1995-1999 Toyota Avalon (XX10)
Tumblr media
The Avalon was first introduced in February of 1994 at the Chicago International Auto Show. The name itself however, originated from a concept car of the same name, which was displayed at the 1991 Toyota Motor Show. The car was introduced as a 1995 model. This Avalon was based on XV10 generation of the Camry. The trim levels for this generation Avalon were the XL and XLS, based on the LE and XLE trim levels respectively.
2000-2004 Toyota Avalon (XX20)
Tumblr media
Although the Avalon was still based on the design of the Camry, it was produced as a much larger sedan for the second generation. For the 2003 model, the Avalon was given a slight facelight, including an updated grille and tailights. There were also minor updates to the interior as well.

The 2015 facelift.
In late 2014 and early 2015, Probox underwent a massive facelift significantly in which it was redesigned to become the pre-facelift Succeed replacement. Some changes include the brake lights, and the rearview camera being put on a trim level.
The new modified Toyota Probox now features more appealing body colors stylish design while retaining some of the previous distinguishing features of the initial version. For example, the synthetic rubber inserts are positioned on the sides of the bumper (often black).
Generally, Probox Toyota includes a full power line and is also equipped with a gasoline engine (1.5 liters (103/109 hp) or 1.3 liters (95 hp).
Significant changes in Probox Toyota internal space.
A spanking new front panel. A more resourceful air conditioning in every trim level. The space adjacent to the drivers cabin is much more spacious, giving the driver a room to better their workspace for a comfortable ride. In general, the internal space of Probox has undergone significant changes over the last seven years; compartments, holders, stands, and the sliding table whose table has been increased in size. The front seat is made of fabric upholstery and fixed head restraints. The back sofa comprises a hard bench that features a diamantine upholstery.
The F configuration comprises a front seat with a movable head restraint and high-quality upholstery. The comfortable back seat includes fabric upholstery. It also has a thick pillow with raised head restraints. The power windows are ordinary on GL (two front), DX Comfort (drivers windows), F (all four). The hybrid model features heated front seats and climate control technology. The 2015 Toyota Probox powertrain has been under massive renovation; a CVT is currently used rather than the automatic and classic manual transmission. The engine that has survived restyling is the 1.5-Liter INZ-FE. The 1.3-liter versions modified their brand so that instead of 2NZ-FE, there is a more advanced 1NR-FE which features an advanced torque.
The updated body of suspension Toyota Succeed and Plobox are designed based on the previous standard schemes needed in compact cars. For example, in MacPhersons front strut, the rear is a simple bean containing trailing arms.
The suspension was entirely reconfigured after the model was upgraded. Besides, the steering was also fitted with an electric power amplified speed sensor.
The front ventilated brake disk and the overall disc diameter increased from 13 to 14 inches to enhance the braking system.
Car body dimensions.
Length 4245 mm,
Width 1690 mm,
Height 1525 mm.
Wheelbase 2550 mm,
Ground clearance 130-140 mm.
Turning radius 4.9 m.
Payload about 400 kg.
The luggage compartment has been enlarged to be more spacious and features a square-shaped opening.
The entire back seat is designed to recline in Probox models, DX Comfort, GL, and DX. Besides, it has a water-proof coating, thus making it much easier to clean its trunk. In Probox Model F, the actual seat is designed to fold in two steps. The cushion is forward folded, followed by lying the back. This results in a flat surface and floor covering.
After the 2014 upgrade, Toyota Probox became safer primarily due to advanced safety equipment. They include an ABS that consists of an EBD, two airbags, emergency braking warming, i.e., braking light flash in case of an emergency braking.
New & Used Auto Parts for the Toyota Probox.
Indeed, it would help if you kept your Toyota Probox/ Toyota Succeed in good condition and running smoothly for your safety and extended car service lifespan. Although there is a wide range of auto parts you can consider for your Toyota Probox, in this post, we will discuss the critical auto parts for your Toyota Probox. They include but are not limited to:
Toyota Probox Brake pads.
Your Toyota Probox is equipped with brake pads. The vehicle wheels are directly connected to brake rotors, turning together during motion. When you apply pressure on the brake pedals, the brake calipers, in turn, transmit that pressure to the brake rotors. Typically, the brake pad is located between the calipers and rotors. The primary purpose of these brake pads is to reduce the friction level that would otherwise occur in the case of metal-to-metal friction. Over time, due to wear and tear, these brake pads get worn out and therefore need replacement. Failure to replace them can result in a screeching sound when brakes are applied. If some brake pads are completely worn out than others, then your vehicle will pull on one side. This is a clear indication that your pad is worn out. The type of your Toyota Probox determines the kind of brake pads you need for replacement. Fortunately, we stock all types of Toyota Proboc and Toyota Succeed brake pads in our store. We have, Semi-metallic pads for conventional uses and specialized pads designed to reduce noise levels and prevent dust contamination. We are more than capable of helping our clients choose the best brake pads for replacement. Remember, the best brake pads should be effective under any weather condition.
Brake shoes.
While brake pads and brake shoes serve almost the same purpose, they operate in separate braking system parts. So, what is the purpose of brake shoes? Brake shoes host the brake lining found on the inner part of the brake drum system. They are simply a piece of curved metal fitted with a friction-resistant material on one side. When applying the brake, the wheel cylinder inside the drum brake system pushes the brake shoe outward to press against the inner drum side. This friction between the drum and the lining thus stops the car. In the process, heat is generated, which causes wear and tear.
The Toyota Probox brake shoes are fitted at the rear axle for more effective braking purposes, i.e., braking more sharply. Brake shoes are less expensive, last longer, and are generally more effective than disc brakes. So, do you need brake shoes or brake pads on your Toyota Probox?
Although you can't mix and pair on one wheel, i.e., use disc brakes with brake shoes or drum brake with brake pads, you can have both brake shoes and brake pads on your vehicle. Indeed, many Toyota Probox operates with the combination of these two brake parts. Often, your Toyota Probox is fitted with a disc brake system on its front axle while the drum brake system is held on the rear axle.
Air Filter.
What are the functions of the air filter in my Toyota Probox/ Toyota Succeed? In the same way, you breathe in oxygen to survive, your Toyota Probox also needs oxygen during the fuel combustion process. The air filter is designed to block dust, insects, sand, particles, or debris from entering the engine and ensure the correct air to fuel ratio for efficient performance. Toyota Probox air filters are available in different shapes depending on your vehicle model. For instance, cylindrical or circular panels. Air filters are made with pleated material which can filter air such as foam, cotton, or synthetic paper. You should change your cars' air filter regularly because it enhances your car performance. The engine receives clean air, and the proper air to fuel ratio is maintained for maximum power. You will save more fuel by decreasing the rate of fuel consumption due to complete fuel combustion.
Avoid your vehicle emitting black smoke, which results from incomplete fuel combustion hence dirty exhaust smoke.
Shock Absorbers:
Rear and Front. How do the front and rear shock absorbers function? Shock absorbers, a.k.a Snubber, are critical parts of your Toyota Probox suspension. They are designed to dampen or absorb the rebounding or compression forces from the rest or springs. Simply put, they help manage excess or unwanted spring motion so that your car tires are totally in contact with the road surface throughout. When your car hits a dip or a bump on the road, springs and suspension are set in motion so that your car tires remain in contact with the surface by absorbing the resulting energy. Both the front and rear shock absorbers help dampen the spring movement by helping convert the kinetic energy in the spring into heat energy. The heat is then changed into the hydraulic fluids, which is why shock absorbers contain oil-filled cylinders. As you know there are many orads in Jamaica that have pot holes or that are not properly surfaced and you will notice your probox shaking or making noises when driving on these country roads in Jamaica or in Kingston. or on your way to Portland via the parish of St. Thomas.
Over time, this fluid needs to be replaced or changing the entire shock absorber system in your car. Since shock absorbers reduce and slow down the size of vibratory motions, faulty shock absorbers may lead to unwanted vibratory motions in your Probox.
Engine mount.
What is an engine mount, and how does it work?
An engine mount holds your car engine in place. The transmission system and engine in your Toyota Probox are often held together by four or three mounts. The transmission mount has a transmission system, while the engine mount fits the engine. One engine mount side is fixed on the car frame or body while the other part is bolted into the engine. An engine mount serves two primary purposes: holding the engine in place and reducing unwanted engine vibrations that would otherwise cause discomfort while in your car. Typically, engine mounts comprise rubber materials to prevent metal-to-metal contact between the car body and the engine. Some engine mounts include a particular liquid medium that absorbs vibrations, while others use vacuum-controlled mounts to minimize such vibrations further, thus serving as vibration and shock absorbers. Rember, your car engine mounts need to be replaced when it wears out or fails since they do not need regular servicing or any maintenance.
Ball Joint. What are they and their purposes?
Ball joints are critical parts of your car front suspension systems. The front suspension system comprises complex joints, bearings, and bushings that ensure the car's front wheel can freely and independently move up and down and turn right or left simultaneously. Ball joints are made of ball and socket joints similar to your hip joint. They help in pivoting movement between the control arms and the steering knuckles for a smooth and safe ride. To ensure efficient operation, ball joints are filled with fluids such as grease and oil to lubricate the moving parts. This lubricating fluid needs to be changed at least once a year. We offer original ball joints for your Toyota Probox at an affordable price. Besides, our ball joints feature an improved design that allows easy lubrication to get rid of contaminants hence extended service lift.
Constant Velocity Joints (CV Joint)
The CV Joints connect parts of your car transmission system and the wheels. They are an extension of a driveshaft and are mainly used on front wheels. Each of your car drive wheels comprises double CV joints, namely the inner and out joints. The internal joint links the axle to the transmission system, while the outer joint links the wheel to the axle. The CV joint helps move the car's suspension in all directions. Your vehicle's old CV joint must be replaced if you want to keep your drive wheels rotating at the same velocity after you hit a pothole or when turning at an angle.
Rack End.
The primary purpose of the Rack end is to provide sufficient friction and pivoting action to ensure smooth vehicle handling. It helps appropriately respond to immediate road conditions, thus enhancing stable driving and maximum driving comfort. It also helps absorb vibrations and road conditions for stabilized vehicle handling.
Tie Rod Ends and Boots.
The tie rods and boots are the parts that connect the steering knuckles to the steering rack gearbox to transmit your turning input from the steering wheel to the wheels. Tie rods weave onto the steering rack to ensure proper steering adjustment of the alignment. If you realize that your tires have an uneven wear pattern, the chances are that your car tie rods and boots are failing and need replacement. Besides, if you hear a continuous squealing sound from your car's front, this could be a warning sign that something is not working well.
Control arm bushing.
Control arms, ball joints, and bushings are an essential part of your car suspension system that helps absorb shock for a smooth movement of the wheel up and down. Most small wagon vehicles, including Toyota Probox, are fitted with a single or dual control arm. The control arms help prevent rearward and forward movement for comfort driving and handling. Busing help to control arms, stabilizer bar, shock absorber, stabilizer links, transmission, and engine mounts.
Damaged or worm-out bushings should be replaced since they result in tire wear, discomfort, metal contact: vibrations, and noise.
Head Lamp.
A headlamp/headlight, a.k.a head torch, is the primary light source in your car. They allow you to drive at night, thus making them a very critical component of your vehicle. Toyota Probox headlamps are designed to position the light source at the front. Besides, LEDs are now becoming more adopted mainly due to their efficient power consumption, improved durability, and smaller size yet very powerful. It is essential to check your headlamp and replace it in case of malfunctioning.
Strut Moun
Typically, strut mount is among the less popular part of a car suspension system. Often, it does not receive much attention like other components with critical suspension roles, such as shock absorbers. A faulty or damaged strut mount can result in poor vehicle handling, ride discomfort, and noises. Signs of a damaged strut mount include Uneven tire wear, steering issues, and unwanted vibration.
Alternator.
While the engine generates mechanical energy, the alternator uses used to produce alternating current in your that powers the electrical appliances in your car. An alternator comprises a rotor and stator that serve as magnetic and rotate to produce the current. This alternating current is converted into a direct current used to charge your car battery. A faulty alternator can result in undercharging or overcharging your car's battery, and if it happens for some time, it can damage your car electrical appliances. Signs of a damaged alternator include dim light, battery needing regular recharging, car ignition issues, and others.
Used Transmission
While it would be fantastic if our probox were made to last forever, that is not always the case! Cars need regular repair and maintenance, and one of those sensitive parts is a transmission system and the engine. Indeed, this is the reason why you find Probox owners visiting the junkyard areas to find used transmission systems for their car replacement. You need to be extra careful to avoid buying a lousy unit and spending your money on a transmission system that worsens the situation after the replacement Contact us today for your used probox transmissions.
Final thought.
Sometimes, we take our car maintenance for granted, especially if it is still working well. But, that should not be the case. For instance, why should you wait for your vehicle’s braking system issues to worsen as a result of ignoring a minor repair or replacement of a faulty part? Knowing a few things about auto parts can help you make the right decision to avoid serious issues in your vehicle. All our new and used Totota Probox auto parts are of superior quality. Let the games begin!
Tumblr media
Given the postpone of the 2020 Olympic Games, Japan is faced with the possibility of $6 billion in economic. As the games are delayed, the overall domestic financial loss could reach 600 billion yen to 700 billion yen ($5.42 billion to $6.32 billion), private economists estimate. The impact would apply both to the nation -- which has invested heavily in making the Olympics a national showcase -- and to companies such as Bridgestone that have poured an estimated $3 billion into sponsorships.
Market observers were counting on the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics to help Japan's economy rebound from a dip prompted by the consumption tax hike in October 2019. Economic benefits were expected to spread to a wide range of sectors, from construction to service.
What has the Games cost Japan?
At the end of 2019, organisers estimated the total cost of the Games at around 1.35 trillion yen ($12.6 billion). That is pided between the city of Tokyo, which is paying 597 billion yen, the Japanese organising committee, which contributes 603 billion yen and the central government, which is paying 150 billion yen.
But the actual costs for the country have been hotly debated, with a widely publicised audit report estimating national government spending from the bid in 2013 until 2018 at 1.06 trillion yen, nearly 10 times the budget.Japanese businesses have also poured money into the event in sponsorships, paying out a record 348 billion yen ($3.3 billion). And that figure doesn't include the partnerships signed between major companies and the International Olympic Committee for rights to sponsor several Games. Among those are giants including Japan's Toyota, Bridgestone and Panasonic.
Further issues to be considered-
While the infrastructure can be put on hold for a year to successfully utilize them for Olympics 2021, there are a lot of underlying costs when it comes to these games. All the printing costs, the menu costs, changing medals into 2021 seem small but compile to hefty reinvestments into an already beyond expensive games. Japans economy is already weak and sponsors who poured in billions, businesses who took loans to increase capacity during the games all have one question in mind, is 2021 even worth it? There wont be as expected footfall with travel restrictions and crowd containment looking very likely as COVID is not going anywhere completely.
Task in Hand:
You as an entrepreneur have one simple task- redesign the Olympics. Let me elaborate for you,
Find ways to reduce the losses faced by Japan in the current year due to Olympics (2020), utilize the available infrastructure till the time games happen, restore faith in local businesses and sponsors and most importantly, plan for the future (2021). Plan the games in such a way that it can minimize the losses that will happen due to the lack of footfall, lack of tourism and heavy sponsorship revenue. Remember, this is not tennis or UFC where going online is relatively easy and a viable option, they anyway have limited crowd viewing. Also remember Olympics isn’t like IPL or the Premier League where the losses from lack of ticket sales will be borne by the BCCI or the Premier League, it comes out of the pocket of Japan.
One tip (we are generous people)- Think smart; thinking smart doesn’t always mean thinking about money.

Toyota Avanza——the Best Choice for FamilIies
Toyota Avanza is a five-door MPV, which was the best in the world in 2003. Then the second generation made its debut in 2012. In 2015, Avanza actually took on a new look, adopting a new interior and interior style, and updating the engine under the hood. In addition, this Japanese manufacturer only provided a new 2018 style, and actually changed the style and equipment. Nevertheless, a new change has actually been revealed, that is, Toyota Avanza in 2020. Although this model has not been disclosed yet, we believe that it will not bring much change as long as it is simply modified.
Toyota Avanza has a large cabin, which is the best choice in the family and one of the cheapest vehicles of its kind. In fact, the 2018 model year retains its well-known style and shape, but in fact, only some modifications have been made to make it look more attractive. In the cabin, some changes have actually taken place in color mixing, touch screen updating and instrument cluster redesign. In addition, the most noticeable change is the new third row seat. However, under the hood, Avanza is equipped with exactly the same engine as before. Therefore, for the 2020 model, we expect to have exactly the same specifications.
Tumblr media
2020 Toyota Avanza Engine and Performance
In 2020, the engine of Toyota Avanza will be exactly the same as the current version, and two kinds of engines will be provided. One is a 1.3-liter dual VVT-i fuel engine that can carry 96 horses. In 2018, Astrid Linder, research director of traffic safety at the Swedish National Road and Transport Research Institute, presented a paper at the Road Safety on Five Continents Conference in South Korea in which she ran through EU regulatory crash-test requirements. In the EU, there are five tests a car must pass before being allowed on the market: one safety-belt test, two frontal-collision tests, and two lateral-collision tests. In no test is an anthropometrically correct female crash-test dummy required. The seat-belt test, one of the frontal-collision tests, and both lateral-collision tests all specify that a fiftieth-percentile male dummy should be used. When Linder looked at regulatory tests worldwide, she found that while there are ‘several local differences’, regulatory tests are still using the fiftieth-percentile male ‘to represent the whole adult population’.
There is one EU regulatory test that requires what is called a fifth-percentile female dummy, which is meant to represent the female population. Only 5% of women will be shorter than this dummy. But there are a number of data gaps. For a start, this dummy is only tested in the passenger seat, so we have no data at all for how a female driver would be affected – something of an issue you would think, given women’s ‘out of position’ driving position. And secondly, this female dummy is not really female. It is just a scaled-down male dummy.
Consumer tests can be slightly more stringent. When I spoke to the EuroNCAP (a European organisation that provides car safety ratings for consumers) they informed me that since 2015 they have used male and female dummies in both front-crash tests and that they do base their female dummies on female anthropometric data – with the caveat that this is ‘where data is available’. And that, says Linder, is quite the caveat: ‘To my knowledge, little or even no such data is available,’ she tells me, adding that there is ‘currently no way EuroNCAP can identify the protective systems that protect both males and females the best way.’ In any case, EuroNCAP acknowledged that ‘sometimes’ they do just use scaled-down male dummies. But, as we’ll cover extensively in the next chapter, women are not scaled-down men. We have different muscle-mass distribution. We have lower bone density. There are sex differences in vertebrae spacing. As Stoffregen has noted, even our body sway is different. And these differences are all crucial when it comes to injury rates in car crashes. The situation is even worse for pregnant women. Although a pregnant crash-test dummy was created back in 1996, testing with it is still not government-mandated either in the US or in the EU.
In fact, even though car crashes are the number-one cause of foetal death related to maternal trauma, we haven’t even yet developed a seat belt that works for pregnant women. Research from 2004 suggests that pregnant women should use the standard seat belt, but 62% of third-trimester pregnant women don’t fit the standard seat-belt design. A three-point seat belt can also ride up on women who carry low, which a 1996 study found can treble or quadruple force transmission to the abdomen compared to when the belt is worn below the uterus, ‘with a corresponding increased risk of fetal injury’. Standard seat belts aren’t great for nonpregnant women either: apparently, in an effort to accommodate our breasts many of us are wearing seat belts ‘improperly’ which again, increases our risk of injury (another reason we should be designing explicitly female dummies rather than just smaller male dummies). And it’s not just a woman’s belly that changes in pregnancy: breast-size changes can also diminish seat-belt efficacy by affecting positioning. Here again, we find an example of a situation where we have the data on women, but are just ignoring it. Clearly what is needed is a wholesale redesign of cars using complete data, and this should be fairly simple since it’s not exactly hard to find women to model a test dummy on.
Even with all these gaps, the 2011 introduction of the female crash-test dummy in the US still sent cars’ star ratings plummeting. The Washington Post reported on the experience of Beth Milito and her husband, who bought a 2011 Toyota Sienna, based primarily on its four-star safety rating. But all was not as it seemed. The passenger seat, which Milito says she is likely to be sitting in when they are ‘out and about as a family’, had a two-star rating. In the previous year’s model, the front passenger seat (tested on a male dummy) had earned a top five-star rating. But the shift to female dummies revealed that in a front collision at 35 mph a female passenger had a 20-40% risk of being killed or seriously injured. The average risk of death for that class of vehicle, explains the Washington Post, is 15%.

Does the “Intel Inside” success story offer lessons for Big Auto as they develop and “roll-out” (pun intended) electric cars?
In 1991, Intel launched its “Intel Inside” brand.  Marrying that top-notch branding with Intel’s intention to remain the leader in silicon chip development has led Intel to be the #11 most valuable brand in the world, according to the Interbranch Best Global Brands Report 2018.
Auto brands are right there too.  4 of the top 20 brands are auto (Toyota (#6), Mercedes (#8), BMW (#13), Honda (#20)), along with 5 more in the top 50.  But it’s not just ranking: Intel may have charted a path in the branding of PC chip development that has lessons for those brand-conscious automakers as they move into and compete the realm of electric cars.
Tumblr media
The well-known “Moore’s Law” (chip speeds double every two years) has created a very short product cycle for the semiconductor industry, based on rapid technological innovation.  But PCs don’t wear out every two years.  This type of existing-product-quality v. innovation cycle caught up to Intel in the late 1980s.  Customers were content with an existing product (the 286 chip), and were buying very few of an entire life-cycle of the current chip (the 386).  Each cycle involves billion of dollars of investment, that could get almost entirely lost.  Maybe worse, a two-year window of satisfied, complacent customers could come to define the brand (downward) if a competitor rolls out something new in the middle.
If the brand is cutting edge technology at all times, then the company needs customers to be actually buying those cutting edge products at all times.  Just having the best tech doesn’t hold a candle to consistently selling the best tech.
So what did Intel do?  The simple view is that they developed their own B2C brand even though they are a B2B company. They worked with OEM computer makers to avoid branding conflicts in the value chain.
Now the big automakers, for the first time in a long time, face a period of likely rapid technological development with short life cycles.  That challenge is the quick development in stages of mass-market electric cars that rival conventional cars: first hybrids, now plug-in hybrids, and no-doubt soon fully electric regular-sized cars and SUVs (setting aside Tesla’s now-luxury positioning plus attempt to jump in one leap to a fully mass-market all-electric car).
Tumblr media
Honda’s 2018 Clarity Accord-sized Plug-in Hybrid.
Tumblr media
The smaller-sized Audi e-Tron
Like Intel’s 286 processor customer, a car buyer who purchases a plug-in hybrid that works for commuting could feel that they don’t need another electric car for 5-10 years.  And that could leave room for a technology-leader today to lose the advantage of a brand seen as cutting edge.
Tumblr media
2012 Toyota Prius Hybrid
Thus automakers probably want to find a way to get consumers (electric car buyers) to want a new product in a much shorter time than the actual product lasts.  Certainly ads and other branding tools matter.  Just as certainly it would be a change from the current types of ads that car manufacturers run.  But as as surely, integrating with actual operations matters.  For auto, this is both on the technology side -- having whole new products to roll out fully redesigned products faster than the current 4-6 years (according to Autotrader.com).  And for auto there is another big component of operations -- the auto finance part of the business, because a car is such a big-ticket item.  So as an example, if a carmaker is trying to do what Intel did, promoting new computer purchases in every short cycle, the carmaker might want to consider making short term leases more attractive than buying the car.  This could be a long-term view combining strategy, operations and branding.
Tumblr media
In-development Mercedes Plug-in Hybrid.
Another possible lesson: perhaps the OEM’s want to initiate a program like “Intel Inside” with a leading, cutting-edge maker of electric car batteries.  That presents value-chain problems, but just like Intel managed that potential competition down the chain to its OEMs, maybe big auto could manage that up-the-chain to a supplier of the critical component of electric cars -- the battery.
In any event, there is no doubt that Intel developed a wildly successful strategy to couple a new brand with its technology leader strategy.  It had to continue to link them at every phase of company operations, and doing so reinforced both the brand and operations.
Big auto might learn a lesson now that they face what looks like an eerily similar situation to the early leaps in PC chip technology.

THE KIA OPTIMA 2019: ALWAYS SO REFINED!
TEST OF THE KIA OPTIMA 2019: ALWAYS SO REFINED!
Tumblr media
THE KIA OPTIMA 2019: ALWAYS SO REFINED!
Its appearance is closer to that of the Stinger
If in 2018, the Kia Optima seemed to be struggling to keep pace with the Honda Accord or the Toyota Camry - both deeply renewed that year - the renewal that benefits the Optima 2019 makes it a world of good. The latter displays nice changes that allow it to remain competitive in the class of intermediate sedans, which we do not hide, is a segment a little crowded in recent years.
Small changes that change the game
Optima is available in three trim levels, the LX (and LX +), EX (and EX Tech) and SX (and SXL); our test car was the EX, equipped with the Tech Package, which adds a panoramic sunroof, an eight-inch screen for the multimedia system, ventilated front seats and wireless charging.
From the outside, the Optima 2019 comes in the form of an elegant sedan, with a sleek roofline and a well-proportioned set.
Tumblr media
THE KIA OPTIMA 2019: ALWAYS SO REFINED!
A small styling update has been made at the front and rear fascias, new headlights have been integrated, and the model has a new wheel design. The biggest change, however, is the muzzle of the car, which is now more like the Kia Stinger sport sedan. A new choice of 16 ", 17" or 18 "wheels is offered to the buyer depending on the version chosen.
Inside, this sedan signed Kia offers a rather impressive space and very well equipped. In recent years, one of the great strengths of the Altima is the environment it offers that is similar to the more luxurious models seen out of German factories. Although many of its rivals have narrowed the gap in sophistication and build quality, the Optima in 2019 is doing very well, again.
The dashboard has been slightly redesigned to make it a little more modern; I found the instrumentation quite clear and well organized as a whole. All versions of the Optima include heated front seats, and the seats are leather from the EX.
The seats are comfortable and of good quality, as is the whole interior, by the way. The space around the rear seats is perhaps a little reduced in comparison with some of the other cars in its class, especially at the head level, however nothing very disabling.
Tumblr media
THE KIA OPTIMA 2019: ALWAYS SO REFINED!
Like Hyundai, Kia incorporates in its new affordable models features previously reserved for high-end variants. On this side Kia strikes hard to stand out and the least we can say is that it works.
We find the Apple CarPlay integration and Android Auto, no surprises. There is also the push button starter and security updates that have been put in place. There is also front collision alert, automatic emergency braking, Lane Keeping Assist, Attention Assistance and Blind Spot Assist.
This set makes the Optima one of the safest vehicles in its class, while many competitors who do not hesitate to charge some of these options already present in the Optima. The 2019 millet has received the highest safety rating from the IIHS in the US - but beware, this Top Safety Pick + designation only applies to SX variants equipped with available LED headlights.
One of the big news is the implementation of a UVO multimedia system that can integrate with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The EX versions of the Optima 2019 feature the UVO Intelligence system that allows you to diagnose the vehicle on demand and make maintenance alerts.
Tumblr media
THE KIA OPTIMA 2019: ALWAYS SO REFINED!
Under the bonnet
On the mechanical side, the base EX version and the LX variant feature a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine developing 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft in conjunction with a six-speed automatic transmission. The SX version is powered by 245 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque thanks to a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
In terms of fuel consumption, the Kia EX officially consumes 9.7 km and 7.1 km / 100 km (city / highway), although my driving week has been with temperatures below freezing. and quite a bit of snow on the road, when I approached these numbers. My total at the end of my week was 11.1 l / 100 km, whereas I estimate I drove in an urban environment about 70% of the time.
Optima's performance in consumption is expected to be much better in the spring, summer, and fall, and even more so for motorists who spend more of their time on major highways than me.
Not to mention that the Kia Optima offers a hybrid version and a rechargeable hybrid version with an average autonomy of 47 kilometers in 100% electric mode, which is even higher than what is found in the average.
Tumblr media
THE KIA OPTIMA 2019: ALWAYS SO REFINED!
One might have feared that the 2019 Optima would suffer from a six-speed transmission that has become obsolete, but I finally found that this box is not so big a thorn as that. The reports go smoothly for relaxed driving and the downshift is fast. The vehicle has more than three modes of driving, normal, eco and sport.
The initial acceleration provided by the powertrain XE, although it is not bright, is more than acceptable for a sedan whose first vocation is still not deliver extreme sensations. That said, the sport suspension and the D-shaped sport steering wheel that can be delivered (with SX versions) can add an extra dose of spice. In this case, there are also pallets mounted on the steering wheel.
The competition has been renewed, too.
The Kia Optima plays in the same sandbox as the Honda Accord, the Toyota Camry and the Hyundai Sonata, three models that have also been recently remodeled. Who insists on advanced technologies and modernity is not lacking in choice in this category that is full of talent, while it continues to lose feathers against crossovers and SUVs.
Will the Optima be able to defend its corner of the market? One thing is certain, the car has all the assets to do it. Consumers will have the last word, though, and I wonder if the lack of a full-time all-wheel drive system will ultimately drive Canadian consumers to a model like Nissan's 2019 Altima. , whose new generation recently unveiled benefits from such a system.
In terms of rates, the base LX receives a price of $ 26,595, the LX + starts at $ 29,095. It rises to $ 31,295 for the EX and to $ 35,145 when the Tech package is added. The SX Turbo costs at least $ 38,045, while the SXL Turbo receives a starting price of $ 40,645.
The Kia Optima 2019 takes advantage of several changes that make it a real competitor now. Without it totally impressing the gallery in one aspect or another in particular, this car is practical, comfortable and attractive. Ideal for those who love sedans everyday. It remains an impressive sedan that can be driven every day safely and comfortably. The dashboard controls are well designed and organized to make life easy for both drivers and passengers.

2024 Toyota Corolla Redesign
2024 Toyota Corolla Redesign – The 2024 Toyota Corolla is expected to continue with minor changes ahead of a possible facelift in 2024. The current Corolla hatchback was introduced for 2018 and the sedan for 2019. Changes across the lineup have been relatively minor so far, with some special edition models and more driver assistance systems. With this particular Corolla hybrid, we want to discuss the #1 most critical issue and the reality that the 2024 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is only available at clip levels. That means all the other trims you could get on a petrol model and you’ll just have to stick with.
2024 Toyota Corolla Redesign
The whole Toyota Corolla is a great and cheap car for men and women who want their journey to be completed with as little hassle as possible. There is a solution between several doorway hatchbacks, or perhaps sedans, each available in two different engines: a cost-effective hybrid powertrain, as well as your simpler options like gearboxes if you’re looking for a vehicle-driving offer.

Type R
Honda must’ve soiled themselves after Toyota released the new Corolla GR because inside information claims that Honda is completely redesigning the Type R that was set to release in the year 2023. So what can we expect? Well, first of all it won’t be a V6 so I wouldn’t get your hopes up. The Type R and most other Hondas are four cylinders so we can expect a four banger engine. That being said, Honda is probably going to live up to “The Power of Dreams” name and put a big turbo in the Type R and call it a day. I would genuinly be surprised if Honda puts a new series engine inside of the Type R because there hasn’t been one since 2018. Who knows, Honda is always suprising their customers with shiny new cars so we can expect nothing but greatness. Let’s go Honda!
