Jesus' farewell discourse). Instead, John quotes extensively from Jesus' teaching on the bread of life.
In the Old Covenant bread and wine were offered in a thanksgiving sacrifice as a sign of grateful acknowledgment to the Creator as the giver and sustainer of life. Melchizedek, who was both a priest and king (Genesis 14:18; Hebrews 7:1-4), offered a sacrifice of bread and wine. His offering prefigured the offering made by Jesus, our high priest and king (Hebrews 7:26; 9:11; 10:12). The remembrance of the manna in the wilderness recalled to the people of Israel that they live - not by earthly bread alone - but by the bread of the Word of God (Deuteronomy 8:3).
Jesus made himself a perfect offering and sacrifice to God on our behalf
At the last supper when Jesus blessed the cup of wine, he gave it to his disciples saying, "Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" (Matthew 26:28). Jesus was pointing to the sacrifice he was about to make on the cross, when he would shed his blood for us - thus pouring himself out and giving himself to us - as an atoning sacrifice for our sins and the sins of the world. His death on the cross fulfilled the sacrifice of the paschal (passover) lamb whose blood spared the Israelites from death in Egypt.
the Apostle tells us that "Christ, our paschal lamb, has been sacrificed" (1 Corinthians 5:7). Paul echoes the words of John the Baptist who called Jesus the "Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world" (John 1:29).Jesus made himself an offering and sacrifice, a gift that was truly pleasing to the Father. He "offered himself without blemish to God" (Hebrews 9:14) and "gave himself as a sacrifice to God" (Ephesians 5:2).
The Lord Jesus sustains us with the life-giving bread of heaven
Jesus chose the time of the Jewish Feast of Passover to fulfill what he had announced at Capernaum - giving his disciples his body and his blood as the true bread of heaven. Jesus' passing over to his Father by his death and resurrection - the new passover - is anticipated in the Last Supper and celebrated in the Eucharist or Lord's Supper, which fulfills the Jewish Passover and anticipates the final Passover of the church in the glory of God's kingdom. When the Lord Jesus commands his disciples to eat his flesh and drink his blood, he invites us to take his life into the very center of our being. That life which he offers is the very life of God himself. Do you hunger for the bread of life?
"Lord Jesus, you nourish and sustain us with your very own presence and life-giving word. You are the bread of life - the heavenly food that sustains us now and that produces everlasting life within us. May I always hunger for you and be satisfied in you alone."

MARY, CAUSE OF OUR JOY
“My spirit finds joy in God my Savior.” —Luke 1:47
The well-known prayer, “Litany of the Blessed Virgin,” addresses Mary as the “cause of our joy.” This title of Mary is most appropriate for today’s feast of her Assumption into heaven.
Mary’s entire being found joy in the Lord (Lk 1:46). She spread that joy to others, even Elizabeth’s unborn baby, John, who leapt “for joy” at the sound of Mary’s voice as she carried Jesus in her womb, into their home (Lk 1:44). Mary was also present in the upper room at Pentecost (see Acts 1:14ff) and surely exulted with joy as her Spouse, the Holy Spirit, filled the apostles, who then brought three thousand people into the Church.
Finally, Mary “was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 966). “She already shares in the glory of her Son’s Resurrection, anticipating the resurrection of all members of His Body” (Catechism, 974). She has been “exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things, so that she might be the more fully conformed to her Son” (Catechism, 966). Her Assumption is a sign of sure hope (Lumen Gentium, 68, Vatican II) that Jesus will raise us up to rejoice with Him forever.
The Lord in His Word commands us to rejoice with Mary as she is honored today. Since Mary “is honored, all the members share [her] joy” (1 Cor 12:26). We are to “rejoice with” her (Rm 12:15). Mary would be the first to proclaim: “Rejoice in the Lord always! I say it again. Rejoice!” (Phil 4:4) Rejoice with Mary.
Prayer:  Holy Spirit, some Christians respond to the joy of Your spouse, Mary, with disdain. Convert their frowns into smiles of joy today.
Promise:  “God’s temple in heaven opened and, in the temple, could be seen the ark of His covenant.”—Rv 11:19
Praise:  “Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ‘Now have salvation and power come, the reign of our God and the authority of His Anointed One’ ” (Rv 12:10).

Through our Lord... Or: O God, who were pleased to call your Church the Bride, grant that the people that serve your name may revere you, love you and follow you, and may be led by you to attain your promises in heaven. Through our Lord...
FIRST READING
I saw water running from the temple, and all those to whom the water came were saved” (Ant. Vidi aquam). A reading from the Book of the Prophet Ezekiel (Ezekiel 47: 1-2.8-9.12) (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); In those days: The angel brought me back to the door of the temple; and behold, water was issuing from below the threshold of the temple towards the east (for the temple faced east); and the water was flowing down from below the right side of the threshold of the temple, south of the altar. Then he brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me round on the outside to the outer gate, that faces towards the east; and the water was coming out on the right side. And he said to me, “This water flows towards the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah; and when it enters the stagnant waters of the sea, the water will become fresh. And wherever the river goes, every living creature which swarms will live, and there will be very many fish; for this water goes there, that the waters of the sea may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes. “And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing. The word of the Lord.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM Psalm 46:2-3.5-6.8-9 (R.5)
R. The waters of a river give joy to God’s city, the holy place, the dwelling of the Most High. God is for us a refuge and strength, An ever-present help in time of distress: So we shall not fear though the earth should rock, though the mountains quake to the heart of the sea. R. The waters of a river give joy to God’s city, The holy place, the dwelling of the Most High. God is within, it cannot be shaken; God will help it at the dawning of the day. R. The Lord of hosts is with us: The God of Jacob is our stronghold. Come and behold the works of the Lord, The awesome deeds he has done on the earth. R.
SECOND READING
A reading from the first Letter of Saint Paul to the Corinthians (I Corinthians 3:9c-11.16-17) You are God’s temple. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Brethren: You are God’s building. According to the commission of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and another man is building upon it. Let each man take care how he builds upon it. For no other foundation can any one lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? If any one destroys God’s temple, God will destroy him. For God’s temple is holy, and that temple you are. The word of the Lord.
ALLELUIA 2 Chronicles 7:16
Alleluia. I have chosen and consecrated this house, says the Lord, that my name may be there for ever. Alleluia.
GOSPEL
He spoke of the temple of his body. A reading from the holy Gospel according to John (John 2:13-22) The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; you shall not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” The Jews then said to him, “What sign have you to show us for doing this?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. The Gospel of the Lord. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Today’s Reflection
When Jesus spoke about destroying the temple of his body, the Jews misunderstood it to be the physical temple. The church celebrates the dedication of St John Lateran Basilica because it was the first of all the churches in the world to be built. The church operated for about 300 years without any church building. Fanta, the wife of Emperor Constantine, gave her Lateran palace to Pope St Miltiades. Pope St Sylvester consecrated it on 9 November 324 AD. This was the first public consecration of a church. Afterwards, it became the residence of the popes and venue of many ecumenical councils. In the gospel of today, we have the incident of Jesus cleansing the Temple of Jerusalem. We should keep our body, holy, pure and cleansed of all sin because our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. The Lateran Basilica, built by the Emperor Constantine on the Lateran Hill around the year 320, is the cathedral of the Pope who is the Bishop of Rome. This Basilica, dedicated to the Saviour, to Saint John the Baptist and to Saint John the Evangelist, is considered the Mother of all the Churches. The feast of its dedication reminds us of our calling to live in deep communion with the successor of Peter, the rock on which Jesus built his Church, and the one who confirms us in our faith.
Blessing for the New Week
Thank you Jesus for the gift of today. It has pleased you to give it to me and my friends. May your name be praised both now and forever. Amen. May your grace accompany us as we go out, work and do our businesses. Be with us always and help us to overcome every challenge we may face. Give us a generous heart that will always think of the good of others and work to help them grow in their faith commitment to you. Protect us from every evil and may your presence around us ward off every attack of the evil one. May our efforts today not be a waste, but through your grace may we be fruitful and may we have testimonies to share at the end of the day. My dear friend, cheer up go out with confidence, put in your best, share love and kindness and may God help you to succeed, with God by my side I will succeed! Amen. Do have a fantastic day and week ahead. God is in charge, no need to be afraid for he will take care of you. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Bless my new week Lord and let all I do praise your holy name! Amen.
Personal Devotional
Prayer of St. Pio of Pietrelcina
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have you present so that I do not forget you, you know how easily I abandon you. Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak, and I need your strength, that I may not fall so often, stay with me, Lord, for you are my life, and without you, I am without fervor. Stay with me, Lord, for you are my light, and without you, I am in darkness. Stay with me, Lord, to show me your will. Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love you very much, and always be in your company. Stay with me, Lord, if you wish me to be faithful to you. Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I want it to be a place of consolation for you, a nest of love. Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late and the day is coming to a close, and life passes; death, judgment, eternity approaches. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need you. It is getting late and death approaches, I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need you, my Jesus, in this night of exile! Stay with me tonight, Jesus, in life with all its dangers. I need you. Let me recognize you as your disciples did at the breaking of the bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the Light which disperses the darkness, the force which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart. Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to remain united to you, if not by communion, at least by grace and love. Stay with me, Jesus, I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not merit it, but the gift of your presence, oh yes, I ask this of you! Stay with me, Lord, for it is you alone I look for, your love, your Grace, your Will, your Heart, your Spirit, because I love you and ask no other reward but to love you more and more. With a firm love, I will love you with all my heart while on earth and continue to love you perfectly during all eternity. Amen. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});

"My fear is that, just as the serpent seduced Eve by his cunning, your thoughts may be corrupted and you may fall away from your sincere and complete devotion to Christ." –2 Corinthians 11:3 Most American Catholics who have registered in a parish are "fallen away" from fulfilling the obligation of attending Mass on every Sunday and Holy Day. Furthermore, how many are fallen away from meeting the standard that Paul enunciated? Paul was fearful that the "chaste virgin" church of Corinth would "fall away" from their "sincere and complete devotion to Christ" (2 Cor 11:2, 3). Moreover, if we love Christ less than we previously did, we are fallen away from our earlier love. If we love Him less than when we first loved Him, we have lost our first love (Rv 2:4). We are lukewarm and are nauseating to the Lord (Rv 3:16). If we are "fallen away" in any way, we are in danger. A relationship where love is lessening is in trouble. If we love the Lord less, we are not loving Him with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength (Mt 22:37). Thus, we are not obeying the first of all the commandments and the basis for the Law and the prophets (Mt 22:40). Let us repent, renew our baptismal covenant, go to Confession, and return immediately to our "sincere and complete devotion to Christ" (2 Cor 11:3). PRAYER: Father, You are Love (1 Jn 4:8, 16). May I never love You less and continue to love You more forever. PROMISE: "This is how you are to pray: 'Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.' " –Mt 6:9. PRAISE: St. Paulinus changed his life when his wife and only child died, and he pursued ordination at age thirty-nine.

We are finding it very hard to find a place to live. No place to park even our RV to live in. I can't sleep, im feeling sick with worry. Lord no prayer is to big or to small for you to hear. You hear... All of God's promises are "yes" in Christ! Through Christ, we give glory to God by saying "Amen." 2 Corinthians 1:20 #prayerchain

2 Corinthians 12, Reed's Version
I don’t like to brag, but you’ve left me no choice, so I’ll go on to recount my visions and revelations from the Lord. I know of a Christian man who, fourteen years ago, was taken up to the third level of heaven — whether he was taken there physically or in a vision, I’m not sure; only God knows. Anyway, I know that this man was taken up into Paradise — whether physically or otherwise, I’m not sure; only God knows — and while there he was told unspeakable truths that no human is allowed to repeat. I will brag about this experience, but I won’t brag about any human thing, except my vulnerabilities. If I were to brag about that experience, it wouldn’t be foolishness but just stating the truth of what happened. But I’ll restrain myself, because I only want to be evaluated on the basis of my speech and conduct, not on the basis of these exceptional revelations. And that’s the reason why I was given a splinter in my side, an angel of Satan who torments me — this keeps me from getting conceited. Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away from me. But He has spoken. “My gracious provision will be enough,” He says, “because My power is strongest when you are weakest.” So I will happily brag even more in my weaknesses, since they allow God’s power to live in me. Now I delight in weakness, in slander, in hardships, in persecution and distress — if they are for Christ’s sake. It’s when I am weak that I am strong.
I’ve made a fool of myself; you drove me to it. Here I am, bragging to endorse myself, while you ought to be the ones endorsing me! Even though I’m a nobody, I’m not less than those “super awesome preachers.” I patiently demonstrated all the marks of a true delegate of Christ with wondrous signs and miracles. So how is it that you say you’re worse off than other churches? Because I didn’t demand payment for my preaching? Oh forgive me this offense!
Look, I’m getting ready to come visit you for the third time, and I will continue to refuse payment. I don’t want your money — I want you. Children aren’t supposed to save up money for their parents, but vice versa. I will happily spend and be spent for your spiritual benefit. So if this is how much I love you, why should I be loved less in return? If we agree that I didn’t extort you myself, then I must have duped you through others, devious fellow that I am! It must have been one of the men I sent. Were you swindled by any one of them? When I sent Titus and our brother, did Titus swindle you? No! He and I are led by the same Spirit, aren’t we? And we conduct ourselves by the same standards, don’t we?
Have you thought all this time that we’ve been justifying ourselves? No, everything we’ve said, dear friends — before God, in Christ — has been to build you up. But I worry that when I come I’ll find things not as I’d hoped, and you’ll find me not as you’d hoped. What I hope is that no one is still engaged in rivalry, jealousy, anger, selfishness, verbal abuse, gossip, pride or disorderliness. If those things are still going on when I arrive, I’ll be humiliated by God in front of you, mourning over everyone who had sinned but not yet turned from their immorality, sexual sin, and self-indulgence which they used to engage in.

Meditation: John calls Jesus the Lamb of God and thus signifies Jesus' mission as the One who redeems us from our sins. The blood of the Passover Lamb (Exodus 12) delivered the Israelites in Egypt from slavery and death. The Lord Jesus freely offered up his life for us on the cross as the atoning sacrifice for our sins (1 Corinthians 5:7). The blood which he poured out for us on the cross cleanses, heals, and frees us from our slavery to sin, and from the "wages of sin which is death" (Romans 6:23) and the "destruction of both body and soul in hell" (Matthew 10:28).
John points to Jesus' saving mission - to offer up his life as the atoning sacrifice for our sins
It is significant that John was the son of Zachariah, a priest of Israel who participated in the daily sacrifice of a lamb in the temple for the sins of the people (Exodus 29). John recognized that Jesus was the perfect unblemished lamb offered by the Father in heaven as the one and only sacrifice that could cancel the debt of sin, and free us from death and the destruction of body and soul in hell.
The Holy Spirit reveals who Jesus truly is - the Son of God and Savior of the world
When John says he did not know Jesus (John 1:31,33) he was referring to the hidden reality of Jesus' divinity. But the Holy Spirit in that hour revealed to John Jesus' true nature, such that John bore witness that this is the Son of God. How can we be certain that Jesus is truly the Christ, the Son of the living God? The Holy Spirit makes the Lord Jesus Christ known to us through the gift of faith. God gives us his Spirit as our helper and guide who opens our hearts and minds to receive and comprehend the great mystery and plan of God - to unite all things in his Son, our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:10).
Do you want to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ? Ask the Lord to pour his Holy Spirit upon you to deepen your faith, hope, and love for God and for the plan he has for your life.
"Lord Jesus Christ, fill me with the power of your Holy Spirit and let me grow in the knowledge of your great love and truth. Let your Spirit be aflame in my heart that I may know and love you more fervently and strive to do your will in all things."

baptized in the spirit
“It is He Who is to baptize with the Holy Spirit.” —John 1:33
Many people talk about being “baptized in the Spirit.” By this, they usually mean having a renewal of their life in the Spirit. However, the Bible considers being baptized in the Spirit to be the same as being baptized, and not a renewal of life in the Spirit. Thus, many people use the phrase, “baptized in the Spirit,” in an un-Biblical way.
Although these people are wrongly using biblical terminology, they are “correct” pastorally. We have a great need to renew our being baptized in the Spirit. Through sin and selfishness, many baptized people have stifled (1 Thes 5:19) and saddened the Holy Spirit (Eph 4:30). If we are to live the Christian life as the Lord intended it to be lived, we must stir into flame the gift of the Holy Spirit (2 Tm 1:6-7).
Today’s Scriptural readings invite us to renew our life in the Spirit. Look at Jesus, the Lamb of God (Jn 1:29). Let Him free you as He freed the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. Let Him take away your sins and the sins of the world (Jn 1:29). “Follow the Lamb wherever He goes”; be pure and uncompromising with the ways of the world (see Rv 14:4). Receive a renewal of being baptized in the Spirit today.
Prayer:  Father, may I want the Spirit as much as I want to breathe. Revive the graces of my Baptism and Confirmation.
Promise:  “I will make you a light to the nations, that My salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” —Is 49:6
Praise:  “I will proclaim Your name to my brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise You” (Ps 22:23). Risen Jesus, You are worthy of our praise.

The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away. Shouldn’t we expect far greater glory under the new way, now that the Holy Spirit is giving life? If the old way, which brings condemnation, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new way, which makes us right with God! In fact, that first glory was not glorious at all compared with the overwhelming glory of the new way. So if the old way, which has been replaced, was glorious, how much more glorious is the new, which remains forever! Since this new way gives us such confidence, we can be very bold. We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. 2 Corinthians 3:7‭-‬18 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/2co.3.7-18.NLT #rv #rvlife #rvliving #believe #camping #livinginanrv #rvtravel #ourcrazyrvlife #rvfulltime #fulltimerving #Christian #blessings #lifeontheroad #rvadventures #rvlivingfulltime  #rvcamping  #traveltrailerlife #rvcouple #prayer #love #faith #rvlifestyle #dogs #dog #dogsofinstagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CmrJ2i3OHCx/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

A CONVINCED CHRISTIAN
“The love of Christ impels us who have reached the conviction that since One died for all, all died.” —2 Corinthians 5:14
When we have reached the conviction that since One died for all, all died, three things happen:We no longer live for ourselves but for Him Who died for us (2 Cor 5:15). We no longer look on anyone, including Jesus, “in terms of mere human judgment” (2 Cor 5:16). We are impelled by love rather than motivated by a mixture of fear, pride, and pressure (2 Cor 5:14). Obviously, reaching this conviction of Jesus’ death and our death with Him is one of the most important breakthroughs in a person’s life. Every Christian should have this realization, but clearly many do not, or we would live no longer for ourselves.Right now, ask the Holy Spirit to take you to the cross. Through the cross, the world will be crucified to you and you to the world (Gal 6:14). The Spirit will confirm, as only He can, that we who have given our lives to the Lord have been crucified with Him (Rm 6:6) and thereby have crucified our flesh with its passions and desires (Gal 5:24). We can “reach this conviction” only by the Spirit. When we do, we become a Christian not only in name but in attitude, motivation, and goals. We live no longer for self but for Jesus.
Prayer:  Holy Spirit, take me to Calvary and convince me.
Promise:  Jesus “awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea: ‘Quiet! Be still!’ The wind fell off and everything grew calm.” —Mk 4:39
Praise:  “Remain faithful until death and I will give you the crown of life” (see Rv 2:10). Praise You, risen Lord Jesus. Your Resurrection provides hope for our future resurrection.

Meditation: How can we fight fear with faith? Jesus' sleeping presence on the storm-tossed sea reveals the sleeping faith of his disciples. They feared for their lives even though their Lord and Master was with them in the boat. They were asleep to Christ while he was present to them in their hour of need. The Lord Jesus is ever present to us. And in our time of testing he asks the same question: Why are you afraid? Have you no faith? Do you recognize the Lord's presence with you, especially when you meet the storms of adversity, sorrow, and temptation? Whenever we encounter trouble, the Lord is there with the same reassuring message: "It is I, do not be afraid."
Faith must be nourished with the Word of God
What are the characteristics of faith and how can we grow in it? Faith is an entirely free gift that God makes to us. Believing is only possible by grace and the help of the Holy Spirit, who moves the heart and who opens the eyes of the mind to understand and accept the truth which God has revealed to us. Faith enables us to relate to God rightly and confidently, with trust and reliance, by believing and adhering to his word, because he is utterly reliable and trustworthy. If we want to live, grow, and persevere in faith, then it must be nourished with the word of God.
Christ's love and truth strengthen us in faith and trust
Fear does not need to cripple us from taking right action or rob us of our trust and reliance on God. Courage working with faith enables us to embrace God's word of truth and love with confidence and to act on it with firm hope in God's promises. The love of God strengthens us in our faith and trust in him and enables us to act with justice and kindness towards our neighbor even in the face of opposition or harm. Do you allow the love of Christ to rule in your heart and mind, and to move your will to choose what is good in accordance with his will?
"Lord Jesus, increase my faith in your redeeming love and power that I may always recognize your abiding presence with me. And give me courage to do your will in all circumstances."

I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to minister to the men sheltered at the Union Gospel Mission Dallas on the 4th Friday of every month. Every month, our team of volunteers gladly give of their time, treasure, and talents to give hope to the lost, the last, the least, and the lonely.
The Union Gospel Mission began as a street ministry in 1949 when a group of Christian businessmen took to the streets of Dallas, telling the poor about God’s love for them. Each year, hundreds of men enter UGMD’s long-term, faith-based recovery program.
Each year the Union Gospel Mission provides 127,482+ nights of shelter, cooks 410,738 meals, helps 4500 people, and  serves over 400 veterans. Through the nightly chapel services, hundreds of men come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and receive the gift of eternal salvation throughout the year.
The mission’s discipleship program is designed to help people end their personal struggles with homelessness, first by establishing and nurturing a relationship with Jesus Christ, then by learning the skills necessary to re-enter society and live an independent life. This process includes graduating from the Mission’s Learning Center, obtaining a job and, in the final phase, living in a transitional living facility. Prior to graduation from the program, each disciple must be involved with a local church, have a savings account, hold a job and be living independently. The Discipleship Program is self-paced, and usually takes between eighteen months and two years to complete (UGM, 2018).
Each time we journey down to the shelter, our team is blessed. Ministering to someone else seems to always return with even greater blessing on those sharing the love of Jesus with those in need.
31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left.34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’  Matthew 25:31-40 (ESV)
There is a lot of talk about how to solve homelessness. I’m not sure we will ever eradicate it from our midst. There is just as much talk about what causes homelessness, including attempts to blame the poor for being poor. At the end of the day, our mission focuses on having a conversation about the One we know who transforms lives. A change of heart and a transformation of the mind must occur, otherwise you can build all the houses you want only to find yourself back at square one. Yes, affordable housing is certainly part of the solution. But so are changes in decision-making, problem solving, and overcoming hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Even so, those living on the marginalized edge can easily fall prey to a freak event of nature or devastating medical issue that they are unable to overcome. When a tornado or hurricane wipes out your home, it’s not a matter of character, but circumstance. If an unexpected onslaught of medical bills override your ability to keep your head above water, it’s not an indictment of your decision-making, but a result of a tidal wave of overpowering events that leave you, and your family, devastated.
Romans 12:1-2Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God-this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.

2 Corinthians 5:17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!
Trust me. No one grew up wanting to be homeless.
Sure, there can be other problems. Like our veterans unable to cope with life after war due to PTSD and not having the resources available to them to provide the help they desperately need. Think about it–someone went off to war so we could continue enjoying our freedoms only to return and be without a home. That’s not on them. That’s on us.
And yes, there are many who struggle with addiction and who struggle with issues of character. So do many of us. Yet, we aren’t homeless. Not because we are smarter or stronger, but because our support system is better. And, truthfully, simply because of God’s grace.
Ephesians 2:8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
When go down to the shelter, we don’t attempt to solve every problem and we certainly aren’t under any illusion that we will solve homelessness or eliminate the scourge of poverty. The poor, Scripture teaches us, have always been with us.
No, when we go we focus on providing love, hope, and faith to the 300+ men we meet every month at the shelter. We seek to suspend the noise of the world and exchange it for the sounds of worship as we sing songs exalting an almighty, all-powerful God. We strive to feed their souls through sharing the Word of God, reassuring them they are neither forgotten nor forsaken. We attempt to cover them in prayer, ending each service with intentional, one-on-one prayer. Many of the men come forward to express their needs and lay their burdens at God’s feet. Occasionally, the Spirit moves in the hearts of certain men to receive Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. O, what a glorious moment that is!
Our team of sojourners loves these men and witnessing the work the Lord is doing in their lives. Through it all, we try to be ourselves, genuine and authentic, cherishing every moment that we get to spend sharing the Good News with the men of Union Gospel Mission Dallas. What a privilege! What a joy!
God is good all the time and all the time God is good!
