Week 4

After delivering an audio recording for a 20 minute sports podcast, I gained technical skills such as being able to produce a podcast by using the audio mixer. My other 3 group members did a 20-minute podcast episode, while I used an audio mixer to change the volume levels to ensure the recording will be heard properly with too much background noise.

Sports podcasting is considered to be a very good and important investment for all sporting organisations. Majority of the sporting organisations worldwide have podcasts and their popularity is continuing to rise. This is because sports podcasting has the ability to drive growth, acquire new fans, sell more products and most importantly it has the ability to generate revenue via things such as monetization, sponsorships, ads or other deals. For example, Spotify bought The Ringer (a sports podcast created by a sports writer named Bill Simmons) for a staggering $250 million as the co-founder of Spotify, Daniel Ek believes the streaming platform is turning into the “new ESPN” (Cue, 2023). 

It is evident that podcasts offer something unique and different from radio or TV. It gives fans an experience much different to the traditional media formats because podcasts are more personal and can be easily accessible/listened to anywhere or anytime the fans like (Makari, 2023). It is important to consider that doing podcasts is cheap and reliable too.

Hey.

Hi small world. It's been a few minutes since I last said "hey." I hope you're doing good, soo good that you can't contain your joy. I wish that for you...a deep, bubbling, effervescent joy that would blow the lid off anything or anyone trying to contain it.

Well that paragraph just fluffed my plans to vent, lol. How can I write anything sad after that bright intro...sherbert. Ok, well fudge that idea.

Let's see...what happened since the last post...there's a new pup in the house that arrived last December, there's a new baby on the way via my younger sibling that's due in late August and I won the biggest award you can get at work. I clocked my job so to speak, lol. I was shocked by that one as I could list AT LEAST 10 more deserving employees for the title, but it showed me that when you're in the favour of God he'll bless you even when you don't deserve it and you're feeling like a complete fool (trust me, if you had to see the photo of when I received it you'd know what I mean, lol).

Update over. Oh, I'm no longer a lone ranger in the office, by the beginning of this week the office was full once more although somehow I've found myself a blady outsider already. Man I suck at socializing and spitting words plus I dread teaching or telling others how to do stuff. I mean surely their knowledge is greater - I've always been more comfortable doing this: purging words onto screens and sometimes onto paper (rarely though these days) that no-one will ever see. I sense a vibe building already and it ain't a soft, fluffy one either. Ai (edit 06022020 - today was different, it looks like I was wrong about this).

Either way, I watched an incredible vid on Sid Roth's "It's Supernatural" YouTube channel where Tracy Cooke - a prophet of God (he doesn't call himself "Prophet Tracy Cooke", he just answered the call in his life) - ministers to people in the audience and gives a teaching from 2 Kings and how every believer can receive the gifts of the spirit. Fascinating stuff. I had a taste of it in the classes I took last year. I prayed in tongues and received words of knowledge (albeit short ones) and other downloads from the holy spirit that were confirmed by the people I was assigned to in the group exercises.

The last while I've felt pressure and immense distraction, such so that it pushed me away from the Lord. I didnt have lus for things of Him over December and early Jan until I decided to fast and pray again. Been doubting my purpose lately and have lost the will to live again, even today I was plotting how to take my last pennies and disappear from here...maybe travel to a distant country and break contact with everyone left in my life even my family and maybe rot away somewhere far. Despite those emotions, I've still been progressing with my Bible reading plan ever so slowly (nearing the end of the plan I began in 2015 that was meant to be done in 2016 that I'm still busy on in 2020, but I won't give up...only 2.5 months left of it to complete...the home stretch okes).

Ja no. "Life bru," as my beloved cousin would say. I miss that oke more than I care to admit.

All I know is, I'm trusting in the Lord - He knows best. If I can make a way to complete the life group homework by tomorrow I'll go back to the group for the first time this year. I know I need it and always feel good after having gone. ALWAYS. But I know I have the battle of walking through the awkward greetings and small talk in the beginning to get through, man I have just not got the hang of that most basic of skills - I don't know what happened, the rest of my fam is so well-adjusted.

Anyway. Peace out peeps, a man's getting old. There's still hope though. Help me to repent Jesus, I need to turn around or I'll be this way forever and die on the pages of this blog...alone and forgotten as if I was never here.

Ok, enough of that. There's still rain (as I write I hear a thunderstorm brewing in the distance), there's still rainbows, there are still sunrises and sunsets and beautiful vistas. Puppies, smiles and belly laughs: you know the ones that cause the odd trickle tear.

This isn't it, I know it - even if I don't feel it. I know it, deep deep down.
