Hi everyone! My sister is looking to create a sustainable life for herself as a person with a chronic illness. To lower her monthly costs and widen her scope of places to live (she spends 95% of her time at home to take care of herself), she's wants to live in an RV! Please check out the link for more info and consider donating to a worthy cause!!!❤️ 👍🏾🚙🏡

A Step-by-Step Guide: Connecting a Water Hose to Your RV for Beginners
Tumblr media
Embarking on a memorable RV adventure in Michigan requires proper maintenance and understanding of essential tasks, such as connecting a water hose to your RV. As a beginner, you might feel overwhelmed by the process, but fear not! In this step-by-step guide, we'll walk you through the easy and essential steps to connect a water hose to your RV. For any complex maintenance tasks, remember to seek the expertise of professional RV camper maintenance services in Michigan to ensure a smooth and enjoyable journey.
Step 1: Gather the Necessary Equipment
Before you begin, make sure you have the required equipment on hand. You'll need a potable water hose specifically designed for RV use. These hoses are typically made of safe materials that won't impart any undesirable taste or smell to your water supply. Ensure that the hose length is sufficient to reach the campground's water source without any strain.
Step 2: Turn off the RV's Water Pump
Before connecting the external water source, turn off the RV's water pump to avoid any complications during the connection process. The water pump should be switched to the "OFF" position to prevent any accidental flooding inside the RV.
Step 3: Locate the RV's Water Inlet
Find the water inlet on the exterior of your RV. It is usually marked with a "city water" label and can be found on the side of the vehicle. The inlet may have a cap covering it to protect it from dirt and debris.
Step 4: Connect the Water Hose to the RV
Carefully remove the cap from the water inlet, and then attach the female end of your water hose to the RV's water inlet. Twist it clockwise until it's securely fastened, ensuring a leak-free connection.
Step 5: Connect the Other End to the Campground's Water Supply
Now that the water hose is securely connected to your RV, it's time to attach the other end to the campground's water supply. Locate the water hookup at your campsite and connect the male end of the water hose to the campground's water spigot. Again, twist it clockwise until you have a tight and leak-free connection.
Step 6: Turn on the Water Supply
With both ends of the water hose securely connected, it's time to turn on the campground's water supply. Slowly open the water spigot to allow the water to flow into your RV's water system.
Step 7: Check for Leaks and Water Flow
After turning on the water supply, check the hose connections for any signs of leaks. Look for dripping water or wet areas around the connections. If you notice any leaks, turn off the water supply immediately and reevaluate the connections.
Step 8: Prime the Water System
To remove any air bubbles and ensure a consistent water flow, turn on the faucets inside your RV and let the water run for a few minutes. This process will help prime the water system and ensure smooth water circulation.
Conclusion
Connecting a water hose to your RV is a vital skill every RV enthusiast should master. By following this step-by-step guide, even beginners can confidently hook up their RVs to a campground's water supply. Remember to always use a potable water hose designed for RV use, and if you encounter any challenges or require more complex maintenance tasks, don't hesitate to seek the assistance of professional RV camper maintenance services in Michigan. With a properly connected water supply, you'll be all set to enjoy a comfortable and refreshing stay during your Michigan RV adventures.

Embracing Spontaneity in Your Travel Plans: The Benefits of Being Flexible
While planning ahead is important, leaving some room for spontaneity in your travel plans can lead to unexpected adventures and unforgettable experiences. Here are some benefits of being flexible and embracing spontaneity during your travels:
Discover hidden gems: When you're not bound by a strict itinerary, you have the freedom to explore off-the-beaten-path destinations and discover hidden gems that you might not have found otherwise.
Meet new people: Being open to spontaneity can lead to meeting new people and making new friends. You might strike up a conversation with a local, join a tour group, or find a fellow traveler to explore with.
Be present in the moment: When you're not constantly thinking about your next scheduled activity, you can focus on being present in the moment and truly savoring your travel experience.
Flexibility for unexpected circumstances: Unexpected circumstances such as bad weather or canceled flights can disrupt even the most carefully planned itinerary. By being flexible and open to changing plans, you'll be able to adapt to these situations and make the most of your travel experience.
Create unforgettable memories: Spontaneous experiences often make for the most memorable travel moments. Whether it's stumbling upon a local festival or taking a spontaneous hike, these unplanned adventures can become some of the highlights of your trip.
So why not leave some room for spontaneity in your travel plans? Be open to unexpected experiences and embrace the unknown. You might just discover something new and unforgettable.

A friend told me recently that she wished I could have a break - not a two-week break from chemo, like I’m on now, which I have thoroughly enjoyed - but a *real* break. A break from cancer. * I responded that I’ve been on a break for almost two years! I’ve been stupendously lucky since I got my prognosis of imminent death. I had the time, the support, the money, and most of all, the health and the physical ability to travel all over this country for the last two years. Most of that time I was in remission. Most of it I had very little pain. * I had an amazing two years in the road. I danced at my college roommate’s wedding last summer. I went to Yosemite with my brother. I camped over 4th of July with my dad. I went to the annual #diadelosmuertos festival that my sister organizes every year in Houston. I met cousins I had never seen and met kids of my friends who I’ve only known through social media. I saw many friends I haven’t seen since college. * In short, I had my break already, and I got everything out of it that I possibly could. I wasted no time. I knew the day would come - and could come at anytime - when remission would be over and my tumors would be back. I knew eventually I’d need more chemo or other treatment. * I can’t wait to get finished with this stupid chemo so I can get back on the road. Here are some landscape shots at a few of my favorite places: Zion National Park; Starview Winery in southern Illinois; Ha Ha Tonka State Park in Missouri; an adobe monument in New Mexico; Lake Powell on the Utah/ Arizona border; Spenker Winery and Cheese Farm in Lodi, CA; a lake and a covered bridge in the Poconos; Yosemite National Park; Deception Pass/ Anacortes Island near Seattle, Washington; and Mount Rushmore. * #starbrightsadventure #rvtravel #roadtrip #fuckcancer #nationalparks #bucketlistadventures #rving #rvliving #rvcamping #rvlife #ontheroadagain #zion #starview #hahatonka #newmexico #lakepowell #lodi @spenkerfamilyfarm #poconos #yosemite #deceptionpass #anacortesisland #mountrushmore https://www.instagram.com/p/CkPCfh5PUWR/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Mount Rainier Pt. 2
Wow.... Wowie WOW WOW...
Mount Rainier is beautiful!!! Absolutely stunning. Gorgeous! I could go on and on describing the mountain but I will say that everyone should try to see this mountain (or any mountain). We fought our way through the snow and I am so glad that we did. While the peaks of Mount Rainier never fully cleared we got to see most of the summit and seeing it in a clear day just means we have a great reason to come back! We spent as much time enjoying the view as we could since there was another storm right behind the clear weather.
We brought up our mini Mia because she deserved those beautiful views too (and we miss our kitten so much!!!!).
Making our way down for 6340' was much much easier than the climb up but it was so worth. Thankful again for the warmth and water of the Ranger Station at the top of Paradise. We headed back to down the mountain to check out the historical Longmire region!
