What would a 2p Pakistan look like?
I don’t have a design for his 2p version and i don’t think i’m going to be making one any time soon. 2p! means the opposite of the original right?
If that’s the case then 2p!Pakistan is definitely going to be downright evil and radicalized xD Yep, no redeeming qualities there. His 2p! would be a violence-addict and an asshole all around. (But that’s how most 2ps are, right?)

2p India
Name: Yatin Varma
Age: 26 human, 2600 nation
Height: 5’9
Weight: 161 lbs.
Appearance: Similar to his 1p, Yatin has pale brown skin and has a bindi on his forehead. Compared to his 1p, Yatin differs with his jungle green eyes and grey hair. It strikes many normal people as odd, because he looks young and yet he has grey hair. It is all natural and he likes how it sets him apart.
Yatin doesn’t have any scars. He is one of the few 2ps that managed to avoid the repeated damage to one specific part of his body. It makes him one of the handsomest 2ps and he wears this fact with pride.
Yatin has glasses. They are a simple, round, black framed glasses. He really likes them, especially since they have transition lens and those are really cool.
He usually wears sherwanis. The dark tones of his clothing help create an aura of confidence and the flow of the outfit just matches his personality. Other times he is known to wear his achkan during more formal events and during meetings. Just like most achkan it is white with golden accents. When he is home for the day, Yatin likes to wear a kurta. It keeps him cool in the Indian heat.
Personality: Yatin has a lot of pride in his skills and looks. It does not take much to get him to brag about his appearance or his skills. It is annoying because some days a compliment sends him on a long tangent. Those never end well unless it is someone meeting him for the first time. Even then there could still be fights.
Even though he is prideful, Yatin is surprisingly calm. He makes it a point to not allow anyone to cause an emotional rise out of him. His bragging can be caused by his emotions, but they aren’t intense and that is why most of his bragging happens in small bursts. Over the centuries Yatin has seen the benefits of staying calm.
No one is as prepared as Yatin. He is someone that has a plan for a plan. Even when he fails, Yatin has a plan to assure the he comes out on top in the end. His preparedness has taught him to play the long game and that is what makes him terrifying.
Dead: Just because he has grey hair doesn’t mean he is going to die soon.
Weapon: Aadipta and Bhuj
Family:  Pakistan and Bangladesh
ETC: He owns an elephant just like his 1p. Though his is a bull elephant named Aadipta. The two work like a well oiled machine. Similar to Belgium and her bike, Yatin will ride and use Aadipta in battle. It is terrifying to many because one second you will be staring down Yatin and the next you are being beat down by an elephant.
Yatin continuously goes over battle plans. He is someone that likes to be ready for any scenario, and various drills help maintain instincts that could be the difference between life and death. To do this Yatin will take two small platoons and runs drills. They are set up into teams and are expected to run through the same scenario as the enemy and then flip. It is exhausting when some of the scenarios last for at a time.
Some nations will threaten to scar up Yatin. This usually happens when he goes on his bragging for long periods of time. It usually gets him to shut up, but there are times when he challenges their threat. So far, Yatin has been lucky. Though even he wonders if his luck will run out.

Welcome! Today on “Worldbuilding for Female Nations” we’re going to talk about just where these wonderful, amazing ladies are located!
Remember, there are 69 female nations on the 1P side, and 69 female nations on the 2P side - so, 138 ladies in total! On the 1P side, there are 138 male nations, and 138 male nations on the 2P side - so, 276 gents in total!
(Note: This assumes all nations have a 2P, which is not always the case. But, to simply the math, we’ll say the number of 1Ps and 2Ps match.)
So, let’s start with Asia!
Including 2Ps, there are 60 male nations and 34 female nations in Asia.
Central Asia - aka the Five Stans, an illustrious club which does not include Afghanistan or Pakistan - are split with 4 males and 6 females.
East Asia only has the Taiwan ladies, so that means 14 males and 2 females.
South Asia has 10 males and 6 females.
Southeast Asia, meanwhile, has a meager 8 males and 12 females! (Yay, go ladies!)
And in Western Asia we have 24 males and only 14 females.
Onto the Americas!
Including 2Ps, there are 64 male nations and 12 female nations in the Americas.
North America weighs in with 44 male nations and 8 female nations.
South America, meanwhile, has 20 male nations and 4 female nations.
Special Note: In South America, we finally have a very clear trend that suggests an environmental factor at play. The only two nations with female representatives are Bolivia and Peru, both of whom have a considerably high percentage of indigenous peoples.
And in North America, South Mexico and Guatemala are both represented by women for that same reason.
Let’s hop over to Africa now.
Including 2Ps, there are 64 males and 50 females in Africa.
In South Africa, there are 12 male and 10 females.
North Africa, meanwhile, has 10 males and 6 females.
In East Africa, which includes the Horn of Africa, there are 16 males and 12 females.
Interestingly, the island nations of East Africa - Mauritius, Seychelles, and Comoros - are all women.
Equatorial Africa has 8 males and 4 females.
And then there’s West Africa, with 16 males and 18 females.
Again, we notice that the island nations of Cape Verde and Sao Tome are both represented by women.
And onto Oceania!
Including 2Ps, there are 18 males and 10 females in the Oceanic region.
So, at least in this region, being an island nation does not seem to significantly influence the biological sex of the nation.
And finally there is Europe. Good ol’ Europe with a whopping 68 males and 24 females. I’m not even going to bother dividing that up into regions, because it’s sad and depressing.

It pays to be popular as 3 launches advanced idea
3, the UK’s leading mobile media business, is shocking the mobile market yet once again with the launch of an innovative service that, for the very first time, pays consumers to get calls and texts.
When a consumer gets a five-minute call, they make sufficient credit to send out 2 texts, or send out an image message or view the highlights from 2 episodes of Coronation Street.
The brand-new pay-as-you-go rate service from 3 - called ‘WePay’ - will see consumers rewarded with a money credit for calls and texts they get. With 5p per minute for calls gotten and 2p per text got, it actually does pay to be popular on 3.
Graeme Oxby, 3′s Marketing Director, describes: “It pays to be popular. Anybody who routinely gets calls and texts might wind up far better off by relocating to 3. You get, we pay up; it’s as basic as that.”
In reaction, customers have actually needed to embrace progressively advanced methods to discover the very best worth, from just utilizing their mobiles off-peak to owning a number of various handsets on a range of networks and tariffs. Continental Research’s Autumn 2005 Mobile Report recommends that as lots of as 5.9 million customers in the UK now bring more than one phone.
Clients declare their money credit each time they acquire a brand-new WePay Top-up coupon - the credit can then be utilized to buy any 3 services, from texts and contacts us to purchasing music tracks and enjoying TELEVISION on their mobiles.
WePay is the next advancement in 3′s objective to bring much better worth to UK mobile users. The pre-pay market is infamously made complex with a wide variety of tariffs and special deals.
“ The intro of WePay implies we’ve raised the bar on fulfilling devoted PAYG consumers and at the very same time developed a method for everybody to take pleasure in music and TELEVISION on their mobile.”
3 created WePay, in mix with low outgoing call and text rates and the biggest variety of 3G handsets offered on pay-as-you-go, to produce an engaging factor for customers who make and get a great deal of calls and messages to transfer to 3, port their number and usage 3 as their only network.
   How it works ...
A consumer on WePay who gets 100 minutes of calls and 50 texts a month will make ₤ 6.00 credit. She or he can declare their money credit when they acquire a brand-new WePay Top-up, and the credit can then be utilized to buy any 3 services.
Marketing Director Graeme Oxby continued: “Because the procedure can be sluggish, just a portion of individuals on PAYG port their number when they get a brand-new phone. Our brand-new benefit for getting calls and texts makes it beneficial for customers to move their number.”
The WePay tariff is offered from 1 February 2006.
It presently takes a minimum of 7 days to port your number in the UK, whereas in other nations such as Ireland and Pakistan, it takes simply a number of hours.
As part of its brand-new Pay-as-you-go service, 3 will likewise introduce a variety of trendy brand-new handsets created by designer Roberto Cavalli for its PAYG clients.

Realme launched its third smartphone in Pakistan this month – Realme 3, following the first two entrants earlier this year dubbed Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1. While the company entered Pakistani market this year, it had started operations earlier in India and other regions. Hence the Realme 3 is a successor to the company’s Realme 2 which wasn’t launched in Pakistan.
Expecting soon another smartphone, Realme 3 Pro, a successor to the 2 Pro in Pakistan, Realme 3 is currently the company’s most recent contender among the budget market. The phone’s lower variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage retails at PKR 23,000. However the company also offered this model for even less during the first sale from Daraz.pk.
There is also another variant of the phone with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and that costs PKR 29,000. Interesting fact is that the only difference between the two variants is the RAM and storage. Otherwise you get everything identical from both the variants.
If you are still thinking about the brand and its reputation, then I guess you also need to know that it’s like the Honor sub-brand name for Huawei and Redmi sub-brand name for Xiaomi. They same way, “Realme” is the sub-brand of OPPO. It’s powered with OPPO’s ColorOS as well. Now I believe you know the company very well, right?
So the question is, would you prefer a 4GB RAM and 64GB storage with 26% extra cost? Well the answer is not that simple because in the price range you may also have other options from other brands with a bit of trade-offs. However the fact is, the price of 3GB model is attractive because in its price, the Helio P60 processor is a deal-done event.
Though the phone we have here for review, is the 4GB model, you shouldn’t expect a significant difference in performance. However the more the RAM, the more tasks the phone can run simultaneously. On the other hand, the large storage capacity is also a welcome element in today’s date because everybody likes to take pictures and record videos, without even deleting the crap ones instantly.
So I have just told about two factors that may require you to buy an expensive variant. If you are just an easy dude who can manage cleaning the recent apps and does not take a lot of unneeded photos or doesn’t store a bundle of heavy games, you are good to go with a 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage.
If you haven’t seen our unboxing session of Realme 3, you shouldn’t miss that because we’re not covering that here in detail. Also you would learn about our initial thoughts about the phone.
[iframe width=”850″ height=”470″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/VerZaMqPi2M” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen=”yes”]
Right now we have told you the basic and important difference between two variants of Realme 3 that you may choose to buy. You have also watched our unboxing session with our first impressions. But that’s not everything you needed to know before you buy. Sure, you want to learn more about how does the Realme 3 performs in all aspects including system performance, power management, and of course the camera performance. Well, you are just at the right place.
Just before moving, have quick look on the package content you are gonna get with Realme 3.
Realme 3 – the device
5V/2A charger
Micro USB connectivity cable
Silicone back cover
Quick User Guide
SIM eject tool
Realme 3 Unboxed
Let’s have quick look at the specifications and features of the Realme 3.
Quick Features and Specifications
Realme 3 SoC Chip: Helio P60 (12nm) – MediaTek MT6771 CPU: 4x Cortex-A73 2.0GHz + 4x Cortex-A53 2.0GHz GPU: Mali G72 MP3 Memory 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage 4GB RAM + 64GB Storage microSD card dedicated slot (up to 256GB) OS / Software Android 9 Oreo / ColorOS 6.0 Display 6.2-inch IPS LCD 1520×720 HD+ resolution, 19:9, Pixel density: ~271 ppi Screen-to-body ratio: ~81.9% Rear Camera 13MP 1/3″ PDAF Sensor, f/1.8 lens aperture 2MP depth sensor for portrait mode. 720p/1080p video recording at 30fps Front Camera 13MP 1/3″ sensor, f/2.0 lens aperture Battery 4230 mAh 5V/2A (10-watt) charging Size/Weight 156.1 x 75.6 x 8.3 mm / 175 grams Sensors Fingerprint sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity, Ambient light, E-Compass, Gyroscope Connectivity WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n, 2.4GHz WiFi Tethering, Hotspot Bluetooth: 4.2, GPS/AGPS, FM Radio, USB 2.0 micro USB, USB-OTG Color Options Radiant Blue and Dynamic Black
Realme originally comes in three colors including Radiant Blue, Dynamic Black and Classic Black. But here in Pakistan you will have two options the Radiant Blue or Dynamic Black.
Helio P60 or Helio P70?
Well this is also a big question about the Realme 3 that it was originally launched with MediaTek Helio P70 which was a successor chipset of Helio P60. But the Realme 3, in Pakistan, was launched with the Helio P60 chip. When we reached out to the company for this concern, they literally responded with some logical reason which was the cost.
We already knew that both the chipsets are identical, packing the same CPU architecture, same GPU and APU. But only a minor increase in clock speed of the performance cores of Helio P70 with the claim of better AI performance.
On the other hand, we have trialed a variety of devices running on Helio P70 and Helio P60, both were were pretty much similar in day to day performance as well as on the benchmark scores.
So we believe if you get a significant price impact with only a minor performance difference, you really should go for the lower price.
Should we move on?
Realme 3 Build and Design
Realme 3 has unibody design with a plastic back panel and mid-frame. All the color variants have the back panels with their own certain types. The one we have here for review – the Dynamic Black comes with the “Starry Particles” as an important factor.
The upper parts is all black while the lower part of the panel has that night-blue accent with shinning stars inspired by the milky way. “The precious particles give the phone shell starry surface as well as magical chameleon effect.”
The fingerprint sensor is on the back at the upper part along side the dual-camera module that also hosts an LED flash. You can see a golden circle around the main camera which just for a visual distinction and nothing else.
The grip and handling is comfortable with the less-slippery back panel, while the 3D curved back panel helps better when you need to pick the phone up from some surface.
Components and Ports
Realme 3 hosts the Micro USB port along with the loud speaker and 3.5mm audio jack at the bottom. There is also a mouthpiece (primary mic). The power button is on the right side of the phone but the volume rocker is on the left along side the SIM slot.
#gallery-0-31 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-31 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 33%; } #gallery-0-31 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-31 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
I have always liked the power button and volume rocker on the right side of the phone. But it’s a preference, and you may like the way it is on Realme 3. We don’t have anything on the top side of the phone.
The SIM slot serves with a dedicated dual-SIM and one microSD card expansion tray. That means you can use all of them all along at once.
This is something better than the hybrid SIM slot on most phones.
Front and Display
I may have mentioned earlier in previous reviews that the only notch I like on smartphones is the dewdrop one – referred as water-drop by OPPO and Halo by Vivo. As expected, this tiny notch houses a single front-facing camera with an earpiece between the screen and the body.
#gallery-0-32 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-32 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-32 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-32 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Thin bezels like these ones are now common as we know already. The bottom chin is still present with some space.
Realme 3 features a 6.2-inch display with aspect ratio of 19:9. It comes with HD+ display resolution of 1520 x 720 pixels serves with the pixel density of around 270 ppi. Realme says it has 88.3% screen-to-body ratio which does not include the the frame outside the screen. But when we include the the full front profile to calculate the display area ratio, it comes out as around 81%.
Realme 3 packs with an IPS LCD panel but its outdoor visibility is also good. Resolution is not something that you might be impressed with but in this price range this is something which you really look for. Higher resolution displays with mid-range processors is not a good combination for long term battery performance as well as gaming.
HD resolution is quite good for most type of content on screen. Not that bad for reading but also helps with the battery. Graphics performance comes out as better as the GPU has to render pixels on the screen.
Software and User Interface
Realme 3 runs Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box. Having its family relation with OPPO, this phone or any other Realme phone comes with OPPO’s ColorOS. Realme 3 comes with the latest ColorOS 6. The new ColorOS has revamped totally that the home screen look like a stock Android one but many other elements are visually changed with large and flat icons.
To give a quick glimpse, here is the notification panel with the large toggle switches.
The phone starts with a lock screen, unlock to go to home screens, the folders, and multitask view and so on. Those who always wished for an app drawer in their OPPO smartphones, or Realme ones, it’s there now. The new ColorOS 6 now offers you an option to switch between the standard mode or drawer mode.
#gallery-0-33 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-33 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 20%; } #gallery-0-33 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-33 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Realme 3, ColorOS 6 – Lock screen, standard home screen, home screen style switcher, home screen with app drawer
The far left screen offers to enable or disable Smart Assistant of ColorOS, however the Google Now app can be opened from settings. Folders on the home screen are just same as before but unlike before now they have sharp and straight user interface with no rounded corners.
Recent apps view is just like before with big cards, however you can opt to display RAM/memory information on this screen from settings.
#gallery-0-34 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-34 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-34 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-34 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Realme 3, ColorOS 6 – Smart Assistant, Folder view, Recent Tasks, Recent Tasks with memory information
The new system comes with a new navigation keys layout with no Recent tasks key by default. There is a back key, and home key but instead of recent tasks key, you need to perform a swipe-up gesture on the blank key spot to bring up the recent tasks view. But you can switch back to standard back, home and recent apps keys layout from the settings if you want. By the way, I liked to stay with this and it was easily adaptive.
#gallery-0-35 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-35 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-35 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-35 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Realme 3, ColorOS 6 – Default navigation keys layout, navigation layout options or gesture based navigation
Complete gesture based navigation control set is also available like other smartphones. However split-screen function has the impact of default navigation keys layout. You might have been used to with the long-tap recent tasks key to trigger split-screen feature. Well that function is still present if you switch back to the standard navigation keys layout from the settings. But the default keys layout doesn’t offer the recent apps key, you may need to swipe-up and bring the recent tasks view. There you can use the card menu to trigger the split-screen.
#gallery-0-36 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-36 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-36 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-36 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Additionally you can use the three-finger swipe-up gesture on the compatible app, to trigger the split-screen.
Here is the completely new notification panel with white background and colorful toggles and switches. I wish there was a dark theme as well, hoping it to ship via a software update soon. It’s only the visually change. Experience wise, it’s just same as before – you can change and rearrange toggles and switches.
#gallery-0-37 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-37 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-37 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-37 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Then there is also a Smart Sidebar that you can turn on for quick access to you favorite apps and features.
ColorOS 6 keeps my favorite feature in the File Manager – the ftp based remote file manager that you can access via web browser or the file explorer on your computer. Phone manager with all its features is also present. The security features include App Lock, Kid Space and Private Safe.
For improved gaming experience, there is also a Game Space which is now included in every other Android smartphone. If you didn’t know it actually prioritize the system performance for gaming when you are playing.
#gallery-0-38 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-38 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-38 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-38 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Overall the software is good to play with. A special “Realme” touch is not present but you are bound to get everything OPPO builds into the system as long as the system supports it.
Realme 3 does have a fingerprint sensor on its back which is really fast and provides a good experience with accurate recognition. In addition, the phone also support face unlock which is equally and impressively fast.
System Performance
Something that you really need from your smartphone, is the performance. Realme 3 comes with the MediaTek Helio P60 which is comparable with Snapdragon 660 smartphones. Overall the system was fluent with every day task in Realme 3.
The phone features the Mali-G72 GPU along with the 4GB of RAM. The 720p resolution was a good match for the processo. However our previous experience with Helio P60 devices was better in gaming. The famous PUBG Mobile did actually lag in our Realme 3 experience. Considering the fact that we previously didn’t had that kind of experience with this chipset, I believe it’s just a optimization that may fix the issue via simply a software update.
Other titles were just fine playing on Realme 3, However this certain device wasn’t compatible with Asphalt 9. If you are looking for benchmark numbers, then why not take a look at the benchmark scores below.
AnTuTu: 132709
Geekbench Single-core: 1419
Geekbench Multi-core: 5078
3D Mark – Sling Shot Extreme (OpenGL ES 3.1): 1123
3D Mark – Sling Shot Extreme (Vulkan): 1068

If optimized well, the Realme 3 should be good for all kind operations as well as gaming. ColorOS 6 still needs optimization but the day to day usage with almost every kind of stuff was fine.
Battery Performance
The 4230 mAh big battery is really a power pack for this phone. The company’s cheaper Realme C1 also had the same battery but the Snapdragon 450 is little less to manage power due to big size of semiconductor. The 12nm process of Helio P60 is actually helpful making the battery last longer. On top of that, as I told you already, the 720p display did its trick to further increase the battery timing.
A bad thing is that phone doesn’t support fast charging but the bundled 10W charger pulls up the battery power to 20-22% in around 30 minutes. A full charge would take up to 3 hours.
Camera
Realme 3 features a dual camera setup on its back with a 13-megapixel main unit paired with a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor. The second camera is mainly for portrait mode that simulates blurred background, aka bokeh effect in close up shots.
The 13MP main camera is the main shooter for almost every occasion. The sensor features phase-detect autofocus with 1.12µm pixel size. There is a large f/1.8 aperture lens and an LED flash for it.
The front camera also equips with a 13MP image sensor for selfies with a nice f/2.0 lens aperture. The front camera comes with a fixed-focus lens like most mobile cameras out there.
Camera UI
Camera UI is what has the biggest makeover in ColorOS 6. It’s totally different, and probably simpler too. The main view finder offers with the three main modes – Photo, Video and Portrait. All of which are available with front camera as well.
Further from the hamburger menu button, you can choose options from nightscape (night mode/long exposure), panorama, expert (pro mode), time-lapse and slo-mo. The front camera only supports panorama and time-lapse.
#gallery-0-40 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-40 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; } #gallery-0-40 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-40 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
Image Quality
Realme 3 captures decent image detail in daylight for its price value. System enhanced vividness is present but not so aggressively. However there is a Chroma Boost option to further enhance the colors which also maintains the image detail. Noise handling was also impressive but images looked little over sharpened.
Outdoor Shots
[slickr-flickr search=”sets” set=”72157678009266147″]
Low-light Shots
[slickr-flickr search=”sets” set=”72157678009266167″]
The camera looses detail in low-light however Night mode comes handy with long exposure shots while hand-held. With standard mode, the camera prefers to stay at 1/25th of the second at minimum for exposure while having the ISO increased. That way you will normally see heavy noise and low-detail in the image. But the Night mode (Nightscape) can go down to 1/9th of a second with low-ISO sensitivity. But you need to be little steady with your hands to get much better night shots.

Conclusion
Well the one liner would be like – the Realme 3 is an impressive contender among its price range. Specially when if we talk about the 3GB variant that costs PKR 23,000 (or 22k in flash sale). 4GB model is also good in 29,000 but that’s the price tag where we usually see the Helio P60 or similar processor line up.
The same processor, when you get for Rs. 23k, is something that should attract the customer. 32GB storage is not that bad. It should be good for most users out there. 4230 mAh battery is also impressive in this price. No fast charging can be quite disappointing but in this price I guess 10-watt charging shouldn’t bother you either.
Camera is also something above the the price range and we usually see such a quality in mid-range phones. The Realme 3 3GB model is indeed a lower mid-range phone and we are really impressed with its offering.
You may give it a try, specially if you are good with 32GB internal storage.
Realme 3 Full Review – Is it really a Budget King? Realme launched its third smartphone in Pakistan this month - Realme 3, following the first two entrants earlier this year dubbed Realme 2 Pro and Realme C1.

30 Photos From Afghanistan That You Won’t See In The News
Traveling in Afghanistan
Afghanistan
Last summer I traveled into the mountains of Afghanistan for a two week backpacking adventure. Not your typical summer vacation destination. Here’s what I witnessed on my journey.
What comes to mind when you think about Afghanistan? War? Terrorism? Osama Bin Laden? The Mother Of All Bombs?
Sure, much of Afghanistan is still dangerous — but there’s also incredible beauty, hospitality and kindness in the country that doesn’t get reported on.
It’s far too easy to vilify or write-off an entire nation when you don’t have to look those people in the eyes. People with the same hopes and dreams as you — to survive, find happiness, and provide for their families.
I was able to experience the positive side of Afghanistan and its wonderful people, up close and personal, during my trip there last summer. It’s since become my most memorable travel adventure to date.
Here are some of my favorite photos of people & landscapes from my 100 mile trek into Afghanistan’s remote and mountainous Wakhan Corridor.
This is the “other” side of Afghanistan that you don’t see in the news.
The Hindu Kush Mountains
Traveling in the Wakhan
Wakhan Corridor
The Wakhan is a rugged and wild region of Northeast Afghanistan, part of Badakhshan Province. It’s a narrow peice of land, about 400 km long, surrounded on three sides by Tajikistan, China, and Pakistan.
Two large mountain ranges dominate the area, the Pamir in the North, and the Hindu Kush in the South. The Wakhan Corridor was created by politicians in the 1800’s during the “Great Game” in an attempt to leave a buffer zone between British India and the Russian empire.
Riding Yaks in the Wakhan
Hitchhiking By Yak
Taking a break from walking, I managed to hitch a ride on a yak for a portion of the route. We ran into a group of Wakhi men leading their yaks through the mountains. While they stopped for tea, they let us borrow their yaks, which we led further into the valley until their owners caught up with us later.
Yaks are the ultimate eco-friendly 4×4 in Afghanistan, able to climb steep rocky terrain and power through icy cold rivers. There are no trees above 10,000 feet, so locals are forced to trek for 3 days to lower elevations with their animals in order to gather firewood for cooking and warmth.
Ruined Stone Shelter on a Vast Landscape
Trekking in the Wakhan
Ancient Silk Road
The Wakhan was once part of the ancient silk road, an important trading route connecting China to Europe. Along with silk, horses, and other goods, it was a highway for armies and explorers too. Explorers like Marco Polo who is believed to have passed through here during the 13th century.
Crossing steep mountain passes and high desolate plateaus, passing caravans of yaks and donkeys loaded with goods, spending the night in stone shelters with traveling merchants — I felt like I was getting a glimpse of what the silk road must have been like all those years ago.
Muslim Shopkeepers in Afghanistan
My Compatriots in the Wakhan
The Many Faces Of Islam
Just like the many different branches of Christianity, there are many different branches of Islam, all with their own beliefs and values. Many people living in Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor are Ismaili Muslims, who practice a moderate form of Islam. They number 25 million worldwide, and despise the Taliban.
Their spiritual leader is the Aga Khan, a successful British businessman and Imam who runs the Aga Khan Development Network, a super important charity organization that improves living conditions and opportunities for the poor in Africa and Central Asia.
Footbridge Over the Wakhan River
Untamed Blue Rivers
The Wakhan River runs through the Wakhan Corridor, fed by the high altitude mountains of the Hindu Kush on the border with Pakistan. It snakes its way through the mountains, and is a major lifeline for the people living in this harsh and unforgiving landscape.
The bright blue color of this water is due to reddish hues of the rock formations around it, as well as the crystal clear source (a glacier). Water molecules absorb other colors, like red, more efficiently than blue.
Enjoying the Wild Landscape
Snowy Mountains in August
Epic Mountain Views
When the weather was clear, I was rewarded with incredible views of the mountains like this! The trail was well worn, as it’s used daily by small groups of locals who travel in caravans of yaks or donkeys from settlement to settlement.
The 10 day trek ranged in altitude from 10,000 to 16,000 feet, and we averaged about 10 miles per day of hiking. I began to feel the effects of altitude on my body around 12,000 feet with shortness of breath. At 16,000 feet hiking became even more tiring and difficult.
Snow Covered Yurts
Kyrgyz Settlement in the Wakhan
Portable Yurts
The Kyrgyz people of Afghanistan are semi-nomadic, moving from valley to valley herding their animals to different grazing pastures depending on the season. They live in cozy yurts made of sheep felt, which can be broken down and transported long distances.
Each settlement consists of 2-3 families living and working together. Originally from the area around Kyrgyzstan, their ancestors were kind of trapped in the Wakhan after the Soviets took over Central Asia, forcibly settled nomadic tribes, and sealed off the silk road route.
Sheer Chai Milk Tea
Salty Milk Tea
Both the Wakhi and Kyrgyz people drink large amounts of salty milk tea, called Sheer Chai. It’s served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Basically, it’s a mix of yak and goat milk, boiled down for hours and dried into a portable block. It’s prepared by adding boiling water, loose-leaf tea, and rock salt.
The salt is great for rehydration at high & dry altitudes — I called it my Afghan Gatorade. It took a while to get used to (salty hot milk anyone?), but by the end of the adventure my body was craving sheer chai for every meal. You can also dissolve raw butter into the tea at breakfast for extra calories.
Petroglyphs in Afghanistan
Afghan Petroglyphs
Near the end of my 2nd day on the trail, we hiked past a set of ancient petroglyphs scrawled into a dark colored boulder overlooking the valley. My local guide, Yar, couldn’t tell me much about them, other than they think these markings are a few thousand years old.
They depict hunting scenes, men armed with what appear to be bows, as well as large game like ibex and the rare Marco Polo sheep. This was just one of many petroglyphs that dot the landscape in these mountains. They are thought to mark ancient hunting grounds claimed by different tribes.
Central Asia Institute School
Kyrgyz Boys Ready for Class
CAI Schools
This simple 3 room school in the remote Afghan village of Bozai Gumbaz was built by Greg Mortenson and his Central Asia Institute. You may have heard of Greg before, he’s the author of the best selling novel Three Cups Of Tea, about building schools for girls in Pakistan.
The school at Bozai Gumbaz, where I spent the night playing cards with Afghan army soldiers, was prominent in his 2nd book, Stones To Schools. The next morning a group of boys showed up on donkeys for class. I saw many CAI schools along the road from Eshkashim to Sarhad-e Broghil.
Camping in Afghanistan
Camping In Afghanistan
As a big fan of the outdoors, one of the highlights on this trip was the opportunity to wild camp in the mountains of Afghanistan. Most nights we were able to stay at small Wakhi or Kyrgyz settlements in basic guest huts, but we also camped out in tents a few nights too.
Normally I’m a camping hammock kind of guy, but because I knew there weren’t going to be any trees for most of this trek, I packed my super lightweight Nemo Hornet 2P Tent. It snowed a few times during the journey — in August!
Greetings From the Heart
Friendly Shopkeeper in Eshkashim
As-Salāmu ʿAlaykum
I was constantly greeted with As-salāmu ʿalaykum which means “peace be upon you”. A shorter version of this is just salām. Shaking hands is common, and so is placing your hand on your heart, which simply means your greeting comes from the heart.
Another important term I used during my journey is taschakor, meaning thank you. I always recommend trying to learn 10 of the most used words in a local language before traveling there. In the Afghan Wakhan, most people speak some Dari (Farsi) along with local dialects.
Afghan Woman Wearing Blue Burka
Wakhi Girl in Sarhad-e Broghil
Women In Afghanistan
Many people were asking if I saw women in Afghanistan. Yes I saw women during my trip, but most were extremely shy, especially if I had my camera out. Plus in their culture, talking with strange men is taboo. But shooting portraits of men or kids was not a problem.
Near the border town of Sultan Eshkashim, which is primarily Sunni Muslim, many women wear the full-length blue burqa that covers their face. In more rural areas of the Wakhan, it’s less strict. Women wear long colorful dresses with a simple headscarf. I was able to say hello and see their faces.
Kyrgyz Tombs at Bozai Gumbaz
Khajahbigali Family Tomb
Shrines & Tombs
I encountered a few ancient burial tombs during my time exploring the Wakhan Corridor. Near the Afghan military outpost of Bozai Gumbaz, there’s a collection of strangely shaped Kyrgyz beehive tombs, along with evidence of Soviet bombing (craters, bomb fragments) from the 1980’s occupation.
At the settlement of Langar, we found a pile of ibex horns marking the burial place of a powerful big man. In Afghanistan, wealthy & powerful men are often called “big men”. It’s a bit like calling someone “boss.” The more animals, land, and wives you have, the “bigger” & more influential you are.
Driving in Afghanistan
Rough Roads
Before I began the 10 day, 100 mile trek through the mountains, I had to hire a 4×4 van to drive me to the last village at the end of the road. We passed a few military checkpoints along the way, stopping for tea & candy with officials before continuing on.
The drive took 2 days, and the roads were some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Dust seeped into the vehicle, covering us in dirt. We forded rivers, drove along the edge of sheer cliffs, and were frequently stopped by huge herds of goats blocking the road. The van suffered 6 flat tires during the journey.
Cooking Lunch in a Stone Shelter
Wakhi Settlement
Wakhi Settlements
While I entered Afghanistan alone, I decided to hire a local translator/guide and horseman to accompany me on the trek into the mountains. It would have been extremely difficult to communicate with people without their help. We spent the night at a few Wakhi settlements during the hike.
Wakhi homes are basically stone huts with dirt floors, constructed using manure for cement. The roof is made of logs, grass, and more manure to keep it waterproof. Some shelters had stoves inside, others just had a fire pit. Either way it was pretty smoky…
Young Afghan Girl in Sarhad
Wakhi Family Living in the Mountains
Children Of The Wakhan
Life in the Wakhan is rough, especially for kids. About 60% of children here die before the age of five, the highest infant mortality rate in the world. If they do survive, they are put to work helping out with the family business — animal herding.
There are a few schools out here, thanks to the Central Asia Institute, but it’s up to the parents if they go. In some communities, only the boys are sent to school. The morning commute can take a few hours by donkey due to the lack of roads and distance between settlements.
Central Asian Bactrian Camel
Wildlife In Afghanistan
I was really hoping to see a snow leopard or Marco Polo sheep while I was traveling through the mountains of Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor. You know, Walter Mitty style! Unfortunately both of these endangered animals are extremely difficult to spot — but I did find camels!
Luckily the Wildlife Conservation Society has staff in the area, often spending weeks in the field gathering data to protect wildlife in the Wakhan. They estimate there are about 100-200 snow leopards living in these mountains. Wolves and bears also call this wilderness home.
The Country You Thought You Knew…
The Other Afghanistan
So there you go. A peek at the other side of Afghanistan that we never see on the nightly news. After traveling the world extensively for the past 6 years, I’ve noticed this is a common theme.
Don’t let our media, which is primarily focused on negative & sensational topics, be your only window into the dynamics of a foreign country you’ve never been to.
I’m not going to tell you that Afghanistan is safe. It’s not. Our troops who’ve served there can tell you. Afghans themselves are well aware of the dangers that plague their country too.
But I think there’s another side to Afghanistan that deserves some attention. The rugged, scenic mountain landscapes. The friendly, hospitable local people.
I’m hopeful for the day when Afghanistan’s problems fade away, and more travelers can safely enjoy the beauty this incredible country has to offer. ★
