The Cosmic Burden - Prologue

Long ago before time and space existed, an entity sat in the dark void, alone. Realizing that the void was dark and lonely, she began to shape her essence into the cosmos, creating stars, galaxies and worlds. She breathed life into them, allowing the fragments to scatter in different directions.
These fragments became harmonious elements of creation, creating a beautiful balance and life throughout the universe.
But one fragment, not evil or good, became corrupted falling into a chaotic and predatory form. This fragment of Mother Universe embodied creation and destruction, it’s called the Source of All Living Matter.
In order to stabilize its power, the source needed to anchor itself to a living being. It needed a host to contain and channel its energy.
When the source reached earth, it searched for someone that was capable of containing its immense power. It built a sacred cavern that was in a tree-like structure and slithered its way inside, waiting for the day someone would stumble upon it.
Mother Universe realized the danger this fragmented piece could create if it were to find a host. So, she created Mother Nature. Mother Nature blew life on planet earth, the tree-like cavern became known as the Tree of Life. Flowers blossomed, trees grew, forests were created, Mountains were formed and volcanoes were built.
Once the earth was filled with natural harmony, a dying star's energy collided with earth’s vibrant life force. Mother Universe and Mother Nature fused their essence together to create a lone fairy. This was the very first fairy to ever exist, not human but not god either. She was designed to act as a symbol of balance and protector.
She was the first and only being to be born from two mothers channeling their powers within herself. Her name, Sylvia Cosmos.
___
When Sylvia was born, Mother Nature and Mother Universe both realized that she would need guidance to understand the value of life through human experiences. So to make sure she grew up in a loving home, they entrusted her to a human family, descendants of an ancient lineage that were aware of the universe’s deeper mysteries. The human family was known for their wisdom and kindness, and because of this, they accepted Sylvia with reverence and dedication, raising her as their own child.
___
Sylvia was sitting in the woods behind her home, reading a fairytale book. It was one of her favorites about a fairy being raised with human parents, after being found in a burning building. She connected with the book even though she wasn’t found in a burning building, she was raised by a loving and caring family.
A white bunny jumped in her lap as she leaned against the tree. Her hand instantly went to the bunny’s head, petting it gently as she read the book. She was more at peace here then she was in her home, because she felt closer to the earth, to her mothers.
As she flipped a page, the tree she was leaning on began to glow. The animals around, all stopped moving and bowed their heads towards the tree.
Sylvia got up from her spot, and turned towards the tree, holding the book to her side.
“Mother Nature,” Sylvia bowed her head slightly to show the entity of all living things respect.
“My child of cosmos and nature, the time has come for you to fulfill your mission. Much cannot be revealed, but the balance of the timeline is in peril. Your mother of cosmos, the creator of all time, space, and life, is gravely concerned. Will you accept your mission?”
Sylvia bowed her head to the glowing tree. “I sense something really heavy, mother. What kind of danger threatens the balance of the timeline?”
“All will be revealed in time, my child. You must trust the path that is set before you. The timeline requires your intervention.”
“If it is my duty to balance it out, I will go. What must I do?” Sylvia asked, putting the book in her pouch, and the bunny jumped into her arms. She petted its head to bring comfort to her.
“Step into the flow of time. Observe, protect and restore where it falters. But remember, much depends on the choices you make.” The tree’s light began to fade, and a space portal opened up in the tree.
“I will not fail you mothers,” Sylvia said as she gently placed the bunny back down onto the ground. She stood tall, her resolve unshaken, as she walked into the swirling space of time.
“Go now, my child. May the stars and roots guide you,”said the soothing voice of Mother Nature, fading into the hum of the universe.
Sylvia was immediately enveloped by the breathtaking expanse of planets, galaxies and stars. They rotated around her in a harmonious dance, carrying her from her timeline to the one that needed her the most. She closed her eyes, allowing the cosmic energy to flow through her, soothing her mind and steadying the beat of her heart.
“Stars and planets,” she whispered, her voice a quiet prayer. “I ask that you guide me to repair what has been fractured. I call on your power as I call on the roots of the earth. Lead me, guide me, for you are all-knowing and will help me understand what must be done.
The stars shone brightly as if to answer her prayers. A bright light at the end enveloped her as she began to materialize in a world she has never known. One year came to mind as soon as her feet were on the ground.
Year 845.

Little Meow Meow

There's a sweater hanging over the back of Wilbur's chair, and he wants it. He shifts, shaking his now flattened hair out, and picks it up. Before going anywhere, Tommy burries his face in the mint green fabric, breathing in.
It smells like Wilbur.
Wilbur is safe.
Tommy shifts back into his cat form, sinking his teeth into the sweater and dragging it with him. It takes quite some effort, since due to his small size and slightly stumble-y walking, dragging a heavy sweater is hard, but he manages to get it to the top of the stairs.
Or; Tommy and Wilbur are cat shifters, and they love each other. That's it, that's the fic.

“Shining Solo Series: Cecil” Event Stats (EN)
I make these statistics posts for each event to keep track of the games growth over time and figure out which boy’s events are hardest to tier in.
The numbers in the brackets are the event points of the bottom person in that tier. For example, the person of rank 204 had 432,014 event points.
1 hour from ending, the numbers for the top 7 tiers (top 1%-15%) were: Top 1% - Rank 1-188 (427,561) Top 2% - Rank 189-376 (338,082) Top 3% - Rank 377-546 (303,351) Top 4% - Rank 567-752 (278,340) Top 5% - Rank 753-940 (265,647) Top 10% - Rank 941-1879 (227,986) Top 15% - Rank 1880-2819 (170,582)
*These stats are actually form the last half hour because I’m trash and I forgot again. Can someone please remind me next time to do it? You’d be my savour.
The past few events have had fewer and fewer people playing.
When the event ended, the top 7 tiers were: Top 1% - Rank 1-188 (427,561) Top 2% - Rank 189-376 (338,082) Top 3% - Rank 377-564 (303,351) Top 4% - Rank 565-752 (278,340) Top 5% - Rank 753-940 (265,647) Top 10% - Rank 941-1879 (227,986) Top 15% - Rank 1880-2819 (170,582)
Factors that may have effected this event:
Cecil is (sadly) quite unpopular
Lots of places have now gone through daylight savings, it is possible some were still confused on start/end times.
Event tier tracker was released (its super useful, thanks to the creators!)
The top 3 player’s points were:
Rood - 750,904
Bleez - 682,873
moran - 650,079
Overall, the end results for this event were pretty similar to ‘Inspector Kurustin’s Pursuit’ although there were slightly fewer people tiering.
Remember that event rewards can take up to 24 hours to arrive, but usually do within the first few. Don’t worry if it takes a bit longer.
The Stats for the previous 3 events here: CAMUS’S ‘AQUA CRYSTAL’ SYO’S ‘INSPECTOR KURUSTIN’S PURSUIT’  REN’S ‘PROFESSOR RENARTY’S SCHEME’

Political and Spiritual history of Koh Ker

For 2 decades, At the next quarter of this century, Koh Ker rather than Angkor  Virtually All monuments from the enormous  Temple city - the 2nd biggest in Cambodia, next only to Angkor - Originate from this brief period.

Once Angkor Was founded
When The creator of Angkor, Yashovarman I, expired about 910 AD, he had been    About him.
On the Passing of Harshavarman I, that stayed childless, his brother Ishanavarman II triumphed as his rightful heir at 922, but not without Being contested by a maternal uncle of both brothers, specifically the Neighborhood ruler in Koh Ker who afterwards became King Jayavarman IV. His chief

He started to construct his Own funds here in 921 and he started to execute kingly action, for example  Constructing a reservoir and starting work on the tallest Khmer Temple pyramid for a royal Linga, already during the span of Ishanavarman's II principle in Angkor. This feeble king in Angkor Appears to
The erection of The most significant Shiva Linga in addition to the tallest temple pyramid hitherto Built from the Khmer empire obviously signifies that the promise to supreme power By this local ruler, even though he officially was a type of vassal of the king of Angkor.

Still another, of the Exact Same date but in Khmer,  Greatest god and guardian of imperial power (by most scholars  Identified using a god-king because its individual form). Altogether 3 inscriptions Of Jayavarman IV boasted this structure surpassed those of previous kings.
On The departure of Ishanavarman II, that stayed childless, also, the throne  now. It's not understood how the series came about. Obviously Jayavarman Had been the most effective figure in the Khmer empire for years. But It Isn't completely evident that Jayavarman IV Must be Known as a"usurpor", a person just asserting power by military   Though this lonely was certainly not induce sufficient to establish his right the supreme throne.
Shortly   In 928 chose to not live   His construction programme. This manner Koh Ker (Chok Gargyar) substituted Angkor (Yashodharapura) as Khmer funding formally. Inscriptional evidence For Koh Ker function as capital was discovered also out Koh Ker, specifically   The south. At least ten million inhabitants dwelt in the new funding.
The Reasons for this change of the funds aren't completely clarified. But, Koh Ker had begun to be an imperial endeavor and Even though it's located in a comparatively poor and inhospitable area of Cambodia, It's not much from hills Full of aluminum and iron ores, and Gold. Moreover, Koh Ker was situated in the Khmer empire chief  Street from Angkor through Bang Melea into Preah Vihear and extending into Wat Phu In present-day southern Laos and eventually to the shore of central Vietnam.

As already Mentioned, virtually all them are out of the reign of Jayavarman IV, just  Additions into the temples and neighboring shrines were later made by the  1 final refuge was that the hospital chapel of Prasat Andong Kuk constructed by Jayavarman VII from the late 13th century. Statues from the design of Koh Ker are notable due to their three dimensional plasticity and celebrated

All The monuments of Koh Ker were committed to Hindu gods, largely Shiva But maybe not to the Buddha however he had been held in high respect already during Early phases of Khmer history. Aside from Shiva, to whom many temples  deities.  Consecrated that refuge into Shripati (Vishnu). Inscriptions in the Door columns of Prasat Banteay Pir Chan listing that Jayavarman IV  Several contributions were made for it. That is remarkable, since there Were no additional temples in Khmer history committed solely to Brahma. Prasat Bak was allegedly devoted to the worship of Ganesha.

Afterwards  Inscriptions refer to him from the posthumous title of Brahmaloka. No Architectural accomplishments are attributed to the brief reign of Harshavarman II.
The  At least at the beginning, was likely his cousin who had been the ruler of Bhavapura (at the Field of Sambor Prei Kuk) and whose mom,  And of Angkor's creator Yashovarman I. just a couple of decades later with this Cousin became King Rajendravarman II, who changed the funds back to Angkor.  Appears to have been valid and undisputed, although not entirely  Trustworthy and unequivocal.  Emphasise that Rajendravarman was greater than his predecessors. Such derogatory comparisons are extremely uncommon in Kmer inscriptions and Appears to compensate for some doubts. Another form of this settlement was The construction programme of Rajendravarman, the renewer of all Angkors

McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo Coming to a PS4 Near You
Over the last few years, automakers have partnered with PlayStation’s “Gran Turismo” racing simulator to let their engineers’ and designers’ imaginations run wild and create a sky’s-the-limit concept vehicle. The latest in the long line of these dream machines comes from McLaren, and is one of the wildest concepts ever to come out of the Vision Gran Turismo project.
Similar to the recently revealed Mercedes-AMG Project One and the Aston Martin Valkyrie, McLaren’s Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo car is all about function over form, as every line, crease, canard, wing, and inlet has been designed to produce speed, downforce, and to give players the ultimate virtual track car.
“We wanted to break new ground and to innovate and the McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo does exactly that,” said Rob Melville, McLaren’s new design director, in a release.
Powering the purpose-built race car is McLaren’s newest twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine. The engine drives the rear wheels, but the front wheels are powered by twin electric motors housed in the front wheel pods. Combined, the gas engine and electric motors produce a total output of 1,134 hp and 941 lb-ft of torque. The torque, according to McLaren, is available instantly from launch thanks to the electric propulsion and all-wheel traction.
The Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo McLaren also features a chassis that weighs just 2,205 pounds, which means its power-to-weight ratio is better than Koenigsegg’s ludicrous One:1 hypercar.
Additionally, McLaren gave the new concept an ultra-advanced active aerodynamic package called Integrated Active Aero, which works by “opening tiny aperture covers around air inlets on key surfaces during cornering to create drag and generate downforce, rather than moving the surfaces altogether.” And inboard carbon ceramic disc brakes help reduce unsprung mass.
However, the McLaren’s most futuristic detail is obviously its seating position.
“From the game player’s point of view, the driving experience in this car will be like nothing else: the amazing glass cockpit and the motorcycle-like driving position—with your head far forward, almost right above the front axle—combine to allow you to see exactly where the apex of the corner is so you can shave vital milliseconds off each lap,” says Melville. “It puts the driver absolutely at the center of the action, delivering a sensory overload with incredible sound and awe-inspiring acceleration.”
As for the game’s creator and president of Polyphony Digital Inc., Kazunori Yamauchi, McLaren’s concept encompasses the very essence of why he devised this part of Gran Turismo.
“I created the Vision Gran Turismo project to give car manufacturers the opportunity to design something that has all of the characteristics of their brand, and will live on as a playable vehicle in Gran Turismo. Many of the cars have become legendary in their own right, continuing to shine for years and attracting players from different eras.”
The McLaren Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo concept will be available through Gran Turismo Sport on October 17. But given this car’s name, we wouldn’t be surprised to also see some of its design cues in the next McLaren Ultimate Series car, which will succeed the mighty P1.

The N.O.W. Showcase is a curated selection of 10 independent online creators’ latest work that is representative of the industry’s freshest voices and most original forms of storytelling. In addition to the world premieres of the new online work during Showcase Screenings on April 20, a piece of past work from each filmmaker will be showcased on TribecaFilm.com. Rounding out the opportunities for online storytellers is the second annual Creators Market, which connects online creators with the industry, including buyers, producers and brands, and supports the creation, sale, and showcase of new online works. The N.O.W. program has become known for its curatorial expertise in discovering emerging talent. Discoveries include High Maintenance from Ben Sinclair and Katja Blichfeld, which was picked up by HBO; Money & Violence from Moise Vernau, whose second season was picked up by Jay-Z’s Tidal; and up-and-coming talent like Brian Jordan Alvarez, whose 2016 N.O.W. series The Gay and Wondrous Life of Caleb Gallo went on to receive a Breakthrough Series – Short Form nomination at the Gotham Awards.
“We created N.O.W. to recognize artists who were blazing new ground with high-impact online work, and since then, we’ve seen more and more creators drawn to the medium each year,” said Tribeca’s Paula Weinstein. “What’s so exciting about the nature of the online platform is that these projects can tackle poignant subject matter with immediacy, offer critical commentary on current events, and provide new perspectives on the stories, and issues of the day.”
“The N.O.W. program is driven by discovery, to find the most exciting, emerging storytellers working today,” said Liza Domnitz, Programmer, Tribeca Film Festival. “This year, we’ve curated an incredible group of filmmakers who’ve tackled comedy, genre and documentary – while varied, their commonality lies in an impressive ability to tackle everyday universal experiences, political realities and the esoteric with equal aplomb. “

This self-guided art studio tour provides experienced and novice art lovers with an insider’s look at the 6 private workspaces of Sarasota’s finest artists and our Galleria of 14 artists at Ringling College of Art and Design. Our selected artists join us in fulfilling the Society’s mission to stimulate the Arts in Sarasota County through this event that benefits the Society’s scholarship and educational programs.
Tour-goers have the opportunity to meet with artists in their studios and in our Galleria at Ringling College of Art and Design. The entire scope of the artistic expression is on view – classic, traditional, contemporary, modern and avant-garde – in many disciplines such as printmaking, photography, jewelry, ceramics, sculpture, painting and multi-media.
Six artists can be visited in their studios:
• Lucy Barber uses oil paint to explore the perception of light in her still-life and landscape paintings. Her simple yet elegant work and her studio both offer a calming oasis.
• Marianne Chapel has embraced freedom of imagination in her colorful abstract oil paintings. Her working studio is set with multiple canvases side by side across which Marianne explores different themes of still-life abstraction.
• Joan Lyons creates unique and intimate paintings and prints, mixed-media monotypes of torn papers that are often enhanced with ink and pastel. Her works form calm and serene compositions seem to celebrate life.
• Another studio belongs to Chuck Reich, a noted photographer in New York City and Sarasota, whose work has been shown in many group and solo exhibits. Beginning with his original photographs, Chuck uses cutting edge technology to manipulate and transform photos into intense images that often suggest surrealism.
• Sculpture is featured in two of this year’s studios. Duncan Chamberlain is noted for large metal architectural constructions. One can’t miss his barn studio with its monumental eye-catching sculptures in front. Duncan says, “Everybody wants to leave a mark in this world, one way or another.” He has found a way.
• While recognized primarily as a painter working in resin, Andrea Dasha Reich has begun exploring the use of resins as a sculptural medium. Her bright and spacious studio is full of 2- and 3-dimensional treasures, large and small, that amaze and allure the viewer.
