Collage of enneagram characters I made for an amino post.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Edit: Replaced Chiaki with Napstablook. She’s an obvious 5 that I typed wrong.
Edit 2: Rarity is likely a 2w1, my apologies. Sera might be E6, I saw a good argument for her. I’ll make a part 3 going into subtypes.
Edit: Massive Update
Edit 2: Not sure if I’ll make the subtypes one. It’s taking so long to find all these different examples. I’ve only gotten to so5. Also Natsuki being E4 was a CRAZY take.
Edit 3: Nicole is a sp7 I just don’t feel like changing it. I was doing an analysis for this acc (coming… whenever) and reading subtype descriptions and nope, not a sp8.
Edit 4: No longer stand by Shion sx4. She’s a sx7. Probably, anyway.
Edit 5: Ok why did I think Adam was an 8? He’s a clear 7, right? Ugh, I give up. If I change my mind on something, I’ll just add it to this.

Enneagram Type 8
An overview of an enneagram type. Not an expert. May change later.
___
Center: Gut/Instinct/Anger
Other triads: Reactive, Assertive, Rejection
Basic motivation: Be strong
Basic fear: Vulnerability, seeming weak
Wings: 8w7, 8w9
Disintegration/stress: 5
Integration/growth: 2
___
Traits
- Strengths -
Honest and direct
Protective of others
Decisive
Independent
Justice seeking
- Weaknesses -
Overly aggressive
Will never willingly be vulnerable
Can be overwhelming
Too controlling
Ruthlessness
___
Wings
- 8w7 -
8w7s tend to have a lot of energy that they use to achieve goals and grab opportunities. They especially thrive on new experiences. They are direct and straightforward in both actions and words. 8w7s can be more demanding of others and impulsive.
- 8w9 -
The 9 wing helps calm the typical 8 core. 8w9s tend to be more empathetic and a little more patient. They are inclined to help others rather than run them over. They are not afraid of conflict, but they do not like it either. However, they will confront a situation calmly if needed. They are more considerate of others but will still fiercely chase for things they want.
___
Disintegration: 5
Disintegrating to 5 causes an 8 to withdraw from the world. They can be too warped up in their minds as they ruminate over all their issues. They become preoccuppied with possible threats, resulting in paranoia and anxiety. They feel powerless and out of control.
Integration: 2
Integration to 2 causes an 8 to become gentler and more considerate of others. They are still protective but in a calmer manner. An integrated 8 learns to be more compassionate. They become more comfortable with showing their vulnerabilities with others - they don't have to burden things alone or be aggressive in order to appear strong. Strength shows up in many calmer and kinder ways.
___
Subtypes of 8
- Sp 8 -
Sp 8s focus on gaining material and financial security as a way to assert full control and power. Having success in both makes them feel confident and independent, fully free. They try to protect themselves and others close to them by taking on the roles of protector/guardian. Being in full control and power makes them feel secure as they know what to do to not get hurt. However, they can be overwhelming to others unintentionally as they believe their protection/guidance is toughening others up and building resilience.
- Sx 8 -
Sx 8 is the most rebellious; this subtype is not afraid to break the rules and forge their own path. They can be impulsive and intense. They want to show they're very strong and confident and will take on roles of leadership to solidify this image more. They want to attract others with their passionate and magnetic energy. Although intense, it is with the purpose of creating change. This subtype can be inspiring and influential while also being argumentative and direct.
- So 8 -
So 8s use their power and influence to be an act of service to their community. They are loyal and protective, ready to fight against injustice and unfairness. So 8s seek power over social groups and hierarchies, wanting to protect themselves and others. They can influence others into a rebellion with them. This subtype greatly values trust and loyalty as it's hard for 8 to genuinely trust others in general.

It doesn’t matter if it’s actually you’re enneagram type, if it’s what you feel like right now, then it’s what your pain point is, and you should work through it. If you’re still that type after, great, if you’re not, now you’re healthier and can keep looking.

Note
Any tips on telling the difference between e7s and e8s ?
weirdly enough I believe E7 and E8 to have allot of similarities.
Lust and Indulgement
Sense for freedom
Assertive
Frustration with attachments
And allot of 7s can look like 8s (Han Solo SP7)
Vice Versa Katherine Pierce SP8 (looking like a SP7)
The 7
However the differences can be seen on how they approach life. The 7 yearns for freedom and pleasure (by pleasure I mean a general enjoyment of life) thats why their biggest problem is Gluttony. They want to enjoy everything at its fullest. Allot 7s imo have a 3 ish material desire BUT unlike the E3 who likes pretty things due to its aesthetic and value, the 7 enjoys them for the joy it brings to them.
Gluttony in the enneagram is an excessive need to consume indulgence.
The 8
Unlike the 7 the 8 doesn't look to enjoy things but rather have a full anatomical control of itself. The 8 tend to have a black and white view of things. They are natural go getters and dont mind being more abrupt about the things they want unlike the 7 who is more calm. Which is why their vice is lust incredibly fitting imo.
Lust in the enneagram is an intense desire to get X not usually sexual in nature but can be.
Characters to contrast them
Elite: Guzman (ESTJ 8w7 sp/sx) vs Christian (ESFP 7w8 sp/sx)
SATC: Miranda (ESTJ 8w9 sp/sx) vs Samantha (ESTP 7w8 sp/sx)
GOT: Cersei Lannister (ESTJ 8w9 sp/sx) vs Tyrion (ENTP 7w8 sp/so)
LOK Korra (ESFP 8w7 so/sx) vs Bolin ( ENFP 7w6 sx/so)
SW: Leia Organa (ENTJ 8w9 so/sp) vs Han (ESTP 7w8 sp/sx)
Inuyasha: Inuyasha (ESTP 8w7 sx/sp) vs Miroku (ENTP 7w6 sx/so)
TBOSAS: Sejanus (ESFP 8w9 so/sx) vs Lucy Gray (ENFP 7w6 sx/so)
Note: Sorry for taking so long to answer college has been difficult to handle due to graduation.
Note #2: I'll try and post unhealthy/ healthy type 6 this week.

Cleopatra: Cleopatra [ENTJ 8w9]
MBTI Type: ENTJ Cleopatra is a ruthless strategist who decides things from her head rather than her heart until she gets involved with Mark Antony. She negotiates with Caesar to put her on the throne by promising him the riches of Egypt through an alliance. She sees before he does the risks involved in displeasing his friends in Rome, and urges him to not attend the senate, while also telling…

Enneatype 8 summarised!!
Core type- Passion: lust. E8s think that anything worth doing , should be done all the time, similar to e7s gluttony. However lust is more focused on physicality, this is usually stereotyped as aggression. Fixation: vengeance. They feel as though their wrongs can be forgiven by being angry at- and blaming external factors. Trap: justice. They have a good grasp on how unfair our world is, they’re very sensitive to actions they deem unfair towards themselves. Their response to this is revenge, as it would balance the two wrongs. Defence mechanism: denial. E8s avoid being seen as weak, and feeling vulnerable at all times. Through denial they block out any thought, feeling and need they see as vulnerable or weak, and refuse to accept situations in which they are these things. Virtue: innocence. In order to admit to themselves, they need to learn that vulnerability is okay, and immediate reactions to external, often unnecessary, judgement, whether made by themselves or others,  aren’t needed.  Key traits: Anger and the willingness to confront, rebelliousness, punitiveness/revenge, dominance, insensitivity, autonomy, sensory-motor dominance.
Subtypes-  Self preservation [sp]: Sp8s are usually more introverted and don’t care as much about expressing their desires. They want to get what they need without communicating it, this can make them seem overly impatient with others. They’re very independent and know how to get what they want really well. All this can make them look overly egocentric and selfish. Sexual [sx]: The sx8 is more of a leader type. They want people to look at them and be the centre of attention, usually they strive to achieve this through rebellion and being good at expressing what they want and how they want it. Though they want to lead, bigger groups aren't their thing, they often feel like they might lose control over the people they’re supposed to have all the attention of. Social [so]: The so8 is more friendly and caring than the other subtypes. They want to rebel against social norms and help people out who they think of as weaker than them. They want to be able to protect those who struggle in environments they understand, due to this they want to gain knowledge over these environments.
Contradictions-  INTJ, INFJ, ISTJ, ISFJ, INTP, ISTP, INFP, ISFP, ENTJ, ESTJ, ENFJ, ESFJ, ENTP, ENFP Most importantly, e8 is exclusive to se dominance. While this seems like an excessive limitation, it becomes obvious by their value for tangible reality, sensory motor and lust. One thing people tend to get wrong about e8 is assuming it could be compatible with judging functions, especially Te. While Te and Se can sometimes appear similar, the deciding factor here is the fact that Te still prefers thinking over doing, while e8 wants the opposite. A similar case can be made for intuition, however this would be more focused on intuitions abstraction and e8s realism. Some people have considered sp8 to be on the debatable side of things when it comes to ISTP and ISFP, however I personally disagree and find the introverted and judging dichotomies to be contradictory for the reasons I named previously.  Types you might want to look into if you are on this list are e2, e3, e4, e6, e7 and e9.
Compatible types- Self preservation: ESFP, ESTP Sexual: ESFP, ESTP  Social: ESFP, ESTP

The Enneagram of Divine Forms — Point 8: The Moralist
Look for the truth in the moral sense in their life and the lives of others, their own society and the world at large
Constantly evaluating everything from their moralizing point of view
Merciless critics of others, but even more devastating and unforgiving critics of themselves
Will fall from times to times into bouts of self-criticism (imagining themselves as being bad and doing wrong; sense of uncontrolled sexual lasciviousness, followed by unending moral chastisement)
Ego-position of being the final authority on moral, religious and political matters
Like to sermonize
Feel very acutely the lack of spiritual and moral authenticity
Lust to discipline others
Inclined to impose on others cruel moral sanctions, heartless judgment and righteous indignation
General existential attitudes of sadness and depression, a ‘broken heart’
Project themselves as having been morally abused, which provokes a form of corruption in them
Ego-delusion that they are living in moral disarray
Lust, not only in its sexual manifestation, but in the sense of excess and exaggeration in everything they are doing
Dichotomy of self-denial on one side and self-indulgence on the other
Go from the extremes of asceticism and self-criticism to indulging themselves to excess
Rationalization: superficial and primary defense mechanism of the moralist's over-critical stand to morally justify their excesses
Distort the facts, rationalizing their intolerant feelings or actions by elaborating plausible motives or excuses to make these appear acceptable
Appear to be constantly self-righteous
Assert to themselves: ‘I am ethical and open-minded’
Constantly inhibited as a result of their self-criticism
Their ego-reaction to the situations of life and more particularly to the criticism of others is violence by word or deed
Ego-justification: duplicity or astute explanations
Fair on one side and critical on the other

omigosh you haven’t done Five?? Blindly boy plz!!
Hi there, sweetie! I really hope you like this a lot!
Five Hargreeves' MBTI Type, Big Three and Enneagram Type
Tumblr media
MBTI Type: ENTJ [The Commander]
As ENTJs, Commanders are talkative, high energy, and thrive around people. They seek action and tend to involve themselves in events. They prefer not to spend too much time alone.
They focus more on the big picture than on tiny details—they’re interested in how everything connects together and trust their internal thought process more than they trust past experience.
ENTJs use logic rather than emotion in decision making. They tend to follow what makes sense, rather than what feels right.
They are structured, organized, like to plan ahead and know what’s going to happen. They appreciate rules, processes, and schedules.
Big Three: Libra Sun, Scorpio Moon and Capricorn Rising
Libra Sun: Libra is ruled by the airy part of Venus, making them bon vivants, critical, and artistic — as well as forever stylish.
Scorpio Moon: Scorpio Moons are known for their brooding nature that exudes passion. Once you win them over, they are loyal and unconditional in matters of love.
Capricorn Rising: Capricorn ascendants are known for their efforts and diligence when it comes to attaining success and prosperity.
Enneagram Type: 8w9 [The Diplomat]
Basic Fear: Eights with a nine wing fear being hurt by others. They avoid situations in which they have less control, generally preferring to be in positions of leadership.
Basic Desire: Their basic desire is to guard themselves against threats and control their own destiny. They may express this by asserting independence at a young age.
Diplomats defend themselves by building emotional walls and denying vulnerability. They seek to appear strong, subconsciously believing that being too emotional will make them seem weak.

Enneagram and Autism
A lot of autistic behaviours are describing the Withdrawn triad, verbatim. What enneagrammers call the "Withdrawn triad", psychologists call "autism". This is especially true for high-functioning autism.
The type which overlaps THE MOST with autism, I believe, is sp9.
This isn't to say all autistics are sp9s, or that all sp9s are autistic, but that you cannot find an sp9 in the world who isn't at least somewhat suspect for autism.
The ritualistic behaviour and preference for objects / things over people, believed to originate from early childhood neglect. I read a Wikipedia article once which described how *insert list of sp9 behaviours* is caused by unloving mothers. Very interesting and relevant to me, to say the least...

Centres: gut triad
The core neurosis of body types revolves around the idea of independence and autonomy from the outside world, ie not being affected by it. The contours of the body are the literal boundaries separating the person from their environment. Except body types don’t see this to their overfocus on intrusion, whether real or perceived. So they guard made up ideas about “boundaries”. The defense mechanism has nothing to do with being embodied. If anything, body types usually aren’t fully in the body.
Body types offer a sense of solidity and physical presence and want to prevent being touched by their environment. For 1s, it’s about inner regulation: they control their own responses to prevent being touched by the outside world. 8s seek to impose their will upon the environment and that way prevent the environment imposing their will upon them. Type 9s does both. On the one hand, they shut out the environment, eg. going grey rock or being boulders who slow everything down. On the other hand, they keep themself in a state of fluidity, a fake lack of ego.
