Currently working on a variant of Inktober this year. Instead of the official prompt, I’m instead using a combination of Weirdtober and Build a World in 31 Days. Literally combining the two prompts for each day to create some fun results! Using a small sketchbook (3.5 by 5″ Baron Fig Vanguard w/ dotted pages), pitt pens, and a combination of Posca and Copic markers.

In case any of y’all wanted to know or participate with me, this is the inktober prompt I’m going to try this year (emphasis on try lol). It’s based on @lonelytofu  ‘s prompt, and is basically the same thing except I moved some of the prompts around cause I had an idea to not only make the art, but to try to tell a story with it too, so I wanted to find a way to transition each piece in a more fluid way (I hope op's fine with it!!)

Buuuut since this is a bit more hands on than the inktobers I've been doing- I'm gonna go on a but of a hiatus to prepare for it- so I'll be gone until October 1st, thank you for your patience until then!

Day 1 of Inktober I forgot to post. I combined Inktobertale and build a world in 31 days. So I have ink sans  painting on the overgrown ruins. I swear I used so many mixed media just to create this artwork.

Inktober Day 1: First Boss - Overgrown Ruins

So, ahem. I'm alive. And well. I suppose. The reason I upload just now 20 days later the first day is because I kinda forgot to post it. Social media this month was the least of my concerns, and would've rather been concentrated more on my personal problems.

Anyway! I did draw the Inktober challenge these past weeks and the one I chose is not the official one, but rather a fusion of two of them: Gaminktober prompt list and Worldbuilding prompt list. I'll be posting them individually, because I have something to talk about for each of them. This one specifically I didn’t finish because I couldn’t find motivation for it, sooo... I’ll maybe finish it one day.

Grovina (the only of the few I gave a name, from Greco + Rovina), is inspired by Shadow of the Colossus kind of gameplay, with giagantic bosses-only type of deal. It is a type of creature that is capable of possessing a dungeon, and has a core which should be destroyed (in this case the eye). The roots are not needed to be cut so the player can immediately kill the boss, but there is a time limit before it reaches a village or something that can be endagered, so it's better to hinder its movements. There is an obstacle though, which is the dungeon, and inside are obviously enemies that you would fight in a dungeon, that hinder through your path towards the core.

There’s something about the face of their Pap blaster design that always makes me smile when I see it, like it has a perfect amount of horse in it, and the eye and nose holes are so cute!

Inktober 2018 Round Up

A collected post of all my Inktober 2018 pieces. This is my fourth or fifth attempt at Inktober, but the first time I’ve ever finished. I think a lot of factors went into me being able to finish this year; giving myself multiple prompt choices every day, being in a better place with my mental health, being in a better place with my art, being between other art projects. I learned a lot from those other attempts, but it feels so damn good to have finally completed all 31 days! I got some great pieces from this month, and some not so great ones, but they all taught me a lot.

Inktober Day 2: 2D Platforms - Nature Untouched

This one doesn't need much introduction, seeing as its form already says all, but I'll explain anyway. This little guy and the tall guy are movemented platforms that benefit in traversing paths that deemed itravversibile by normal means.

(long rambling below)

The little guy is a movable platform, meaning that you can pick it up and throw it into the water, between vines, or just an extra step for a too high jump. Unfortunately sometimes it's difficult to pick it up, as it can climb, or swim away really far, and the player has to come up with solutions on how to get them, by throwing rocks or finding food they might enjoy. Sometimes you have to be also a little bit patient, as they often tangle themselves in vines and the like when climbing.

The tall guy on the other hand, with it's overly long legs can traverse dangerous spikes or ground based enemies, and another way to go through acidic water. It has two platforms, which can help in avoiding air-based enemies or reposiotion themselves for a jump. Unfortunately unlike the little guy, you can't pick them up, but you can have a chance to lure them with food. They won't stop walking even if they have an enemy in front of them, unless it's a huge wall they can't climb, or if they have to make a turn around the tree or back.
