Nordictrack Commercial 1750 Review
Quick Introduction
The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 is one of the most popular treadmills on the market and was awarded one of our highest rankings because it offers so much for such a great price.
Buyers get a treadmill that provides comfort and performance for all sorts of training activities; from walking to high performance running. As far as high-quality components, two of our favourites are the 2-ply tread belt and the RunnersFelx(™) adjustable deck cushioning. These features provide you with a quiet, comfortable, and flexible workout experience.
The technology on this system is also outstanding. Our favorite is the 7 inch iFit and web-enabled touch screen. Imagine enjoying your favorite YouTube channels, keeping up with your favorite sports teams, or checking e-mails while working out. It will keep you entertained and, engaged, which means you will work out longer.
For those of you looking for a more immersive workout experience, iFit is definitely something to consider. iFit is a fitness app requiring a monthly subscription. It provides a variety of workout videos and experiences. Can you imagine going on a run through the English countryside or through the official NY marathon? Well with iFit it’s possible. Pre-loaded in the app are Google map runs that are visually presented to you on screen. Even better, the power incline on your iFit-ready treadmills adjust throughout the Google map runs to give a more realistic experience. The fitness app also allows for stat tracking; logging workouts (not just iFit ready equipment), nutrition, and sleep.
Positives
•               Strong 3.8CHP motor minimizes vibrations and allows for longer workout sessions including high-performance running
•               Large 55x152cm tread belt creates a large comfortable running surface, suitable even for taller individuals. Don’t worry about falling off the edge.
•               Tread belt is 2-ply and lubricated reducing noise and friction
•               Running deck has RunnersFlex (™) Cushioning. When “on”, it makes for a workout that is soft and comfortable on the joints. When “off” the workout experience reflects that of running outdoors.
•               Foldable design provides portability
•               22 KM/H top speed suitable for runners
•               Power decline/incline from -3% to 15% adds variety to workout experience and intensity
•               7inch touch screen keeps you engaged with web connectivity
•               38 workout apps + Ifit connectivity make for interactive and dynamic workouts
•               Heart rate monitoring
Negatives
•               Full Ifit is optional and comes with an additional monthly charge. Some may find this feature pricey.
•               Not suitable for use if you weigh more than ~125 kg
•               Heavy treadmill – 130 kg. Limits movability (but adds stability during workouts)
•               Self-assembly can be difficult for those of us who are not too handy (opt for outside help with assembly, it will be worthwhile)
Warranty Summary
•               The NordicTrack Commercial 1750 comes with:
•               10-year motor warranty
•               2 year parts + labour warranty
•               lifetime frame warranty
Bottom Line
The positives for the NordicTrack 1750 commercial are long and impressive and the negatives are a non-concern for most. The treadmill is one of the most popular and bestselling in the market and for good reason. It is definitely worth your consideration.

Silenced- 1
Pairing: OT7 x reader
Summary:Y/n was an average girl, passing the police academy with a passing score and no overly special talents, she was matched with a sarcastic, moody, cigarette-smoking detective as a partner. Not only was he already a handful, but the forensic scientist that was assigned to Team 4--as they called themselves--had made it clear that he was interested in Y/n. With those two constantly bickering and the tragic event of a new unsolved case thrown in their laps, how will they feel when their worlds are turned upside down with the entry of a new officer and a case that was way over their heads?
Warnings:Blood, Gore, smoking, cursing, cliche?
Ducking underneath the iridescent yellow tape lining the edges of the scene to keep any onlookers out, I followed his footsteps as they interrupted the blood mixed puddle upon the hard cement. Red and blue siren lights of our car flickered in the corner of my eye, giving too strong of a stimulus for my brain to focus on the situation at hand. Resting my eyes upon the changing hues of light, my mind wanted to drift into a rain lulled stupor, each droplet hitting the shell of my umbrella was hypnotizing enough as it is.
A smoke laced cough caught my attention, whipping my head back around to look at my partner in worry and confusion. He had caught on to my hesitant steps, more like exhausted as it was 5:37 am, but with furrowed brows and a white burning cigarette placed between his lips he jerked his head to the side, motioning for me to follow and get this over with. With a hefty sigh and a quick glance at the tumbling, grey sky through my clear umbrella, my eyes ghosted over each raindrop that hit upon the plastic.
Taking a quick step to match his we began walking past the mass of response unit cars, as we detectives are the last to be called on scene. A stout man ran up, shoving himself between my partner and I, and earned a grim look of annoyance from the taller man.
"So what have we got?" He grunted, smoke billowing from his lips in a small stream as he blew out the deadly toxin. From the corner of my eye I could see him rest his arm upon the shorter mans head, a clear display of disrespect but he could care less. Looking down at the officer we arrived just outside the actual crime scene, the faint smell of blood now becoming stronger, more potent within the rain filled air as a wave of bile begged to rise from my stomach and burn the inner of my throat.
" Melody Smith, 22 years old, 26 lacerations to the torso and neck area. She was DOA and there hasn't been any friends or family to show up as of yet."
" She was stabbed 26 times? Doesn't that seem like a little bit overkill, and why hasn't anyone covered her with a tarp yet? Don't these guys know that at this point all the evidence is just being washed down the drain?".
A young girl laid on her back, limbs splayed out unevenly as her head twisted to the side, an angle that confirmed the female was certainly dead, her wide eyes staring directly into the dark clouds above. All signs of life had left them, at this point she was just a corpse waiting to be put into the ground, a being that once was as alive as me but now left as an abandon shell waiting to rot in the open.
Her shoulder length brown hair that had once been in--what I would guess to be a messy bun--was now matted with her own blood, parts torn out as a clear indicator of fighting for survival. She wore a heavy sweatshirt, embroidered on the front was what I could only guess was a university's motto. A gruesome display of how unsafe the public truly was to the wicked evil that lurked the earth. Well that would explain the copious amounts of blood that were pooled all around her body when we arrived, but thanks to the rain my shoes would be safe another day.
"So who found her?"
Taehyung nods his head in the direction of a blonde haired women sobbing hysterically while hoards of people around attempt to comfort her.
"Ohhh..so that's where the dying cat sound was coming from earlier." A scoff of laughter escaped my lips from my own joke.
Tae shakes his head in disappointment before pivoting on his heels and heading over in the direction of the damsel in distress. Although not nearly fast enough for me not to see the corners of his mouth curve ever so slightly upwards. If there's one things that Tae and I share, it's the ability to make light of whatever dark and morbid situation that we've gotten ourselves into that day.
After all the losses there was no more sentimentality for the dead. It was easier if you didn't think of them as people at all. Indeed, our senses of humor became warped and darkly macabre. We laughed at their silly expressions and gave them rude names. There is only so much horror you can take in and understand, after that your mind will snap. So we joke.
I decide to do a once over of the body to see if there's anything that the crime scene analysis guys might have missed just to prolong the inevitable drama that I'm about to step into, but ultimately I end up heading in the direction of Tae and our devastated jogger. Upon getting closer, I can see that she's much younger than I initially expected. She had long blonde hair swept up into a tight ponytail, one that made my own head ache after looking at it for too long. She wore a matching set of leggings and sports bra that were a soft shade of pink with small gold flowers embroidered all over it.
I had to admit that it really complemented the dark hue of her bronzed summer skin and made me question the last time that I had hit the treadmill after looking at her toned abs. She had deep blue eyes and plump pink lips that reminded me of those little sea shells that you find when you walk the beach early in the morning but ended up getting washed away if you didn't grab them fast enough. I couldn't help but wonder how I looked compared to her since my morning routine that day consisted of just barely remembering to jump in the shower and throw my uniform on.
I also noticed that her already long eyelashes were coated in a layer of mascara and her lips were also supporting a clear gloss as well. I never really could understand the point of wearing makeup to work out since you were just going to sweat it off anyways, but to each their own.
Little to no surprise she was no longer crying, all thanks to Taes "charm". The girl that once was having screaming fits of nearly tripping over a dead body now acted as if she had no recollection of what had happened and was solely focused on trying to stealthily push her cleavage a little bit higher into Tae's line of sight.
I wouldn't blame her though. Tae was a pretty good looking guy according to all the other girls on the surrounding teams at the office. He stood around 5'10 and had pretty large shoulders for a guy who spent most of his time sitting at a desk chair or driving a patrol car to observe crime scenes. Muscular in the kind of way that you can tell when they work out but not anything that says that I'm desperate and my muscles are the only things that gives me confidence. He had dark hair that looked like it was almost in need of a haircut since it slightly hung in his eyes but you could also say that it gave him a casual boyish charm that made him comfortable to talk to.
His eyes were dark brown and almost completely unreadable if not for the millions of facial expressions that he's given me the pleasure of seeing. That was his dead give away. Most people at work think that he's a moody officer but if only they saw the endless faces that were shot my way throughout the day. I look Tae's direction to see if he's being lured into her act and hoping to find something to tease him about later, but unfortunately if he does find her attractive then he's good at hiding it.
"So can you give us a rundown of what happened today?" Tae asks while leaning in and placing a hand on the girls shoulder. As soon as this happens she breaks down into tears again and takes his comforting as a chance to further his touch.
"Well, I got up around 4:15 am to do my daily morning jog. I came up around the park and did two laps around the northern buildings of the university before heading this way. Normally I would head back towards the park but I needed to pick up a jacket that I left at a friends place for an event that was going on later at the college. Halfway to her house I noticed a girl who was laying down on the ground. I thought that she might have also been on a run and slipped and hit her head or something, but that's when i saw all the blood......" her voice trailed off after she realized the severity of what she had stumbled upon that morning.
I looked over at Tae who was already looking in my direction. We both knew that there wouldn't be anything else to get from her in this state at the moment. So I headed in the direction of our car while Tae gave his new admirer a form and a time to stop by at the station later when she had calmed down. I looked over my shoulder to see him giving her a polite smile and a little wave goodbye before heading my direction. I got into the passenger side, the cold leather seat consuming the warmth of my body thus causing a shiver to crawl up my spine. Tae laughed lightly at my action then slipped himself into the driver's seat. For some reason we had this unspoken agreement that he would always drive and I would be the one to man any incoming calls and most importantly, the radio.
I immediately popped in the Journey CD that he had tucked away into the glove department and before you knew it he was belting out the lyrics to every song that came on. His voice was husky as it was still to early for either of us to be completely awake and functional. But nonetheless I didn't sing along like he did. Instead I just sat back and listened to his voice, the deep tones of each word struck my mind with ease as he could quickly raise the tension within seconds. His voice used to be a secret between us until he got to drunk at the rookie Christmas party and did a duet with the one of the other rookies to some song. His voice paired with his looks gets him teased a lot around the office with the common name of pretty boy and such, so he doesn't sing now unless its in the car. But it makes me happy to know that he's comfortable sharing it with me.
Looking out the window of the car it was easy to get lost in the moment as the grey clouds blanketed the sky, accompanied by the soft pattering of rain drops hitting windshield as we made our way through the city. Despite the heavy tension that hung above us, rain commonly calmed me down. Easing my feelings into a more simplified state--helping me enjoy the music with Tae and hum along quietly-- and helping me wake up more than before. My eyes ghosted across the early birds that walked along the streets, warm coffees resting in their freezing glove lined hands.
We slowly came to a stop--red light being the cause--while the sharp sound of someone clearing their throat drifted my attention from the window to Tae looking at me briefly before pressing on the gas once more.
"It's pretty cold out..."
"Mhm" I hummed glancing back at the window, then turned back around once more as he motioned for my attention.
"It's also pretty early..."
"Tae if you're trying to start small chat then let me just be the one to tell you, you're awful at it."
"Listen smart ass, I was trying to ask nicely but now you don't get a choice."

Tips To Keep In Mind When Purchasing Treadmill
Running on a treadmill is the most popular form of exercise. Most people choose this instead of going for heavy lifting exercises, as running is easy and more rejuvenating of all. Buying the machine from Treadmills Distributors in Dubai can be a great investment as it can be your trusted partner to help you with your weight loss and fitness routine. If you are considering opening a gym, in that case too, you will need treadmills. Now, the question that arises in the minds of buyers is to what specifically look for in a fitness machine? Well, to answer that question for you, we have jotted down a list of things that will help you make the right choice.
Workout Space & Treadmill Size
Whether you are buying a treadmill for your home or for the gym, the important thing to consider is the workout space that is available and accordingly, the size of the treadmill should be considered. Obviously, you will not want to cramp up space, leaving no room to breathe or clean the area. You can also buy from best folding treadmill distributors in the UAE to avoid cramping up space. Having the measurements handy will help you in making the right decision as treadmill usually comes with dimensions published on the box. As far as the running space is concerned, go for a belt that is 20” wide. You can also select 22” wide belt if you are more into running then walking.
Set the Budget
Once you know the space available and the size of the treadmill that you want to buy, the next step is considering the budget. Treadmills come in many price ranges. One can settle for a less expensive one if they are not going to use it too often or if they want a very basic version of the machine. For those who want to go a little higher, want to use the machine on a regular basis and it should have some advanced feature, they need to set the price bar higher. Although, you can keep an eye out on the sales before making a final decision, as this might help you save some money.
Buy From a Trusted Brand
It will sound like a no-brainer to many but people often buy non-branded treadmills from local markets as they are relatively cheaper. There are many treadly treadmills dealers UAE that can offer you the best treadmills from trusted brands and that too in your budget. When buying a machine, one must be careful and smart. A non-branded product might save your money but it can trouble you a lot in the long run. Also, there’s no guarantee whether it will be safe to use or not. So why take such a chance right?
Many gym owners contact gym treadmill factory UAE to purchase the right running equipment. They not only get a good quote but a product that is high on specifications and safety. If you are buying a treadmill for your home, make sure you test the equipment before finalising it to see whether or not it syncs with the body.

Fit Pregnancy: My 2nd Trimester Workouts
Workouts done during 13-27 weeks of my pregnancy
Tumblr media
I’m almost 27 weeks pregnant and approaching my 3rd trimester. Woohoo!  Just like my first pregnancy in 2016, I’ve been very fortunate to have an easy pregnancy thus far. I haven’t experienced any nausea, excessive fatigue, leg cramps, swelling, hemorrhoids, headaches, heartburn, constipation or other symptoms that are common in most pregnant women.
This has allowed me to consistently train up to 6x a week. If you’ve been following my journey for a while, you’ll know that prior to getting pregnant, I would train 6x a week sometimes twice a day.
I thought I would share the workouts that I’ve been doing to stay fit and active during this pregnancy, along with sample weekly schedules.
So here goes.
Weekly Workout Schedule (13 - 17 weeks pregnant)
Sunday - 3.5 mile easy paced solo run
Monday - Active rest day focusing on mobility exercises
Tuesday - 3.5 mile stroller run
Wednesday - 45 min Spin Class
Thursday - 1hr Orange Theory Fitness Class
Friday - 45 min Spin Class
Saturday - 45 min Spin Class
Weekly Workout Schedule (18 - 22 weeks pregnant)
Sunday - Easy paced 5k run
Monday - 1hr Barre
Tuesday - 45 min Spin Class
Wednesday - Active rest
Thursday - 1hr Orange Theory Fitness Class
Friday - 45 min Spin Class
Saturday - 45 min Spin Class
Weekly Workout Schedule (23 - 27 weeks pregnant)
Sunday - Easy paced 5k run
Monday - Active rest day focusing on mobility exercises
Tuesday - 1hr Orange Theory Fitness Class
Wednesday - 45 min Spin Class
Thursday - 1hr Orange Theory Fitness Class
Friday - Yoga
Saturday - 45 min Spin Class
How I create my Weekly Workout Schedule?
So at the beginning of every week, I create a workout plan (like the ones above). They are based on my schedule, my husband’s schedule (so he can keep our toddler), my toddler, class availability, the weather and how my body is feeling.
My goal is to do at least 5 challenging workouts alternating between cardio & strength. I try to ensure that I have 3 days of cardio and 2 days of strength and then 1 day for yoga and/or mobility. But this doesn’t always workout as planned. Sometimes I might have a little more cardio and less strength and vice versa. For example last week during Thanksgiving, I took spin classes 5x and did 1 outdoor run. This was because all of the classes at other studios I wanted to attend were completely full. Also the temps outside were freezing for the most of the week and I didn’t feel like running outside in it.
About the Workouts:
Easy Paced Runs
Tumblr media
I try to go out for an outdoor run 1-2x a week depending on the weather and schedule. As I get further along in my pregnancy I don’t run outside if it’s raining or snowing heavily or really cold.  If it’s nice outside, I’ll do a stroller run with my toddler.
Tumblr media
I typically do a 5k at a super easy pace (or what my running club likes to call ‘sexy pace’), which is 10:30+ min/mile. My pre-pregnancy pace was around 8:40 min/mile. My body can go faster but I overheat so quickly and my heart rate shoots up, which is a big no-no during pregnancy. So I aim to run at a conversational pace and have fun. If I feel like my heart rate is increasing too quickly at any point, like running up a hill, I take a walking break until it’s back to normal. I never ever attempt to push through a run. It’s just not worth it to me during pregnancy. I always do what feels right for my body.
Tumblr media
A few people have asked if I wear a support belt during my runs and the answer is no. I didn’t wear one during my 1st pregnancy and I ran up to 41 weeks. However my bump is a lot larger this go around so if I feel I need one, I will definitely get it.
Orange Theory Fitness Class
Tumblr media
I discovered Orange Theory Fitness classes while vacationing in Florida this past summer and fell in love! It’s a high intensity workout combination of treadmill running, rowing on a rowing machine & strength training using free weights or TRX straps. It’s coached by a trainer to upbeat music and no two workouts are ever the same. (I’ll have to do a blog post with a review on their studio at a later date). While the workouts are challenging, it’s been easy for me to modify moves that are no longer comfortable or reduce intensity that I perform various exercises. For example the treadmill running consists of speed intervals. Pre and early pregnancy I would run the entire way as instructed but as I got further along, I take walk breaks as my recovery.
So here’s an example of what the speed intervals might look like on the treadmill then vs now:
Pre-pregnancy - Base pace 6 mph, Push Pace 7.5 mph, All Out Pace - 9/10mph
During Pregnancy - Base pace 3.5-4 mph, Push pace 5.5-6mph, All Out Pace - 7-7.5 mph, Recovery pace 3mph
Spinning at Cyclebar
Tumblr media
I love spinning and frequently used it to cross-train when I was training for races. I’ve done classes at all the well known spinning studios over the years but never heard of Cyclebar until I got it on Groupon. I’m so glad I found them because they are close to home and their spin classes are awesome! I started taking classes in March and used to compete to be number 1 on the leaderboard (and did it!) but as I got further along in my pregnancy, this was no longer my goal. I try to keep my heart rate at a manageable pace, which means that sometimes I have to skip the tap backs or arm presses. I still leave this workout drenched in sweat and smiling because I’m having so much fun. I’ll have to do a review on this studio as well at a later date.
Barre Class at Pure Barre
Tumblr media
During my 1st pregnancy I took barre classes all the way to my 40th week and really enjoyed it.
During this pregnancy, I thought I would do the same and took numerous classes because I love the way it works your tiny little muscles to exhaustion. However when my class pack expired earlier this month, I didn’t renew it. Why? I just wasn’t enjoying it as much as before. I don’t know if it’s the slow pace or having to do way too many pregnancy modifications during the abs section of class, but I noticed that I kept watching the clock every time I went to class, which is never a good thing. Maybe I’ll feel differently in a few weeks and get another package but for now, I’ve decided to replace it with short pilates workouts I can do at home.
If I have to leave my house, especially during the cold winter months, I only want it to be for workouts that I absolutely enjoy.
Active Rest Days
Tumblr media
I try to take things down a notch 1-2x a week by taking a rest day. I usually don’t completely take the day off unless I feel super tired. I try to incorporate short yoga workouts, mobility exercises and pelvic floor work at home.
I actually feel like my body needs more of this because it’s so beneficial to help prevent injuries, increase flexibility and prepare me for labor so I plan to incorporate it more during my 3rd trimester.
During the summer time, I would incorporate outdoor pool workouts because I have a pool in my neighborhood. Now that winter is here and the outdoor pools are closed, I would have to find an indoor pool to use and unfortunately there isn’t one close to my house so it looks like I won’t be doing that anymore.
So there you have it!
All of the workouts I’ve done during my 2nd trimester of pregnancy.
I’m hoping that I can continue to maintain my fit pregnancy schedule during my 3rd trimester.

Step into a gym almost anywhere in the world and there’s a good chance that when you head over to the rowing machines, you’ll find yourself faced with a Concept2 RowErg. Concept2’s classic design is a mainstay of gyms and rowing clubs everywhere, and with good reason too. Packing trademark sturdiness into a unfussy design, the RowErg has long been considered as the industry standard for rowing routines, renowned for being great full-body workouts that are low-impact on the body.
You won’t find any top-end features on the RowErg, such as live classes or interactive routines and if that’s what you’re looking for in particular, you might want to check out some fancier models. Its backlit LCD screen does provide lots of data though, plus there are global rankings, options to program your own workouts and an accompanying app for those who wish to carefully scrutinise their performance.
What the Concept2 RowErg undoubtedly offers is a smooth, comfortable row on a durable, well-designed machine. At between 70-100Db, it might not be as quiet as a magnetic rowing machine, nor is it as aesthetically-pleasing as a solid wood rower, yet if you’re looking for straightforward bit of kit that does its job well for a competitive price, look no further.

If you’re shopping at the premium end of the workout machine market, the Peloton Bike will likely already be on your radar. While the cost of the bike is high, with a $39 monthly subscription also required to access the live classes which truly make the bike shine, it’s a hugely impressive workout machine with superb classes that are both fun and intelligently-designed.
At 61KG, the bike itself is pretty heavy although it does come with two front-mounted wheels which makes moving it much easier. In terms of design quality and looks, the Peloton Bike is first-rate with its matte-black finish looking truly very luxurious. The saddle can take a little getting used to, so do prepare yourself for some initial soreness but that will soon subside though your enthusiasm for the experience won’t.
You will need Delta-compatible cleats to clip inside the bike’s pedals which is another expense, but if you’re seriously considering the Peloton experience, that won’t faze you too much. The overall and ongoing price really is the only potential drawback here in what is otherwise a supremely enjoyable and effective workout experience.

Besides the appealing flexibility of the Mobvoi Home Treadmill, the cost is impressive too. At under $400 USD, its sturdy design and quiet motor offer great value. However, its limited speed means it won’t work as a treadmill for those looking for maximum exertion from their runs. Likewise, due to its smaller profile, those with a longer stride could also find it less useful. However, if you’re simply looking to get basic use from your treadmill in the form of gentler runs and high-tempo walks, the Mobvoi Home Treadmill’s price, versatility and build quality make it very worthy of your consideration.

The ProForm Cabon HIIT H7 is an intriguing piece of kit that can double as both an elliptical trainer and a stair master machine. The compact vertical design won’t take up too large a footprint in your personal space either. While the machine’s versatility is undoubtedly one of its strong points, those seeking guidance through classes and workouts may be a little underwhelmed by the range of iFit workouts dedicated to the machine, as opposed to more general purpose running-style workouts.
Build quality for the ProForm Cabon HIIT H7 is very good, with the high-quality materials offering a durable feel and great tactile experience, although the lack of a phone holder will irk some users who wish to have unfettered access to their screens during a workout. At the time of writing, ProForm are offering the Cabon HIIT H7 for free with a three-year iFit subscription, which is a great deal, providing you’re planning to make the most of the subscription app’s features.
With the 10-inch vertical elliptical stepping path able to simulate stair climbing and boxing, you’ll certainly find new ways to push yourself with the Cabon HIIT H7, whilst the magnetic resistance system offers quiet workouts, even when you’re pushing the pace. If you’re looking for a low-impact, high-intensity form of indoor training, the Cabon HIIT H7 is a model that you won’t want to overlook.
This machine is currently in the process of being reviewed. Once we have tested it, this guide will be updated accordingly.
Resistance training vs cardio exercise
Most of the machines outlined above are cardio machines, which means they’re focused on getting you hot and sweaty during a workout. This kind of exercise leads to a high calorie burn – but your best bet for a fit and functional body is to combine this kind of cardio workout with resistance training.
“Both aerobic and resistance training have benefits outside of pure energy burn that make them helpful for fat loss,” explains Emily Servante, global trainer education manager at Ultimate Performance (opens in new tab).
“For example, both will improve your body’s ability to process, store and utilise carbohydrates rather than store them as fat. Both types of exercise also have a sort of ‘after burn’ effect that means your body carries on burning energy at a higher rate for several hours after you’ve finished the exercise.”
Resistance training will also help ensure that you maintain muscle while you lose fat. Servante recommends incorporating it two to three times per week in your schedule.
Calorie intake and output
If you want to lose weight, you’ll need to achieve a calorie deficit. This means you need to burn more calories through exercise and your day-to-day activities than you consume through food. But is it better to focus on increasing your energy expenditure or lowering your calorie consumption?
“In terms of fat loss, restricting food intake alone is not very effective as it requires severely cutting calories and small errors can knock you off course,” explains Servante. “Likewise, only increasing your output would require a super high level of activity, which is unrealistic and unsustainable for most people. This is why we use a combination of the two to create the calorie deficit you need to create weight loss.”
Weight loss vs fat loss
“Any form of exercise that burns calories will help you lose weight,” says Servante. “But it doesn’t necessarily mean it will help you lose fat.”
If you want to make sure you’re shedding fat while maintaining muscle, Servante says it’s crucial to include some resistance training in your workout schedule. Make sure you’re hitting each body part multiple times during the week, to ensure you’re retaining muscle – aim for two to three sessions over seven days.
Accompany this with a calorie reduction of around 15-20% and a gentle increase in your activity levels, either through informal activities (such as upping your step count) or structured cardio (using one of the above machines). You can also try a combination of both types of cardio.
How will you know you’re on track? Well, you should see your weight gradually drop by 0.5 – 1% each week according to Servante, although bear in mind that all bodies are different so your progression might look different. Creating a sustainable, realistic and enjoyable routine is key to staying fit and healthy.

The sole f80 Review
Hey, treadmill reviews calm. Today we are looking at the sole f80. This is one of our top picks for treadmills under $ 1500. So this machine is super easy to assemble, which is one of the reasons we like it.
Tumblr media
One person can put it together very quickly with just a little bit of help from a second when putting on the console. It'S super sturdy and it has a very high weight capacity at 375 pounds. There'S a 3.5 CHP motor in this treadmill, the frame, deck and motor have a lifetime.
Warranty parts have five years and labor has two. It also has a larger running surface. Most machines we look at are about 20 inches by 60. This is a 22 by 60-inch running surface. It'S also super quiet, so it runs about 60 to 78 decibels. [ Music ] all right, so the sole f80 is a folding treadmill and for people who don't have a dedicated space for their treadmill.
This is great feature. It'S really easy to fold: it's really easy to move, so you can kind of store it away and move it out of the way. We'Ll show you how that works, but there's a bar right here on the back end, if you don't grab the bar you'll, probably pinch your fingers, so you just cannot grab the bar, which is every other machine.
It'S really easy. It'S right here and it lifts super easy. If there's a hydraulic in there that helps you, you just stick it up and you'll hear it. Click into place and it'll sit all day itself. So, even if you pull on this, it's not gon na fall down. There'S a latch right here, which you pull to release and I'll show you that in just a second, but I want to show you how you can move this machine really easily. There'S four wheels so two in the front, and then these two back here you can place your foot and pull it down and wiggle it around this way.
You can also slide it this way, so it moves really easy um if you're just pulling it. You know side to side and not doing like massive moving I'll show you an easy way to move it too. If you pull this lever and the machine will lower itself with the hydraulic, so it goes down nice and slow if you're, just gon na slide it back and forth like out of a closet or just out of the way, it's really really easy to move like This it's just it's super light, so you can move it all by yourself.
Okay, now we're going to take a look at the features that the sole f80 treadmill has they're a little underwhelming, but it has everything you need to get a good workout in right.
Here. We have two fans and they're kind of pointless, especially if you're tall you're, not gon na, feel it. You have to sound really close to the console, while you're running to get anything out of there, so you're gon na expect to need a different fan. Next to your treadmill, if you want to breathe while you're running, there's five storage, cubbies, so one two and then three four five down here on the bottom, so a lot of space to hold your water bottles. There'S also this tray right here.
If you want to set your phone or your tablet or your book down the little lips, so that'll hold that on there, for you there's a nine inch LCD, backlit display and then, as far as heart rate monitors go. They have the handles where you can hold and check your heart rate. It also comes with this polar heartrate. Chest strap monitor, so this thing's really great when you're exercising cuz tracking your heart rate.
This way is the most accurate way you can do it. However, with this one there's a little bit of a lag time when you're first starting to run, it takes a couple minutes to display an accurate reading, it's kind of all over the board for the first minute or two, while it adjusts to picking up the rhythm Of your heart rate for the incline and the decline, you have these buttons right here for just a quick adjust one three, five, seven it skips up, but you can do larger integers for changing your incline right here.
They also have a smaller integer change. With these up and down buttons on the handlebar, if you use the handlebars a lot, they can sometimes get in your way, so you just have to get used to not grabbing on to the handlebar right here.
The same goes for the speed, so you can go and in a whole miles per hour and then some for changing speeds right here and then you can in a tenth of a mile per hour, if you're, using these up and down arrows right here on the Handle but this name goes, as you know, the decline kind of in the way, but you just have to get used to it.
There'S an mp3 plug where you can plug your phone or mp3 player in here, and it will project the sound from your speakers. So there's two speakers: there's no volume control on the console, so you'll have to adjust it with your device. It'S a little a little strange and then we can't really figure out a good application for this headphones jack.
If you want to plug your music in here, you could project it through your headphones here. Maybe that's a better option for some people if their cord gets in the way, there's really no other application for it, but that's it for the features.
The sol-fa TM has a nine inch LCD backlit display screen. It shows you your incline and distance, and over here it shows you your speed and calories burned with your overall time. This is just a standard track and it shows your progress as you're running it laps around a track.
Any workout that you select will show you like your speed and your incline variation here on this graph.
Then it shows your heart rate right here and then your heart rate zone, so whatever percentage your heart rate is at the you know, based on your heart rate zones, is gon na. Tell you what kind of workout you're getting so right now I have the chest strap line and it starts out a little a little wonky but as you've been running for a minute or two it'll, really sync, with your heart rate and so it'll give you a Good accurate read it just takes a second to get there to access their programs.
They have all the buttons right here. So there's a manual and then five standard settings you just hit, you know like he'll and it has one workout for a hillclimb fat burn. Cardio strength, interval, they're all the same.
You hit the button and it's one workout. You don't have to go through a bunch options or pick which one which can be a downside if you're looking for more options versus like beginner intermediate advanced the upside to this.
It'S a great machine for somebody who wants to step on the treadmill, push a button and start running, there's just no fuss with it. These two programs are for individual users, where you can customize your workout based on.
You know certain certain stats about yourself and then you can also do a heartrate customized workouts, where you set a target heart rate, and then you do your exercise from there. There are also incline options right here where you can adjust your incline and then the speed right here where you can go up and down with your speed as well.
So this is basically, you know a classic treadmill. It'S not super tech, heavy, it's great for people who just want to you know, get on and start running other machines that are more of a tech. Heavy machine are geared towards those who are comfortable with a tablet, and if you're, not somebody who's comfortable with that, you'd probably feel a lot more comfortable on the sole f80.
All right. So now we're gon na. Take you through the sole f80 as it's actually going, so you can get a good feel for the sound any of the noise output output. We'Re gon na turn on some music through the speakers.
So you can hear how that works and also show you the incline and decline and the speed capabilities. This treadmill can go from 0 to 12 miles per hour.
The incline that goes from a zero to a 15 % incline, so we're gon na start with the fan. Actually, you can hear the noise from the fan to kind of see what it does again. It'S just kind of pointless, but we'll show you anyway, so it has one setting you just turn it on makes a little bit of noise.
You can kind of see the power, but not really so we'll just turn that off and then with the music. We have a phone plugged in so that we can project it and there's no volume control on the console. So that's something you have to do from your device. So there's a little taste of that.
I'M going to go ahead and turn it on to a three with the manual setting and push start. Okay, so it'll go up to a three and we'll take it all the way to the 15 percent incline [, Music ]. One thing that I don't love about. This machine is that the handlebars don't extend very far back, so I feel a little insecure walking on it because my feet easily hit this belt cover.
So I have to stand back which takes me away from the handlebars.
That'S something that you can get used to. If you're an excellent runner - and you don't plant your foot in front of yourself - then it's you probably don't have to worry about it, but it is a consideration. So this is at 15 % incline, and this is the max that it'll go and you can't hit a zero just to take it all the way back to a flat.
The lowest interval it has is a 1, and then you have to use the arrows to get all the way back to a zero.
Ok, so that's a 1 and you just bump it down again and you can get it to 0 and then I'll increase the speed and you can listen for the sound that it makes as you run, [ Music ]. So this is not seven miles per hour, so this machine also comes with a cushion flex suspension.
You can probably see the tread balancing as I'm running, but it's not a huge cushion, there's a little bit there. But if you hop off this and keep running on pavement, it's still, you know. They'Re pretty similar, so it's not a huge ad for their cushion flex.
Another thing that we noticed is that their side rails are super slippery. So if you have a shoe with a lot of tread on it, it might not be as big of a problem, but that is something to watch out for as well
The bottom line is that the sole f80 is a really good treadmill. It'S got a super solid, build and a very strong motor. If you are at a higher weight, then this is gon na, be a great machine for you, because it has one of the highest weight capacities and if you're not looking for something, that's really tech heavy. It is a great simple machine that you can get on and get a good workout with, and it's gon na last you for a long time.
All these reasons are why this is one of our top picks for treadmills under $ 1500 to read our full review.

My Minute-by-Minute Interval Workout
Period runs are among my favored workouts. The advantages of interval training countless and also very darn convincing, but for me they basically provide a reliable way to make one of the most from my (minimal) time. This high-impact, yet convenient routine takes under 30 minutes as well as, if you're into that type of point, will shed means over 500 calories (not even counting the remainder you'll burn after that).
After viewing leading fitness instructors in Los Angeles a few years back do some insane stuff on the treadmill in their precious few minutes in between clients, I made some buddies, asked about, shook some hands, kissed some babies, as well as finally attained a minute-by-minute rundown of exactly what the hell they were doing as well as why they promised by it. Considering that then, I've altered and adjusted it to fit myself. Here's specifically just what I do:
Start the treadmill in hands-on method. You'll supervise. Set it to a typical running (not fast strolling) speed (S). For now, allow's state that's 6.5 miles per hour. This is your warmup.
00:00 - 02:30 Warmup running customarily at S6.5 (or up until you hang).
02:30 - 03:00 After heating up, stand on the siderails. Shift the treadmill to incline (I) 9 (or higher) & S9 (or higher). These can increase as you get more comfy or on days you really feel much better (and even relying on the machine). Some individuals encourage setting the slope high as the treadmills enables. That's incredible. But not necessary.
03:00 - 03:15 Jump on (make sure you've done a couple of test strokes with one food so you have an excellent sense of how quick it's going) and sprint as quick as you can for 15 seconds.
03:15 - 04:00 Embark on the belt as well as back into the siderails. Breathe. Enjoy the break. That was fast, however you could still conveniently catch your breath. Do not stress. This will certainly change.
04:00 - 04:15 Total your second 2nd 15 2nd sprint.
04:15 - 05:00 The 2nd break.
05:00 -05:15 The 3rd 15 second sprint.
05:15 - 06:00 3rd break.
06:00 - 06:15 Fourth 15 2nd sprint.
06:15 - 07:00 4th break.
07:00 - 07:15 Fifth 15 second sprint.
07:15 - 08:00 5th break.
08:00 - 08:15 6th 15 2nd sprint.
08:15 - 10:00 Biiig break. You're gon na repeat the 6x short-term intervals you did before, now with 20 second sprints & 40 second breaks.
10:00 - 10:20 1st 20 second sprint (still at the same #s you had in the past, I9 & S9-- or wherever you have actually moved this to).
10:20 - 11:00 1st 40 second break (still standing on the siderails).
11:00 - 11:20 Second 20 second sprint.
11:20 - 12:00 2nd break.
12:00 - 12:20 3rd 20 second sprint.
12:20 - 13:00 3rd break.
13:00 - 13:20 4th 20 2nd sprint (ought to be a genuine difficulty to muster up the essential energy by this factor).
13:20 - 14:00 4th break.
14:00 - 14:20 Fifth 20 second sprint.
14:20 - 15:00 5th break.
15:00 - 15:20 6th (and also FINAL!) 20 2nd sprint.
15:20 -17:00 Biiiig break. Woah. Tough part's over.
17:00 - 17:30 30-second long sprint ... but you can not use your arms. Hold the imprison front of you as well as simply pump those legs. Make certain to maintain your hips under your breast & control your breathing.
17:30 - 18:30 Hinge on the siderails. Breathe a lot.
18:30 - 19:00 2nd 30-second sprint (again, no arms).
19:00 - 20:30 Breathe. Change the treadmill pull back to that jogging rate (S6.5, for instance) and afterwards match that with the slope, so I6.5.
20:30 - 22:30 1st 2-minute jog. This must seem way easier, a minimum of about just what you have actually been doing. It's for endurance ... and also should be tough, however manageable, too.
22:30 - 23:30 Rest.
23:30 - 25:30 Second 2-minute jog.
25:30 - 26:30 Rest.
26:30 - 28:30 3rd 2-minute jog.
28:30 - 30:00 (or whenever) Stroll it off. I generally put the treadmill down to I0 as well as S4 and also walk as long as I feel like it.
And you're done. 30 mins. You never have the time to get bored (or do anything else, actually, yet enjoy that timer). I additionally think it's a dreadful bunch of enjoyable. The real secret? Ignore everyone else. You need to be puffing, stopping and also starting, and essentially running as quick as you potentially can for brief bursts ... which looks type of ridiculous as compared to, oh, every person else in the health club that's jogging at a constant pace. Don't stress. They're impressed. They really did not even understand someone could run that fast!
* The speed and also slope numbers are flexible. Pick what jobs best for you then slowly work up. I started at S8 & I8 as well as am now, relying on exactly how I feel that day, floating around S10 & I10. Making it easier, raise the remainder times (or, making it harder, lower them). Periods are all regarding pressing on your own as hard as you can recognizing there's a break ideal around the corner.
* Also, some treadmills are established to quit 20+ seconds after they've recognized there's nobody on. Don't worry. Merely strike the button it suggests you press and/or pump one leg on it every 20 secs approximately and the treadmill will remember you're on there (and also killing it).
* This can additionally be put on almost any type of various other cardio workout, from the elliptical machine to the bike. This routine was constructed for the treadmill, but locate whatever you like doing ideal as well as stick with it!
