Looks-wise, we anticipate the Stinger lineup will be essentially similar to the present model. Given this is just the Stinger’s second model year, this absence of change should not come as a surprise. With us expecting very little change, we likewise anticipate no changes to the Stinger’s list of standard features. We expect it to include 18-inch wheels, automatic headlights, LED daytime running lights, front and rear parking sensors, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone environment control, leather upholstery, a 7-inch touchscreen, a six-speaker audio system, and more.

There is one big change for 2019. We’re talking about the 500-unit Stinger Atlantica. Inside, Atlantica consumers will find a special Espresso Brown Nappa leather cockpit, together with a black faux-suede headliner. Simply 500 Stinger Atlanticas will be offered in the US, and the name “celebrates the cross-Atlantic cooperation between the United States and the vehicle’s Germany-based development roots.”

Kia will base this model on the range-topping GT2 AWD model and pack it with tons of special features, consisting of a Deep Chroma Blue paint job, 19-inch wheels obtained from the European model, and a big “Stinger” trunk badge inspired by the Korean-spec model.

Other range-topping features will consist of Espresso Brown Nappa leather, suede-like headliner, surround-view video camera, cordless phone charger, heated rear outboard seats, and “Stinger Atlantica” badges on the center console and both fenders.

2019 Kia Stinger Engine

Under its hood, we expect no changes for the 2019 Stinger. We expect its base engine to remain a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 255 horse power and 260 pound-feet of torque. We also expect the optional 3.3-liter V6 to remain the exact same at 365 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will continue with an eight-speed automated transmission and optional all-wheel drive.

2019 Kia Stinger Safety

The IIHS has yet to evaluate the 2018 Stinger for security, but with optional automatic emergency braking, it gets approved for a Top Safety Pick rating. That is, of course, if it can hold up structurally. Stay tuned for updates on this.

2019 Kia Stinger Pricing & Release Date

The 2019 Kia Stinger Atlantica and the whole 2019 Stinger lineup will hit display rooms this summer season. Rates isn’t really available yet, but we don’t expect the standard Stinger lineup’s costs to differ much from the 2018 model, which ranges from $32,800 to $52,300 (destination fees consisted of). When it comes to the 500-unit Stinger Atlantica, it will likely surpass the $53,300 price tag on the GT2 AWD model it’s based upon. Competitors will consist of the BMW 5-Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, and the Audi A5.
