Maybe it is because of how Warnette and Robin x Barney (HIMYM) were such formative experiences for me, or how predicting Feysand shortly after the release of ACOTAR book 1 was my tumblr debut, but I have become a human romance detector (not in real life, thank god). I am a finely honed tool that can zero in on any interaction or throwaway line and tell you whether or not that will culminate in a canon ship, and I have never been wrong. This is why Midge x Lenny (TMMM) was so satisfying for me, I was waiting for that hotel scene since season 1. Carmy x Sydney (the Bear) will happen, and I’ve known that since season 1. was watching this behind the scenes video about this fancy butter business, and they talk about how they rotate people between the various workstations during the day both avoid boredom but also to (hopefully) prevent RSI. literally why is this not the fucking standard in most jobs. Get your office workers on the floor to avoid desk injuries, let packers run phone support midshift to avoid strain/exhaustion, give your customer facing workers a break by letting them break down boxes for a while (personal fave).

#before anyone jumps down my dick 4-6 hour days and paid sick leave should be the standard for every single person.#even with short shifts repetitive impact work can be fucking brutal. I got wrist pain from 2 hours cutting pizza on a few occasions #I am also absolutely vehemently against multitasking and rapid task switching. I'm talking swapping roles around the hour mark or so #lmao shut up haz #even longer terms could work. take a two month break from accounting to drive a forklift or vice versa.#like this also helps keep long term employees. both by allowing career movement but also just making them more valuable over time #the best hospo workers I know could move between literally any role at the business and do fine #anyway I'm just mad because I can't just take half my day at work to go sort mail. I'd be good at it please I can be trusted with envelopes #the real enemy here is the weird precise scheduling of casuals and contractors. hire them fulltime and flex them between roles

I tried to build Justin's house/farm in the Sims last night and I regret to announce its mental image in my head breaks the laws of physics and therefore it cannot be visualized

#Look. I just want the outside walls of both floors to be precisely on top of each other even though the downstairs hallway #and landing upstairs are right on top of each other #yet the rooms attached to them are deeper on the ground floor than on the first floor #also the entry downstairs is as deep as the bedroom right beside it which is also about three times as deep as the entry hope that helps #and the basic shape of the house is one large rectangle on both floors even though the backside of the house on the top floors has nothing #there and is practically unreachable #could I fix this by looking up some floorplans online and revising my idea? Yes. Do I want to? Ehhhhhh #I also have this problem with the camper they use to get around throughout parts 2 and 3 because I keep forgetting that Brenda and Chuck #excluded no one in this story is nearly as small as I am so I keep underestimating how much space they'll need #Technically I took care of it by putting little narrow bunks over the twin bed in the back of the camper and adding in an extra backseat #(making the camper quite long but fine)#and it already had convertible driver's and passenger's seats plus one of those foldable sleeping areas up top #but this is a recurring problem #I'm gonna build the WCKD facilities from part 4 after I solve the farm problem that's gonna be fun #I would love to build the house they all live in after everything's over but it relies on attic space and custom-design beds which the sims #is simply not capable of doing justice to #so. I guess I'll practice some drawing skills though I don't think that's a project I'll finish in the near future

After having dug through my archive a solid three times I have come to the conclusion that I probably never made a Horses of 2022 post, which is a shame because they are undoutedly my absolute favourite set of horses I’ve ever bought, so here they are a few months later

Sunshadow > Strawberryfield > Snowowl > Sweetrose > Flowerfield > Witchcraft

Literally all of these were unexpected favourites (Especially Sunshadow and Strawberryfield) and even though I bought the last three mostly just to stick to my plans because I wasn’t actually really playing, they are definitely also Huge favourites of mine, good horses all around :3

#I am very happy with what 2022 did to my general horse purchasing mentality #It was a necessary down low year after two years of horses in the double digits #And as I said literally all of these except the Icelandic are some of my favourite breeds #The Icelandic is in the tier just below favourite with the Haflinger #Love them all so so much #Also the only year my affinity for brown to the left has dominated my colour picks #I mostly do these year in reviews for my own archival purposes so here we be #Also the only time I've Ever bought more gelding than mares because I keep track of that and I make a solid 90% of my horses mares #4 out of 2 to be more precise #Comparative to this year where Every horse I've bought is a mare!

whew. just spent what felt like forever packing one (1) very large box of kitchen things. doesn't feel like i did a lot, but it was just as much time and effort going through the shit and throwing out what i don't need as it was actually packing. so having only one box to "show for it" feels a little misleading lmao.

taking a short break now, and then one more spurt of packing before i call it quits for the day 💪

#i feel like i've done so little compared to last saturday but i also did intentionally start with easy-to-pack shit #and not things that needed to be sorted and wiped down and all of that #it's going to take precisely as long as it's going to take and the kitchen is much more complicated than the bookshelf lmao #i also took all the magnets/stickers(held on by tape for display w/o commitment!) off my fridge and dishwasher #and they look so barren now 🥺#the kitchen is just so much little fiddly shit. but the most annoying stuff is packed #i'll have about one box of essential dishes/pots and then another for my pantry (which will likely be easy to downsize)#doing this all on my own does feel more daunting that i want to admit but it's also making me very proud of myself #my mom wants to come help but it just so happened that i found The Place while she's on her many-week cross-country rv trip lmao #which honestly is fine because one of the most stressful things about moving is everyone teeling you to pack your shit This Way Not That Way #this way i can pack everything in the way that makes sense to me and i'll know where all my shit's ended up #hoooooooh okay i am exhausted but i need to get up and keep going #i said i'd work til 4 and that's 40min away i can do this #narrating my life #my legs feel kinda tingly from standing so long 🤪

I love being insane and rambling/loredumping for over an hour in a voice note about a niche thing in the lore/world of my nonexistent book that will probably never come up and is probably not important to the story at all that I know of because I haven't really started writing it yet besides two chapters and some snippets that were like a few years ago because I cannot be bothered to do research for a different WIP that is not even past the basic stages (the real inciting incident hasn't even happened) bc it's not a current priority before finishing the first draft that I have been working on for the last four years or the first draft of the other WIP I've been working on since the year two thousand and sixteen.

#just writer things #truly hate my brain sometimes like why am I getting trivia for a book I have barely written like 2 #20K* words for like I haven't even opened the doc for it in like 8 months and I haven't actually added anything for over 2 years now so.#I don't even have any particular plans to get to it until I at least finish the 2 WIPs I'm working on rn—#which includes one I've been writing the first draft for since 2018 and a basically done first draft of a WIP from like 2016 #both are missing the 3rd act bc I suck at writing cliamxes + my writing style for either books isn't suited for that so it'll take a while #like the 2016 one is at 120K words and literally only needs 1 more chapter and an epilogue so maybe like 20K more words.#there's supposed to be a big climactic battle which intersects the stories of approximately 25 named characters until the actual climax #which is another battle but more small scale but also more epic bc it's personal and magical #and I've literally already written the second battle but the buildup to the first fight is hard and so is the actual battle #then there's the WIP that's haunted me for the last 4ish years which is at 160K of an expected 200-220K and is entirely missing the 3rd act #like I have some stuff written and I did plan a structure for a bunch of the main plot stuff bc the book takes place over a strict timeline #but like the actual climax is mostly missing like I have the ending written. the ending is fully done.#I've had it written and planned for a WHILE bc it's supposed to lead into a future story and it has to happen this way #but idk how to get there just yet with a cast of almost 50 named characters to keep track of and 6 'main' plots although it's really 3 #like it's a lot to balance bc I prefer writing with larger casts and just getting things done is so hard #bc I physically can't do 'write later' to stuff bc those are some of the most important interactions to me and idk how characters act if—#I don't have those written precisely. it's sort of a story about the effects of the mundane. I literally can't 'write details later' this.#and in the middle of this nightmare — a 4 month writing drought — my brain in like 'here's a bunch of shit about a third story'#god sometimes I simply hate my brain #anyway yeah lol #truly just writer things #owad #anyway guess this is me sort of pivoting back to vomiting about writing on this blog #writbelr #writblr #james rambles #James yells in the tags

i know it’s been a WHILE since i posted on this blog but i have in fact thought about tma every single day for the past year. how y’all doing

#precisely two weeks from now i will be receiving my bachelor's degree and i am thinking about #what if the dread powers were college students #like in a 10th dimensional way. our reality was simply the web's senior thesis project #in the creation of narrative via manipulation of 4-dimensional concept-spaces #she let her friends dick around with it all year to make things more interesting and the eye ended up treating it like a reality tv show #and she paid them the equivalent of $25 in 10th dimension money out of her thesis funding #to be a co-author in the final arc of her drama #she had the whole thing plotted out well in advance but the lonely wandered in and messed with one of her main characters at the last minute #and she was SO mad and had to do some serious improv like sitting with it and pulling an all nighter a week before it was due #does this concept make sense to ANYONE but me? NO because my senior thesis made me go insane <3 brain poisoned

I am truly in awe of the penis poll and the snail race (aiming to draw) and stuff like that. Not because Tumblr finally gave us polls and the first thing we did was use them as a medium for cooperative games that aren’t polls. But because they keep succeeding! The E poll aside (excused because I think a lot of the respondents didn’t understand the aim), these polls are really really good at getting the desired result.

Which is amazing when you think about it, because the respondents don’t see the result until they click. Until we participate, we don’t know how long the dick is! We don’t know how big the balls are! We have no idea which snail is ahead! We have to make a guess on what other users have done and behave accordingly. “Oh yeah, but there’s a lot of respondents, just using probability you can -- ” do you know how much variation you get in probability? And yet every time I see those snails, they are NECK AND NECK. That penis always has appropriately sized balls that are approximately the same size, to within about 4% of the poll! You’d think everyone would play it safe and just make a dick, but no -- people knew it needed balls, they made a guess as to whether other people were giving it balls, and the proportions worked out! It could’ve gone the other way; lots of people could’ve been like ‘oh I be no one is doing the balls’ and they could be massive balls with a micropenis. Or one testicle could’ve gotten all the attention by accident, and we could’ve had a single-ball cock on our hands. But respondents are predicting each others’ behaviour with amazing precision, giving us results far more precise than you’d expect from random generation over so many different polls! Those snails are at EXACTLY FIFTY PER CENT every time I see them!
