Happy Darwin Day!
Since this day is all about Evolution and this project couldn't be finished in time for January 4th, it felt fitting to catch up today, so, behold!
Tumblr media
I believe that even if the petrification hadn't happened, Senkū and Tsutarja (Snivy) would have found each other somehow. (*´ω`*)
And this is the Childhood Friends AU of 3700-years Evolution that nobody asked for, but wished instead for the continuation of the fic! (^~^;)ゞ
Here's a bit of what's happening in the backstage (AKA in my messy ADHD brain):
I'm still going on and off with Writing Author Block (the Artistic part of me is thriving, tho, as demonstrated by the previous picture), so I'm attempting to write Chapter 3... Above all since I finally stopped chickening out of reading the ending of Dr. Stone manga and I found the perfect ending for my crossover...
Which I have already drawn (but not published) the lineart for! 〜(꒪꒳꒪)〜
(Yes, inspiration struck me, I'm weird like that... ┐(´ー`)┌)
That being said, hope you liked this fluffy polaroid taken by one teary Ishigami Byakuya!
Senkū's papa loves him so much! ಥ‿ಥ I mean, look at him! Already so possessive of one of his favorite people! (Much like Tsuta-chan is doing with her vine, tho... (≧▽≦) )
Under the cut there's the version with a couple of mysterious shadows watching over our babies... Who are they? Look at your own risk...

Is Mortal Kombat 11’s EVO 2020 Absence Actually Surprising?
February 5, 2020 1:00 PM EST
With Mortal Kombat 11 being absent from Evo 2020, I was pretty shocked. However, maybe it isn’t as shocking as I initially thought.
Last night, the Evo 2020 game lineup was announced bringing eight modern games and one classic to the biggest fighting game tournament of the year. Just as a reminder, here are the nine games that will be on the big stage:
Street Fighter V: Championship Edition
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Dragon Ball FighterZ
Tekken 7
Soul Calibur 6
GranBlue Fantasy Versus
Samurai Shodown
Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late[cl-r]
Marvel vs. Capcom 2
While there are many games that did not make the cut, there is one standout title that has surprised both the FGC (fighting game community) and the general gaming community. No, it is not Super Smash Bros. Melee. NetherRealm Studios’ 2019 release Mortal Kombat 11 did not make the cut this year for Evo 2020.
Considering how well the game has been doing in terms of sales, critical acclaim, and garnering entries for Evo last year, it seemed like a lock for Evo 2020. But as Evo co-founder Joey Cuellar was revealing the games, with the first four being the shoo-in games for the tournament, it became clear Mortal Kombat 11 wasn’t going to be making the cut. Initially, this was a surprise to me. Mostly because this is the fighting game I’ve followed the most since its release. In my eyes, this community seemed rather active with a presence at every major fighting game tournament. But is Mortal Kombat 11‘s absence really a surprise?
To begin, let’s look at the numbers Mortal Kombat 11 brought in at Evo 2019. Last year, Cuellar posted the final entrant numbers for each game. There were a total of 14,321 entrants split between nine games. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate had the largest pool garnering 3,492 entrants, while BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle had the smallest pool, with 640 entrants. Mortal Kombat 11 had a total of 1,567 entrants, which was roughly 10% of all entrants at Evo 2019.
Evo 2019 Final Numbers! Smash Ultimate – 3492 Street Fighter V – 1929 Tekken 7 – 1885 Samurai Shodown – 1719 Mortal Kombat 11 – 1567 Unist – 1156 DragonBall FighterZ – 1191 Soul Calibur 6 – 742 BlazBlue:CTB – 640#Evo2019
— Joey Cuellar (@MrWiz) July 15, 2019
Assuming bringing in entrants for the event is important for Evo since it makes money from players registering, I do not believe Mortal Kombat 11 was cut because it wasn’t bringing in enough people to the actual event. If that were the case, Soul Calibur VI would have been cut as it only brought in 742 players. Outside of Evo, Mortal Kombat 11 has brought in plenty of entrants to the events that showcase it. It had the second-largest pool with 531 entrants at CEO 2019 and the larget pool at Combo Breaker with 758 entrants.
Since it seems like Mortal Kombat 11 was bringing in people physically to the venue, maybe it wasn’t bringing in enough people to its Twitch stream. Using TwitchTracker.com for the metrics, it seems like the NRS fighter did pretty well. It wasn’t the best out of the bunch, but it certainly was not the worst. At Evo 2019, Mortal Kombat 11 had an average of 51,719 viewers with its peak being 74,987 viewers during its slot on August 3, 2019. There were a total of 466k viewers that popped in during the tournament, with the Evo Twitch channel garnering 3.7K followers during its 4.6-hour duration.
Dragon Ball FighterZ was the other big game that day and actually had an earlier slot. It had over 60k viewers on average, with over 96k viewers at its peak during the Sonic Fox and Go1 final. It did have a lower viewership with 222k viewers in total but garnered more followers for the channel. Depending on one what determines “success” either one of the two could be considered good draws for the tournament.
Even though those aren’t bad numbers, Mortal Kombat 11 certainly did not keep up with Sunday’s competition. Tekken 7 and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate brought in the most viewers and followers overall. But it did do better (in regards to these stats) than Samurai Shodown, UNIST (Under Night In-Birth) and Soul Calibur IV, all of which are present at Evo 2020. So, it couldn’t be that Mortal Kombat 11 doesn’t draw in an online audience.
I did want to see how well Mortal Kombat 11 has done on Twitch in general since it launched last year. It does take a substantial dip between April 2019 (launch month) and July 2019. Since then it has been pretty steady, albeit lower on viewers. In comparison to another fighter that came out last year, Samurai Shodown seems to be maintaining its popularity among its fanbase while Mortal Kombat 11 has dipped pretty substantially. Those probably aren’t the best comparisons considering how much more popular Mortal Kombat 11 was last year, but there is definitely a dip in interest.
But again, that is just looking at it overall. In a tournament setting, people (like myself) start to get hyped and carve out time to watch their favorite games. That being said, I don’t think Mortal Kombat 11‘s absence is a numbers issue. Clearly, there are less popular games that made it on that list.
When the news broke that Mortal Kombat 11, I started seeing a bit of a pattern in regards to how players were treated at Evo 2019 and how it isn’t really all that surprising that the game isn’t going to be there. A sort of separation between the MK players and the rest of the FGC. Here are a few tweets from some of the top Mortal Kombat players suggesting it’s not just because of numbers.
Interesting that MK11 isnt at Evo despite the numbers it pulled last year. I am sensing politics..

I got a few ideas about why MK11 didn’t make the lineup this year, but hey it is what it is….the community wasn’t happy with being there in the first place & tons said we got treated like shit there, so why y’all acting so surprised now? We got what we wanted lol.

Another year, another slap in the face to the MK community from EVO.
But at least they have an MVC2 invitational
Tumblr media
— PXP | A F0xy Grampa (@AF0xyGrampa) February 5, 2020
Also can we please stop with blaming the game on the timeline.
Most entrants ever at CB-CEO-EVO for an NRS game. Non pro tour events have been getting 100+ entrants where as other nrs games would get like 30-40. MK11 isn’t my favorite NRS game but it’s clearly politics.
— CGL Tweedy (@Tweedy_FGC) February 5, 2020
All of these tweets refer to some sort of politics behind the scenes. They also touch on how the Mortal Kombat 11 community was treated while at Evo. None of them really explicitly say how they were mistreated or what sort of politics would be behind the game’s absence at Evo 2020, but it doesn’t come as a big surprise to these players.
Neither NRS or Evo have not yet commented on why Mortal Kombat 11 is being left out this year. And I’m not quite sure if they will. NRS has its own plans for esports, which will probably be announced at the Final Kombat event in March. Maybe NRS wants its competition to be more online-focused like Tweedy mentioned. There could even be some sort of dispute between NRS and Evo that we don’t know about.
Regardless, Evo isn’t the only stage fighting games are played on competitively. It is almost certain Mortal Kombat 11 will be present at other events like Combo Breaker and CES, but I would be lying if I said I’m not a bit bewildered. Tell us why you think Mortal Kombat 11 isn’t going to be at Evo 2020 in the comments below.

Since I'm under no illusion of being able to complete Chapter 4 of 3700-years Evolution in time for Moon Day (because of both Writer Block and my new fixation on drawing), here's a fanart of it!
Tumblr media
(Tsutarja/Snivy isn't particularly happy about how Senkū is following her directives, so she has to discipline her hatchling with light Vine whips! (≧▽≦) )
I did the lineart with pencil on paper, while I tried my hand on coloring with an app @teacupsandstarlight suggested me (she's soooo devious and helpful! ( ˘ ³˘)~♥), so hope it looks alright!
Hopefully, some time soon I will be able to continue the fic I made this fanart on, so fingers crossed and type ya later!

Hey it’s me again! Are you excited that Legends Arceus is out? I been playing it for hours and it’s good. But still get myself mauled by wild Pokémon ALSJALSJA.
I have a question do you think Dr stone characters would have handled against wild aggressive Pokémon in your Fox because I know that Senku had to do strategies of how to handle them meanwhile Taiju or Tsukasa have a fist fight with them.
Hiya @nitkat360 !
I've been fixating on that game, it's soooo good! Aggressive Pokémon are a bane to deal with, I completely agree, you would think that Paras are nice fungi cryptid, but they're totally menaces! (ʘᗩʘ’)
Senkū definitely would have a ten million plus one contingency plans to deal with the wild Pokemon of the area after Snivy/the villagers told him which ones they are (they have more knowledge after all, going blind would be a huge disadvantage, so Senkū would try to gather as much information as he could before attempting anything).
Tsukasa would fight Arceus himself if he had to, no doubt about it! (≧▽≦)
Taiju instead would try to be the immovable force more than try a fistfight, his skills reside in endurance than attack/evasion after all.
Hope you're having fun playing the game, as for "3'700 years of Evolution", the final arc of the manga is at its climax, so it won't be long until the crossover will be continued, so fear not!
Thank you for your ask, type ya soon!

Ah!! Thanks again for answering and I’m happy to provide questions about this fic!!
Guessing of what you said for Chrome’s partner is it going to be sableye 👀👀👀?
Suika having a yamper or rockruff would be absolutely adorable.
Knowing how at somepoint that tsukasa is going to get Pokémon of his own it could be sad and adorable that when he gets frozen his Pokémon watch over mirai for him until he gets revived.
I imagine that senku still sleeps with snivy even after she evolves into a serperior later down the line like she’s just wraps around him like a snake but never harming him. I can see her messing with Gen once a while.
I wonder will mega evolution would be a thing? I believe it could discovered WAY later into the story like chrome having a mega stone but doesn’t have a key.
Will other variants of Pokémon appear in the story? Including galarian, Alolan and possibly Hisuian? The stone world would be more dangerous and fascinating with Pokémon around and without the knowledge of how to deal with them properly (I doubt all modern people would know jackshit about real life Pokémon only of the existence of the games, while stone world folks know at least how to deal with them)
Again these questions have been in my head for a while!!
Sorry to keep you waiting @nitkat360 ! (๑•﹏•)
I put off answering this ask until I had access to a PC instead of the mobile app, because I wanted to be more comfortable, and guess what? Your dragon landed a new laptop thanks to the Black Friday Sales! I hope that with this I'll finally be able to go back to write as much as I did when I had the previous laptop, so wish me luck!
That being said... I won't neither confirm nor deny who's gonna be Chrome's partner! (But I guess that this "no comment" is an answer itself... (〜 ̄▽ ̄)〜)
As for Suika, I can say that Chalk the Shiba Inu isn't going to be replaced by another doggo, on the contrary he's going to have a Pokémon teammate that can relate very well with the girl for a certain ability...
Thank you for reminding me of that aspect of Tsukasa's story, now I'm going to cry in a corner... ಥ╭╮ಥ
As for Snivy evolving, I'm still not sure if I'm going to make her do that, but I can totally see that scenario happening (though I'm more imagining her doing Boa Hankock's Salomone "Throne-noodle form" from One Piece, but horizontally), after all she's a total mother hen and making him comfortable would be a second nature for her with the passing of time. As for Gen... We'll see! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧
I don't think I'll implement Mega Evolutions, they are awesome but at the same time too OP to be comfortably inserted in the Dr. Stone setting, barring eventual Legendary involvement... that is still pending on if/when.
Regional variants are totally going to be a thing, I'm still debating on which form one of the main characters of the Kingdom of Science is going to have as a partner, but I assure you that they won't be excluded. And you're right, Stone World people are going to know how to behave against many of the wild pokémon around the village thanks to experience, but Modern people will have a bit more knowledge on the variety in general, so they'll balance the competence.
Hope you liked these (delayed) answers, type ya soon!

Hewwoo just read your Dr stone x Pokémon fic a while ago and it’s really good!!! I hope that you can continue it someday.
I love the concept of how the Pokémon being in the stone world and how it affects the story of Dr stone in a lot of ways. I’m excited to see what’s next to the interactions as pre stone world humans lose their shit over the Pokémon being real and how post stone world humans interact with Pokémon thinking they are common. The possibilities are endless with this crossover concept of it’s written well like this cool fic!!
Hewwooooo to you too! ヽ(。◕o◕。)ノ
Thank you so much @nitkat360! (And sorry if I'm replying to your ask late, but Tumblr didn't notify me... ( ̄ヘ ̄;) )
I started "3700-years Evolution" for fun because the plot-Bunnelby didn't want to leave me alone (I enjoyed the crossover concept, but there wasn't much content around, so I took the matter in my hands), but now I'm in a bit of hiatus with it because I'm following the Japanese release of the manga and I want to see where the author wants to go with the final act. I mean, I want to be as canon as possible with the Dr. Stone information in order to plan the arcs, otherwise I won't feel satisfied, you know?
Anyway, I'm definitely going to continue it, so despair not!
(๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
Yes, modern humans are definitely going to freak out, that part will be fun! (≧∇≦) And the Ishigami village will have some traditions regarding bonding with Pokémon, hope my muse will help me write it as soon as I can! (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
Thank you again for your praises, I hope I'll be able to meet your expectations in the future as well! ⁄(⁄ ⁄•⁄-⁄•⁄ ⁄)⁄
Type ya (hopefully) soon!

Hi!! Again! I’m just glad your hmhaving fun with Legends Arceus!!
I just love how Snivy tends to parent Senku for his well-being and safety! Will the Pokémon have Nicknames because at somepoint snivy will evolve into a serperior through the story. Also I bet 20 Bucks that Senku will absolutely try to create the first ever Pokédex in the stone world.
But I have a question seeing that Snivy calls the legendaries uncles and aunties it implies that the legendary Pokémon help and guide the Pokémon through their home into the Human world Stone Age? Because it seems like it are some Pokémon are going to be obstacles for our heroes to face.
Oh god the mental image of Dr.Xeno and Stanley companions Pokémon is pretty scary as fuck that our heroes are going to face!
Hiya @nitkat360 ! ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
I don't know how long this ask has been sitting here, sorry!!
Well, with a bunch of teenagers someone needs to be the adult of the situation, even if Snivy's not that much older than them! (≧▽≦)
Still haven't decided for either nicknames or evolutions, but if there are multiple individuals of the same species they will have ones to distinguish from one another.
As for the bet, yes and no, I mean Senkū has unfortunately other priorities, so maybe there will be someone else who canonically loves animals that would try to classify them after Senkū gives her the idea.
As for your question, the complete answer would be a spoiler, so I'll just say this: the Legendaries don't visit every Pokémon on Earth, just their favorites and/or the ones they have a special connection with, but there will be some that are averse against humanity (I still haven't decided who and how many, I'm still waiting for the manga to give them significant motives).
I'm terrified for Xeno as well, and I'm the one making the crossover! (≧▽≦)
I've only decided one Pokémon for the American crew, the others are still pending because I'm still working on making them fit the personalities and the plot... It's so hard! (๑•﹏•)
Anyway, thank you for your ask and hope to be able to continue "3700-years Evolution" soon!

Hello!! It’s me again!! Thank your answering my question I can’t wait for this lovely Fic to update I have lots questions if you don’t mind answering. Is it possible for for the Pokémon to help out with the science stuff and maybe more like the idea of them playing the role of assistants when it comes to projects.
God would love for chrome to have a carbink buddy on his side it would be adorable. I wonder how will tsukasa deal with Pokémon knowing that he is the strongest high school primate while Pokémon have access to elemental attacks? He better not hurt Senku’s Snivy or I will cry ;_; (it would be low key hilarious for him to throw hands with an freaking entei)
Seeing that there’s no way for poke balls to exist in the stone world and I doubt that senku can create pokeballs (unless apricots are around in the stone world it would take a while to make one. Cause this fic gives me low key Legends Arceus vibes)
That’s all what I got for a while have a nice day/night OwO.
Heya again! I don't mind at all, ask away! I'm enjoying these asks! (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ
The pokémon will definitely help, Snivy more than the others (given that she's Senku's partner and has a high IQ to begin with), along with Chrome's and Kohaku's partners... Even Suika's will do their part!
Carbink is a lovely idea (they are adorable), but the first 'mon that came to my mind when I thought about Chrome was someone with a more... visceral interest in gems and would have helped him several times in the past, but good guess anyway!
Tsukasa (despite his twisted ideals) is a good boi, as we saw when he saved Senku and Taiju from the lions, so he will certainly have a healthy respect for their abilities, above all if when he gains his partners with their own elemental attacks... Let's say that Tsukasa himself won't harm Snivy and leave it at that... (I'm evil, I know! ꒰(@`꒳´)꒱) But I could totally see Tsukasa try to throw hands with a Legendary Pokémon to defend someone! Good one! (≧∇≦)
You're right, I didn't think about making Senku (or others) invent any kind of Pokéball (even if made from apricots), because modern humans wouldn't know how to actually implement the idea and the descendants of the ISS crew wouldn't think how it would actually be a possibility, since it wasn't included in the 100 Stories. They'll have to tag along and find creative ways to smuggle their 'mons around, unfortunately... (But maybe in much later arcs they would try to experiment on the idea? I'm still planning them, this could change in any moment.)
Thank you for the Legends Arceus vibes, you're making me blush!
(⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)
Hope this answered your doubts, if you have anything else you want to know feel free to send a question! I'll check more frequently the Box, so you won't be left behind!
Type ya soon!
